This seminar is to learn and embrace social media in one’s weekly sourcing and recruiting efforts. We will cover the basic 3 including using and targeting people & groups on LinkedIn and Facebook, sourcing candidates on Twitter. Besides these big 3 we touch on sites sites such as Zoominfo, Duck Duck Go, SlideShare and the use of Advanced Google Searching to source for potential candidates.
We will also cover tools that you can use to help make sourcing faster and more efficient!
Finally, we will cover resources that can help you learn about new tools, sourcing and recruiting techniques: LinkedInTalent Blog, ERE Media.com, and SocialTalent
This is a presentation I put together for a project working with jobseekers who were NOT high-end professionals. A large company laid off bunches of people, and most were retail workers and manufacturers who didn't know too much about online media. I was asked to put together a 4-day training that made it easy, and this is the result. Day 4 was reserved for any advanced material for which the group showed interest over the first 3 days.
This presentation was prepared for Centerville High School in Dayton, Ohio. It consists of what parents should know about their teens and social media.
In 2012, Australia was the most popular travel destination on Facebook, Google+ and Instagram.
In 2013, Tourism Australia has an ambitious goal to use the power of social media to make Australia the most talked about holiday destination in the world.
There are officially just three people with ‘social media’ titles at Tourism Australia. Yet look a little more closely and in fact the content shared comes from millions of people who interact and enthusiastically help sell the country.

A presentation I was asked to give at the EU Trainee Career Day on June 28, 2013, explaining the key role of social media in the job search process today. Social networking sites such as LinkedIn and Twitter allow the employer to discover who you are beyond your resume, cover letter, or interview - but they also offer job seekers an opportunity to learn more about specific companies they are interested in, to connect with other employees at those companies, and stay posted on the latest job openings.
This presentation was April 26, 2011 for the Minnesota Recruiting & Staffing Association.
Here is the event description:
It used to be staffing companies and recruiting firms were the only ones with all the information, the "Golden Rolodex" of candidates and companies. Now our clients and candidates have access to much of the same information. Social media sites are a great tool but some clients are hiring their own internal recruiters to mine these same sites for candidates.
So what can we provide that they still need and how do we show our value? What are companies doing and what could we be doing? Finding people is easy, it is the information overload we all struggle with and how to best handle that. Come hear about some simple techniques that you can implement when you get back to the office.
This program has been designed to help human resources recruiters, particularly those not yet using social media in their efforts, to get a better idea of how these tools might be effectively deployed in their companies.
Presentation conducted at SNEC PMI's Career Fairs in Hartford and Stamford CT by George Nikanorov, Head of Marketing for DATA Inc. on how to "brand" yourself and communicate with recruiters through Social Media.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
