Social Media Essay
Writing an essay on the topic of social media can be both challenging and intriguing. The vast
and ever-evolving landscape of social media presents a myriad of perspectives and issues to
explore, making it a topic that demands thorough research and careful consideration. One of the
difficulties lies in navigating the dynamic nature of social media platforms, which are constantly
introducing new features, trends, and controversies.
Crafting a comprehensive essay requires delving into the positive and negative impacts of social
media on society, examining its influence on communication, relationships, and even mental
health. The topic also involves addressing ethical concerns such as privacy, misinformation, and
the potential for manipulation. Striking a balance between highlighting the benefits and
drawbacks while providing well-supported arguments can be a delicate task.
Moreover, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the social media landscape is
crucial, as the technology and its societal implications evolve rapidly. The need for critical
analysis, backed by relevant examples and data, adds another layer of complexity to the writing
process.
While the abundance of information on social media might seem like an advantage, sifting
through the vast amount of content to find credible sources and authoritative voices can be time-
consuming. Ensuring a well-structured essay with a clear thesis statement and logical flow
becomes essential to effectively convey the complexities of the topic.
In conclusion, writing an essay on social media involves grappling with the multifaceted nature
of this modern phenomenon. It requires a careful examination of its impact on various aspects of
life, the ability to navigate the constant changes in the social media landscape, and the skill to
present a balanced and well-supported argument. Despite the challenges, delving into this topic
offers the opportunity to explore and contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding the role of
social media in our lives.

Why Athletes Being Paid
Athletes Being Paid: Ending the NCAA Monopoly
Introduce the issue The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and major
division one programs are reeling in millions of dollars from the performance of
students at their respective institutions. The athletes are compensated with
scholarships in tuition, books, housing, and meals. Even though the athletes are
receiving compensation from their universities, student athletes deserve to be paid
because of the time devoted to being an athlete, the business behind the NCAA, and
the profitability of the athlete s own image.

The time commitment leaves little time for an athlete to maintain a job for the
obvious reason being the student athlete already has two being a student and an
athlete. The NCAA has control over athletes in how they define amateurism. The
NCAA defines amateurism as someone participating in, competitive physical sports
only for the pleasure and the physical, mental, moral, and social benefits derived
directly thereof (Freedman 2003). The loose definition results in the NCAA gaining
all the profitability from the athlete simply playing for personal gain. Furthermore,
college athletes are exploited by the NCAA in order to increase revenue streams.
NCAA football hype videos will obviously feature some of the top players for the
sole reason to gain viewership. In ESPN film Fab Five, Chris Webber, a member
of Michigan Basketball s famous team, was described as struggling with money to
pay for his next meal despite the fact his Michigan jersey was for sale all over
Michigan. The struggling athlete continues to miss out on the big time profits.
Lastly, NCAA coaches are making big dollars off the play of their players. The
coach s job is to produce talent and when the talent performs then he receives more
money. However, the talent itself will never realize the revenue of the coach. Many

The Role of Science, Ethics, and Faith in Modern Philosophy
ABSTRACT: Curiously, in the late twentieth century, even agnostic cosmologists like
Stephen Hawking who is often compared with Einstein pose metascientific questions
concerning a Creator and the cosmos, which science per se is unable to answer.
Modern science of the brain, e.g. Roger Penrose s Shadows of the Mind (1994), is
only beginning to explore the relationship between the brain and the mind the
physiological and the epistemic. Galileo thought that God s two books Nature and the
Word cannot be in conflict, since both have a common author: God. This entails, inter
alia, that science and faith are to two roads to the Creator God. David Granby recalls
that once upon a time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Paradoxically, the third model, which argues for a fusion or unity of science and
theology has naturalistic as well as theistic proponents. For naturalists like Willem
B. Drees, personal experiences, including religious experiences and consciousness,
are all part and parcel of nature (1996: 245). Hence, Drees concludes that the
distinction between personal and impersonal relations provides no basis for
distinguishing supernatural and natural phenomena (1996: 245). Naturalists like
Drees, then, consider religious beliefs and moral codes as products of evolution or
natural processes alone, which leave no room for a Creator, let alone a transcendent
God.
In contrast, theists like Phillip E. Johnson and Alvin Plantinga criticize the prevailing
scientific paradigm in the natural sciences for excluding questions concerning design,
purpose, value, First
Principles, and ultimately the Creator God. According to Johnson, the scientific
method or methodological naturalism leads imperceptibly to, and buttresses,
metaphysical naturalism that excludes the transcendent and God. For Johnson, this
reductionist methodology has impoverished science and led to a corrosive moral
/ethical relativism affecting social theory, law, and practice, since naturalistic
metaphysics leads inexorably to relativism in ethics and politics, even though many
naturalists dislike relativism and try hard
Managing Business Strategy And Growth
MANAGING BUSINESS STRATEGY AND GROWTH
1.0. Introduction
Small business enterprises form special economic component of a given country. As
such the strategies should be put in place to ensure their proliferation and continued
generation of profit to the owners and revenues to the government. Small businesses
are also source of employment for most individuals who are unlucky to be employed
by the multibillion corporate and other middle level companies and organizations.
Management strategies are plans that are put in place by either government or the
business owners to ensure that their businesses are being driven towards growth and
enhanced profitability. The strategies put in place are usually well researched and
organized in steps and stages that can easily be followed to ensure the development
of the small firm and their continued existence. This paper will be looking at a small
business firm, analyze its intellectual capital resources and come up with
recommendations and proposals that will help to boost the total growth and
profitability of that particular business firm. The paper will look at into the strategic
intents of the business firm, document and designate the intellectual capital resources
required by the business venture in order to grow. The competitive advantage
position of the venture will be analyzed according to the resource based theory and
give recommendations that will improve the chances of the successfulness of the
identified small business firm
Mixed Martial Arts Should Not Be Banned In Australia
Mixed Martial Arts should not be banned.
When you hear of UFC (Ultimate fighting championship) or MMA (mixed martial
arts) many people would probably think of a brutal, bloody, barbaric cage fight
with no rules, battling until someone is knocked out cold. However, this image or
stereotype is far from what MMA really is. Early last year there was much
controversy when the Andrews Government legalised cage fighting in Victoria. This
ruling enabled the UFC 193 to be held at Etihad stadium in November 2015 which
brought over 40 million dollars to the local economy. Anti violenceadvocates called
for these UFC events to be banned in Australia. These narrow minded people have a
very distorted view of what UFC actually involves. Mixed martial arts ... Show more

Competitors know the potential risks and injuries they could sustain. It is a
regulated, controlled environment and the chance for them to be critically injured
is very unlikely. Do we really want a nanny state dictating what we can and can t
watch? If we ban MMA the fighting will be driven underground and in turn it will
not be regulated, leading to more injuries and deaths. Put simply, to those who
oppose it being shown on television or are against people going to watch it live; if
you don t like it, don t watch
Monter Inc. Movie Essay
Reverse Monsterfication
Throughout the length of the movie, I was taken back to my childhood when there
were monsters in my own closet. Over the years, the monsters have all died and
been replaced by just as scary skeletons, so my closet is still full. However, to a
young child monsters are still lurking in the shadows, and they still make the floor
creak. The approach taken by the writers of this film is one of uniqueness and of
originality. By successfully juxtaposing the situation between monster and child, the
writers were able to confront a touchy subject head on. This was reached through a
combination of differences represented by the monsters in the movie and between the
child s impression of monsters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Behind all of the flashy animation and the famous voice overs there are an infinite
amount of messages and information forming ideas for the young child to grasp on to.
It is the strong story told in the movie which makes it work for children to
understand. This story line could be told by Joseph Bruchac while beating on a
drum, and it could give the child the very same lessons and ideas as did the movie.
That is not to say that the animation and other effects added by the producers does
the story harm, just that the story is strong enough to carry the movie on its own.
There are certainly some lessons to be learned in the movie as well. Perhaps the
strongest lesson taught in the movie is that you should never judge a book by its
cover. What may be perceived as undesirable or unpleasant, may actually turn out
to be lovely and desirable. The other lesson, which is obviously trying to be taught,
is to not be scared of monsters. Whether or not the movie achieves this goal I do
not know. In the human world scenes, the monsters were always very fierce and
scary, and in the monster world, children appear to be very unwanted and even
hunted. Perhaps the best teacher of this lesson is the large bear named Sullivan. He
is the one who shows the child audience that all though he is a monster, he is full of
love and peace and concern for the safety of the young girl.

Budget planning and development is a year round focus for Town Council and staff.
The careful attention to revenue forecasting, management of expenditures, and
purposeful attention to key projects and initiatives, has allowed for significant
progress in many areas of operation. This emphasis will continue in the execution of
the FY2018 operating budgetrequests. Each step of the budget cycle is based in the
guidance and understanding of Town Council, attention to citizen priorities, and an
emphasis on historical context, trend analysis, benchmarking, forecasting, and
continuous process improvement.

ESSAY QUESTION 1 OF 1
State vs. Fabio
Homicide
Homicide is the killing of one human being by another.
When Fabio shot Nicholas with a gun and he died, there was a killing of a human
being by another.
Actual Causation
Defendant s acts must have been the actual cause of the victim s death, i.e., but for
the Defendant s actions the victim would not have died.
.
But for Fabio shooting Nicholas, Nicholas would not have been killed. Fabio is the
actual cause of Nicholas death.
Thus, Fabio is the actual cause of Nicholas death.
Proximate Causation
A Defendant s actions are the proximate cause of the victim s death if the result
occurred as a natural and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, Fabio s actions were willful and wanton conduct.
Therefore, there was malice aforethought.
Fabio will be convicted of murder.
First Degree Murder
First degree murder is one committed with the specific intent to kill, plus
premeditation and deliberation.
Fabio drove to a gun shop and purchased a gun and ammunition. He then drove to
Nicholas home and made the conscious decision to shoot Nicholas with the gun
killing him. Thus, Fabio had the requisite specific intent to kill.
However, Fabio will argue that he was angry that Nicholas was having an affair
with his wife. When he went to Nicholas home and asked him about the affair,
Nicholas denied that an affair was going on. This denial of the affair escalated Fabio
s anger to the point Fabio shooting Nicholas. Thus, Fabio acted instinctively and did
not have time to deliberate his act. Thus, Fabio will argue that he had no time to
contemplate and appreciate the consequences of his act.
However, it appears from the facts that Fabio purchased the gun with the intent to kill
Nicholas.
Therefore, Fabio can be convicted of first degree murder.
Voluntary Manslaughter
Voluntary manslaughter is a killing of a human being without adequate provocation,
with a loss of mental equilibrium and insufficient time to cool off.
When Fabio saw
National Athletic Director At The National College...
One day I hope to get the opportunity to work for the National College Athletic
Association. The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an association
made up of 1,261 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals devoted to
the administration of intercollegiate athletics (NCAA.org). The purpose of the
National College Athletic Association is to maintain intercollegiate athletics as an
essential part of the educational program and the athlete as an essential part of the
student population. The association s purpose is to help student athletes maintain a
proper balance in life. They enforce the concept of athletes putting school before
anything else. Specifically within the NCAA organization, I hope to become an...

I think that in order to be a successful athletic director, one needs to keep the
functional areas of sport management in mind. These four areas include: planning,
organizing, leading, and evaluating (Masteralexis, Barr, Hums, 2015). The first
aspect of planning is something that athletic directors need to be very good at doing.
An athletic director needs to have both short and long term goals. If I were to
become an athletic director, I would want to make sure all of the student athletes
received the proper tools to succeed both on and off the court. I would make sure
each student athlete, scholarship and non scholarship, had a tutor available to them
at all times. I know that the University of Florida allows each athlete to have a
tutor, however, it is optional. The reason that it is optional is because it is
something that is enforced by the coaches. Therefore, I would make it a university
athletic department policy that all coaches must force their student athletes to use a
tutor. I would want to make sure each athlete used their tutor to their advantage so
they could be aware of what was going on in the classroom. This would also allow
students to not be stressed about their studies, and that way they have a proper
balance between their sport and education. It is a huge goal of the NCAA for their
students to have a proper balance in life, therefore I think through this plan I could
implement that balance. In order to make this possible
The Princess And The Frog
Young children often hear many fairy tales growing up, one of the most famous is
the tale of a princess kissing a frog to magically transform the frog into a prince so
that they could live happily ever after. In 2009, Walt Disney and Pixar Films
released The Princess and the Frog which portrays different aspects of Louisiana s
history during the 1920s. The film tells the story for a young ambitious chef,
Tiana, and her struggles to follow her dreams due to her race, her sex, and the time
period. At the beginning of the movie, Tiana s mother, Eudora, tells her and her
best friend Charlotte a story while working on a gown for Charlotte. Sometimes
[the] mothers, being obligated to work and having no one at home with whom to
leave their children, was the reason they brought their children to work with them
(Paradise,64). The story that the two young girls are being told is about a princess
kissing a frog to become a prince, to marry, and live happily ever after. Charlotte
says that she would kiss one hundred frogs if she could be a princess and live
happy and rich, yet Tiana takes no interest to what her mother says. Tiana says that
she will never kiss a frog, for she believes she is capable of finding love without
such a silly antic. Charlotte is already wealthy yet she wishes upon stars every
chance that she gets, but Tiana does not like to take chances. She would rather work
toward her dreams or anything that she would wish for because her father pushed
work ethic on her
Section 24 Essay
Q3: Validity of s24: Section 24 is most likely connected with the defence head of
power, to determine the validity of s24 it must be established if it falls within the
powers scope in connection with Section 51(vi) of The Constitution. Fullagar J
distinguishes that there are two aspects to the purpose of the defence power in
The Communist Party Case. The primary aspect covers laws aimed at naval and
military defence as a primary object that are definitely appropriate and adapted to
the defence purpose, while the second aspect extends to an infinite variety of
matters which could not be regarded in the normal conditions of national life as
having any connection to defence . It appears that s24 would fall into the primary
aspect under defence preparedness under enlistment and training of armed forces.
While the legislation has a secondary purpose of increasing employment on farms it
could be argued that having army reserves working on farms is beneficial as part of
their training in being exposed to harsh country conditions and having greater... Show

Texas Government
Texas is the second most populous state as well as the second largest state in the
United States of America (Brown, Langenegger, Garcia, Lewis, Biles, 2014). With a
huge number of people currently calling Texas their home, it would make sense to
draw the conclusion that the Texas government must make this state a great place to
live by serving its citizens to the best of its abilities. However, it is best not to make
assumptions and in order to ascertain whether the local governmentactually fulfills
this role we must look at multiple aspects of the government. To assess how well the
government of Texas meets the needs of its citizens we first must look at the
document that delegates power to the state government and outlines the rules... Show

This is an area where public opinion and public policy match in that they both
heavily favor regressive taxation (Brown et al., 2014). Tausanovitch and Warshaw
(2013) have developed a means of understanding political preference in comparison
with public opinion and public policy to determine whether a government is best
serving the desires of its people. This type of tool would be very useful for the
state of Texas to use to determine whether the government is serving the desires of
its constituents. But, just because public opinion and public policy line up doesn t
mean that the interests of citizens are best served because some groups may still be
left out and those groups may have more needs than others. Texas current
operational stance of pay as you go makes for a very tight budget where the
government cannot always afford to spend money on things the citizens of Texas
may need. For instance, Texas operates its roads with the same pay as you go
mentality by opting for toll roads (Brown et al., 2014). Toll roads receive some
government funding through state issued bonds and the collection of tolls after
completion. This system is hardly fair for the citizens who do not use the toll roads
but still must subsidize them through taxpayer dollars when the toll revenue does not
meet the projected earnings. There are also many more citizens in Texas who live
below the poverty line, 18.4% for Texas in comparison to 15.1% for the entire United
States (Brown et al., 2014). With a larger proportion of citizens in poverty the
burden to the state becomes greater, especially when funding remains low (Insert
citation). Texas is just hurting its citizens by not being able to provide as much
support and assistance to them as possible. Texas was given the opportunity, along
with every other state in the union, to expand its offering of Medicaid under the
Affordable Care Act. A sample of public opinion was obtained
Nuclear Technology After the World War II Essay
After the United States developed the atomic at the end of World War II, interest in
nuclear technology increased exponentially. People soon realized that nuclear
technology could be used for electricity, as another alternative to fossil fuels. Today,
nuclear power has its place in the world, but there is still a lot of controversy over
the use of nuclear energy. Things such as the containment of radiation and few
nuclear powerplant accidents have given nuclear power a bad image. However,
nuclear power is a reliable source of energy because it has no carbon emissions,
energy is available at any time, little fuel is needed for a lot of energy, and as time
goes on, it is becoming safer and safer. A major advantage of nuclear power is that...

Nuclear power is available for 90 percent of the hours of the year ( Advantages and
Disadvantages of Nuclear Energy ). This makes nuclear power very convenient for
countries, and is probably why France uses nuclear energy to generate three
quarters of its power. Many Eastern European countries also get a quarter of their
power from nuclear energy ( Nuclear Power in the World Today ). Nuclear power is
used so much by these countries due to its efficiency. With nuclear energy, tiny
amounts of fuel can go a long way in terms of power. One uranium fuel pellet has
the ability to generate as much energy as one ton of coal ( Quick Facts: Nuclear
Energy in America ). Using 20 metric tons of uranium fuel, a typical nuclear
facility can produce enough power to generate electricity for more than 690,000
homes ( Quick Facts: Nuclear Energy in America ). It would take a lot more fossil
fuels to generate electricity for that many homes. Nuclear energy gets the job done
with a lot less. As times goes on, nuclear power plants and their reactors are
becoming safer and safer. Contrary to popular belief, a commercial nuclear reactor is
not like a ticking nuclear bomb just waiting to go off. Nuclear power plants may have
been given this image due to the accident at Chernobyl. First of all, nuclear reactor
uses uranium fuel rods that are not enriched beyond five percent; weapons grade
uranium requires a much higher enrichment
Essay On The Future Of The Energy Industry
What is the future of the energy industry in Canada? A big uncertainty that arises
for the energy industry in Canada surrounds the new U.S. administration.
According to National Resources Canada, Canada currently exports 99% of its oil
and gas to the U.S. (2017a). If Trump were to revise the current NAFTA agreement,
and impose a tax on imports to the U.S. from Canada, it could result in Canada
losing a major partner, and cause the economy to take a hit. As mentioned, President
Trump is in support of the Keystone XL pipeline, however, that then also comes
under scrutiny for how much of the profit would Trump expect. As of November
2017, the Keystone XL pipeline is approved, but on an alternative route, and it still
faces challenges. If... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, emissions per barrel of oil produced in the oil sands have fallen over
35% since 1990, (Government of Canada, 2017a). It is good that Canada is taking
steps to reduce their carbon footprint, but the future of Canada as a member of the
Paris Agreement is uncertain if Canada does not take more tangible steps to reduce
the production and emission of greenhouse gases. What is Suncor s Future? Based on
the challenges identified, and the way that Suncor approaches these challenges, the
future looks bright for Suncor. As the case study points out, water use is an
environmental issue that requires careful management (Vietor, 2016, p.7). The major
oil producing companies were taking measures to reduce the amount of fresh water
they were withdrawing from the Athabasca River, and the Canadian government had
restricted withdrawals to 5.2% of the river s median flow (Vietor, 2016, p.7). In
2015, Suncor more than exceeded their goal of reducing their water usage. The
government regulated that they could use 59.8 million cubic meters annually,
however, their 2014 usage was only 18.65 million cubic meters, (Vietor, 2016 p.12).
This demonstrates that Suncor is on track to meet national demands and constraints
placed on the energy industry. As they are ahead of the game in this regard, they set
precedence for other oil and gas companies in the industry, and this action encourages
them to reduce their own water consumption in the future. As Suncor has already
achieved

Federal Family Education LoanProgram or directly from the federal government
under the Federal Direct Loan Program. For many years now, students have been

I am not even able to say exactly how much I owe. All I know is, I make nowhere

Bachelor s degree earn $2.1 million, and people with a Master s degree earn $2.5

School Board Meeting Paper
Local school board meetings are a venue that allows the public to attend and be a part
of the educational process. These meetings provide community members with
important information about upcoming events so that they are able to be well
informed of the happenings that are taking place within the school system in which
their child attends. Along with being able to learn about what is taking place within
the school, it also allows parents and parent groups the opportunity to express their
opinions and concerns about matters that could likely affect their children. Monthly

The calculation of FCF can be done according to the formula shown by Figure 1
(based on [Copeland, Murrin and Koller, 2000], [Fernandez, 2002] and [Agar,
2005]). Initially, we need to determine Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT),
which represents hypothetical earnings before tax which ignores the effect of
interests paid on debt. It can be calculated as the reported earnings before tax plus
the interest expense stated in the income statement [Bodie, Kane and Marcus,
2004]. The EBIT should then be reduced by the hypothetical tax (computed as
EBIT * tax rate) in order to obtain Earnings After Tax without the effect of debt
financing. This number shows the accounting profit which would have been
realized had the firm used no debt to finance its operation. 1 According to
[Fernandez, 2002], the most important types of cash flow are the Free cashflow
(cash flow available to satisfy both the shareholders and creditors return
requirements), the Equity Cash flow (cash flow available for shareholders) and
the Debt Cash flow (cash flow available for creditors). 14 Earnings Before Interest
and Tax (EBIT) Tax on EBIT (EBIT * Tax rate) Accounting earnings = Earnings
After Tax without debt + Depreciation expense Increase in gross fixed assets

The Diagnosis Of Rheumatoid Arthritis
Since this disease has chronic, systemic, autoimmune, and inflammatory
characteristics, the initial diagnosis is rarely rheumatoid arthritis. The common use
of the term arthritis can oversimplify the nature of the varied disease processes and
the difficulty in differentiating one from another (Grossman, 2014, p. 1499). The
diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritisis made clinically based primarily on physical
examination findings (Gibofsky, 2012, p. 295), which can be a cause of
misdiagnosis, since many diseases have overlapping presentations.
The insidious onset of this disease produces manifestations such as joint pain,
swelling of hands, feet, and knees, fatigue, malaise, and furthermore anorexia. Since
RA is characterized by systemic joint inflammation, there are numerous other
illnesses that share the same ailments. Similar signs and symptoms of this disease
are also found in patients diagnosed with osteoarthritis, which is inflammation of
the bones. However, unlike RA, osteoarthritis is not autoimmune and is caused
from everyday wear and tear of the body. Osteoarthritis tends to have a gradual,
slow onset with pain affecting only areas of bone damage, where RA is systemic
rapidly progressive, and can lead to widespread fatigue. Ankylosing spondylitis is
also a systemic inflammation process but with that of the spinal column joints.
Fibromyalgia, a medical condition characterized by widespread joint pain, can be
ruled out in a patient with RA due to the fact that
Theory Of Abraham Maslow Theory
Introduction
Abraham Maslow, known for his contributions to humanistic psychology, was born
the eldest of seven children to Jewish immigrant parents from Russia on April 1,
1908. He took an interest in psychology, which led him to obtain his Bachelor of
Arts, Master s degree and PhD in psychology from the University of Wisconsin.
Maslow moved back to him hometown, Brooklyn, New York, after graduating, to
serve as a professor at Brooklyn College. During that time, he connected with other
psychologists who shared his same interests, such as Adler, Fromm, Horney, and
others. He went on to serve as the chair of the psychology department at Brandeis
University in Massachusetts, where he met Kurt Goldstein, a psychologist whose
idea of self actualization Maslow would later be inspired by and use as a framework
for his own theories. Maslow has contributed to the area of humanistic psychology
through his research in primate dominance behavior and human potential. While his
theories revolved around other psychologists concepts of motivation and self
actualization, Maslow used them as the structural framework he would immensely
add to with his own research, to bring to light his own perspective on the ideas.
Outline
The goals of this research are to define and analyze the Hierarchy of Needs theorized
by Abraham Maslow, to compare the various perspectives supporting and opposing
the theory, and to determine the effectiveness of it when applied to the fields of
management, medicine,
Cesar Chavez Hero s Journey
Cesar Chavez: A Hero s Journey We draw our strength from the very despair in
which we have been forced to live. We shall endure (Cesar Chavez). Growing up,
Cesar Chavez worked in many fields and labor camps, and he immigrated to many
different states, but he was able to become successful, despite his previous
hardships. Chavez was born on March 31st 1927 in a small town near Yuma,
Arizona, but because his family was in search of work, they never stayed in the
same town very long. During the Great Depression, his family had lost their farm,
so they had no choice but to move to California to become a migrant farm worker.
He hardly ever went to school because of his work in the fields, but when he did go
to school, he was discriminated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This 5 year protest, lasting from 1965 1970, made them march 300 miles across
California to Sacramento, and they made sure it was all a non violent protest .
Chavez was so passionate about his protest, he went 25 days without food, and he
only drank water. He chose to do this as an act of penitence toward the farm
workers. This risky tactic was a contributing factor to his death, 28 years later
(ufw.org). His final stage of the heros journey was the Return stage. Chavez had to
adjust to a new lifestyle because after he went 25 days without food, he lost 35
pounds, and he was too weak to speak for the next 28 years. He mastered the 2
worlds when he won 3 awards for his leadership in the public/community service.
He won the Pacem in Terris award in 1992 for public service with spanish cultures,
he won the Jefferson award for public service. The Jefferson award is the highest
award a civilian can get, so he was very honored to receive this award. Finally, he

one traveled by Cesar Chavez. In the Odyssey, Odysseus was told by Helios not to
eat the cattle he was provided with. He did as told and started to starve. Although
Chavez was not told to starve, he chose to stay famished, due to the non violent
protesting. Both Odysseus and Chavez starved for the purpose of their contrition
toward the men they were leading. Another way you can compare Odysseus to
Chavez, is the way they lead their people.
School Librarians Case Study
One of the new AASL Shared Foundations: Engage (2017) is that librarians
implement organizational policies and practices related to censorship, materials
challenges, library records, and responsible use of information resources (Shared
Foundations Engage sect. para. 4). Subsequently, librarians demonstrate their
leadership capabilities through implementing and disseminating information to their
school on guidelines for students use of digital tools and libraryresources.
Furthermore, librarians have a critical role in ensuring that their school is complying
with the Children s Internet Protection Act. Moreover, school librarians are also
responsible for ensuring that all students have equitable access to diverse materials.

However, as a school librarian, I also need to create policies that do not restrict
students right to access information from a variety of perspectives. Safeguarding and
promoting students right to access information on diverse and controversial subjects
is also another component of my future policy for students use of the Internet.
Accordingly, I will need to verify that the blocking software that the school uses is not
blocking information specifically due to its controversial nature such as LGBTQ
issues, or contentious political viewpoints. The American Library Association asserts
(2012), Anything that restricts access to information based on viewpoint or content
violates the First Amendment (p. 23). Consequently, a critical component of my
future role as a school librarian will be verifying that the filtering software and the
acceptable use policy of my school are not infringing upon the students right to access
information from a variety of viewpoints.
The digital divide has a pervasive and negative effect on students from lower
socioeconomic backgrounds. Subsequently, the policies and practices that I
implement in the school library should help alleviate the deleterious effects caused
by students lack of access to digital resources. Furthermore, by simply extending the
hours that the school library is open, I can provide students with greater access to
assorted digital resources as well as Internet access. Equitable
Analysis of Fabulous Superlatives Concert
This may sound trite, but the concert as I saw it is best described by the name of
the band, the Fabulous Superlatives!!! On every level this was a concert I will
remember for a long time.
The ArtsQuest venue was new to me and I was impressed with the ease of finding
it, the free amble parking, the friendly staff and the great sound and seating. It is a
modern impressive structure built around the old Bethlehem Steel Works. The ruins
of the old plant are used as a visual backdrop to the new and impressive
entertainment complex. There are a couple of restaurants, and a movie theater
housed next to the concert venue. The food was very good, the serviced just great
and I d would and plan to go back.
Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives took the stage with a thunderous
explosion of applause form the sold out audience. It was evident that many folks
where their to see Marty as the primary reason for coming that evening. His band is
truly both fabulous and superlative. The line up is: Harry Stenson on drums and
background vocals; Kenny Vughan on lead and acoustic guitar; Paul Martin bass and
background vocals and Clarence the guitar accompanying Marty Stuart. Clarence is
the guitar played by the fabled Clarence White. Clarence and Roger s Rickenbacker
370/12 guitars were stars in their own right getting numerous pictures taken of them
before, during and after the show. Marty , who is a guitar collector, also owns Hank a
guitar one owned by Hank Williams Sr.
Why were the Habsburgs unable to consolidate their power...
The seventeenth century was undeniably a period of great division, war and turmoil
for Hungary. After the events of the previous century, Hungary remained divided into
three distinct areas. The largest was Ottoman Hungary, under the direct control of
Constantinople, which encompassed the south and south east of Hungary. Second,
there was the Eastern Hungarian Kingdom founded by JГЎnos ZГЎpolyai in 1526,
who after the defeat of the Hungarian forces at the First Battle of MohГЎcs sought
the support of Sultan Suleiman I to be crowned King of Hungary by a rival faction
of the nobility and became the Sultan s vassal. After 1571, with the coronation of

Due to Louis being connected to the Habsburgs through his own marriage and that

of Bohemia. He moved to secure his title as King of Hungary and was crowned
King by a minority group of nobles on December 16th 1526. However, he was not
uncontested. JГЎnos ZГЎpolyai was also elected King by the majority of the
nobility on November 11th. In order to cement his rule, ZГЎpolyai was encouraged
by a Polish noble and the French ambassador to Poland to enter an agreement with the
Ottoman Sultan. As a result, Suleiman I supported ZГЎpolyai and had him become
his vassal. Suleiman then moved to expand further into Hungary and marched west,
reaching Vienna in 1529. After the siege, heavy snowfall forced the Ottomans to
retreat on October 14th, while Ferdinand secured the western province of Hungary. It
was this division which remained the status quo until our period being studied, due to
the exhaustion of the Ottoman machine of expansion. The result was the split of
Hungary by the seventeenth century into the Habsburg controlled Royal Hungary in
the west, the rival Principality of Transylvania in the east and the Ottoman controlled
lands of the south and centre. This made sure that the Habsburg could consolidate
power in Hungary while it was so divided. It should next be argued that a substantial

3.4LITHIUM NICKEL MANGANESE OXIDE or LNM (LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 ):
The Lithium Nickel Manganese oxide battery is still in its experimental stages. It
consists of a 25% nickel substituted in a LiMn2O4 spinel. This is because
Manganese will have 4 electrons in its valence shell which will avoid the Jahn Teller
distortion caused due to the Mn3+. Due to the oxidation or reduction of Nickel ions
which leads to the transfer of electrons which corresponds to electric current.
LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4 takes shape in two conceivable crystallographic structures
concurring the cationic sub lattice: the face focused spinel (S.G. Fd3m) named as

The doping iron increases the capacity of batteries, but this diminishes with extensive
cycling. The detrimental effect of iron can be avoided by annealing. Ruthenium is
another transition metal which can be used as a dopant which enhances the stability
of the crystal structure. It also increases conductivity and improve performance of the
battery. Chromium is another transition metal that can be used as a dopant. It reduces
the ordering of lithium ions in LiMn2O4 spinel and this stabilizes the spinel structure.
It also increases capacity retention during cycling. Zinc is used as a dopant in cathode
materials as it has a stabilizing effect on the crystal structure. Addition of Zinc oxide
also prevents reaction between the electrode and electrolyte. Titanium along with
cobalt also acts as a stabilizer and also reduces dissolution of electrodes. Zirconium
reduces reactivity levels between the electrode and the electrolyte and performs the
same function as titanium by stabilizing the crystal structure. Aluminium is one of
the most commonly used dopants in cathode materials. It performs the function of
increasing capacity of the electrodes. The addition of aluminium improves electrode
kinetics, structural modifications and microstructural effects. Some of the other
dopants include Magnesium and Lathanum which increases the lattice parameter and
improves the stability of the crystal structure and also
Independence Of Indi Mahatma Gandhi
There were many Indian nationalists who had wriggled against the British, who had
seized the whole country of India. On the one hand, nationalists were extremists, who
had fought against the British army and sacrifice their lives for the country, while on
the other hand, there were modernists, who had made peaceful and non violent
movements against British. These events were marked as of prominence importance
in the history. One of the greatest examples of nationalists in India was Mahatma
Gandhi, a modernist. He had employed Satyagraha (passive resistance) movements
like Salt March, Mass movements, and Quit India movement. He had also made his
clothes from a spinning wheel instead of buying them from English people. As a
result of these movements, he made India an independent nation and gained lots of
reverence from Indians
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born at October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, a small,
seaside town in the Kathiawar peninsula in western India about halfway between
Mumbai and Karachi. He was born at rich family. He was married to Kasturba at
age thirteen. Since he was from a rich background, his relatives were able to send
him to England for better education. At England, he studied at University College of
London and became a lawyer. After his education, he went to South Africa to work as
a lawyer. At South Africa, his attendance was required at the lawsuit in Pretoria. So,
he took the train and moved in the first class compartment at first class tickets.
The Decomposition Of Soil Organic Matter
The decomposition of soil organic matter (SOM), or plant litter, by soil organisms,
influences soil chemistry and its physical properties. The breakdown rate of SOM
affects plant nutrient availability, the moisture holding capacity of soils, soil
structure and the biological activity of soil organisms.01 According to the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), these microorganisms carry
out processes that are essential for soilhealth and biodiversity, performing vital
functions in the soil, such as soil fertility, plant growth, maintaining soil structure,
soil resilience and carbon storage. 01 There are three biogeochemical cycles that are
essential to life carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) and have been the focus
of many studies, which have found organic C, N, P and sulfur (S) to be strongly
related. Having a better understanding of this soil ecosystem, including processes and
the C N P S stoichiometry of SOM , is important to shedding light on the nature of
nutrient limitation in terrestrial ecosystems. Furthermore, it has applications to the
capture of the benefits of soil biological activity for sustainable and productive
agriculture and to the reduction of negative impacts from human intervention (FAO).

When I first arrived at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) in Lancaster,
United Kingdom, I had limited knowledge of the implications of nutrient cycling in
soils and waters. Although I was no stranger to environmental
Analysis of Strengths and Weaknesses
Reflection Essay Introduction With the long term goal of becoming a
transformational leader, it is often useful to consider one s strengths and weak
nesses across four dimensions. These include personal and professional
accountability, career planning, personal journey disciplines and reflect practice
reference behaviors and tenets. The intent of this analysis is to evaluate my
strengths and weaknesses in each of these four areas. In addition, a discussion will
be completed on how current leadership skill sets will be used for advocating change
in my workplace. The conclusion of the paper will concentrate on one personal goal
for leadership growth, including an implementation plan leading to its fulfillment.
Analysis of Strengths and Weaknesses In the four areas of personal and professional
accountability, career planning, personal journey disciplines, and reflective practice
reference behaviors/tenets, my strengths and weaknesses align to the progression
from transactional to transformational leadership. As transformational leadership
concentrates on creating a culture of trust and transparency (Fitzgerald, Schutte,
2010) my strength in personal and professional accountability is to strive to be trust
worthy. One of my strengths in this area is the willingness to keep other informed
as to my progress over time on projects and if I am going to be on time for an
appointment or not. My strength in the personal and professional accountability area
has to do with my

The Perfect Body Is Mobility Hannah Termorshuizen
Analysis
Take a step into a plastic surgery center, and the inevitable will be seen. Self
conscious women will line the waiting room chairs, waiting for their own version
of the perfect body. In The Perfect Body is Possible, written by Hannah
Termorshuizen, it makes quite a mockery of women everywhere. The speaker
addresses plastic surgeons everywhere about how it is their calling card to give
women the proper body, even introducing herself as a fellow plastic surgeon, with
years of experience. With a sarcastic and witty voice throughout the article, the
author effectively reveals the satire with outrageous claims. Since the perfect body
is not possible, the author has made that very clear on why it is not by showing
that it is, by taking on the persona of a plastic surgeon reaching out to other
surgeons to continue to work on women. Recently, society is trying to push the
movement that there is no such thing as the perfect body. The author has taken it
upon herself to satirically show a surgeon that believes in the perfect body, and how
it is possible, by means of plastic surgery. The perfect body is obviously not possible
because all women were not created equal. To prove this, the author... Show more

that there is no such thing as the perfect body. She also addresses the ignorance of

The Treaty Of Versailles And Its Effect On The World War I
The Treaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was a treaty signed between Germany and the Allies which
consisted of Britain, France and America. The idea of the Treaty was to end World
War one and Germany would be too weak to start another war. This meant that there
would be peace throughout Europe for a long time but it was controversial at best.
It was signed in the Versailles palace which was large enough for hundreds of people
to be involved in the signing on 28th of June 1919. Germany had almost no say in
what was put into the treaty but they had no choice but to sign it otherwise they
would be invaded by the Allies. Its 15 parts and 440 articles reassigned German

Along with the reduction of men, Germany was not allowed tanks, submarines or
military aircraft and the navy could only have six battleships (Mr Hinds History;
what were the main Terms of the Versailles Treaty 2016). This was created so that
Germany would not have the force to declare war but still had the power to stop
communism from getting into Western Europe. Another aspect to the Treaty of
Versailleswere the economic terms. These terms stated that Germany had to pay 6.6
billion dollars back to the allies. Germany was not able to pay this amount of money
so they had to borrow money from nearby countries. This meant that Germany fell
into huge amounts of debt and lost their title for second most economically advanced
country in the world.
There were two more important Terms for The Treaty of Versailles, they were the
General terms and the territorial terms. There were three important general clauses
to the treaty. The first was that Germany had to take all responsibility for the war,
this was called the War Guilt Clause and it was the term that Germany was the most
upset about. The second was that Germany had to pay for all war damages which
was mostly to France and Belgium. The third was that a League of Nations was set up
to keep world peace and Germany was not allowed to join. There were also the
territorial terms of the treaty where Germany had to give up

The reconstruction was important, for the structure reminds us that once we had a

monument lies will always be a part of the itinerary for historical and educational
trips for the reason that important events that marked our culture and tradition can be

The Beginning and the End of the Weekend
The Beginning and the End of the Weekend.
Before the 1870 s, the week end was just that. Week end. The week end was Saturday
night, not Sunday. Sunday was considered the first day of the week, not the week
end, week end or weekend. It was not for work or fun, it was for worship, a day of

Weekend (35). We call the first day of the week, Monday, but it is in fact, Sunday
.
There was no such thing as the weekend as we know it until the 1870 s. Workers
put in up to 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, according to Krissy Clark s, A Weekend
History Lesson, labor organizers worked with the government to get shorter hours
and better working conditions and better pay. These kinds of changes did not easily
come back then, some protesters lost their lives for publicly speaking about it and
others in riots. Men were insisting on having time to do whatever they wanted,
whether it be with their families, get more education or just leisure according to
historian Michael Feldberg from Clark. Clark also points out a bumper sticker made
by artist Ricardo Levins Morales that says The labor movement. The folks who

The Legacy Of The Jim Crow Era
Phil Robertson the patriarch of Duck Dynasty has little to no knowledge about the
events that happen in the Jim Crow era. To see how wrong he is lets take a look at
the Jim Crow era. First Jim Crow was the name of the racial class method which
operated mainly, but not purely in the south, between eighteen seventy seven and
the nineteen sixty. Jim Crow was more than a series of severe anti black laws. It
was a way of life to african americans. Under Jim Crow, African Americans were
relegated to the status of second class citizens. Jim Crow represented the
legitimization of anti black racism. Many Christian ministers and theologians taught

from public transport and amenities, juries, jobs and school districts . When they
passed the 13, 14, and 15th Amendments, the Constitution had granted african
americans the same legal protections as caucasian. However, after eighteen seventy
seven, and the election of Republican Rutherford B. Hayes, southern and border
states began restricting the liberties of african americans. Unfortunately for african
americans, the Supreme Court helped undermine the Constitutional protections of
african americans with the infamous Plessy v Ferguson case, which legitimized Jim
Crow laws and the Jim Crow way of life.

Comparing the Advertising of Different Companies of a Non Gender Specific Product
For my essay I am going to compare and contrast the advertising of different
companies of a non gender specific product, namely music systems. I am going to
look at examples of print adverts and language specifically from TEAC Systems
and compare them to rivals in the market place. In this essay I am going to look
specifically at the interesting campaign running for TEAC stereo systems. The
campaign is highly gendered and revolves around sexually attractive women wearing
very little, and suggestive copy. The adverts are definitely relying on the sex sells
line of promotion. Looking at the image with the three women and the man , The ...

Sony are trying to tell you that you are existing in the real world. However, it
implies that unless you have Sony products you are not getting the best out of life,
and that applies wherever you are, working, driving, et cetera. TEAC s statement
that Listening to TEAC can seriously damage your single status. Is a wholly
unbelievable statement. Therein lies the difference between the two statements.
Music to some people, myself included, does add something to your life. However,
Sony have twisted the idea slightly. Owning the Sony stereo does not add life to you
world, it is the music that is played on them. The Sony quote is more subtle and
realistically believable, all the things the TEAC quote is not.
All the TEAC stereos look gorgeous in a champagne metal finish. This use of
association between champagne/success/TEAC offers another piece of gendered
marketing. Almost every stereo on sale today is finished in metal, plastic that looks
like metal, or jet black. There is no alternative that might be more appealing to the
female market. I am not however, suggesting that women would not like the male
associated finishes, but while talking about this essay to female colleagues, I was
informed that at least two girls would like to have a pink stereo. While this is a
stereotypical colour association, it still highlights that there must be a market for
stereos that are aimed specifically at the female

Non verbal communication is communication without words such as making a
gesture, smile or frown, widen your eyes, move your chair closer to someone, wear
jewellery, touch someone, raise your vocal volume or even when you say nothing
(DeVito 149). Non verbal communication is shown by the bank customers after John
Reid threatens to rob the bank in a very awkward way. The bank customers looked
very surprised and confused, which were clearly shown on their faces, thus showing

Reflection Of Job
Philosophically written by an anonymous author Job is a reflective book in the
Bible, focusing on common setbacks for Christian viewpoints. The author of Job
may be acknowledged through reading. The author specifically addresses
individuals with intimate faith in Yahweh (God). The author was also a well
traveled individual who could captivate on an abundance of knowledge and
experience. He knew the constellations (Job 9:9; 38:31 ESV), could discuss
meteorology (Job 38:22 38 ESV) or even describe a sophisticated mining operation
(Job 28:1 11 ESV). His effort of showcasing Job, is simply about God and man; it
was inscribed to individuals who battle with the righteousness of a sovereign God in
a world bursting with misery.
The book of Job discusses a blameless and upright man who feared God (Job 1:1
NKJV). Job was an astounding headman, who was protected in the center of family
and wealth. However, his faith and persistence were tried by Satan. Fortunately, Job
was victorious, with a remunerated faith. The author acknowledges that God never
forsakes the one amid suffering. Yet, all suffering is not inevitably due to the
individual sin of the one suffering. This was a way of displaying vindication from
God. Witch is contrary to the widespread concepts that have persevered from then
until now. The delinquent of suffering is timeless, whether national or individual.
Suffering allows people to obtain greater faith in God. Additionally, God requires his
saints a faith that
The Anaconda Plan
In 1861, the United States was no longer united and its people were at war, in what is
commonly known as the American Civil War. This left President Abraham Lincoln in
a tight spot on how to go about dealing with the Southern states that had seceded, the
Confederacy, who were now at war with the Northern states, the Union. Lincoln met
with his generals to devise a strategy by which the Confederate states could be
brought back into the Union. General Winfield Scott, commanding general of the
Union army, proposed one plan of battle that he had earlier proposed to Major
General George B. McClellan. His plan came to be known as the Anaconda plan. This
plan, although it was never technically adopted, ended up being extremely successful

This was to prevent them from exporting cotton, tobacco, and other cash crops and
to keep them from importing much needed war supplies. Since cotton was the
South s staple product and what they relied on for economic success, if the trade of
this were to be shut down then they would run out of funds and lose all financial
power. The Confederate government was able to purchase a pound of cotton for as
low as 8Вў,and sell it to Europe for as much as 54Вў.This sale was often above
300% profit while considering the costs of transport.[4] Therefore, if they were to
lose this major source of income, they would begin to crumble and lose any
financial power they could possibly have over the Union. This plan was never
adopted mainly due to Winfield Scott s lack of planning. His proposal for the
blockade was not properly a strategy, despite the fact that it is often referred to by
historians as one. It did not estimate the forces that would be needed to guard the
3000 or more miles of coastline in the seceded states.[5] Nor did it consider an
allocation of resources, set out a time line, or even name points of particular
concern. Due to this lack of planning, Lincoln was extremely skeptical of the plan s
possible success. It was because his doubt of the plan s success that he chose to battle
with the Confederacy in ground campaigns, rather than waiting for a slow
strangulation of the Confederacy to occur. In the

Social Media Essay

  • 1. Social Media Essay Writing an essay on the topic of social media can be both challenging and intriguing. The vast and ever-evolving landscape of social media presents a myriad of perspectives and issues to explore, making it a topic that demands thorough research and careful consideration. One of the difficulties lies in navigating the dynamic nature of social media platforms, which are constantly introducing new features, trends, and controversies. Crafting a comprehensive essay requires delving into the positive and negative impacts of social media on society, examining its influence on communication, relationships, and even mental health. The topic also involves addressing ethical concerns such as privacy, misinformation, and the potential for manipulation. Striking a balance between highlighting the benefits and drawbacks while providing well-supported arguments can be a delicate task. Moreover, staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the social media landscape is crucial, as the technology and its societal implications evolve rapidly. The need for critical analysis, backed by relevant examples and data, adds another layer of complexity to the writing process. While the abundance of information on social media might seem like an advantage, sifting through the vast amount of content to find credible sources and authoritative voices can be time- consuming. Ensuring a well-structured essay with a clear thesis statement and logical flow becomes essential to effectively convey the complexities of the topic. In conclusion, writing an essay on social media involves grappling with the multifaceted nature of this modern phenomenon. It requires a careful examination of its impact on various aspects of life, the ability to navigate the constant changes in the social media landscape, and the skill to present a balanced and well-supported argument. Despite the challenges, delving into this topic offers the opportunity to explore and contribute to the ongoing discourse surrounding the role of social media in our lives. • 2. Why Athletes Being Paid Athletes Being Paid: Ending the NCAA Monopoly Introduce the issue The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and major division one programs are reeling in millions of dollars from the performance of students at their respective institutions. The athletes are compensated with scholarships in tuition, books, housing, and meals. Even though the athletes are receiving compensation from their universities, student athletes deserve to be paid because of the time devoted to being an athlete, the business behind the NCAA, and the profitability of the athlete s own image. Explain why it is compelling to you Student athletes deserving pay for their efforts while playing at a university is a compelling issue to me because I am a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The time commitment leaves little time for an athlete to maintain a job for the obvious reason being the student athlete already has two being a student and an athlete. The NCAA has control over athletes in how they define amateurism. The NCAA defines amateurism as someone participating in, competitive physical sports only for the pleasure and the physical, mental, moral, and social benefits derived directly thereof (Freedman 2003). The loose definition results in the NCAA gaining all the profitability from the athlete simply playing for personal gain. Furthermore, college athletes are exploited by the NCAA in order to increase revenue streams. NCAA football hype videos will obviously feature some of the top players for the sole reason to gain viewership. In ESPN film Fab Five, Chris Webber, a member of Michigan Basketball s famous team, was described as struggling with money to pay for his next meal despite the fact his Michigan jersey was for sale all over Michigan. The struggling athlete continues to miss out on the big time profits. Lastly, NCAA coaches are making big dollars off the play of their players. The coach s job is to produce talent and when the talent performs then he receives more money. However, the talent itself will never realize the revenue of the coach. Many
  • 3. Essay about The Role of Science, Ethics, and Faith in... The Role of Science, Ethics, and Faith in Modern Philosophy ABSTRACT: Curiously, in the late twentieth century, even agnostic cosmologists like Stephen Hawking who is often compared with Einstein pose metascientific questions concerning a Creator and the cosmos, which science per se is unable to answer. Modern science of the brain, e.g. Roger Penrose s Shadows of the Mind (1994), is only beginning to explore the relationship between the brain and the mind the physiological and the epistemic. Galileo thought that God s two books Nature and the Word cannot be in conflict, since both have a common author: God. This entails, inter alia, that science and faith are to two roads to the Creator God. David Granby recalls that once upon a time, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Paradoxically, the third model, which argues for a fusion or unity of science and theology has naturalistic as well as theistic proponents. For naturalists like Willem B. Drees, personal experiences, including religious experiences and consciousness, are all part and parcel of nature (1996: 245). Hence, Drees concludes that the distinction between personal and impersonal relations provides no basis for distinguishing supernatural and natural phenomena (1996: 245). Naturalists like Drees, then, consider religious beliefs and moral codes as products of evolution or natural processes alone, which leave no room for a Creator, let alone a transcendent God. In contrast, theists like Phillip E. Johnson and Alvin Plantinga criticize the prevailing scientific paradigm in the natural sciences for excluding questions concerning design, purpose, value, First Principles, and ultimately the Creator God. According to Johnson, the scientific method or methodological naturalism leads imperceptibly to, and buttresses, metaphysical naturalism that excludes the transcendent and God. For Johnson, this reductionist methodology has impoverished science and led to a corrosive moral /ethical relativism affecting social theory, law, and practice, since naturalistic metaphysics leads inexorably to relativism in ethics and politics, even though many naturalists dislike relativism and try hard

  • 5. Mixed Martial Arts Should Not Be Banned In Australia Mixed Martial Arts should not be banned. When you hear of UFC (Ultimate fighting championship) or MMA (mixed martial arts) many people would probably think of a brutal, bloody, barbaric cage fight with no rules, battling until someone is knocked out cold. However, this image or stereotype is far from what MMA really is. Early last year there was much controversy when the Andrews Government legalised cage fighting in Victoria. This ruling enabled the UFC 193 to be held at Etihad stadium in November 2015 which brought over 40 million dollars to the local economy. Anti violenceadvocates called for these UFC events to be banned in Australia. These narrow minded people have a very distorted view of what UFC actually involves. Mixed martial arts ... Put simply, to those who oppose it being shown on television or are against people going to watch it live; if you don t like it, don t watch

Over the years, the monsters have all died and been replaced by just as scary skeletons, so my closet is still full. However, to a young child monsters are still lurking in the shadows, and they still make the floor creak. The approach taken by the writers of this film is one of uniqueness and of originality. By successfully juxtaposing the situation between monster and child, the writers were able to confront a touchy subject head on. Behind all of the flashy animation and the famous voice overs there are an infinite amount of messages and information forming ideas for the young child to grasp on to. It is the strong story told in the movie which makes it work for children to understand. This story line could be told by Joseph Bruchac while beating on a drum, and it could give the child the very same lessons and ideas as did the movie. That is not to say that the animation and other effects added by the producers does the story harm, just that the story is strong enough to carry the movie on its own. There are certainly some lessons to be learned in the movie as well. Perhaps the strongest lesson taught in the movie is that you should never judge a book by its cover. What may be perceived as undesirable or unpleasant, may actually turn out to be lovely and desirable. The other lesson, which is obviously trying to be taught, is to not be scared of monsters. Whether or not the movie achieves this goal I do not know. In the human world scenes, the monsters were always very fierce and scary, and in the monster world, children appear to be very unwanted and even hunted. Perhaps the best teacher of this lesson is the large bear named Sullivan. He is the one who shows the child audience that all though he is a monster, he is full of love and peace and concern for the safety of the young girl.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) is an association made up of 1,261 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals devoted to the administration of intercollegiate athletics (NCAA.org). The purpose of the National College Athletic Association is to maintain intercollegiate athletics as an essential part of the educational program and the athlete as an essential part of the student population. I think that in order to be a successful athletic director, one needs to keep the functional areas of sport management in mind. These four areas include: planning, organizing, leading, and evaluating (Masteralexis, Barr, Hums, 2015). The first aspect of planning is something that athletic directors need to be very good at doing. An athletic director needs to have both short and long term goals. If I were to become an athletic director, I would want to make sure all of the student athletes received the proper tools to succeed both on and off the court. I would make sure each student athlete, scholarship and non scholarship, had a tutor available to them at all times. I know that the University of Florida allows each athlete to have a tutor, however, it is optional. The reason that it is optional is because it is something that is enforced by the coaches. Therefore, I would make it a university athletic department policy that all coaches must force their student athletes to use a tutor. I would want to make sure each athlete used their tutor to their advantage so they could be aware of what was going on in the classroom. This would also allow students to not be stressed about their studies, and that way they have a proper balance between their sport and education. It is a huge goal of the NCAA for their students to have a proper balance in life, therefore I think through this plan I could implement that balance. In order to make this possible

In 2009, Walt Disney and Pixar Films released The Princess and the Frog which portrays different aspects of Louisiana s history during the 1920s. The film tells the story for a young ambitious chef, Tiana, and her struggles to follow her dreams due to her race, her sex, and the time period. At the beginning of the movie, Tiana s mother, Eudora, tells her and her best friend Charlotte a story while working on a gown for Charlotte. Charlotte says that she would kiss one hundred frogs if she could be a princess and live happy and rich, yet Tiana takes no interest to what her mother says. Fullagar J distinguishes that there are two aspects to the purpose of the defence power in The Communist Party Case. The primary aspect covers laws aimed at naval and military defence as a primary object that are definitely appropriate and adapted to the defence purpose, while the second aspect extends to an infinite variety of matters which could not be regarded in the normal conditions of national life as having any connection to defence . With a huge number of people currently calling Texas their home, it would make sense to draw the conclusion that the Texas government must make this state a great place to live by serving its citizens to the best of its abilities. However, it is best not to make assumptions and in order to ascertain whether the local governmentactually fulfills this role we must look at multiple aspects of the government. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is an area where public opinion and public policy match in that they both heavily favor regressive taxation (Brown et al., 2014). Tausanovitch and Warshaw (2013) have developed a means of understanding political preference in comparison with public opinion and public policy to determine whether a government is best serving the desires of its people. This type of tool would be very useful for the state of Texas to use to determine whether the government is serving the desires of its constituents. But, just because public opinion and public policy line up doesn t mean that the interests of citizens are best served because some groups may still be left out and those groups may have more needs than others. Texas current operational stance of pay as you go makes for a very tight budget where the government cannot always afford to spend money on things the citizens of Texas may need. For instance, Texas operates its roads with the same pay as you go mentality by opting for toll roads (Brown et al., 2014). Toll roads receive some government funding through state issued bonds and the collection of tolls after completion. This system is hardly fair for the citizens who do not use the toll roads but still must subsidize them through taxpayer dollars when the toll revenue does not meet the projected earnings. There are also many more citizens in Texas who live below the poverty line, 18.4% for Texas in comparison to 15.1% for the entire United States (Brown et al., 2014). With a larger proportion of citizens in poverty the burden to the state becomes greater, especially when funding remains low (Insert citation). Texas is just hurting its citizens by not being able to provide as much support and assistance to them as possible. Texas was given the opportunity, along with every other state in the union, to expand its offering of Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act. A sample of public opinion was obtained

A big uncertainty that arises for the energy industry in Canada surrounds the new U.S. administration. According to National Resources Canada, Canada currently exports 99% of its oil and gas to the U.S. (2017a). If Trump were to revise the current NAFTA agreement, and impose a tax on imports to the U.S. from Canada, it could result in Canada losing a major partner, and cause the economy to take a hit. What is Suncor s Future? Based on the challenges identified, and the way that Suncor approaches these challenges, the future looks bright for Suncor. As the case study points out, water use is an environmental issue that requires careful management (Vietor, 2016, p.7). The major oil producing companies were taking measures to reduce the amount of fresh water they were withdrawing from the Athabasca River, and the Canadian government had restricted withdrawals to 5.2% of the river s median flow (Vietor, 2016, p.7). In 2015, Suncor more than exceeded their goal of reducing their water usage. The government regulated that they could use 59.8 million cubic meters annually, however, their 2014 usage was only 18.65 million cubic meters, (Vietor, 2016 p.12). This demonstrates that Suncor is on track to meet national demands and constraints placed on the energy industry. As they are ahead of the game in this regard, they set precedence for other oil and gas companies in the industry, and this action encourages them to reduce their own water consumption in the future. As Suncor has already achieved

The calculation of FCF can be done according to the formula shown by Figure 1 (based on [Copeland, Murrin and Koller, 2000], [Fernandez, 2002] and [Agar, 2005]). Initially, we need to determine Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT), which represents hypothetical earnings before tax which ignores the effect of interests paid on debt. It can be calculated as the reported earnings before tax plus the interest expense stated in the income statement [Bodie, Kane and Marcus, 2004]. The EBIT should then be reduced by the hypothetical tax (computed as EBIT * tax rate) in order to obtain Earnings After Tax without the effect of debt financing. This number shows the accounting profit which would have been realized had the firm used no debt to finance its operation. 1 According to [Fernandez, 2002], the most important types of cash flow are the Free cashflow (cash flow available to satisfy both the shareholders and creditors return requirements), the Equity Cash flow (cash flow available for shareholders) and the Debt Cash flow (cash flow available for creditors). 14 Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) Tax on EBIT (EBIT * Tax rate) Accounting earnings = Earnings After Tax without debt + Depreciation expense Increase in gross fixed assets Increase in Working Capital Adjusting items = FREE CASH FLOW (FCF)

The diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritisis made clinically based primarily on physical examination findings (Gibofsky, 2012, p. 295), which can be a cause of misdiagnosis, since many diseases have overlapping presentations. On the one hand, nationalists were extremists, who had fought against the British army and sacrifice their lives for the country, while on the other hand, there were modernists, who had made peaceful and non violent movements against British. These events were marked as of prominence importance in the history. One of the greatest examples of nationalists in India was Mahatma Gandhi, a modernist. He had employed Satyagraha (passive resistance) movements like Salt March, Mass movements, and Quit India movement. He had also made his clothes from a spinning wheel instead of buying them from English people. As a result of these movements, he made India an independent nation and gained lots of reverence from Indians Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born at October 2, 1869, in Porbandar, a small, seaside town in the Kathiawar peninsula in western India about halfway between Mumbai and Karachi. The breakdown rate of SOM affects plant nutrient availability, the moisture holding capacity of soils, soil structure and the biological activity of soil organisms.01 According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), these microorganisms carry out processes that are essential for soilhealth and biodiversity, performing vital functions in the soil, such as soil fertility, plant growth, maintaining soil structure, soil resilience and carbon storage. 01 There are three biogeochemical cycles that are essential to life carbon (C), nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) and have been the focus of many studies, which have found organic C, N, P and sulfur (S) to be strongly related. Having a better understanding of this soil ecosystem, including processes and the C N P S stoichiometry of SOM , is important to shedding light on the nature of nutrient limitation in terrestrial ecosystems. Furthermore, it has applications to the capture of the benefits of soil biological activity for sustainable and productive agriculture and to the reduction of negative impacts from human intervention (FAO). 01 When I first arrived at the Centre for Ecology and Hydrology (CEH) in Lancaster, United Kingdom, I had limited knowledge of the implications of nutrient cycling in soils and waters. Self conscious women will line the waiting room chairs, waiting for their own version of the perfect body. In The Perfect Body is Possible, written by Hannah Termorshuizen, it makes quite a mockery of women everywhere. The speaker addresses plastic surgeons everywhere about how it is their calling card to give women the proper body, even introducing herself as a fellow plastic surgeon, with years of experience. With a sarcastic and witty voice throughout the article, the author effectively reveals the satire with outrageous claims. Since the perfect body is not possible, the author has made that very clear on why it is not by showing that it is, by taking on the persona of a plastic surgeon reaching out to other surgeons to continue to work on women. Recently, society is trying to push the movement that there is no such thing as the perfect body. Germany was not able to pay this amount of money so they had to borrow money from nearby countries. Since cotton was the South s staple product and what they relied on for economic success, if the trade of this were to be shut down then they would run out of funds and lose all financial power. The Confederate government was able to purchase a pound of cotton for as low as 8Вў,and sell it to Europe for as much as 54Вў.This sale was often above 300% profit while considering the costs of transport.[4] Therefore, if they were to lose this major source of income, they would begin to crumble and lose any financial power they could possibly have over the Union. This plan was never adopted mainly due to Winfield Scott s lack of planning. His proposal for the blockade was not properly a strategy, despite the fact that it is often referred to by historians as one. It did not estimate the forces that would be needed to guard the 3000 or more miles of coastline in the seceded states.[5] Nor did it consider an allocation of resources, set out a time line, or even name points of particular concern. Due to this lack of planning, Lincoln was extremely skeptical of the plan s possible success. It was because his doubt of the plan s success that he chose to battle with the Confederacy in ground campaigns, rather than waiting for a slow strangulation of the Confederacy to occur. In the
