1CLIENT: An Industry Leader with one of the most renowned names in Veterinary and OTC
Pharmaceuticals that Develops, Produces and Distributes a wide range (nearly 1,000 SKU’s) of
Medical: Dermatology, Vitamins, Vaccinations, Supplements and Non-Medical: Grooming,
Nutritional, and Impulse Products for the Companion Animal (Primarily Dogs & Cats) and
Livestock Markets, sold through Major Retailers including: PetSmart, PETCO as well as
Independents and Veterinary Distributors Nationally. With omnipresence in nearly 25 Countries
and a growing structure of nearly 150 Distributor Partners in more than 100 Countries. Our Client
is genuinely invested to its Core Values and appreciates a close Affiliation with its Veterinary
Market both Domestic and International.
LOCATION: Western U.S. within close proximity to an airport.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the National Sales Manager, this person will serve as Sales Manager for the Region,
overseeing up to 10 Territory Managers. Responsibilities include achieving Territory Volume,
Sales Targets, and accomplishing Territory, Region, and Company objectives while remaining in-
line with specific Budget Targets; Assisting the National Sales Manager in managing and
communicating directly with Key Accounts, Universities, and Industry Leaders. Developing a
yearly Distributor Sales Plan for the assigned Distributor Partners. Monitoring & developing the
Sales Team on all aspects of their day-to-day duties, including Selling Skills, Call Cycles, Product
Knowledge, Organization and use of Materials while securing the necessary Training to ensure
optimum performance, both Technically and Commercially. Reviewing all Data and proposing
Plans for Improvement. Establish and clarify Individual Objectives which are parallel to the overall
Sales Objectives for the Company. Recruit, Hire and Train Territory Managers as well as
motivating Sales Team and providing Guidance, Evaluation, and Feedback on Performance while
Identifying areas of improvement and providing written appraisals of Team Members every (6)
months.
PERSONALITY: Exemplary Candidate will have a strong understanding of the importance of Teamwork, working
all together toward a Common Vision, and possess the ability to Direct Individual
Accomplishments into Organizational Objectives. Position will require strong Communication,
Analytical, Organizational and Negotiation Skills with the capability to work under Tight Deadlines
while always remaining Customer-focused.
EXPERIENCE: Qualified Candidates are required to hold a College Degree and have a minimum of (5) five years
of experience in Sales Management within the Animal Health Industry. Experience with
Distribution Channels, Strong Administrative, Organizational and Numeric skills highly sought.
Proven Selling skills within the Industry, as well as a thorough understanding of the relevant
Industry Competitors, Environment and Market. Trade Show planning & supervisory skills helpful.
Demonstrated Communication and Presentation skills including proficiency in MS Office Suite,
Excel, Word, and PowerPoint are a must.
COMPENSATION: While no Candidate with the specific required qualifications will be eliminated for compensation
reasons, our Client has targeted this Position in the $80,000-$100,000 (commensurate with
experience) range with Bonus potential. Benefits include: Health, Medical, and Life Insurance,
401K, Paid Holidays and Vacation.
