 The traffic in city is increasing day by day due to
population improper town planning which is
making city not fit to live. We need to provide
solution for this by providing improved
transportation technique
 moves people and cargo too!
At 100 kmph along existing roads &
aesthetically, without demanding road space!
Better performance than underground metro
at one-fourth cost & up and ready in two years
Futuristic automated driver –less operations!
 This concept was first presented in bologna
university Italy by Mr. b Rajaram
 Sky bus is launched 15th oct.2003, at madgaon goa
 skyway
Standard railway coaches
running on the railway track.
The railway wheel remains
same, run on same track, the
coach is firmly attached.
 Braking
 Capacity of 20m long train unit.
 Rout capacity
 Security and safety
 Easy access
 Power requirements
 Dynamic safety is improved
 In sky bus wind cannot topple
 Derailment arresters which prevent the wheel from
jumping of the rails
 Safety air bags are provided with each coaches
 Raksha kavach will be there in each sky bogie
 Fast transportation
 Minimum land acquisition problems
 No vandalism
 No capsizing
 Construction is fast compared to other railway
 Affordable charges
 No interference with road traffic.
 No pollution
 No traffic jams
 Conventional railway
provides for heavy
steel coaches to
protect people from
derailments and
capsizing. So carry
more steel and dead
weight instead of
people.
 With total weight of 48T,
a railway can carry only
70 persons in20m length
 Sky Bus has no
such problem; no
derailment nor
capsizing; hence
uses very light
weight coaches
and carries more
people using much
less dead weight.
 Sky Bus with the
same weight & length
carries 300 persons
comfortably
 Comparative Costs for a 10 km route to carry 40,000
pass/hr:
 Underground Metro…………………Rs 2,500 cr
 Elevated Metro………………………..Rs 1200 cr
Sky Bus Metro………………………….Rs 500 cr
 A 1.6 km (1 mi) test track in margao, goa started
trial in 2004,but on 25 September, one employee
was killed and three injured in an accident when the
coaches hit the concrete track pillars. The test track
was supposed to be extended to 10.5km, but no
progress has been made since the accident, and the
system has not adopted anywhere else in India.
 Ultimately life is more precious than any other thing
hence we need to give safer transportation facility
along with it economy also play important role.
 Skybus is an improved railway technology,
eliminates the problem of city suffering from heavy
traffic.
 Pollution free & noise free transportation.
