This lesson plan aims to teach students how to speculate about present facts of a person using modal verbs like can't, could, must, should, may, and might. The plan includes three stages: a presentation where the teacher models speculation and examples are provided, a practice with an exercise in their workbook, and a production stage where students work together to write speculations about the teacher's life. The plan is for an 81 minute English class of 30 high school students and includes interaction between the teacher and students as well as collaborative group work.
