• The Spanish Constitution is the most
important law of Spain.
• It was signed the 6th of December in
1978
• Spain is a democracy
• Spain is a parliamentary monarchy
DEMOCRACY
• The citizens choose their representatives to direct the
country
• The citizens that have more than 18 years can vote the
representative to rule in the Parliament
PARLIAMENTARY MONARCHY
• Monarchy: there is a king
- The king of Spain is Felipe VI
• Parliamentary: the king doesn’t govern,
it’s the Parliament.
- The Parliament is composed of
diputies and senators
THE 3 AUTHORITIES OF SPAIN
 LEGISLATIVE POWER: It creates and approves the law
EXECUTIVE POWER: It takes care that the laws are
carried out
JUDICIARY POWER: It takes out the fulfillment of the
law
