Sky bus Metro is a suspended railway invented by Indian technologist Mr. B Rajaram. Now in metro cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bangalore, etc., the number of problems developing regarding transportation due to increase in population India, mostly in these cities. The problems are overload on public transport system, increasing vehicles two wheelers and four wheelers Sky bus is necessary to reduce overload on public transport system. And due to increase in vehicles the number of problems developed likes Traffic jam, Accidents, Pollution etc. So that by constructing the sky bus metro reduced this problem. Thus sky bus metro solve the public transportation problem in metro cities. After experiencing congestion’s and traffic jams over three decades, India finally realized her urban public transport system requires transformation for solving several problems at once and for long term. Innovation of Sky bus by Indian Railways, a Govt. owned enterprise is the outcome of this learning process. Sky bus project has been receiving support from Government, Industries as well as from various public in India. This research confirms the advantages of Sky bus innovation are tremendous. For overpopulated Indian urban areas, Sky bus seems to be the best solution for safe, quality and inexpensive mass public transportation system. After approval from concerned authorities, Sky bus will be the long term solution for public in terms of transportation in India. Sky Bus metro is in the tramway category, under Art 366 20 of the Constitution of India. Since it parallels existing roadways and within municipal limits, it is excluded from the Act. Sky Bus cannot capsize or collide. Sky Bus is based on the concept of Sky Wheels presented in 1989 at World Congress for Railway Research. Sky Bus eliminates vandalism, derailments and is virtually maintenance free. Construction cost Rs 450,000,000 per km. It is noise free and pollution free with no crossings. It can carry about 18000 people per hour per direction pphpd , scalable to 54000 pphpd as required. sustainable use of mass transit systems like commuter rails and bus transportation. An integrated transportation strategy is
most needed so that these modes of transport are integrated efficiently to facilitate the sustainable transportation. The vision of
planners is to ensure easy access, safe, affordable, quick, comfortable, reliable and sustainable mobility for all sections of the
society in our cities. The present transport system in most of the Indian cities is stressed under an urban environment which is

Sustainable New Towns and Transportation Planning; Reflection of A Case Study by Abdol Aziz Shahraki* in Advancements in Civil Engineering & Technology
There are number of limitations for evaluating sustainability of any transportation
system. Huge research work and studies has been carried regarding sustainable
transportation and sustainability indicators. But the specific decision making
methodologies for sustainability evaluation aligned with sustainability of
transportation system is missing at present. Hence it is required to develop the
framework for assessment of sustainability in terms of performance measures
considering the prefixed goals for the purpose of planning. As a part of Multi Criteria
Decision Making process, the Multi Attribute Utility Technique based methodology is
adopted as the most suitable method. In this paper the sustainability index evaluation
is based on combination of individual performance measures is carried out using Multi
Attribute Utility Technique based methodology for emerging metropolitan city of
Nagpur. The results obtained can be conveniently used in sustainability evaluation
process for any corridor. It can also be utilized for comparing the results obtained
through the sustainability evaluation for different scenarios.

Cities grow in dynamic complex patterns, creating many problems. The study area of Dombivli - Manpada road has grown haphazardly in past decade due to population xplosion. Manpada road attracts heavy traffic but due to narrow roads and inefficient transit options, it leads to severe traffic congestion, side friction, delays, stress, accidents and other problems. Alternate ropeway transit system provides a better
public transit option and plays important role in reducing use of fossil fuels thus helping fight climate change. Total travel during peak hours is expected to double from 48000 to 88000 by 2031 which needs to be supported by various public transits. Cost benefit analysis is used here for evaluating desirability of project by weighting benefits against costs. Ropeway is expected to provide sustainable development,
efficient and effective public transit option and contribute to protection and enhancement of environment.
Lack of affordable, efficient and safe transportation system has various adverse effects on the city. Inadequate malfunctioning transport, the absence of a mass transit system and paratransit against the demand of such an extensive population result in huge traffic congestion, accidents, climate change, and air pollution. Many developing countries are implementing environmental assessment methods for successful planning in congested urban areas. BREEAM is widely followed as a successful environmental method to achieve environmental sustainability. The aim of this research is to critically evaluate the possibility of implementing BREEAM’s assessment to reduce the current problems and to achieve high-quality sustainability in public transport system in Dhaka.

Dhaka is witnessing a process of urban expansion at sheer scale and speed. With the growing influx of population, the geographical boundary of Dhaka is also expanding. Satellite towns are planned at the fringe and outskirt of the city to meet the housing demand of increased population. Realizing that -in absence of efficient commuter facility this vision of decentralization of the city may be futile- a strategic transport plan (STP 2005) has been prepared recently proposing metro & bus rapid transit and construction of new link roads, circular roads and flyovers for connecting the satellite towns with the rest of Dhaka. If these towns are not (re)designed or (re)qualified to be transit oriented, the benefits of proposed transit system at community level cannot be ensured. The research finds neighbourhood TOD (transit oriented development) can be a planning approach to create more liveable neighbourhoods in suburbs of Dhaka city by reducing private car dependency while providing alternative public transport choices, safe and comfortable pedestrian pathways for fast and convenient access to transit stops and community facilities. Following that vision, this study attempts to rethink Uttara Model Township-a satellite town located at the northern end of Dhaka, with a goal to present a community vision that best utilizes the opportunity created by the proposed transit specifically, MRT, BRT, elevated express way and Western Bypass while creating new local transportation options, pedestrian-friendly environments and recreational opportunities.

The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Being an indigenous technology, it will place India on the forefront of the Rapid Transit Industry
all over the world while providing the much needed alternative transportation solution, which is
financially viable, environment friendly, synergizing well proven existing cutting edge
technologies.
Sky Bus is based on the concept of Sky Wheels presented in 1989 at the World Congress for
Railway Research by Mr. B Rajaram, Managing Director of KRCL at Bologna University , Italy
. The sky bus uses pre - fabricated latest construction technologies, which save time and money
resulting in easy execution of the project in busy urban areas without disturbing the existing
traffic pattern. All these structural engineering methods are well - proven. They have IT tools for
economical communication and control. The 3 phase asynchronous AC electrical motor used for
the propulsion of sky buses is also well proven and widely used abroad as well as in India .
The most precious asset in growing urban areas is land. After its allocation for residential and
commercial purposes hardly 6 % to a maximum of 18 % of land in cities forms road ways. The
road ways once laid almost remain constant and indeed may be effectively reduced by
uncontrolled encroachments. With the physical constraint on road area in the wake of increasing
population, the intensity of loads and traffic volumes on the roads increase. As more and more

people from different habitats try to converge on to the central business district, the road are left
with no capacity to improvise and handle the excess traffic, leading to congestion. Roads take
one exactly to the point where one wants to go. But the capacity is limited in terms of passengers
per hour that can be handled, considering speed limits and lane width limitations.
