This document summarizes a report on social media usage in Vietnam. It finds that 54.3% of Vietnamese internet users use social networks, with Facebook being the dominant platform. However, Vietnamese companies have much lower rates of social media marketing than American companies. To be effective, social media marketing for Vietnamese companies needs to use localized platforms like Facebook Vietnam and forums, integrate social media with other channels, build user loyalty, and be creative. Training in social media guidelines, crisis management, and platform algorithms is also important for social media marketers.
