3. • Salman was given three signs that he is the
Prophet(sws):
– 1. He will be in the land of dates
– 2. There will be physical seal on his back, between
the shoulder blades
– 3. He will accept gifts but not charity
– Salman is told Khaibar is where there is lots of
dates.
– When he tried to get there, the people he asked to
take him, they tricked him and took him as a slave
4. • Salman was then sold to some Jews who lived in
Yathrib, later known as Madina
• For decades, he lived there as a slave
• Rumors began to spread that a man claimed to
be a Prophet and he was coming to Medina
• The Yahud were scared because they thought
the king of the Arabs was coming
• Salman overheard his master and brother talking
about the Prophet coming
• He was excited and asked his master

• One day, after his chores are over, Salman goes
to the Prophet and offers him some charity
• The Prophet gives it to others but does not take
it himself
• The second day, the man brings dates and says
this is a gift. The Prophet shared it and also ate
some himself.
• Salman got excited.
• For the last sign, he tried going behind the
Prophet to see and followed him around

he lowered his shirt so that Salman could see the
seal
• Salman started crying and told the Prophet the
whole story
• The Prophet said he would help to free him
from slavery
• When Salman's owners found out that the
Prophet wanted him, they asked for a
ridiculously big price

• The Prophet helped grow those trees and then
free Salman
• Salmans story shows that there were only a few
Christians left
• Another story that shows this is the emperor

leaders, Hiracleus was one of them

Prophet sent a letter to him
• The letter said that it is from the Rasullullah

• There was a trading caravan then and he
commanded his people to summon them to
come to him
• So the Roman guards bring the Quraish caravan

• And after quizzing him, he realized the Prophet
is the one who is in the scriptures
• He was surprised because he felt that the
Prophet would come from one of the Jews and
not from the Arabs
• Hiracleus had access to scriptures that no one
else did, since he was the emperor of Rome

verify that the Prophet (sws) is the one that the
scriptures were referring to
• However he did not convert to Islam because if
he did, then he could not stay as the emperor,
the most powerful man on Earth
• So he died upon his faith
• The Prophet(Sws) looked at the world during
the time he came, and most of the world was
idoltry and sinfulness with very few exceptions

Jahiliyah
