4. Meaning of the flag
 The yellow background of the Brunei flag represents the
sultan of Brunei.
 The black and white stripes of the Brunei flag represents
the country's chief ministers.
 The emblem of Brunei is called the Brunei's Coat of Arms it
contains five components: the flag, royal umbrella, wing,
hands, and the crescent symbol of Islam.
 The script on the emblem is written in Arabic and means
“Always in service with God's guidance”.

17.  Female dress: Baju Kurung: A baju kurung is a loose-fitting full length
dress, consisting of a skirt and a blouse. The skirt is made from a long
cloth with foldings on one side; the blouse is collarless, has long
sleeves, and extends to between the hips and knees.
 Male clothing: Baju Melayu consists of two main parts. The first being
the baju (long sleeved shirt) itself which has a raised stiff collar known
as the cekak musang collar. The second part is the trousers called
"seluar".The two parts are made out of the same type of fabric which is
usually cotton, or a mixture of polyester and cotton.

 Hari Raya Aidilfitri
:Hari Raya literally means ‘celebration day’, and Hari Raya Aidilfitri is the day that marks the
end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of dawn-to-sunset fasting. Hari Raya Aidilfitri
is considered one of the two most important celebrations for Muslims, the other being
Hari Raya Haji – the festival of Abraham’s sacrifice.

also called the "Sacrifice Feast", is the second of two Muslim holidays celebrated worldwide
each year, and considered the holier of the two.

The Royal Brunei Armed Forces Day was formed on 31 May 1961. Known as the Askar Melayu
Brunei, (Brunei Malay Regiment in Malay it was honoured with the royal title on 31 May 1965, when
the word 'Diraja' was added to the title.
