PART 2
Arabic (plural) of Adab : meanings – “good breeding, decency,
nurture, good manners, refinement, cultured, decorum, courteous,
etiquette, propriety, social grace, to educate, discipline, the
humanities, etc.” sense of proportion and knowledge of their rightful
place in the order of things, the absence of which indicates injustice

Insha’Allah -This is a follow-up course, after completion
of 18 weeks course on the kitab “Ta’lim al-Muta’allim
Tariqit Ta’allum ” of Sheikh Tajuddin Nu’man Zarnuji

RECAP PREVIOUS LESSON

By retracing our life, we start with understanding
our basic nature as a human being - having
inherent powers and their potentialities to be
developed.

In our relationship regarding our Education – we
are to encounter, i.e. assisted by our educators -

with what is referred to as, “knowledge”.



Yet, we are born helpless and have to be cared,
nurtured, to be inculcated with discipline, taught and
developed by a Murabbi’ (EDUCATOR) – the first of
whom are our PARENTS.

Belief Submission Best or
Faith Obedience Righteous
Conviction Practice Conduct
Faith without obedience is meaningless; and obedience without Faith is
mere rituals and may even lead to hypocrisy.
Together, Faith and Obedience must lead to Righteousness with IHSAN
which essentially focus in our intention to sincerely serve Allah s.w.t.
Thus, in these three aspects can one be said to be true in his submission
to the Will of Allah (as Muslim).



II-MAN


Definition of iiman :

“Utterance with the tongue (speech);

affirmation with the heart/mind (conviction);

and manifesting through practice (actions).”

“FIGHTING is ordained for you, even though it be hateful to
you; but it may well be that you hate a thing the while it is
good for you, and it may well be that you love a thing the
while it is bad for you: and Allah knows, whereas you do not
know.”

“And most certainly shall We try you by means of danger, and
hunger, and loss of worldly goods, of lives and of [labour's]
fruits. But give glad tidings unto those who are patient in
adversity who, when calamity befalls them, say, "Verily, unto
Allah do we belong and, verily, unto Him we shall return.“
It is they upon whom their Sustainer's blessings and grace are
bestowed, and it is they, they who are on the right path!”
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 155-157)


“Say: "Never can anything befall us save what Allah has
decreed! He is our Lord Supreme; and in Allah let the
believers place their trust!".”
(Qur’an: Taubah: 9: 51)


“And [know that] if Allah should touch thee with
misfortune, there is none who could remove it save
Him; and if He intends good for thee, there is none
who could turn away His bounty: He causes it to
alight upon whomsoever He wills of His servants.
And He alone is truly forgiving, truly a dispenser of
grace.”
(Qur’an: Yunus: 10: 107)


“Whoever is easily pleased with whatever provision (Rizq) given from
Allah, Allah will be pleased with him even if his ‘amal (deeds) were
few; and to wait for relief (from Allah) itself is ‘ibadah (worship). ”
(Hadith reported by Bukhary)


RO-DwEE-NAA BIL-LAA-HI ROB-BA(N),
WA-BIL IS-LAA-MI-DEE-NA (N),
WA-BI-MUHAM-MADIN-NABIY-YA

“ We are pleased with Allah as our Lord (Sustainer),
Islam as our Religion, and Muhammad as our Prophet ”


[And,] verily, those who have attained to faith, and do
righteous deeds - it is they, they who are the best of all
creatures.
Their reward [awaits them] with Allah: gardens of
perpetual bliss, through which running waters flow,
therein to abide beyond the count of time; (RADwI-
YALLAHU) well-pleased is Allah with them, and (WA
RADwU-ANH) well-pleased are they with Him: all this
awaits him who of his Sustainer stands in awe!.”
(Qur’an: Bayyina: 98: 7-8)


“Today, those who are bent on denying the truth have
lost all hope of [your ever forsaking] your religion: do
not, then, hold them in awe, but stand in awe of Me!
Today have I perfected your religious law for you, and
have bestowed upon you the full measure of My
blessings, and willed that (AL-ISLAM) self-surrender
unto Me shall be your religion (DEEN).”
(Qur’an : Maa-idah: 5: 3)


“But nay, by thy Sustainer! They do not [really] believe unless they
make thee [O Prophet] a judge of all on which they disagree among
themselves, and then find in their hearts no bar to an acceptance of
thy decision and give themselves up [to it] in utter self-surrender.”
(Qur’an: An-Nisa’: 4: 65)

“O ye who believe! Obey Allah and obey the Messenger
and those charged with authority from among you
(ulil-’amri min-kum).”



“If ye differ in anything among yourselves, refer it to
Allah and His Messenger * if ye do believe in Allah and
the Last Day: that is best, and most suitable for final
determination.”


“(Honour) My successors, may Allah s.w.t. be Merciful towards
them!.” He was asked: “Who are your successors O Messenger
of Allah?” And he said: “They are those who revive my Sunnah
and teaches them to the servants of Allah.”

(Hadith of the Prophet s.a.w.)


“If anyone contends with the Messenger even after guidance has
been plainly conveyed to him, and follows a path other than
that becoming to men to Faith, We shall leave him in the path
he has chosen, and land him in Hell, what an evil refuge.”


“Let not the strutting about of the Unbelievers through
the land deceive thee: Little is it for enjoyment; their
ultimate abode is Hell: what an evil bed (to lie on)!”
(Qur’an: Aali’Imran: 3: 196-197)


“And contain thyself in patience by the side of all who at
morn and at evening invoke their Sustainer, seeking His
countenance, and let not thine eyes pass beyond them in
quest of the beauties of this world's life; and pay no heed
to any whose heart We have rendered heedless of all
remembrance of Us because he had always followed [only]
his own desires, abandoning all that is good and true..”
(Qur’an: Kahfi: 18: 28)


“On the other hand, for those who (are conscious and) fear
their Lord (TAQWA), are Gardens with rivers flowing beneath:
therein are they to dwell (for ever) a gift,― from the presence
of Allah; and that which is in the presence of Allah is the best
(bliss) for the righteous.”
(Qur’an: Aali’Imran: 3: 198)

“O ye who believe! Be conscious of (and fear) Allah and let
every soul look to what (provision) he has sent forth for the
morrow. Yea, fear Allah: for Allah is well-acquainted with
(all) that ye do.”
(Qur’an: Hashr: 59: 18)


“And be ye not like those who forgot Allah; and He
made them forget themselves souls! such are the
rebellious transgressors!”


“Not equal are the Companions of the Fire and the
Companions of the Garden: it is the Companions of
the Garden, that will achieve Felicity.”


“Anyone for whom Allah intends goodness,
He (Allah) makes him to suffer affliction.”


“And whoever would strive to be patient, Allah
will grant him patience; and no one is granted a
gift better and more comprehensive than
patience.”


“Verily, the greater the reward comes with the
greater affliction. When Allah loves a people, He
will subject them to the trials. If any one of them
is pleased with Allah, Allah will be pleased with
him, and if he is impatient with Allah, Allah will
be impatient to him too.”
(Hadith reported by Tirmidzi and Ibnu Majah)


“To Allah we belong to, and unto Allah
we shall all be made to return to.”
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 156)


“And take a provision (with you) for the journey, but
the best of provisions is TAQWA (being conscious of
Allah with right conduct). So be conscious and fear Me,
O ye that are wise!”
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2: 197)

“Regard your life in this world as though you are
a stranger, or a traveller upon a journey”

(Advice of Rasulullah s.a.w. to Ibnu ‘Umar r.a.)


“Work for your worldly needs, as though you are going to
live forever, and strive (also to prepare) for your
Hereafter, as though you are going to die tomorrow.”
(Hadith reported by Baihaqy


”All praise is due to Allah, who has guided us unto this;
for we would certainly not have found the right path
unless Allah had guided us!”

And salutations of Allah and Peace be upon the
Messenger of Allah and upon His household
and Companions .

“Our Lord ! Grant that our spouses and our offspring be a joy to
our eyes, and cause us to be foremost amongst those who are
conscious of Thee! (as ‘mut-taqqin’).”
(Qur’an : al-Furqan: 25: 74)

"Our Lord! pour out constancy on us and make our steps firm;
Help us against those that reject faith."
(Qur’an: Baqarah: 2:250)

"Our Lord! Give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter
and save us from the torment of the fire!"
(Qur’an : al-Baqarah: 2 : 201)

His household and Companions .

by Your Mercy, (O Allah, You are) the
Most Merciful of those who show Mercy!”
