System Quality Attributes for Software ArchitectureAdnan Masood
Software Quality Attributes are the benchmarks that describe system’s intended behavior. These slides go through an overview of what some of these attributes are and how to evaluate them.
You may probably recognize the situation when a requirements professional is assigned to a new, challenging, agile project.
As Scrum does not know the role of a Requirements Engineer (RE) or Business Analyst (BA), the requirements professional will either become the Product Owner or be part of the Scrum Team (which consists of members with cross-functional know-how). Either way, the activities of requirements engineering will be executed in some way in an agile environment: that is handling requirements, often associated with user stories, eliciting needs from various stakeholders, documenting them accordingly, negotiating them and achieving acceptance and finally dealing with changes.
There is definitely a lot that goes on with requirements in Agile projects. Sometimes, you may not recognize that a practice used is nothing other than the basic method such as prioritisation; it becomes even more important and may be performed in a very similar way to traditional approaches (e.g. single-criterion classification or the Kano model), even if the result is represented as a sorted Product Backlog.
In this slideshare, the presenter will make some propositions about practices of the four major activities of requirements engineering (elicitation, documentation, validation, management) that may be implemented in a Scrum environment. This will be done by virtue of eliciting differences between the classic way of requirements engineering versus requirements engineering done in the Agile way published in the presenter's article at:

The quality of software systems may be expressed as a collection of Software Quality Attributes. When the system requirements are defined, it is essential also to define what is expected regarding these quality attributes, since these expectations will guide the planning of the system architecture and design.
Software quality attributes may be classified into two main categories: static and dynamic. Static quality attributes are the ones that reflect the system’s structure and organization. Examples of static attributes are coupling, cohesion, complexity, maintainability and extensibility. Dynamic attributes are the ones that reflect the behavior of the system during its execution. Examples of dynamic attributes are memory usage, latency, throughput, scalability, robustness and fault-tolerance.
Following the definitions of expectations regarding the quality attributes, it is essential to devise ways to measure them and verify that the implemented system satisfies the requirements. Some static attributes may be measured through static code analysis tools, while others require effective design and code reviews. The measuring and verification of dynamic attributes requires the usage of special non-functional testing tools such as profilers and simulators.
In this talk I will discuss the main Software Quality attributes, both static and dynamic, examples of requirements, and practical guidelines on how to measure and verify these attributes.
Software testing is a long and multi-layer process which involves a lot of development and probing for the software. Quality assurance and quality management have never been as important as they are now.

Threat Hunting Platforms (Collaboration with SANS Institute)Sqrrl
Traditional security measures like firewalls, IDS, endpoint protection, and SIEMs are only part of the network security puzzle. Threat hunting is a proactive approach to uncovering threats that lie hidden in your network or system, that can evade more traditional security tools. Go in-depth with Sqrrl and SANS Institute to learn how hunting platforms work.

The Automation Firehose: Be Strategic & Tactical With Your Mobile & Web TestingPerfecto by Perforce
The widespread adoption of test automation has created many challenges — for everything from development lifecycle integration to scripting strategy.
One pitfall of automation is that teams often rush to automate everything they can. This is the automation firehose.
However, just because a scenario CAN be automated does not mean it SHOULD be automated. For scenarios that should be automated, teams must adopt implementation plans to ensure tests are reliable and deriving value.
Join this webinar led by Perfecto’s Chief Evangelist, Eran Kinsbruner, along with Thomas Haver, Manager of Automation & Delivery. In this session, the audience will:
-Understand which test scenarios to automate.
-Learn how to maximize the benefits of automation.
-Receive a checklist to determine automation feasibility and ROI.
Building a Successful Threat Hunting ProgramCarl C. Manion
Understanding the key components necessary to build a successful threat hunting program starts with visibility, the appropriate tools and automation. Skilled, experienced analysts, engineers and incident responders with analytical minds who can apply concepts and approaches to a variety of different toolsets are also instrumental to the process. In this presentation, We'll describe and discuss some of the most common challenges, recommended best practices, and focus areas for achieving an effective threat hunting capability based on lessons learned over the past 15 years.

An Adaptive Hybrid Technique approach of Test Case PrioritizationINFOGAIN PUBLICATION
Test-Case Prioritization is the method to schedule any execution order of the test with the purpose of maximizing some objects like revealing faults early. In this paper we have proposed the hybrid approach for the purpose of the test case prioritization involving Robust Genetic Algorithm to improve the parameters like APSC and execution time. This technique involves robust approach, parent generation, cross-over and mutation over each test-case and then calculates APSC and execution time.
Brahmaputra included lots of possible combinations and created the concept of scenario. Continuous Integration allows testing of these combinations and produces lots of results. Functest, Yardstick and all the OPNFV test projects are in charge to create, integrate and run testcases. The production of lots of results for very heterogeneous tests is challenging for all the test projects. Lots of parameters are complex to manage (the POD, the installer, the scenario, ..), that is why success criteria are not always trivial to define. This presentation will explain how Functest & Yardstick are trying to address this complexity in test management.
This slide deck is for all the QA members who want to understand the methodology of test case design. These slides are not theoretical gyan but designed based on experience.
Approaches to Preservation Storage Technologies Micah Altman
The structure and design of digital storage systems is a cornerstone of digital preservation. To better understand ongoing storage practices of organizations committed to digital preservation, the National Digital Stewardship Alliance conducted a survey of member organizations. This talk discusses findings from this survey, common gaps, and trends in this area.
(I also have a little fun highlighting the hidden assumptions underlying Amazon Glacier's reliability claims. For more on that see this earlier post: http://drmaltman.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/amazons-creeping-glacier-and-digital-preservation )
