This document provides an agenda for a Spanish class, including: 1. Reviewing grammar and vocabulary from week 19 2. Discussing missing work or activities in Powerspeak 3. Discussing a Life Long Learner Plan and having students follow an example 4. An activity where students share answers to questions about an image 5. Reminding students that a project is due by February 20th 6. Practicing comparisons It also provides texts and images for students to analyze, discusses the artist Carmen Lomas Garza, has students present projects, and provides a practice activity using conditional verbs.

5. Tu casa
In Spanish, describe your house. What rooms are there? How many
bedrooms? How many bathrooms are there? In addition, make at least 2
comparisons (my room is bigger than the bathroom, etc)
Your response should be at least 5 complete sentences.

6. COMPARATIVES
Pattern: Comparatives are used to express inferiority, superiority, and equality. There are slightly different rules for comparing
different things.
Mi dormitorio es más/menos grande que mi baño
In Spanish, the following basic pattern is used to express inequality: yo tengo más/menos libros
que mi amiga
más/menos + adjective, adverb, noun + que = more/less _____ than yo soy más/menos simpática que mi
hermana
To express equality, use these basic patterns:
tan + adjective, adverb + como = as _____ as yo soy tan
simpática como mi hermana
Mi dormitorio es… tan grande como mi baño
(comparing quantity)tanto(-a, -os, -as) + noun(s) + como = as much/many _____ as yo tengo tantos libros como mi amiga

7. Equating actions
When comparing actions (verbs), the word order changes slightly to:
verb + más/menos + que = _____ more than Taylor canta más/menos que (tanto como) Iva
Me gusta
mirar la tele más/menos que (tanto como) escuchar la música
verb + tanto + como = _____ as much as
If the action (verb) comparison also involves a description (adverb), use this pattern:
verb + tan + adverb + como = _____ as _____ as
