This document describes the development of a smart safety vest for miners. The vest uses various sensors to monitor the miner's environment, including detecting toxic and flammable gases, measuring pulse rate, tracking location, and monitoring temperature, pressure, and humidity. The sensor data is sent to an administrator via WiFi and cloud services. This allows real-time monitoring of miner safety and health. In an emergency, medical response teams can be quickly notified of incidents and guided to the miner's location, improving chances of survival. The vest uses an Arduino Mega microcontroller along with gas detection, pulse, and location tracking sensors.
