Why Gun Violence Is Not Become America s New Normal Essay
There has been a rise on the topic of gun violence. It has become a more relevant topic today and
one cannot walk away from the news without hearing a story related to gun violence either being
covered or displayed on the teleprompter below. This paper will analyze three sources: an article
written by Dov Cohen, titled Culture, Social Organization, and Patterns of Violence, on the trends
of violence based on location, a Ted Talk given by Dan Gross, titled Why Gun
Violence Cannot
become America s New Normal, on the topic of gun violence and how it affected his life as well a
proposition to ending violence in the U.S, and an article, Analyzing Available Data Could Help
Improve Background Checks Involving Domestic Violence Records, written by the U.S.
Government of Accountability Office(GAO) which covers the process of background checks
within the sales of firearms. These three sources will be evaluated on the bases that they evoke a
strong argument with the use ethos, pathos, and logos within their writings.
In Cohen s article, Culture, Social Organization, and Patterns of Violence, he examined a study,
based on the use of violence. Whether it was seen as more culturally appropropriate within South
and West communities as opposed to less violence seen in tighter, more organized states within the
North, he stated that it is a trend of commonplace within these areas and communities following this
norm as it is part of that area s culture( Culture par. 4.) He cites that

Analysis Of Lynyrd Skynyrd s Simple Man
Striving for Simple Certain songs resonate deep down within one s soul. The reason may not
seem clear, but particular songs cause an effect on a person when they are heard. Many songs
cause this reaction, and even though a person cannot quite put his or her finger on the how and
why, a person experiences this forever. A song can achieve incredible things. Whether the song lifts
someone s spirits, transports their mind to a time and place long since passed, or breaks their
hearts, musicis a constant. Lynyrd Skynyrd s Simple Man may have been overshadowed by the
band s songs Free Bird and Sweet Home Alabama , but Simple Man takes a person back to their
childhood, evokes hope, and reminds people that the things needed in life remain simple... Show

After having spent months planning a vacation to the Canadian Rockies, the last minute decision
to cancel our former plans in hopes of a vacation at the beach, simply couldn t have been more

what we found from our weeklong stay at the Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana Resort in the Dominican
Republic. Cap Cana is located just 15 minutes from Punta Cana, and is being named the world s
new leading destination. Far from the tourist masses at Punta Cana, it was quite the secluded area

The Drinking Age Should Remain 18 Years Old in Australia
The Drinking Age Should Remain 18 Years Old in Australia
These days there are a number of social issues in the community, such as drug abuse, teenage
pregnancy and alcohol abuse. Alcohol abuse is rampant in today s society, Australian Drug
Foundation states that, Alcohol is the most widely used psychoactive, or mood changing,
recreational drug in Australia. (Healey, 2002, p. 11). Underage drinking and binge drinking are
some of the problems associated with alcohol abuse.
Most countries and cultures across the world experience these issues with 83% of the world
population being allowed to drink at the age of 18, and the remaining 17% of the world population
are legally allowed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a custom that pervades every class in
the colony, and cannot be departed from without something more than a breach of good manners. (
Drinking Etiquette, n.d.)
Alcohol helps people remove their barriers; lose their inhibitions, and form friendships,
relationships, and acts as a social lubricant. In Australia many business deals have been conducted
over a drink or two.
In addition to the Australian drinking culture, at 18 years old you are legally an adult. Thus, society
has many expectations of young adults such as employment and study. Australian policies allow
18 year olds to vote, marry, drive a vehicle, and obtain a gun license; furthermore, it is 18 year
olds right as an adult to drink. Eighteen year olds could vote to change government, get married,
have children, enter into legally binding contracts and were treated as adults by the justice
system, Queensland Premier Anna Bligh said on a matter. (News, 2010). Before the Vietnam
War in 1962 the legal drinking age in Australia was 21. The drinking age in Australia was
lowered to 18 from 21 during the Vietnam War on the grounds that if 18 year olds could be
conscripted, they should have the right to vote and drink as well. (Urban, 2009). Therefore, the law
has been previously changed and it would be unadvisable to change the law again; these changes

Essay on Paleo Diet for Autoimmune Disorders
Paleo Diet for Autoimmune Disorders Our body s immune system protects us from infections and
diseases. When the immune system begin attacking healthy cells and tissues in the body, this can
trigger autoimmune diseases. This disorder tend to run in families and women particularly Hispanic
American, Native American, and African American have the higher risk. Treatment involves
attempts in controlling the process of the disease as well as reducing the symptoms. Medications
and supplements can be effective, while some chooses to rely in the changes of nutritional intake.

Paleo diet for Autoimmune Disorders Making nutritional changes can help in treating
autoimmune disorders. One of the most celebrated diets that has been found effective is the
Paleo or primal diet. Paleo diet is based upon eating the same diet consumed by our ancestors
during the Paleolithic period. These includes fish, grass fed meats, eggs, vegetables, roots, and
nuts. Eating natural, unprocessed foods is the basic idea in paleo diet. By making a few changes
in the paleo diet, a new diet plan emerges and this focuses on treating autoimmune disorders. This
diet plan is called Paleo Autoimmune protocol. This plan can be confusing due to numerous
information and ideas coming from different people. However, the main idea with this is to
follow the dietary restrictions as well as the recommendations strictly. For other people following
the paleo diet, they may be able to enjoy eating non paleo food occasional but for those suffering
with autoimmune diseases, the set diet plan should be strictly adhered. Here are a few guidelines
on paleo food choices for those with autoimmune diseases: Foods to be eaten Vegetables artichoke,
arugula, asparagus, broccoli, cabbage, cucumber, kale, leek, lettuce, mushroom, spinach, and

Schizophrenic Essay
Schizophrenia is a severe mental disorder of the brain. Schizophrenia also has the most negative
stigma attached to it as well. People who view schizophrenia in a negative aspect, tend to think that
schizophrenic people are all violent and unpredictable (The Leap Institute, 2013). This is not always
accurate because schizophrenic symptoms vary in drastic ways. The common symptoms of
schizophreniaare hallucinations, hearing voices, paranoid thoughts, anosognosia (poor insight),
confusion, forgetfullness, unfocused, and isolation/withdraw from others. The more negative
symptoms are a decreased motivation, lack of energy, and lack of facial expressions (The Leap
Institute, 2013).
Comer (2015) explains that schizophrenia comes in many variations with similar features (Comer,
2015). People who suffer from schizophrenia may have symptoms that may worsen and cause them
to be disorganized and dishevelled. Other schizophrenic people may have their symptoms managed
and/or hidden and may seem normal. Schizophrenic symptoms are unwanted and do not go away
but can managed. Some sufferers do not have the resources, or are unaware of their condition and
refuse to to be treated. This then causes these sufferer to not be able to deal with their symptoms

police due to the sufferers deteriorative state. Police officer s do not know how to deal with people
who have mental illnesses, so therefore people or family members have to advocate on their behalf.
This action can cause the sufferer to form a feeling of resentment towards the one s helping them

Physical Activity Level And Health Status
Benefits of Physical Activity:
Many evidences are now showing that regular exercise is an effective strategy to prevent and treat
several chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression,
and osteoporosis) [29]. It has been demonstrated that the current CPAG is sufficient to elicit health
benefits, especially in people who were previously sedentary [30]. Generally, a positive linear
relationship exists between physical activity level and health status [31]. Both aerobic and
resistance exercises have been shown to be associated with positive health outcomes [32 34].
Barriers Associated with Physical Activity:
Many barriers have been identified which attribute to why people do not exercise regularly to obtain
and maintain health benefits [35, 36]. Commitment towards family, work pressure, and time
have been rated as common barriers people face to be physically active [8]. Recent advances in
technology have resulted in an increases in time spent sedentarily, especially at work [37], but
also in leisure time [38, 39]. In addition, long hours of work is specifically a barrier for adults as
they are mentally exhausted and do not feel like exercising [40]. Specifically for older adults, fear
of getting injured from physical activity and self efficacy restricts them from being sufficiently
physically active to observe optimal health benefits [40]. In addition to these, weather conditions,
lack of transportation, poor facility,

`` Scrach Beginnngs `` By Adam Shepard And Nickel And...
Authors use rhetoric by employing many different methods and styles, but they all have one goal
in mind: To puesuade the audience. In Scrach Beginnngs by Adam Shepard and Nickel and Dimed
by Barbara Ehrenreich, there are several instances in which both authors use rehoric to puesuade
the audience to side with their side of the issue; Shepard, who believes that people can make it off
minimum wage, and Ehrenreich, would believe that it is not possible to make it off minimum wage.
The audiencemost suited would be college students or early college graduates because the main
focus of both books is surviving on a low wage with minimal resources which some of these readers
will most likely experience soon, if not already. Throughout both books, Shepard and Ehrenreich
employ methods such as strong, descriptive imagery, explaining and describing motivating
situations, and explaining past experience and qualifications which all include rhetoric which helps
persuade the audience. Both authors also use these methods to connect directly with the audience
which helps each of them get their point across most effectively.
In Scratch Beginnings by Adam Shepard, Shepard uses strong, descriptive imagery to illustrate
some of the rough scenes he must endure while completing this experiment. By doing this, he
beginning to establish an emotional connection with readers. For example, whenever Shepard states
that he is going to almost literally start from scratch with an 8 X10 tarp, a

RESEARCH PAPER ON CHRISTIANITY AND THE MAJOR DENOMINATIONS
Christianity has been the cornerstone religion since the foretold birth of Christ, 21 centuries ago.
The religion itself has gathered a following of about 2.1 billion people, which is over a third of the
world s population. However, not all of the aforementioned can be lumped under the same name of
Christianity. Today, there are almost 40,000 denominations of Christianity practiced all over the
world, each with its own unique beliefs and practices. The 2 most popular denominations today are
Roman Catholicism and Protestantism. The purpose of this essay is to examine the historical
significance of the two most predominate sects of Christianity.

People believe that the split between Protestantism and Roman Catholicism began in 1517,
when ( Ramm) Martin Luther published his ninety five Theses. Sickened by the corruption of
the Roman Catholic Church, Luther thought that the ideals of Christianity were being ignored.
He believed that the Catholic Church saw Christianity as more of a business. The activities in
the Roman Catholic Church mirrored his thoughts as they sold spots in heaven through parties,
and had pastors forgive people for their sins if offered money. Luther said that everyone should
read the bible and appreciate the religion for what it was meant to be. He daringly began
spreading his ideas of Christianity to the world. He wrote his own idea that spoke of what he
believed the religion should and posted them on the church walls itself. The message he spread
was embraced by those who saw the misdoing of the church and other that read the bible and
understood its importance. Of Course there were difficulties with the message he was trying to
spread. The church and especially the bibles were almost all in Latin and it made it difficult for
the masses to have access to these tools, even if they had access to a bible most could not read
the old Latin it was written in However, luckily or by faith the printing press, an invention from
China spread to Europe and soon the bible was accessible and readable. While many

Sacajawea is a well known American Indian woman. Her expedition with explorers Lewis and

Lemhi Shoshone tribe. At this time, the American territory ended at the Mississippi River. One
year after the Louisiana Purchase, President Thomas Jefferson sent Lewis and Clark on an
expedition that left from St. Louis, Missouri, traveling through the US Northwest, to the Pacific

the tribe. The children were educated and thought to become great individuals on day. In 1800,
Sacajawea along with other Shoshone women were kidnapped by the Hidatsa tribe. Sacajawea
and the other women were hauled from the Shoshone tribe in present day Idaho to the Hidatsa
tribe in present day North Dakota. It was when she reached the Hidatsa village when Sacajawea
was sold to a fur trader named Toussaint Charbonneau as a slave. It wasn t until later when
Sacajawea became Charbonneau s second wife. Marriage was sacred to the Shoshone people, so
despite the abuse Sacajawea stayed with Charbonneau. On February 11, 1805 Sacajawea gave birth

scatter technologies, bouncing radio waves off different layers of the atmosphere in order to
communicate beyond line of sight up to 400 miles away. (3) This system was modified to form the
tactical communications backbone for ground troops, where standard Army multi channel radios
were utilized in addition to the new troposcatter radios. Throughout the Vietnam Conflict, though,
communication between the geographically separated ground units and camps was improved
through the introduction of better radio equipment and radio retransmit systems. The milestone

Lord Peter Analysis
Lord Peter loves the thrill a new assignment can bring, just as any other person can enjoy
discovering something new or does what they truly love. People get tired of routine and of bland
circumstances, which is why Lord Peter addresses why the case he is working on does not fulfill
him. He says, Competent, of course, but no imagination. I want imagination in a criminal. (50).
When something is done with imagination, it is usually well thoughtand done. If anyone tries to
figure out how that work was gone, it is hard because of the amount of thought process that was
put in it. It is no fun to know everything because there is not any mystery or point to what is being

Examples Of Love Will Save The World Essay
Love will save the world
Love is the only force capable of transforming an enemy into friend. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Nowadays we live in a world surrounded by violence, racism, injustice, and hate. In the world
where killing an animal is worse than killing a human. In the world where teenagers commit
suicide because they are being bullied. In the world where indifference and egoism rule. For years,
we have been searching a solution to these problems. We tried blaming the governments, the society,
the economy or even the religion.
The truth is that blaming others is not the solution. We need to start analyzing our faults. Do we
care about others? Do we realize our actions affect others? Do I put my needs before the other s
needs? Now you can realize most of the time, we do not care about our sister, ... Show more content

A lack of love can cause horrible things. For example Hitler. He only cared about hate and
revenge to the Jewish. Obviously he didn t love others. He didn t like the idea of respecting

we don t want to harm the others. We want to help them, and they become our friends.
Have you realized the newspaper have more bad than good news? This situation could be
prevented by practicing love in our lives. Our society needs someone who cares for the homeless,
the murder, and the kid without an education. Putting someone before us is never easy. But is the
only way you will have the satisfaction of helping your society and saving this world.
We can start practicing love in our daily life with simple actions. It could be helping our little
brother when he doesn t understand his homework or giving a piece of bread to a poor person.
We need to teach the new generations the power of love; they are our future. An effective way is
teaching with our actions. Put others needs before you, and we ll spread the

Economic Commentary on Comcast s Prospective Acquisition...
IB Economic Commentary
Even in technology there are monstrous firms that are power thirsty and try to have the whole
market to themselves. Comcast wants to acquire Time Warner Cable for a $45 billion offer. This
is a disadvantage to the consumers because Comcast will have the position as the dominant cable
operator. Furthermore, that could lead to a decline in competitive pressure. Therefore, is it a wise
decision for the deal to be allowed to go through?
Monopoly is a single firm that controls the market of a given product. In a monopoly there is an
absence of competition, which results in high prices and inferior products. Because there is an
absence of competition and the firm has total domination of the market, the demand curve in the
entire market for the good is equal to the demand for the individual firm s output. A key
characteristic of a monopoly is the individual s firm downward sloping demand that shows that the
firm has some market power. Market power is the ability to control price without losing market
share. A monopoly s profit maximization is achieved when marginal cost equals marginal revenue.
Comcast is already a monopoly in a few states, but with the acquisition of Time Warner Cable, it
will obtain coverage of almost one third of the United States as seen in the map below (Graph 1).
With one third of the United States covered by one cable corporation, that leads to an absence of
competition. Therefore, we see in the graph below that Comcast will cause

Essay about How Attachment Develops
How Attachment Develops According to Mary Ainsworth (1989) an attachment is an affectional
bond which is a relatively long enduring tie in which the partner is important as a unique individual
(and where there) is a desire to maintain closeness to the partner Ainsworth argued that attachment
isn t an inherited behaviour (nature), but took the view that attachment is a learned process
(nurture). She agreed to the view put forward by the behaviourists to explain how all behaviour is
acquired, known s the learning theory. The learning theory is based around two principles of
conditioning; these are classical conditioning and operant conditioning. Classical conditioning

This view also states that unhealthy attachments can develop when the child is deprived or gains
too much of this attention such as food or oral pleasure. Ainsworth (1974) purposed a caregiver s
sensitivity hypothesis that concluded that the type of attachment depends on the caregiver s warm
and loving responsiveness and supposed that secure attachment was the result of mothers being
sensitive to their children. This result was concluded through a procedure known as the strange
situation which is used to discover and measure the quality of attachment. Ainsworth worked with
Bell (1970) an assessed about 100 middle class American infants and their mothers using the strange
situation this is a method of controlled observation involving observing infants with their mothers
during a set of predetermined activities. The observer records the infants and mothers behaviours
such as separation anxiety, the unease the infant showed when left by the caregiver: the infant s
willingness to explore, stranger anxiety: the Infant s response to the presence of a stranger and
finally reunion behaviour: the way the caregiver was greeted on return. They concluded from

My Research on Initial Public Offerings
As I began to do research on IPO s, I wanted to make sure that I had a clear understanding of what
exactly an IPO was. Initial Public Offering can be defined as the first sale of stock by a formerly
private company. An IPO (Initial Public Offering) can be used by either small or large companies to
raise expansion capital and become publicly traded enterprises. Many companies that undertake an
IPO also request the assistance of an Investment Banking firm acting in the capacity of an
underwriter to help them correctly asses the value of their shares, that is, the share price. http:/

Heart Of Darkness By Joseph Conrad And The Film Apocalypse...
Dark, suspenseful, and altogether brutal is what describes Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad
and the film adaption Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola. A short novella published in
1899, Heart of Darkness centers on the journey taken by the narrator Marlow up the Congo River
with a Belgian trading company. Upriver he encounters the mysterious ivory trader, Kurtz and is
brought face to face with corruption and despair. Set in the Vietnam War, the film Apocalypse Now
follows the central character, U.S. Army special operations officer Captain Benjamin L.
Willard, of MACV SOG, on a mission to kill the radical and seemingly psychotic U.S. Army
Special Forces Colonel Walter E. Kurtz. Coppola draws on Conrad s characters in order to
create Captain Willard and Colonel Kurtz, but in adapting these dynamic characters he changes
the internal and external forces both main characters endure.Coppola creates interesting parallels
between Willard and Marlow; Marlow s voyage downriver to the heart of Africa and Willard s
mission on the Nung River in Vietnam. Both men are on journey s to the darkest of places:
journey into self , and the discoveries to be made there. Both are about men confronting fears of
failure, insanity, death, and cultural corruption. However, both are also are drastically different at
times. Ronald Bogue s article The Heartless Darkness in Apocalypse Now provides a wonderful
intake on commonalties and differences in the two works. He notes that by

Three Reasons To Have Your Home s Air Ducts Cleaned
You may go for years without having the air ducts in your home cleaned. If you maintain a clean
home and change the filters regularly on your HVAC system, dust may not accumulate very fast
in the ducts. It may be difficult to know when to have your ducts cleaned since they are difficult to
see inside of. Here are some signs that it s time to have the ducts cleaned and how to go about it.
When Dust Blows Out The Vents
When dust gets so bad that you see it coming out of the register vents, that s a sure sign the ducts
need cleaned. The contractor can use a brush and vacuum to clean off the sides of the ducts and
pull the dust out of your house. When your ducts are that full of dust, you should take a look at
why. Maybe you aren t changing the filters in your HVACsystem as often as you should. Another
possible cause is letting dust accumulate in your house. To slow down the rate of dust accumulation
in the air ducts, vacuum your home regularly and keep surfaces dusted. Also, don t forget to change
the filters in your HVAC as often as recommended by the manufacturer. These steps could prolong
the time until the next cleaning is required and they could also improve the air quality in your home.

The air blowing through the ducts could potentially spread the mold spores throughout your
home. Mold spores in the air could also aggravate your allergies. You may not be able to see the
mold until the contractor does an inspection, so you should suspect a problem if you notice a
mildew odor when the AC or furnace kicks on. Mold in the ducts is not a usual occurrence, so
you ll want to know why it s there so you can remedy the problem to keep the mold from
returning. You might have a roof leak that increases humidity in the attic or there could be water
damage in your home now or in the past that wasn t dried out

Some of the challenges social workers working in a facility like Cobbs Hill Manor Hill face are
things like clients feeling as if they are being pushed, potentially by their family, to leave their
homes. Which could make them feel as though they are losing their independence, and as a result
make them difficult to work with. A social worker would need to be able to understand how to
approach the client to help them reevaluate the situation in order to see the different opportunities
that come with staying there. Other challenges include things like helping a family transition
from not being the primary care takers of the individual, and helping to locate resource an
individual needs to be able to stay and afford the care. With that being said, I believe the greatest
reward would be able to witness a client realizing that getting older does not mean it s the end of
their life, and that there are still plenty of opportunities out there for them to

The 1986 Chernobyl incident is a prime example of why we should avoid nuclear energy. The
meltdown led to an explosion the Chernobyl unit four reactor and caused a fire which burned for
ten days, releasing radioactive material over an area of 200,000 km2. The immediate results were
30 deaths from radiation within three months. Long term affects from the radiation resulted in
birth defects and shortened lifespans for many of the rescue workers who survived. According to
the World Health Organization, there are 4000 deaths related to the Chernobyl incident as of
September 5th 2005. Today, the earth within the 30 kilometer exclusion zone contains high amount
of radiation. The plants and water around Chernobyl nuclear plant also have high radioactive
contamination. Base on the report Chernobyl Accident and Its Consequences from the Nuclear
Energy Institute, this accident is caused by a defective reactor design and human error. Workers
at Chernobyl were also exposed to higher levels of radiation than workers at other nuclear power
plants. A nuclear meltdown in progress is extremely difficult to contain and past a certain
threshold a meltdown is unstoppable as in the case of Chernobyl. Workers must be extremely well
trained and careful to prevent these disasters from happening. However, human error is inevitable.

The Impact Of Media On Children s Life
Introduction Socialisation is the process an individual experiences to become a unique
individual and an active member of society. Through socialisation, individuals accept and
acquire beliefs, roles, motives, values and behaviours. The process of socialisation is influenced
by many factors including: family, school, peers, location and the media. The impact the media
has on socialisation, particularly in Western countries, is immense, as it has the ability to
influence ideas, opinions, attitudes and images to many people. The media is a macro agent in
socialisation, as it presents people with ideas and generalised views of society from beyond
their micro worlds. Family is another important agent of socialisation, as for most children, their
family is responsible for their initial socialisation process. Families have a major and long
lasting effect on children s lives. The home and the family is the first environment of learning
for the child, where a child s first acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes and values begins.
School is another important agent of socialisation. The official purpose of school is to teach
knowledge and life skills. However, students don t just learn from the academic curriculum. In
school, we also learn skills to prepare us to become functional members of society. The focus of

now in the world. This treatment does not require complicated surgical operations, the whole
procedure is done by local anesthesia. Even dressings do not need to be used after surgery, while
the recovery time is only 2 3 days. The main principle of this method is to use PDO

have always enjoyed the thought of artificial intelligence of a machine being able to think and
act on its own. It s a popular theme for novels and movies too. And who of us wouldn t love to
have a personal robot to anticipate our needs and take care of them? I even remember a production
from the local planetarium about computers worldwide that networked and synergized their data.
At the end of the production this networked computer system commanded, Let there be light! and
a new universe was born. Artificial intelligence has as many definitions as people defining it. For
some it is only a matter of a machine being able to analyze data and then take an appropriate
action. But I think for most, it means that a machine can actually think, can learn, can create, can
come up with original ideas that it can act like a person and be indistinguishable from a human
being in its actions and thoughts. If artificial intelligence is only a machine or a system acting on its
own, then a lawn sprinkler system that has

Aunty Ki Chai
As the night kicked in, on came a woman on the streets of SB Road who guaranteed she sold the
best chai in the whole of Pune. 17 years later, nothing s changed. Let s meet, Sunita Pramod
Agarwal urf Aunty Ji, a brash independent woman who s earned her fanfare and a living sitting on
the same side path of SB Road selling tea from 11:30 pm 5:00 am.
The story of how she came about to being that Aunty Ji we all love, is a rather Bollywoodish
Tale. Married 40 years ago, a frail baniya woman from Agra shifted into Nanapet, Pune. A few
years into marriage a family feud cropped up which eventually led to her and her husband moving
out of that home. It s then that her husband started selling breakfast at the same spot and when ...

Tea, cigarettes, cream rolls and cookies at a time when every shop in the neighbourhood remains
closed is her USP.
She creates Direct demand for tea, which can be credited to its quality. Derived demand for tea is
created when people who only go to her for cigarettes, order for tea to prevent their throats from
going dry. Joint demand for all permutations and combinations of her items are seen from people of
different preferences. On top of that, lack of competition makes it her monopoly. And the
monopoly is what allows her to charge exorbitant prices without the demand for it being affected
too much. She s a believer in the concept of Profit Maximization and not Sales Maximisation.
A Small Scale business, a Simple business, a Smart Business.
She Scientifically carries on her Art and caters to people making more than just a living for
herself. Which keeps me wondering again, if entrepreneurship is a science or an art? Or a science
as well as an art?
The use of an appropriate Location based on study of areas, and Timing it to perfection is what
makes it a Science. The Tea can be called a work of her art, or a recipe which involves scientific
blending of various ingredients to give you the perfect taste. Either way, it creates demand. Also
she smartly uses a marketing gimmick, i.e. she sells other commodities such as cigarettes and
cream rolls and cookies just to help the consumers

Budweiser Case
customers are not loyal to Budweiser. Therefore, they would likely do better to differentiate their
Prohibition Brew accordingly.
That being said, we recommend that Budweiser promotes their Prohibition Brew as being a new
and different product, with less emphasis on the fact that it is just like other Budweiser products.
With this new market, they have an opportunity to appeal to a brand new market with a brand new
marketing technique. There is a romantic quality associated with the Prohibition and gangsters that
they could easily capitalize on and use to their advantage especially considering the age groups of
their two markets. One group was raised on movies of Marlon Brando and
Frank Sinatra, and the other is raised in a culture where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, people who may already be loyal to the Budweiser name may try this beer and dislike
it, which could cause them to negatively change their attitudes toward the other Budweiser products
and, in turn, harm their sales. If these consumers find that the beer tastes much better than the other
Budweiser products, it could also negatively affect their sales for their other products as consumers
only buy the new beer. This would be another example of cannibalizing Budweiser s other beers
(Kotler et al., 2014).
Conclusion
In conclusion, Budweiser has an interesting offering to the market with their new
Prohibition Brew. There is a clearly distinct opening in the market for a quality non alcoholic beer
and the company can use this to their advantage. They have devised a clever name and marketing
scheme to offer at a nice low price point which is a promising start. The company should follow
the recommendations stated in this paper and also avoid the pitfalls mentioned above such as
cannibalization of the rest of their line. If they do, they will likely find great success with this new
addition to their product

Factors Influencing the Prevelence of Addiction Essay
Addiction Everyday we see and hear news articles and reviews that say: I cannot put down
Twilight... it s addicting! or I m a Breaking Bad addict! The way the term addiction is used in the
media these days, many would overlook its actual significance and the trouble it causes for millions
across the globe. Recently, many individuals have referred to addictionas anything that is a
compulsive need or habit forming, which could involve everything from substances, like nicotine
or alcohol, to activities such as reading a compelling book or getting hooked on a popular
television series. Unfortunately, the word has become overused, over diagnosed, and even used as
an excuse for one s wrong behavior. Needless to say, addiction is, and... Show more content on

The article s authors counter the Choice Model, explaining that a person cannot choose whether to
be addicted or not. They outline the path leading to addiction by emphasizing the cause as a
physical malfunction in the reward circuitry of the brain. They claim that an addict s abnormalities
in his or her reward system causes the addict to achieve the state of euphoria or high by ingesting
substances or addictive behaviors. In addition, one s compulsive behaviors and substance abuse
can hurt the reward system and result in impaired impulse control and addiction (Matesa and
Bickman), so it is a deleterious cycle. Lastly, the article espouses that the Choice Model is in
some way blaming the individual and is a setup for relapse (Matesa and Bickman). Viewing
addiction as a disease, the ASAM says, will make it easier for addicts to receive help and
conquer addiction. Proponents of the Choice Model disagree, explaining that viewing addiction
as a disease is more of a self fulfilling prophecy than a way to draw help. Alternatively, the Choice
Model counters the belief that addiction is a disease, but rather believes it is all a choice when
using substances or taking part in compulsive behaviors. Educator, ex addict, and researcher
Steven Slate first compares the Disease Theory to real diseases in his blog, Addiction Is Not A
Brain Disease, It Is A Choice. Slate comments that: In a true disease, some part of the body is

Special Pleading: Everything must have a source or creator. Example If Jesus is God s son, then
who created God? God has no creator he is eternal.

God can do anything, he can make a stone that he can t list.
Undistributed Middle Term: A specific type of error that s in deductive reasoning(The minor
premise and the major premise of a syllogism might or might not overlap) Example We are
mammals, mammals are warm blooded, and dogs are mammals so they are warm blooded

education is like cake; a small amount tastes sweet, but eat too much and your teeth will rot out.

Occurs when a writer builds an argument upon the assumption that there are only two choices or
possible outcomes out of many possible choices or outcomes. Example We go to war with Canada,
or else Canada will eventually grow in population and destroy the US
The Slope Fallacy: It says that one step will no doubt about it lead to another step and then another
which will eventually lead you to failure. Example: If we let the government to learn more about us
through our phones we will eventually have 0 privacy.
Non Sequitur: An argument that doesn t follow previous statements. Example: I hate the
government. I love Hillary
Irrelevant Conclusion: A fallacy that occurs when a rhetorician adapts an argument purporting to
establish particular conclusion and directs it to prove a different conclusion. Example: Is it good to

I Am A Designer At Heart. I Started As A Graphic Designer
I am a designer at heart. I started as a graphic designer fiddling with Adobe Photoshop and
applied my skills in Adobe InDesign for school publications. As I grow as a designer, my
perception of design has evolved into a vehicle for problem solving and innovation across
disciplines. I love everything about design: how we interact with it and how we manipulate it;
how we affect design and how design affects us in turn. I value the design process as a way of
thinking and improving, of learning how to create for ourselves and make our own mistakes.
Design takes all the thoughts floating inside my head and makes visual sense of them.
Design functions as an ongoing, evolving conversation between art and technology. Graphic design

We always seek to make our designs as beautiful as they can be. I am eager to discover what the
cities of Milan and Siena are trying to communicate through their design to the unfamiliar visitor, to
the long time resident, or to the curious explorer.
I am most excited about the part of the summer where we are tasked with designing a logo for the
program. Logos are engineered to convey as much information as possible with as little space or
decoration as acceptable. Logos must be visible and readable on a small scale, yet also attractive
enough to capture the attention of audiences on a large scale. I love logo design for what it
represents: the first, most essential line of communication between the brand and the audience. I
am intrigued by the opportunity to form my own thoughts and attitudes about the program, its
coursework, and Italy itself as it relates to my own identity. The logo will be a visual hybrid
representation of my existing design background and the experiences I will gain over the summer.
I am similarly fascinated by identity design. Identity design is the careful balancing act of
presenting something that is both cohesive and comprehensive yet also wholly captures the essence
of the brand. It must bridge the gap between originality and marketability. I have tinkered with
concepts of identity design by creating mock ups for fictional brands. I tried to

Business Letter To Taco Bell
Hello. I am a student at a high school in Ohio. Recently, our teacher gave us an assignment of
writing a business letter to a food company that makes a product we really enjoy eating or
drinking. I immediately thought of you Taco Bell. Whether it be eating you 12 box of tacos to eat
your cinnamon bites, I happily enjoy eating your foodmakes my day. Having been around you a lot
in my life, i ve grown to love more and more of your food. When taking a nice big bite out of your
Volcano Nachos or having the cheese sauce hit my lip of all your nachos my taste buds go wild.
To have eaten at TacoBell many times before you have easily became my favorite fast foodplace.
And that is why I wanted to write to you.
I first went to Taco Bell in

King Lear Fool
Shakespeare s fools are more than just court jesters. Their purpose is to provide insight and
wisdom, which they often do in a witty manner. In King Lear, by William Shakespeare, the Fool
behaves as a symbol for King Lear s rationality and sanity. Throughout the play, Lear s rationality
and sanity quickly diminishes; causing a transformation into a literal fool. After the storm, Lear s
sanity and rationalitycompletely disappear and Lear completes his transformation into the literal
fool. The Fool is not present for the remainder of the play because Lear no longer has rationality
and sanity. In King Lear, King Lear s rationality is physically manifested as the Fool; therefore,
instead of King Lear partaking in any rational behavior, the Fool... Show more content on

The Fool s purpose is to remove Lear from this dream like state by trying to force Lear to face the
reality of his current predicament. When Lear gave away his kingdom to his daughters, he gave up
the right to be treated as a king, which is the reason that Oswald called Lear My lady s father
instead of King Lear (I.iv.74). However, this reminds Lear that he is no longer King Lear, but
instead just a father with little to no power or authority. This realization became too much to
bear for Lear, causing him to behave irrationally by striking Oswald. In this situation, Lear was
being moronic for striking Oswald; since he, by technicality, did not own any property and
reduced himself to existing as only a father instead of a property owning king. Lear willingly
gave up all rights as a king. Therefore, he gave up all rights to be treated as royalty making his
actions toward Oswald, who gave Lear the respect he deserves, foolish. After this irrational
action the Fool, Lear s rationality, reappears to remind Lear that he had no right to strike Oswald
and calls Lear a bitter fool since he gave away all other titles (I.iv.133,138). This scolding shows
that the Fool is the symbol for Lear s rationality and as Lear s rationality, the Fool is required to
humble Lear when he forgets his place. Lear rationally knows that he was foolish when he gave
up all of his rights to be treated like a king. Therefore, Lear does not argue against the Fool when
he brazenly reminds Lear that he may be a Fool , but Lear is nothing (I.iv.175,176). Lear is
behaving irrationally because he is unable to accept that he no longer holds any power or prestige.
Since the Fool is the symbol for Lear s rationality it would only make sense that only he would
directly remind Lear of his current

It has become a more relevant topic today and one cannot walk away from the news without hearing a story related to gun violence either being covered or displayed on the teleprompter below. This paper will analyze three sources: an article written by Dov Cohen, titled Culture, Social Organization, and Patterns of Violence, on the trends of violence based on location, a Ted Talk given by Dan Gross, titled Why Gun Violence Cannot become America s New Normal, on the topic of gun violence and how it affected his life as well a proposition to ending violence in the U.S, and an article, Analyzing Available Data Could Help Improve Background Checks Involving Domestic Violence Records, written by the U.S. Government of Accountability Office(GAO) which covers the process of background checks within the sales of firearms. These three sources will be evaluated on the bases that they evoke a strong argument with the use ethos, pathos, and logos within their writings. In Australia many business deals have been conducted over a drink or two. In addition to the Australian drinking culture, at 18 years old you are legally an adult. Physical Activity Level And Health Status Benefits of Physical Activity: Many evidences are now showing that regular exercise is an effective strategy to prevent and treat several chronic diseases (e.g., cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, hypertension, depression, and osteoporosis) [29]. It has been demonstrated that the current CPAG is sufficient to elicit health benefits, especially in people who were previously sedentary [30]. Generally, a positive linear relationship exists between physical activity level and health status [31]. Both aerobic and resistance exercises have been shown to be associated with positive health outcomes [32 34]. Barriers Associated with Physical Activity: Many barriers have been identified which attribute to why people do not exercise regularly to obtain and maintain health benefits [35, 36]. Commitment towards family, work pressure, and time have been rated as common barriers people face to be physically active [8]. Recent advances in technology have resulted in an increases in time spent sedentarily, especially at work [37], but also in leisure time [38, 39]. In addition, long hours of work is specifically a barrier for adults as they are mentally exhausted and do not feel like exercising [40]. Specifically for older adults, fear of getting injured from physical activity and self efficacy restricts them from being sufficiently physically active to observe optimal health benefits [40]. Monopoly is a single firm that controls the market of a given product. In a monopoly there is an absence of competition, which results in high prices and inferior products. Because there is an absence of competition and the firm has total domination of the market, the demand curve in the entire market for the good is equal to the demand for the individual firm s output. A key characteristic of a monopoly is the individual s firm downward sloping demand that shows that the firm has some market power. Market power is the ability to control price without losing market share. A monopoly s profit maximization is achieved when marginal cost equals marginal revenue. Comcast is already a monopoly in a few states, but with the acquisition of Time Warner Cable, it will obtain coverage of almost one third of the United States as seen in the map below (Graph 1). With one third of the United States covered by one cable corporation, that leads to an absence of competition. Therefore, we see in the graph below that Comcast will cause ... This result was concluded through a procedure known as the strange situation which is used to discover and measure the quality of attachment. Ainsworth worked with Bell (1970) an assessed about 100 middle class American infants and their mothers using the strange situation this is a method of controlled observation involving observing infants with their mothers during a set of predetermined activities. Dark, suspenseful, and altogether brutal is what describes Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and the film adaption Apocalypse Now by Francis Ford Coppola. A short novella published in 1899, Heart of Darkness centers on the journey taken by the narrator Marlow up the Congo River with a Belgian trading company. In this scheme of things natural religion is the result of human sin, and stands in opposition to revealed or supernaturally based religion. To thrive for a viable environment of carefree living, countries worldwide gather to discuss the importance of this issue. However, with the sheer efforts of governments are not sufficient. It s a popular theme for novels and movies too. And who of us wouldn t love to have a personal robot to anticipate our needs and take care of them? I even remember a production from the local planetarium about computers worldwide that networked and synergized their data. At the end of the production this networked computer system commanded, Let there be light! and a new universe was born. Artificial intelligence has as many definitions as people defining it. For some it is only a matter of a machine being able to analyze data and then take an appropriate action. But I think for most, it means that a machine can actually think, can learn, can create, can come up with original ideas that it can act like a person and be indistinguishable from a human being in its actions and thoughts. If artificial intelligence is only a machine or a system acting on its own, then a lawn sprinkler system that has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That being said, we recommend that Budweiser promotes their Prohibition Brew as being a new and different product, with less emphasis on the fact that it is just like other Budweiser products. With this new market, they have an opportunity to appeal to a brand new market with a brand new marketing technique. There is a romantic quality associated with the Prohibition and gangsters that they could easily capitalize on and use to their advantage especially considering the age groups of their two markets. Additionally, people who may already be loyal to the Budweiser name may try this beer and dislike it, which could cause them to negatively change their attitudes toward the other Budweiser products and, in turn, harm their sales. If these consumers find that the beer tastes much better than the other Budweiser products, it could also negatively affect their sales for their other products as consumers only buy the new beer. This would be another example of cannibalizing Budweiser s other beers (Kotler et al., 2014). Conclusion In conclusion, Budweiser has an interesting offering to the market with their new Prohibition Brew. There is a clearly distinct opening in the market for a quality non alcoholic beer and the company can use this to their advantage. They have devised a clever name and marketing scheme to offer at a nice low price point which is a promising start. The company should follow the recommendations stated in this paper and also avoid the pitfalls mentioned above such as cannibalization of the rest of their line. If they do, they will likely find great success with this new addition to their product ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Factors Influencing the Prevelence of Addiction Essay Addiction Everyday we see and hear news articles and reviews that say: I cannot put down Twilight... it s addicting! or I m a Breaking Bad addict! The way the term addiction is used in the media these days, many would overlook its actual significance and the trouble it causes for millions across the globe. Recently, many individuals have referred to addictionas anything that is a compulsive need or habit forming, which could involve everything from substances, like nicotine or alcohol, to activities such as reading a compelling book or getting hooked on a popular television series. Unfortunately, the word has become overused, over diagnosed, and even used as an excuse for one s wrong behavior. Needless to say, addiction is, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article s authors counter the Choice Model, explaining that a person cannot choose whether to be addicted or not. They outline the path leading to addiction by emphasizing the cause as a physical malfunction in the reward circuitry of the brain. They claim that an addict s abnormalities in his or her reward system causes the addict to achieve the state of euphoria or high by ingesting substances or addictive behaviors. In addition, one s compulsive behaviors and substance abuse can hurt the reward system and result in impaired impulse control and addiction (Matesa and Bickman), so it is a deleterious cycle. Lastly, the article espouses that the Choice Model is in some way blaming the individual and is a setup for relapse (Matesa and Bickman). Viewing addiction as a disease, the ASAM says, will make it easier for addicts to receive help and conquer addiction. Proponents of the Choice Model disagree, explaining that viewing addiction as a disease is more of a self fulfilling prophecy than a way to draw help. Alternatively, the Choice Model counters the belief that addiction is a disease, but rather believes it is all a choice when using substances or taking part in compulsive behaviors. Educator, ex addict, and researcher Steven Slate first compares the Disease Theory to real diseases in his blog, Addiction Is Not A Brain Disease, It Is A Choice. Slate comments that: In a true disease, some part of the body is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 47. I Am A Designer At Heart. I Started As A Graphic Designer I am a designer at heart. I started as a graphic designer fiddling with Adobe Photoshop and applied my skills in Adobe InDesign for school publications. As I grow as a designer, my perception of design has evolved into a vehicle for problem solving and innovation across disciplines. I love everything about design: how we interact with it and how we manipulate it; how we affect design and how design affects us in turn. I value the design process as a way of thinking and improving, of learning how to create for ourselves and make our own mistakes. Design takes all the thoughts floating inside my head and makes visual sense of them. Design functions as an ongoing, evolving conversation between art and technology. Graphic design principles ... I am eager to discover what the cities of Milan and Siena are trying to communicate through their design to the unfamiliar visitor, to the long time resident, or to the curious explorer. I am most excited about the part of the summer where we are tasked with designing a logo for the program. Logos are engineered to convey as much information as possible with as little space or decoration as acceptable. Logos must be visible and readable on a small scale, yet also attractive enough to capture the attention of audiences on a large scale. I love logo design for what it represents: the first, most essential line of communication between the brand and the audience. I am intrigued by the opportunity to form my own thoughts and attitudes about the program, its coursework, and Italy itself as it relates to my own identity. The logo will be a visual hybrid representation of my existing design background and the experiences I will gain over the summer. I am similarly fascinated by identity design. Identity design is the careful balancing act of presenting something that is both cohesive and comprehensive yet also wholly captures the essence of the brand. It must bridge the gap between originality and marketability. I have tinkered with concepts of identity design by creating mock ups for fictional brands. I tried to ... • 49. King Lear Fool Shakespeare s fools are more than just court jesters. Their purpose is to provide insight and wisdom, which they often do in a witty manner. In King Lear, by William Shakespeare, the Fool behaves as a symbol for King Lear s rationality and sanity. Throughout the play, Lear s rationality and sanity quickly diminishes; causing a transformation into a literal fool. After the storm, Lear s sanity and rationalitycompletely disappear and Lear completes his transformation into the literal fool. The Fool is not present for the remainder of the play because Lear no longer has rationality and sanity. In King Lear, King Lear s rationality is physically manifested as the Fool; therefore, instead of King Lear partaking in any rational behavior, the Fool... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Fool s purpose is to remove Lear from this dream like state by trying to force Lear to face the reality of his current predicament. When Lear gave away his kingdom to his daughters, he gave up the right to be treated as a king, which is the reason that Oswald called Lear My lady s father instead of King Lear (I.iv.74). However, this reminds Lear that he is no longer King Lear, but instead just a father with little to no power or authority. This realization became too much to bear for Lear, causing him to behave irrationally by striking Oswald. In this situation, Lear was being moronic for striking Oswald; since he, by technicality, did not own any property and reduced himself to existing as only a father instead of a property owning king. Lear willingly gave up all rights as a king. Therefore, he gave up all rights to be treated as royalty making his actions toward Oswald, who gave Lear the respect he deserves, foolish. After this irrational action the Fool, Lear s rationality, reappears to remind Lear that he had no right to strike Oswald and calls Lear a bitter fool since he gave away all other titles (I.iv.133,138). This scolding shows that the Fool is the symbol for Lear s rationality and as Lear s rationality, the Fool is required to humble Lear when he forgets his place. Lear rationally knows that he was foolish when he gave up all of his rights to be treated like a king. Therefore, Lear does not argue against the Fool when he brazenly reminds Lear that he may be a Fool , but Lear is nothing (I.iv.175,176). Lear is behaving irrationally because he is unable to accept that he no longer holds any power or prestige. Since the Fool is the symbol for Lear s rationality it would only make sense that only he would directly remind Lear of his current ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
