This document summarizes a professional education program called "Doing Business in Asia 12" run by Turku University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with other organizations. The program will train participants with commercial or technical degrees and international business experience from November 2016 to June 2017 to work with companies doing business in Asia Pacific. It will accept 15 applicants who find a project work organization by October 2016. The program aims to help Finnish companies launch and develop Asian business operations by providing them with trained professional project workers for approximately 5 months.

Turku University of Applied Sciences will implement a professional education programme Doing Business in Asia 12. The programme
will be organized as labour market training in cooperation with Avaintulos Oy and the Center for Economic Development, Transport
and the Environment in Southwestern Finland. The project will last from 1.11.2016 to 30.6.2017. The programme is targeted for
participants who have a commercial or technical academic or at least junior college level degree and an international business
work experience.
The participants are expected to be fluent in Finnish and English. We will accept 15 applicants who will find a project work
organization for themselves by 31.10.2016. Our main goal is to have the participants employed to their project work company
after the programme.

How do You benefit from the programme?
• Your company will get a professional project worker trained
by our 25 experts, to work in Your company for approx.
5 months (from February to June 2017).
• The project worker can work in Finland or in Asia-Pacific
country, defined by Your company.
• Your company is authorized to receive development
consulting, max 5 days. The total fee for this service is
200 € (+ 24 % VAT) per day. Avaintulos Oy responsible
for this service.
• Your company can, at company’s own expense, participate
in our Business Tour to China and Hongkong in May 2017
(9 days).
Requirements for the project company
• The company is operational and solid.
• The company has business activities or fixed plans
in Asia-Pacific countries.
• The company clearly needs to recruit a professional for
its Asian businesses.
• The company is committed to lead the project worker
during on-the-job period.
The total participation fee, payable by the project
work company to Turku University of Applied Sciences for
a period of 8 months (160 days), is 3.000 € (+ 24 % VAT).
How will the programme proceed?
• The teaching period will be carried out 1.11.2016–27.1.2017
and 3.–7.4.2017.
• Holiday period of the participants will be
22.12.2016–1.1.2017, 6 days in total.
• The participants have a Business Tour to China and
Hongkong in May 2017, 9 days.
• The participants can work for their project company during
the teaching period, if both parties agree on this.
