Instruction. (all artifacts of this domain are saved in a file named Instruction )
For standards and objectives , I rated myself 3 as I need to be more aware of connecting lessons to
each other. This indicator (Aligns with the InTASC standard 1, learningdevelopment, as the teacher
designs and implements a lesson that is connected to what students have learned. I rated myself 4 in
motivating students because I believe that motivating students affect their learning positively; this
indicator aligns with standard 8, instructional strategies, as the teacher uses several strategies to
encourage students to learn. Regarding presenting my instructional content , I give myself 3
because I don t use all the materials used to teach students for a single lesson. I usually utilize the
most effective materials or methods with considering the class time; this indicator aligns with
standard 8, instructional strategies, because as a teacher, I should present the lesson the way my
students understand by utilizing the most positive strategies for their learning. For lesson structure
and pacing , I think I already come to the class preparing what I should give my students and how I

Essay about Flannery O Connor
Flannery O Connor
Mary Flannery O Connor was born in Savannah, Georgia, on March 25, 1925. Until she graduated
in 1945 she was known as Mary Flannery. At this point she felt that Mary Flannery didnt seem
suitable, on one occasion she described it as sounding like the name of an Irish washerwoman.
From this point on, she was known as just Flannery OConnor. Flannery is most recognized for her
short stories but at the same time had great interest in cartooning and drawing. She would paint
over any cracks in the walls of her home so that her mother would not cover them up with paintings
from relatives. As a student at Georgia State College for women Flannery displayed her interests in
art by painting murals on the walls of the student ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While living at this residence Flannery became sick with a incurable disease known as Lupus.
After coming to terms with her illness OConnor returned home to Geogia where she concentrated
most of her efforts on writing and less on cartooning. Wise Blood, her first novel, was finished in
1952, this was an extraordinary achievement for her. Considering her belief that she would pass
away in the preceding 3 years, OConnor devoted most of her time to writing her short stories. After
surprisingly living to see the end of the third year Flannery had completed nine short stories.
Most of what is known about Flannery after she moved back to Georgia is relayed through her
correspondence with friends and people who admired her work. One person in particular who
became very close with Flannery was a fan who had developed a friendship and companionship
over an eight year period through the exchange of 250 letters. In 1979, Flannerys close friend Sally
Fitzgerald published The Habit of Being. She used the letters that had been shared between the two
friends to help document Flannerys life. The anonymous friend OConnor had exchanged the letters
with throughout the years was not revealed until 1998 when she took her own life. It was at this
point that the public had learned the true identity of Betty Hester, the mystery correspondent.
Flannery exceeded her expectation of only living three years. While continuing to write throughout
her illness, she completed two

Impact Of Social Darwinism On Society
The real source of Social Darwinism is Herbert Spencer an English sociologist who took Darwin
s theory and applied it to how societies change and evolve over time. As a sociologist, he did not
feel the need to improve society, for he felt that societies were bound to change own its own. He
took the theory of evolutionone step beyond biology and applied it to say that societies were
organisms that progress through changes similar to that of a living species. It was his philosophy
that societies would begin simple and then progress to a more complex form. He also found
similarities between animal organisms and societies in that both had three main systems. The first
system is the regulative system for animals that would be the central nervous system in societies it
would be government... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He also created the phrase survival of the fittest due to the fact that he believed human behavior
was designed in a way that strives for self preservation. The theory of social Darwinism created the
thinking of the survival of the fittest as that the strongest and the fittest should survive and be on
top in society, and the weak should be allowed to die out. This allowed him to believe that the
rich and powerful became so because they were better suited to the social and economic climate
of the time. He believed it was natural or normal that the strong survived at the cost of the weak.
He is also perhaps best known for coining the term survival of the fittest, elaborating what came to
be known as the philosophy of social Darwinism. But, popular belief to the contrary, he did not
merely appropriate and generalize Darwin s work on natural selection; he only incorporated Darwin
s theory of natural selection into his preexisting synthetic philosophical

How Does Catherine Earnshaw Marry Edgar Linton
In Wuthering Heights by Emily BrontГ«, Catherine Earnshaw is in love with Heathcliff, a poor
orphan who has become her foster brother. Their inseparable bond helps them survive the harshness
and cruelty of their lives. However, wealthy Edgar Linton is in love with her as well, and Catherine
must choose between them. Cathy sacrifices her future with Heathcliffso that she can marry Edgar
Linton. This reveals that she is selfish enough to want a comfortable life at the expense of her true
love , but that she is also pragmatic and knows that having more money will help Heathcliff into a
better social situation.
Cathy is shown to appreciate having expensive things and acting like the Lintons. Instead of a
wild, hatless little savage jumping into the house, and rushing to squeeze us all breathless, there
lighted from a handsome black pony a very dignified person, with brown ringlets falling from the
cover of a feathered beaver, and a long cloth habit, which she was obliged to hold up with both
hands that she might sail in. (BrontГ« 101). When she talks to Nelly about why she is forsaking
Heathcliff to marry Linton, she points out that he is rich, and I shall like to be the greatest woman

Grey s Anatomy Poetry Analysis
Grey s Anatomy is a popular drama doctor show to this day. They had a music event episode
where everyone sang and they had two songs that display the symbolic cycle. Both pieces
compliment each other because of their similarities in the symbolic cycle, birth and death. The
visual display of the songs fit together because of the setting and how the music itself develops
throughout each song. These songs were chosen to be in Grey s Anatomybecause they illustrate real
life of losing someone and being blind to someone s pain they try to hide. In How to Save a Life
and The Story the composers develop the theme of life and death.
How to Save a Life takes place when surgeons are performing surgery on their close friend and

The reason Torres is performing this song is because she is in a coma and essentially her spirit
is singing to herself to make own self wake up from her coma. In the beginning since she is in a
coma, it represents death as she is at the end of the symbolic cycle, death. She starts by saying So
many stories of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west
side where she is an adult knowing everything. As Torres is singing, she is walking through the
hospital as she gets closer to willing herself to wake up. One of the reasons was her girlfriend,
Arizona Robbins, who loves her and she has her child Sofia to fight for. Her child, Sofia,
represents life and birth as she beings her symbolic cycle. Most of this song is about being
experienced as Torres says she has climbed mountain tops and swam all across the ocean blue
and by her saying this, she is motivating herself to wake up and be strong for everyone. Also she
talks about how everyone around her is ignorant. And all of my friends who think that I m
blessed, they don t know my head is a mess. No they don t know who I really am . This quote
from the song proves her point how no one realizes how much she has been struggling in her life
and how she has had that pain of experience and depression from everyone. The song starts the
same as How to Save a Life with a calm and softer beginning. As

The Pianist Invasion Scene
In the film The Pianist , directed by Roman Polanski, three important scenes are the invasion
scene, the Hosenfeld scene and the concert scene. These scenes are important because they show
the three main points in the movie. Roman Polanski, a Holocaust survivor himself, uses colour,
symbolism, music, lighting, and camera techniques to display the key ideas and purpose of the
film, survival and the re creation of one man s struggle respectively. The film is heavily
influenced by Polanski s personal experience, making it very vivid through the use of low key
editing to rebuild the story exactly as it was. The Pianistis about a famous Jewish pianist who
survives the holocaust through luck and his love for music.
In the invasion scene, when ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He then spends years in hiding and nearly dies of starvation, until he meets Wilm Hosenfeld. The
idea of music being Szpilman s saviour is also portrayed in the Hosenfeld scene, where he meets
and plays piano for a German officer. The audience sees an over the shoulder shot of Szpilman
playing piano for the German officer, Wilm Hosenfeld. The shot is over Hosenfeld s shoulder,
and we can see a beam of moonlight illuminating Szpilman and his hands. Szpilman looks very
dirty and extremely skinny, nearly to the point of death. The audience learns that Polanski uses
lighting consistently throughout the film to signify the importance of pianos to Szpilman, as
light is repeatedly shone on his hands whilst playing piano, this is demonstrated in the Invasion
scene. The composition in this scene is important because Szpilman is facing the opposite way
to what he was in the invasion scene when he was on the piano; this is to show that Szpilman s
life has turned around. The ragged and dirty costume also makes the audience draw a
comparison to the invasion scene where he has an expensive looking, clean, sophisticated suit
on, also emphasising that his life has gotten significantly worse. We then see Hosenfeld back
away from the piano and sit down to watch Szpilman play. This makes the audience realise that
Hosenfeld is not going to kill Szpilman as he is a good German, showing Polanski s idea of
good Germans and bad Germans and furthering the idea of the piano being his saviour, because
we do not know what Hosenfeld would have done if Szpilman was not the amazing pianist he is.
This is an example of the human race wanting to survive, and that we come across many trials and
tests in our lives and when it comes down to it, we will pull

Moving Away From Classical Chemotherapeutics
Moving away from Classical Chemotherapeutics:
A Review of Recent Advances in Targeted Chemotherapy
As an elegant manipulation of the cell cycle, cancer pathways have demanded significant attention
by the world s researchers. From molecular biology to inorganic chemistry, each field has
conducted a variety of studies to elucidate the pathways cancer manipulates in order to develop
successful treatments. To this end, chemotherapy emerged as a prominent research field in the early
1960s and is a type of cancer treatment that uses drugs to stop or slow the growth of cancer cells.1
Classical chemotherapeutics began with cisplatin and expanded to develop more potent second and

With a change in focus, recent advances in this field have led researchers to develop targeted
anticancer agents that have the potential to reduce the side effects associated with classical
chemotherapeutics, which include nephrotoxicity, neurotoxicity, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia,
nausea, vomiting, and hair loss.5,6 A promising advancement in chemotherapeutics is the
development of therapy that targets various biomolecules that are associated with cancer. Known as
targeted therapy, this offers significant potential for increasing selectivity by synthesizing
compounds that are directed towards cell signaling pathways known as important for cancer cell
immortalization.7 Moreover, targeted therapy shows promise with synthesized drugs directed for
cancer biomarkers because it will increase selectivity to damage cancer cells instead of healthy
cells.8 The early generations of chemotherapeutics largely focused on creating more potent metal
complexes, analogous to the structure and function of cisplatin.4 However, with targeted therapy as
a promising advancement, the next generation of chemotherapeutics instead focuses on selectivity
in the preparation of transition metal complexes that are directed toward specific biomolecules that
are known to advance cancer cell

order to maintain and grow the nations security, workforce and economy, 3million migrants from
Italy, Greece, and other European countries immigrated to Australia, in accordance with the White

Currently the competitive forces in the movie rental marketplace are not very strong. There are not
very many players seeking to gain share in the market. The only competitors that come to mind
when thinking of the movie rental marketplace are Netflix, Blockbuster and Red box. The

of receiving the same services and more than likely the same quality of services elsewhere.
Whether it is choosing to stream videos online, watching them via Pay per View or On Demand it
is truly a buyer s market considering the services rendered aren t considered necessities.
V. Barriers to Entry
It appears that Netflix has control over the vast majority of the movie rental business. Consumers
are renting less than they used to and the convenience that Netflix incorporates into its service, such
as online streaming and mail orders eliminates other competitors from considering entering the
movie rental business.
2. What forces are driving changes in the movie rental industry? Are the combined impacts of these
driving forces likely to be favorable or unfavorable in term of their effects on competitive intensity
and future industry profitability?
The forces driving change in the movie rental industry are as follows:
the economy
cheaper and more convenient alternatives such as cable/ satellite providers offering recordings via
DVR, cell phones, tablets and other electronic devices
Vast changes in technology.
The forces that are driving change are more than likely going to be unfavorable to the movie rental
industry considering the convenience and included perks of choosing them. I ve had experience in

The Era Of Discrimination By Jane Austen
The Era Of Discrimination Feminism can be defined by three major components: social, political
and economic equality of the sexes. Throughout history, women have battled to gain equality with
men. Elizabeth Bennet and other women have been suppressed from opportunities merely because
of their gender and have fought to be considered as equals to men. Women are far more than
someone s wife or daughter, they are more than just their counterparts, they are human beings.
From a morality standpoint, Elizabeth and other women should not be married off based on the
need of survival but for the need of wanting to be married for true love. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane
Austen, displays feminism through the aspects of women s dependence on men, class snobbery, and
alienation.
In the 1800s, women s sole purpose in life was to find a suitable husband, women had no other
choice but to depend on a man for certain needs and wants. Most feminist studies have
represented Austen as a conscious or unconscious subversive voicing a woman s frustration at the
rigid and sexist social order which enforces women s subservience and dependence. (Morrison,
337). The protagonist in the novel, Elizabeth Bennet defies the social norms of the 1800s by not
wanting to marry solely for economic gain. For example, Elizabeth is impoverished and needs to
marry a man with good wealth but she realises that with being in a loveless marriage comes with
unhappiness. The daughters of the Bennet family had

A Literary Analysis Of DпїЅsirпїЅe s Baby By Kate Chopin
A Literary Analysis of DГ©sirГ©e s Baby DГ©sirГ©e s Baby , a short story written by Kate
Chopin, delves straightaway into serious matters one such example is the racial and gender
injustices that occurred during the era of slavery. The plot follows the life of a young woman,
DГ©sirГ©e, from her mysterious and unknown origins to being the wife of a wealthy aristocrat.
Her life is suddenly shattered when she realizes that, to her horror, her son s features resemble the
ones of the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery. Chopin uses many literary devices
throughout her text, such as setting, symbolism, theme, and irony to illustrate to her readers how
inherent prejudices, be they of race or gender, negatively affect all factions involved in the
respective affair, rather than only those deemed inferior.
Firstly, Chopin establishes the setting in the southern state of Louisiana sometime before the Civil
War. This historical setting affects the thinking and beliefs of majority of the characters in the
short story. Armand no longer loved his wife simply because of the unconscious injury she had
brought upon his home and his name . That is, Armand did not care for his wife and child because
he believed and considered them to be an inferior race. The idea that he brought blacks into his
home and made them his family not only disgusted him, but brought him shame. Another aspect
that characterized the setting was the use of the word bayou , a common Louisiana word. In the end

How Does Indecision Affect Hamlet s Mind
Having your head in the clouds is an idiom that describes Hamlet in a fashion that no other idiom
or description can. Throughout the play Hamlet, Hamlet never seems to be thinking clearly and
can not decide how he feels or what he wants to do. One day Hamlet is singing a song of joy and
the next showing fiery feelings through his own soliloquy. Shakespeare purposefully uses Hamlets
indecision, to show the audience how one s inner struggle can affect their thoughts and decisions.
Hamlet s indecision is seen throughout the play, but during one soliloquy it is most prevalent.

Hamlet has so far not been true in the revenge of his father s death. This due in most part to his
indecision. Hamlet specifically thinks, Now, whether it be. Bestial oblivion, or some craven
scruple. Of thinking too precisely on th event (4.4.38 40). Hamlet explicitly says that even he
knows the reason for not being able to revenge his own father s death. The indecision of killing
Claudius as laid a seed of inner struggle within Hamlets heart that is slowing growing and changing
his decisions. This inner struggle has caused even Hamlet to admit that he his being consumed by
his own thoughts. Shakespeare specifically has Hamlet reference his thoughts so that the audience
knows that his thoughts are being consumed. The other parts of the play with indecision are still

Local resources Tourism in India can create great pressure on local resources like energy, food,
and other raw materials that may already be in short supply. Greater extraction and transport of
these resources exacerbates the physical impacts associated with their exploitation. Because of the
seasonal character of the industry, many destinations have ten times more inhabitants in the high
season as in the low season. A high demand is placed upon these resources to meet the high
expectations tourists often have (proper heating, hot water, etc.). Land degradation Important land
resources include fertile soil, forests, wetlands and wildlife. Increased construction of tourism
facilities has increased the pressure on these resources and on scenic landscapes. Direct impact on
natural resources in the provision of tourist facilities can be caused by the use of land for
accommodation and other infrastructure provision, and the use of building materials. Forests often
suffer negative impacts of tourism in the form of deforestation caused by fuel wood collection and
land clearing. For example, one trekking tourist in Nepal can use four to five kilograms of wood a
day. PHYSICAL IMPACT OF TOURISM IN INDIA Physical impacts of tourism development

The Importance Of A Career In Computer Engineering
Ever since the seventh grade I was always interested in building a computer. All my friends were
playing videogames on their computers and, so I wanted to build one. They were way too
expensive, so I never got the chance. I enjoy fixing computers and helping my family with their
technical issues. Everything is run by electronics these days, so I might as well get good at using
them and seeing how they work.
In the career field of engineering, there is a broad field and offers several alternative career paths.
Those interested in working with engineers and developers to create the code for software
programs and systems should consider a career in computer programming. After reviewing plans
and operational diagrams from software developers, programmers use specialized tools and
programming languages to produce the finished product. They also analyze and test existing
products to identify and repair errors ( Alternative Careers ).
Computer hardware engineer is another possible career route in this industry. As the name implies,
this career focuses on creating, improving, and evaluating the various parts that make up the
computers and computer systems such as routers, memory boards, central processing units, video
sound cards, network components, etc. More than likely working in a laboratory building, testing
ideas and the involvement in the manufacturing or the installing aspect of this industry. However,
due to industry focus on advancing software, the BLS projected that

Examples Of Rite Of Passage
I interviewed my Mother s rite of passage she experienced going from single to married. She
explained that Vietnamese weddings are one of the most important ceremonies in Vietnamese
culture. Marriage is a big step that changes a Vietnamese woman s life because marriage is the time
they leave their own house and familyto enter to a new house and new family. My mothersaid she
was very nervous at that time because she did not know how her life will be at the new house with
her husband s family. I asked her how she knew my father. She said that my grandmother

A few days before the wedding, my father and his family visited my mother and her family with
round lacquered boxes known as betrothal presents. It composes of areca nuts and betel leaves,
tea, cake, fruits, wines and other delicacies which covered with red cloth and carried by
unmarried girls or boys. The gifts brought by the bridegroom to be are placed on the ancestral
altar. Joss sticks and lights are lit and incense is burned. My mother and father ceremonially
bowed before the altar. After this, my mother went to another room and my father took over the
entertainment of the guests, acting as a member of my mother s family. After a long period of
time, my mother s father removed the gifts from the altar, thanked everyone, and divided the
edible gifts into two parts, one smaller than the other. The smaller part was given back to my
father s family indicating that they have been far too generous and that my mother s family is not
greedy. This also indicates good luck and a close alliance between the two families. Later, the other

Lab Report Catalase And Hydrogen Peroxide
In this lab we used catalase (enzyme), and this enzyme was a catalyst used to breakdown the
hydrogen peroxide. An enzyme will bind with a substrate, then form an enzyme substrate complex,
and then the new products then leave the enzyme. The enzyme binds with the substrate in the
active site. The active site is where enzymes act. Enzymes do not undergo permeant changes during
the reaction, (ch302). The catalyst is not part of the reactant, instead it is added to the reactant to
speed up the reaction. The catalyst overall will lower the activation energy for the reaction. This is
because the enzymechanges the way the reaction happens, (Enzyme and...). In our lab the enzyme
sped up the breakdown of the hydrogen peroxide. Instead of the

Richard Wright s Writing Style
It is probably a mere accident that I never killed, states Richard Wright during an interview.
(Kinnamon 596) Often times, an alternative people would turn to would be violence in a way to
escape the world they lived in, but one man held so much inspiration over a society that was and
still is shaded by prejudice. What many fail to realize is one can transform the direction of the
way society works simply by using words. Because of Richard Wright s writing style, he depicts
the racism and bigotry set in American society in his novel and writes this story by using
examples of his personal experiences to create an impact for the later generations. Since Richard
exited his mother s womb, he had to undergo bigotry and unseen detestation from white
southerners because of his color (Hart 35). Starting his first day of life on September 4, 1908,
Richard Wright overcame several impediments and later became one of the first famous African
American authors. The Wright family lived in Natchez, Mississippi, and his parents worked, during
his toddler years. Nathaniel Wright, Richard s father, was a sharecropper. He labored for the rich
plantation owners, while Richard s mother was a school teacher. (Shuman 1697)Because of the
constant beatings, Wright was obedient to all types of authority but anxiety and distrust formed in
his mind. Richard unintentionally set his grandparents house Francois 2 on fire, but instead of
fearing the very thing that could burn and kill him, he placed

Pro Minimum Wage
People all across America believe that minimum wage is a good thing and helps people without an
education have a normal life, however others believe it is causing poverty and homelessness among
the citizens. Minimum wage was made to provide enough money to live just above the national
poverty line. But over the years the cost of living has increased while the minimum wage hasn t.
Today, the national minimum wage is $7.25, which is less powerful than the minimum wage was in
1968. This is because the minimum wage was $1.60 per hour, which seems low but back then $1.60
was enough to support a three person family, whereas today the minimum wage can barely support
one person. All throughout the U.S., workers have been fighting for a higher minimum... Show

workers are making money, businesses and companies will strive and flourish from a fair

The Role Of Political Machines In The Early 19th Century
Political machines were a very corrupt but necessary group during the 19th century into the early
20th. They were a local political party organization that made it possible to get a large number of
voters out to get their candidate elected. Political machines were appealing to immigrants and other
poor people living in the cities as much as they were important to the politician they got elected.
There were 3 components to the political machines: the county committee, the ward or precinct
leaders and the party loyalists. The county committee members were those that held the top offices
in the county political party. People like Thomas J Pendergast from Kansas City, James Michael
Curley in Boston and Richard J Daley from Chicago. At this level they controlled the party s
nominations, the money and the votes. Much of their power came from the people that they got
elected that owed them favors for the votes.
The ward and precincts were where most of the action took place. A precinct is the smallest
district for electoral votes and a ward is how a city is divided. There were committeemen and
captains at this level. People working at this level very often were given government jobs for the
work they did for the party. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Part of the reason was the beginning of the progressive era. With the start of civil service merit
to get government jobs the ability to reward a worker with a good job went away and with that
the power of the political machine did too. Without the jobs to give, the workers went away. With
the progressive era came the beginning of social services and welfare so no longer were the
political machines necessary to provide for the residents in their ward. Another reason is that
primary elections were beginning to put a damper on the ability of the political machine to appoint
the nominee they wanted to run for

Elvis And Johnny Cash Essay
Historically, genres of popular music have undergone dramatic changes due to changing technology,
social relationships with historical events, ideas and practices and the changing demographics of

John Winthrop Contributions
My paper will be on John Winthrop who I chose because of the impact he made on America as
we know it today and because of his Christian background and influence. I was initially interested
in him because he was one of the major players from Europe who caused this nation to be
founded under God, if you will, and is clearly an influential man in American history. Now that I
have read more about him I realize he played an even larger role than I imagined. John Winthrop
left all that he knew to go spread the gospel and create a city on a hill to shape a nation and
despite all the hardships he faced, he never abandoned his efforts or ideals and that is a man I
would love to talk to and learn from. John Winthrop is a significant figure in American history
because he, along with a few others, laid the foundation for America as we know it today and put
in place many of the ideals and principles that we still base our government and lives on in the
present. Winthrop was with the group who were the first to govern a colony from within the colony,
helped introduce and influence the people to adopt a government in which the people ruled and
elected those making the laws and ruling over them, introduced the idea of separation of Church
and State, helped establish a program of public and private education and a grammar school in
Bostonas early as 1635. Some people even call John Winthrop the Father of New England and
America s Forgotten Founding Father. If I could actually come face to face with John Winthrop,
one of the questions I would ask him is Why he would move to America to start the Massachusetts
Bay Colony when he was doing well where he lived in England and knew the great risks of
going? To this question, I believe that Winthrop s initial and main reason would be that it was
God s plan and purpose for him in order to spread the gospel into those parts of the world and
become an example, a city on a hill, for the rest of the world. I believe he would answer this way
because of the things he writes in a Model of Christian Charity and because he had come upon
some hardships in England around this time that he said he believed were God s way of preparing
him to be willing and open to

The Pros And Cons Of Photocopiers
The 21st century has in many ways been defined as the century of innovation, especially in the
emergent field of technology, and science has been an essential contributor to this. Electricity has
been an important factor to invention. Static electricity is a form of electricity that has enabled the
creation of printers, spray paint, pollutant removers and photocopiers. In this essay, I will discuss
static electricity, photocopiers, and how they play a role in the speed of mass production. I will
also illustrate the photocopier s advantages and disadvantages, and its implication for society.

Photocopiers entertain built in hard drives that are comprised of confidential project information.
Even if one gets a private area to copy confidential documents, the documents remain stored in the
photocopier (fig 6). Therefore it is necessary to decommission the copier and clear the hard drive
before someone else uses it, so that the previous information cannot be accessed .
Photocopiers play a role, even if indirectly, in impacting the environment. We are increasingly
living in an era of pollution and scarcity of fundamental resources. One of these important and
overused resources are trees. The paper making process places burden on some of our most
important natural resources, as the production of paper uses large amounts of energy and water.
The photocopying process also uses chemicals, such as chlorine, , which can cause damage to the
environment. In addition, The United Nations Environment Programed (UNEP), has stated that
paper in landfills can produce toxic greenhouse gases such as methane, which traps up to 21 times
more heat than carbon dioxide . To reduce some of this negative impact, double sided printing was
introduced; it consumes less paper and waste, double sided printing is more environmentally
friendly and economically sound. It also speeds up the mass producing

Literature Review Of Royal Jelly
REVIEW OF LITERATURE Royal jelly (RJ) is a honeybee product secreted from the
hypopharyngeal and mandibular glands of the worker honeybees. It contains a mixture of very
important compounds that give it therapeutic and nutritional properties. These compounds as
protein, glucose, lipid, vitamins, minerals, aspartic acid, gelatin, sterols, phosphorous compounds,
acetylcholine, nucleic acids, and numerous trace ingredients. The ingredients are in the form of
water, crude protein and monosaccharides. The remainder of the royal jelly is composed of an
ether soluble fraction of fatty acid (Galaly et al., 2014).
Royal jelly is a viscous jelly substance which is partially soluble in water with a density of 1.1 g
/ ml. Its colour is whitish to yellow, the yellow color increases upon storage. Its odor is pungent,
the taste being sour and sweet. Old RJ, which stored for long time tends to be darker and possess
a rancid taste. For optimum quality, RJ should be stored in frozen state. According to water
content, the viscosity of RJ varies and it slowly becomes more viscous when stored at room
temperature or in a refrigerator at 5ВєC. The viscosity of RJ increases with increment of water
insoluble nitrogenous compounds and a reduction in soluble nitrogen and free amino acids
(Ramadan and Al Ghamdi, 2012).

The Last Judgement Michelangelo Analysis
Lot of people asked how did the art on the wall of the Vatican. It s actually called the last
judgement. A little background information of this is that; The Last Judgement by Michelangelo
covers the wall behind the altar in the Sistine Chapel. The work depicts the second coming of
Christ and, although the artist is clearly inspired by the Bible, it is his own imaginative vision that
prevails in this painting.
The picture radiates out from the center figure of Christ, and Michelangelo has chosen to depict the
various saints included in the work holding the instruments of their martyrdom rather than the
actual scenes of torture.
When executing his Last Judgement it would seem that Michelangelo had been given artistic
licence to paint scenes, not only from the Bible, but also from mythology. This shows great faith in
the artist by his patron, Pope Paul III. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Cross Cultural Communication Essay
The three cultures that are involved in cross cultural communication are the Missionary s Culture
Context, the Bible Culture Context, and the Respondent s Culture Context. The Missionary s
culture is a missionaries understanding and interpretation of the Bible according to their upbringing
in the gospel, and their traditions. For example, I grew up in the Methodist Church, and singing
hymns is a part of our worship and culture. Some modernize Churches do not necessary care for
hymns, because it seems to turn off the younger generation from attending Church. Therefore, the
modern Church may only sing a hymn on a special occasion to honor their heritage, but they do
include hymns as part of their weekly worship. Nevertheless, no matter the cultural differences
God loves diversity (Winter, 2009, p. 354). As I reflect over my culture there is not too much
difference in the Bibleculture, we praise and worship, fast and pray many are still judgmental and
prejudice, and slander and cheat. Ecclesiastes 1:9 states History merely repeats itself. It has all been
done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Therefore, in my opinion the cultureonly changes
when we change. Unfortunately, some people cast believers to the side when we do change, but
now as I reflecting on this topic, it really just gives us an opportunity to create a more Christ like
culture, the way God intended it to be since the beginning of time.
The Bible Culture Context is the foundational key to

Fun Guy was inhaled and he was thrown down the esophagus. He had been inhaled into Dewey s
lungs. This was great news for Fun Guy because he had gotten into a human. After a few days
Fun Guy had caused serious problems to Dewey s chest. He heard Dewey shouting dad this burn
hurts so bad and this rash is killing me. Now Fun Guy knew that he had done his job and caused
pain to innocent humans, but he was satisfied because he had done his job. Now all he had to do
was wait for Dewey to cough and he would be inhaled again. Now that Fun Guy s job was done he
was able to start exploring the area he was in. He saw that it was very dark and musty. He reached
around his moldy pockets and found a small flashlight. When he turned it on he saw that he was
in an area of plain pink. The area he was in was a very small and dull area inside of the left

Alabama Short Stories
In Alabama, in the country, next to a dirt road and a muddy lake that was full of green water,
where you couldn t go to sleep because the frogs croaked too loud, there was a large house. The
large house was made of splintery wood, and was inhabited by only one person. Now, the lake
that his house was built on had been where a boy named Ronald Pratt had been ran over after
removing the bricks from in front of the wheels of a flaming portable, saving the lives of many
kids after the portable rolled into the lake and the fire was extinguished. One day, the man who
owned the house was in his bed at 8:30 pm and he heard a whisper. He couldn t make out any
words, but he heard it all right. He pulled out a flashlightand grabbed his rifle to go and... Show

Five minutes later, he had drowned. A week later, detectives came to investigate his death. They
found it odd that he had drowned in water just shy of a foot deep. The officer knew how to swim:
they had seen him complete triathlons. So what had happened to him. They decided to question
the man living in the house. He claimed that there was a ghost in the lake, and that the officer
must have been killed by it! The detectives found this preposterous, and dismissed the man as
crazy. At 11:00, the detectives were still there. They heard the whispering. Maybe the man was
right! They thought. Maybe there WAS a ghost. They left with a report saying that he drowned,
but they didn t know why. In the end, the man moved away from his old house by the lake. The
county renamed the lake from Lake Fletcher to The Haunted Lake. Over the years, three foolish
men waded into the lake. All died in the shallow water. The county put signs up saying NO
SWIMMING. The lake became a popular tourist attraction, and visitors would come from all over
the south to see the Haunted Lake. Also, no one s been swimming in it ever since. You would

Adhesive Capsulitis Case Studies
The patient in question for this case study is a forty three year old female who works as an
administrator, and plays badminton twice a week and has been suffering with right shoulder pain
and stiffness. Assessment confirms a diagnosis of right adhesive capsulitis.
The pain for her began approximately 10 weeks ago upon waking and for no known reason, this
shows that she is at the early stage of the condition (frozen stage 2) and is experiencing pain with
limited movement and stiffness. The pain is now easing but glenohumeral joint range is restricted
to 90 degrees flexion and abduction, 5 degrees medial rotation all with a hard end feel. An
important factor that was noted down from the assessment

Ecstasy And Inquisition Analysis
In these primary sources, heresy and inquisition are the subjects of discussion. The two sources are
translated from Castilian by Roland Surtz. In the first source: A. Descriptions of Two Autos de Fe
(1486), the author primarily focused on retelling the two events that took place in Toledo. The
second source: B. Inquisitorial Trials of Ines Lopez, recounted her confessions, arraignment, and
questionnaire for Tachas Witnesses. Benefits of using these source to support an argument would
be that it provides an exact name. On the other hand, similar to all other court documents from this
time, it is unclear how precise the information about Ines Lopez is and if there was any degrees of
fabrication. Considering there are most likely a few to none texts denying the Spanish Inquisition,
one obvious historical fact of these text is that the Inquisition absolutely existed.... Show more

For that reason, and because these sources were translated from Castilian, one can infer that the
author is likely Christian and that these sources were written in order to protect the reputation of
the Church. Several examples that indicate repetition include, but are not exclusive to: were
brought to the plain [outside the church], they were burned... , the church was forbidden to carry
out the sentence of blood , ... she be turned over, to secular authorities to be burned at the stake in

The Creation Of Man ( Ge )
We have read about the creation of man (Ge. 1 2), education and punishment from God unto Man
(Ge. 3 4), and lastly God s Covenant with man through Abram (12 22). In the movie; Karate Kid,
Daniel moves to Southern California with his mother but finds himself as the target of a group of
bullies that happen to take karate classes at Cobra Kai; giving them an advantage at fighting.
Daniel later seeks the help from his apartment s repairman, Mr. Miyagi; who happens to be a
master of karate. God s relationship with man is not static but evolving, just as the relationship
between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi because of the principal of listening, and following covenants made
between different parties.
We have read about God s creation of man; Adam and Evein Genesis 1 2, God s education and
punishment of both Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 4, and lastly God s Covenant that he made with
Abraham; the representative of man, in Genesis 12 22. In Genesis 1 2, God creates the first man
named Adam. From Adam, the first woman is created, Eve. So God created mankind in his own
image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Ge. 1:27) In this
passage, God creates male and female in the image of himself. While Eve was in the Garden of Eden
, she was tempted by a serpent that tricked her with a piece of fruit from the tree of knowledge
and life. This action of temptation leads to the banning of both Adam and Eve from the Garden of
Eden. This is where we learn about the

The Book Thief And V For Vendetta
Autocracy in a government calls for rebellion due to the lack of control and corruption. As a result
the many representations of significant values are elucidated in the novel The Book Thief by
Markus Zusak and the film V for Vendetta by James McTeigue emphasising the concepts of
totalitarianism and rebellion by subjected governments. The Book Thief parallels with the
contextual influences of the Nazi Party ruled by Adolf Hitlerin the 1930s. Whereas V for Vendetta
draws a direct correlation from the horrendous acts in Iraq governed by George Bush subsequent
to the infamous attack of 9/11. V for Vendetta is a mirroring film of the contextual influence of the
terror attack of 9/11 in 2001, during George Bush s presidency. It... Show more content on

It represents the significant idea that it allows people to come to a realisation that values such
as rebellion occurs due to the manipulation and wrongful domination of the government.
Furthermore, the rebellious acts presented within V for Vendetta is also showcased through the
Book Thief, in which Zusak successfully displays the contextual influences of the Nazi s party.
Its purpose is to further gain understanding of the impact of rebellion in the representation of the
significant idea that there is always beauty in the wake of brutality. If we re fast we won t get
caught. He started dispersing the bread. Through the effective use of a determined tone by
Rudy, as well as the bread being a symbolism of hopes suggests that amongst all their tragedies,
there is always a glimmer of hope to reunite and make world peace. Through Rudy s
determination of providing bread to those weaken Jews, it tells people that even though he is
afraid, he still wants to help others as he was not cold hearted like the government. Hence, this
act was a rebellious act as the Germans were suppose to discriminate and hate the Jews. There
were supposed to be treated in a tortuous ways like animals. The bread is a symbolic feature as it
is the key in nourishing and rebelling against the oppressive government. The giving of the

Financial Strategies of a Company
INTRODUCTION TO FINANCIAL STRATEGIES OF A COMPANY It is important for a
business to have a clear financial strategy. This is true for both new companies and those with a
long history. The strategy constitutes your company s guiding principles in all its financial
decisions. Different scenarios demand varying strategies for the business. Of course the strategy
must be re evaluated whenever the business undergoes changes in its financial circumstances.
Factors involved When you plan your financial strategy, these are some of the factors you should
consider: * Future need for liquidity * Future cash flow * Relation between assets and liabilities *
Your company s risk profile * Time horizon * How your... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason for this special significance is found in the speed with which growth by merger can
proceed. It should be clear from the analysis of earlier chapters that neither extensive acquisition
of existing firms, nor entrepreneurs bent on achieving monopoly and dominance are necessary
for the explanation of the emergence of large and dominant firms. EXCHANGE RATE
UTILISATION AND ADAPTION It was observed during the recent emerging market crises that
as soon as an inflexible exchange rate and other financial sector weaknesses became apparent in
an economy, institutional investors and currency speculators were attracted toward it, making a
currency crisis imminent (Das 1993). Exchange rates create a risk to a business like Unilever. A
bad exchange rate creates the need for Unilever to increase the prices; a positive exchange rate
gives a firm the chance to earn more income. Unilever always monitors the financial status of the
country they operate in, it always checks for any changes in the exchange rate and other economic
indicators. The company s local strategy is based from the exchange rate. Since exchange rates are
unpredictable, Unilever makes sure that it has contingency plans to ensure that any abrupt change
in the exchange rates would not cost

Descriptive Essay About Breakfast
Every morning, my son Pete wakes up at 6:30 AM. I have 2 ВЅ hours to get us both ready for the
day, which seems like it should be plenty of time. But each day the nanny arrives at 9, and I m
never ready to leave! So I started making these freezable breakfast sandwiches to help me get out
the door faster.
I m a personal chef, so I m really fast in the kitchen. Before I had Pete, I never really understood
why people said that they didn t have time to cook breakfast in the morning. Scrambling an egg
takes no time at all! But now I realize, you have to clean the pan, the spatula, your plate, and also
eat the eggs with a fork in your kitchen, all while trying to wrangle the baby in the other arm. In this
new reality, minutes matter.
Finding a quicker breakfast solution
So I wanted a quicker and cleaner way to get my fuel in the morning. While oatmeal and granola
can be nice occasionally, my go to breakfast will always include eggs. They give me longer lasting
energy, plus I almost always prefer savory to sweet. I needed a way to have my eggs quickly,
without having to do any of the actual cooking in the morning. Ideally, something that could be
made in a big batch and frozen in individual portions.
Strata was an early contender. This Vegetable, Egg and Cheddar Strata recipe is one I make for
clients often and it freezes beautifully. But there s a lot of up front prep, a long cook time, and it
still requires a plate and fork. I also considered quiche, my personal brunch favorite. It didn t
make the cut for the same reasons. So then I started thinking of the breakfast sandwiches they
serve at Starbucks. They re pre made, pretty tasty, and always hit the spot when I need a quick
breakfast. I decided to make my own version that I could enjoy at home for a third of the price per
sandwich.
The beautiful thing about these breakfast sandwiches is that they are completely customizable.
Ham, sausage, bacon, turkey bacon, and veggie sausage are all great options. Cheddar is my
favorite cheese choice, but you can use any sliced cheese that melts well. You can even mix
cooked veggies into the eggs to increase your morning fiber intake. Once you get the overall
method down, it s easy to switch it up.

Research on Reaction Time
The Effect of Stimulus Type on Reaction Time Katelin Wagoner Anderson University Abstract
Previous studies on reaction time have examined the effects of different kinds of stimuli; this
experiment specifically tests reaction time in response to auditory and visual stimuli. The common
belief is that an auditory stimulus is faster than visual stimuli. There were 23 participants; 95%
were Caucasian, with six males and 17 females. This experiment required participants to respond
to either an auditory or visual cue by pressing a button. The data was measured by way of a stop
clock. Using a two tailed dependent t test to analyze the data, it was found that the critical t was

Four participants entered the room at one time; two experimenters and two respondents. The
respondent was instructed to stand in front of the apparatus with their entire dominant hand
resting on the table. They were also told to place their dominant hand behind a tape mark, with
all fingers and the palm on the table. After each trial they were instructed to return their hand to
the taped position. The experimenter would choose what set of five audible and five visual cues
to use, but would also tell the participant which set would be used. After one set of five stimuli,
the opposite (visual or auditory) set was selected until two auditory and two visual sets were
completed. The experimenters and respondents then switched roles after the respondents had
finished their sets. Every fifteen minutes two new experimenters and two new participants
replaced the previous participants until all trials had been completed. The respondent s times
were recorded on the data sheet to a thousandth of a second and entered into Excel program,
ensuring accuracy. Results Using a dependent two tailed t test it was found that the critical t,
2.07, was greater than the t obtained, 1.36, resulting in the retention of the null hypothesis. (See
Table 1). The degrees of freedom were 22 and the level of significance was 0.05. The p value of the

He took the theory of evolutionone step beyond biology and applied it to say that societies were organisms that progress through changes similar to that of a living species. She starts by saying So many stories of where I ve been which shows she has experience of life and she is at the west side where she is an adult knowing everything. As Torres is singing, she is walking through the hospital as she gets closer to willing herself to wake up. One of the reasons was her girlfriend, Arizona Robbins, who loves her and she has her child Sofia to fight for. Her child, Sofia, represents life and birth as she beings her symbolic cycle. The idea of music being Szpilman s saviour is also portrayed in the Hosenfeld scene, where he meets and plays piano for a German officer. The audience sees an over the shoulder shot of Szpilman playing piano for the German officer, Wilm Hosenfeld. The shot is over Hosenfeld s shoulder, and we can see a beam of moonlight illuminating Szpilman and his hands. Szpilman looks very dirty and extremely skinny, nearly to the point of death. The audience learns that Polanski uses lighting consistently throughout the film to signify the importance of pianos to Szpilman, as light is repeatedly shone on his hands whilst playing piano, this is demonstrated in the Invasion scene. The composition in this scene is important because Szpilman is facing the opposite way to what he was in the invasion scene when he was on the piano; this is to show that Szpilman s life has turned around. The ragged and dirty costume also makes the audience draw a comparison to the invasion scene where he has an expensive looking, clean, sophisticated suit on, also emphasising that his life has gotten significantly worse. We then see Hosenfeld back away from the piano and sit down to watch Szpilman play. This makes the audience realise that Hosenfeld is not going to kill Szpilman as he is a good German, showing Polanski s idea of good Germans and bad Germans and furthering the idea of the piano being his saviour, because we do not know what Hosenfeld would have done if Szpilman was not the amazing pianist he is. • 14. The Era Of Discrimination By Jane Austen The Era Of Discrimination Feminism can be defined by three major components: social, political and economic equality of the sexes. Throughout history, women have battled to gain equality with men. Elizabeth Bennet and other women have been suppressed from opportunities merely because of their gender and have fought to be considered as equals to men. Women are far more than someone s wife or daughter, they are more than just their counterparts, they are human beings. From a morality standpoint, Elizabeth and other women should not be married off based on the need of survival but for the need of wanting to be married for true love. Pride and Prejudice, by Jane Austen, displays feminism through the aspects of women s dependence on men, class snobbery, and alienation. In the 1800s, women s sole purpose in life was to find a suitable husband, women had no other choice but to depend on a man for certain needs and wants. Most feminist studies have represented Austen as a conscious or unconscious subversive voicing a woman s frustration at the rigid and sexist social order which enforces women s subservience and dependence. (Morrison, 337). The protagonist in the novel, Elizabeth Bennet defies the social norms of the 1800s by not wanting to marry solely for economic gain. For example, Elizabeth is impoverished and needs to marry a man with good wealth but she realises that with being in a loveless marriage comes with unhappiness. The plot follows the life of a young woman, DГ©sirГ©e, from her mysterious and unknown origins to being the wife of a wealthy aristocrat. Her life is suddenly shattered when she realizes that, to her horror, her son s features resemble the ones of the race that is cursed with the brand of slavery. Chopin uses many literary devices throughout her text, such as setting, symbolism, theme, and irony to illustrate to her readers how inherent prejudices, be they of race or gender, negatively affect all factions involved in the respective affair, rather than only those deemed inferior. Firstly, Chopin establishes the setting in the southern state of Louisiana sometime before the Civil War. This historical setting affects the thinking and beliefs of majority of the characters in the short story. That is, Armand did not care for his wife and child because he believed and considered them to be an inferior race. All my friends were playing videogames on their computers and, so I wanted to build one. They were way too expensive, so I never got the chance. I enjoy fixing computers and helping my family with their technical issues. Everything is run by electronics these days, so I might as well get good at using them and seeing how they work. In the career field of engineering, there is a broad field and offers several alternative career paths. Those interested in working with engineers and developers to create the code for software programs and systems should consider a career in computer programming. After reviewing plans and operational diagrams from software developers, programmers use specialized tools and programming languages to produce the finished product. They also analyze and test existing products to identify and repair errors ( Alternative Careers ). Computer hardware engineer is another possible career route in this industry. As the name implies, this career focuses on creating, improving, and evaluating the various parts that make up the computers and computer systems such as routers, memory boards, central processing units, video sound cards, network components, etc. More than likely working in a laboratory building, testing ideas and the involvement in the manufacturing or the installing aspect of this industry. • 25. Richard Wright s Writing Style It is probably a mere accident that I never killed, states Richard Wright during an interview. (Kinnamon 596) Often times, an alternative people would turn to would be violence in a way to escape the world they lived in, but one man held so much inspiration over a society that was and still is shaded by prejudice. What many fail to realize is one can transform the direction of the way society works simply by using words. Because of Richard Wright s writing style, he depicts the racism and bigotry set in American society in his novel and writes this story by using examples of his personal experiences to create an impact for the later generations. Since Richard exited his mother s womb, he had to undergo bigotry and unseen detestation from white southerners because of his color (Hart 35). Starting his first day of life on September 4, 1908, Richard Wright overcame several impediments and later became one of the first famous African American authors. The Wright family lived in Natchez, Mississippi, and his parents worked, during his toddler years. Nathaniel Wright, Richard s father, was a sharecropper. He labored for the rich plantation owners, while Richard s mother was a school teacher. Today, the national minimum wage is $7.25, which is less powerful than the minimum wage was in 1968. • 27. The Role Of Political Machines In The Early 19th Century Political machines were a very corrupt but necessary group during the 19th century into the early 20th. They were a local political party organization that made it possible to get a large number of voters out to get their candidate elected. Political machines were appealing to immigrants and other poor people living in the cities as much as they were important to the politician they got elected. There were 3 components to the political machines: the county committee, the ward or precinct leaders and the party loyalists. The county committee members were those that held the top offices in the county political party. People like Thomas J Pendergast from Kansas City, James Michael Curley in Boston and Richard J Daley from Chicago. At this level they controlled the party s nominations, the money and the votes. Much of their power came from the people that they got elected that owed them favors for the votes. The ward and precincts were where most of the action took place. • 34. John Winthrop Contributions My paper will be on John Winthrop who I chose because of the impact he made on America as we know it today and because of his Christian background and influence. I was initially interested in him because he was one of the major players from Europe who caused this nation to be founded under God, if you will, and is clearly an influential man in American history. Now that I have read more about him I realize he played an even larger role than I imagined. John Winthrop left all that he knew to go spread the gospel and create a city on a hill to shape a nation and despite all the hardships he faced, he never abandoned his efforts or ideals and that is a man I would love to talk to and learn from. John Winthrop is a significant figure in American history because he, along with a few others, laid the foundation for America as we know it today and put in place many of the ideals and principles that we still base our government and lives on in the present. Winthrop was with the group who were the first to govern a colony from within the colony, helped introduce and influence the people to adopt a government in which the people ruled and elected those making the laws and ruling over them, introduced the idea of separation of Church and State, helped establish a program of public and private education and a grammar school in Bostonas early as 1635. Some people even call John Winthrop the Father of New England and America s Forgotten Founding Father. If I could actually come face to face with John Winthrop, one of the questions I would ask him is Why he would move to America to start the Massachusetts Bay Colony when he was doing well where he lived in England and knew the great risks of going? To this question, I believe that Winthrop s initial and main reason would be that it was God s plan and purpose for him in order to spread the gospel into those parts of the world and become an example, a city on a hill, for the rest of the world. I believe he would answer this way because of the things he writes in a Model of Christian Charity and because he had come upon some hardships in England around this time that he said he believed were God s way of preparing him to be willing and open to ... A little background information of this is that; The Last Judgement by Michelangelo covers the wall behind the altar in the Sistine Chapel. The work depicts the second coming of Christ and, although the artist is clearly inspired by the Bible, it is his own imaginative vision that prevails in this painting. The picture radiates out from the center figure of Christ, and Michelangelo has chosen to depict the various saints included in the work holding the instruments of their martyrdom rather than the actual scenes of torture. Cross Cultural Communication Essay The three cultures that are involved in cross cultural communication are the Missionary s Culture Context, the Bible Culture Context, and the Respondent s Culture Context. The Missionary s culture is a missionaries understanding and interpretation of the Bible according to their upbringing in the gospel, and their traditions. For example, I grew up in the Methodist Church, and singing hymns is a part of our worship and culture. Some modernize Churches do not necessary care for hymns, because it seems to turn off the younger generation from attending Church. Therefore, the modern Church may only sing a hymn on a special occasion to honor their heritage, but they do include hymns as part of their weekly worship. Nevertheless, no matter the cultural differences God loves diversity (Winter, 2009, p. 354). Ecclesiastes 1:9 states History merely repeats itself. It has all been done before. Nothing under the sun is truly new. Therefore, in my opinion the cultureonly changes when we change. The large house was made of splintery wood, and was inhabited by only one person. Now, the lake that his house was built on had been where a boy named Ronald Pratt had been ran over after removing the bricks from in front of the wheels of a flaming portable, saving the lives of many kids after the portable rolled into the lake and the fire was extinguished. One day, the man who owned the house was in his bed at 8:30 pm and he heard a whisper. He couldn t make out any words, but he heard it all right. He pulled out a flashlightand grabbed his rifle to go and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Five minutes later, he had drowned. A week later, detectives came to investigate his death. They found it odd that he had drowned in water just shy of a foot deep. The officer knew how to swim: they had seen him complete triathlons. So what had happened to him. They decided to question the man living in the house. He claimed that there was a ghost in the lake, and that the officer must have been killed by it! The detectives found this preposterous, and dismissed the man as crazy. At 11:00, the detectives were still there. They heard the whispering. Maybe the man was right! They thought. Maybe there WAS a ghost. They left with a report saying that he drowned, but they didn t know why. In the end, the man moved away from his old house by the lake. The county renamed the lake from Lake Fletcher to The Haunted Lake. Over the years, three foolish men waded into the lake. All died in the shallow water. The county put signs up saying NO SWIMMING. The lake became a popular tourist attraction, and visitors would come from all over the south to see the Haunted Lake. Also, no one s been swimming in it ever since. You would have to be FOOLISH to go in a place where a ghost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 46. Ecstasy And Inquisition Analysis In these primary sources, heresy and inquisition are the subjects of discussion. The two sources are translated from Castilian by Roland Surtz. In the first source: A. Descriptions of Two Autos de Fe (1486), the author primarily focused on retelling the two events that took place in Toledo. The second source: B. Inquisitorial Trials of Ines Lopez, recounted her confessions, arraignment, and questionnaire for Tachas Witnesses. Benefits of using these source to support an argument would be that it provides an exact name. On the other hand, similar to all other court documents from this time, it is unclear how precise the information about Ines Lopez is and if there was any degrees of fabrication. Considering there are most likely a few to none texts denying the Spanish Inquisition, one obvious historical fact of these text is that the Inquisition absolutely existed.... • 47. The Creation Of Man ( Ge ) We have read about the creation of man (Ge. 1 2), education and punishment from God unto Man (Ge. 3 4), and lastly God s Covenant with man through Abram (12 22). In the movie; Karate Kid, Daniel moves to Southern California with his mother but finds himself as the target of a group of bullies that happen to take karate classes at Cobra Kai; giving them an advantage at fighting. Daniel later seeks the help from his apartment s repairman, Mr. Miyagi; who happens to be a master of karate. God s relationship with man is not static but evolving, just as the relationship between Daniel and Mr. Miyagi because of the principal of listening, and following covenants made between different parties. We have read about God s creation of man; Adam and Evein Genesis 1 2, God s education and punishment of both Adam and Eve in Genesis 3 4, and lastly God s Covenant that he made with Abraham; the representative of man, in Genesis 12 22. In Genesis 1 2, God creates the first man named Adam. From Adam, the first woman is created, Eve. So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. (Ge. 1:27) In this passage, God creates male and female in the image of himself. While Eve was in the Garden of Eden , she was tempted by a serpent that tricked her with a piece of fruit from the tree of knowledge and life. This action of temptation leads to the banning of both Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden. This is where we learn about the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a result the many representations of significant values are elucidated in the novel The Book Thief by Markus Zusak and the film V for Vendetta by James McTeigue emphasising the concepts of totalitarianism and rebellion by subjected governments. The Book Thief parallels with the contextual influences of the Nazi Party ruled by Adolf Hitlerin the 1930s. Whereas V for Vendetta draws a direct correlation from the horrendous acts in Iraq governed by George Bush subsequent to the infamous attack of 9/11. Furthermore, the rebellious acts presented within V for Vendetta is also showcased through the Book Thief, in which Zusak successfully displays the contextual influences of the Nazi s party. Its purpose is to further gain understanding of the impact of rebellion in the representation of the significant idea that there is always beauty in the wake of brutality. It should be clear from the analysis of earlier chapters that neither extensive acquisition of existing firms, nor entrepreneurs bent on achieving monopoly and dominance are necessary for the explanation of the emergence of large and dominant firms. EXCHANGE RATE UTILISATION AND ADAPTION It was observed during the recent emerging market crises that as soon as an inflexible exchange rate and other financial sector weaknesses became apparent in an economy, institutional investors and currency speculators were attracted toward it, making a currency crisis imminent (Das 1993). Exchange rates create a risk to a business like Unilever. A bad exchange rate creates the need for Unilever to increase the prices; a positive exchange rate gives a firm the chance to earn more income. Unilever always monitors the financial status of the country they operate in, it always checks for any changes in the exchange rate and other economic indicators. The company s local strategy is based from the exchange rate. • 50. Descriptive Essay About Breakfast Every morning, my son Pete wakes up at 6:30 AM. I have 2 ВЅ hours to get us both ready for the day, which seems like it should be plenty of time. But each day the nanny arrives at 9, and I m never ready to leave! So I started making these freezable breakfast sandwiches to help me get out the door faster. I m a personal chef, so I m really fast in the kitchen. Before I had Pete, I never really understood why people said that they didn t have time to cook breakfast in the morning. Scrambling an egg takes no time at all! But now I realize, you have to clean the pan, the spatula, your plate, and also eat the eggs with a fork in your kitchen, all while trying to wrangle the baby in the other arm. In this new reality, minutes matter. Finding a quicker breakfast solution So I wanted a quicker and cleaner way to get my fuel in the morning. While oatmeal and granola can be nice occasionally, my go to breakfast will always include eggs. They give me longer lasting energy, plus I almost always prefer savory to sweet. I needed a way to have my eggs quickly, without having to do any of the actual cooking in the morning. Ideally, something that could be made in a big batch and frozen in individual portions. Strata was an early contender. This Vegetable, Egg and Cheddar Strata recipe is one I make for clients often and it freezes beautifully. But there s a lot of up front prep, a long cook time, and it still requires a plate and fork. I also considered quiche, my personal brunch favorite. It didn t make the cut for the same reasons. So then I started thinking of the breakfast sandwiches they serve at Starbucks. They re pre made, pretty tasty, and always hit the spot when I need a quick breakfast. I decided to make my own version that I could enjoy at home for a third of the price per sandwich. The beautiful thing about these breakfast sandwiches is that they are completely customizable. Ham, sausage, bacon, turkey bacon, and veggie sausage are all great options. Cheddar is my favorite cheese choice, but you can use any sliced cheese that melts well. You can even mix cooked veggies into the eggs to increase your morning fiber intake. Once you get the overall method down, it s easy to switch it up. Cooking the Eggs ... • 51. Research on Reaction Time The Effect of Stimulus Type on Reaction Time Katelin Wagoner Anderson University Abstract Previous studies on reaction time have examined the effects of different kinds of stimuli; this experiment specifically tests reaction time in response to auditory and visual stimuli. The common belief is that an auditory stimulus is faster than visual stimuli. There were 23 participants; 95% were Caucasian, with six males and 17 females. This experiment required participants to respond to either an auditory or visual cue by pressing a button. The data was measured by way of a stop clock. Four participants entered the room at one time; two experimenters and two respondents. The respondent was instructed to stand in front of the apparatus with their entire dominant hand resting on the table. They were also told to place their dominant hand behind a tape mark, with all fingers and the palm on the table. After each trial they were instructed to return their hand to the taped position. The experimenter would choose what set of five audible and five visual cues to use, but would also tell the participant which set would be used. After one set of five stimuli, the opposite (visual or auditory) set was selected until two auditory and two visual sets were completed. The experimenters and respondents then switched roles after the respondents had finished their sets. Every fifteen minutes two new experimenters and two new participants replaced the previous participants until all trials had been completed. The respondent s times were recorded on the data sheet to a thousandth of a second and entered into Excel program, ensuring accuracy. Results Using a dependent two tailed t test it was found that the critical t, 2.07, was greater than the t obtained, 1.36, resulting in the retention of the null hypothesis. (See Table 1).
