 It has 1500 stores .
 Prior/before 2008 the HR function was small
 In 2008 the company moving the function towards
strategic role .
 There are stores around the world ( Netherlands –
Hungary –Australia – Ireland …..)
Questions 1
 What do you see as being the key challenge faced
by Specsavers in developing an international HR
strategy ?
There are many challenging for Specsavers Ltd company
to develop an international HR strategy , but there are
key challenge for the company:
1- Moving the HR function toward a more strategic role .
HR business partners working alongside line managers
2- Developing an overarching strategic framework
and models worldwide .
 The framework and models have not been
helpful .
3- How to ensure solutions consistent between
countries and the HR team .
For example whilst in the UK performance review
is linked whit pay , the process being launched in
the Netherlands and Finland is based around
behaviors and competencies .A job family system
is benign introduced to the Netherlands as this fit
well within the culture , although this is not used
in other countries .
Questions 2
 How can the interests of company oversell be
balanced whit those of different country
locations ?
 Create a strategic international business framework
worldwide are flexibility at the national level , and the
approach is innovative visual , refreshing , and
includes design thinking techniques and co-creation .
Recommendations
i. Understand what strategy really means in your
industry .
ii. Become expert at identifying potential disrupters .
iii. Develop communications that can break through .
iv. Chang the evaluation of HR operation .
v. Focuses on the core areas of performance
management .
vi. Create a strategic framework worldwide are
flexibility at the national level .

Company Profile  Family Company .  Providing eye care and hearing services .  Starting in UK .  It has 1500 stores .  Prior/before 2008 the HR function was small  In 2008 the company moving the function towards strategic role .  There are stores around the world ( Netherlands – Hungary –Australia – Ireland …..)

  • 6. There are many challenging for Specsavers Ltd company to develop an international HR strategy , but there are key challenge for the company: 1- Moving the HR function toward a more strategic role . HR business partners working alongside line managers
  • 7. 2- Developing an overarching strategic framework and models worldwide .  The framework and models have not been helpful .
  • 8. 3- How to ensure solutions consistent between countries and the HR team . For example whilst in the UK performance review is linked whit pay , the process being launched in the Netherlands and Finland is based around behaviors and competencies .A job family system is benign introduced to the Netherlands as this fit well within the culture , although this is not used in other countries .
