Abstract
An attempt to revisit the hydro-stratigraphy of Bandung-Soreang Groundwater Basin (BSGB) has been done based on 111 well-logging training dataset. Transformation of resistivity values from well-log data to relative porosity and permeability used Chilingarian approach and Baker-Hughes Atlas of log responses. Then boundary marker was drawn to separated different aquifer layers. Simple linear regression equations were derived from the transformation: (a) tuff layers: θ= -0.0023ρ+2.5619,μ= -63.514θ+167.38,σ=22.912 μ+238.78; (b) clay layers: θ= -0.0181 ρ+2.6281,μ= -61.842 θ+163.91,σ=5.1202 μ-11.503; (c) sand layers: θ= -0.0078 ρ+2.5992,μ= -60.75 θ+161.02,σ=394.35 μ-2156.8. Based on the new aquifer taxonomy, three hydro-stratigraphic units (HSU) and six sub HSU have been defined. UHs 1 is the top layer of the BSGB, located at elevation above 650 masl. It has three sub HSU that consists of tuf and sand. The permeability (K) values of this unit range from 0,0014 to 0.1 m per day. HSU-2 with two sub HSU consists of tuf and sand, located at elevation from 625 to 650 masl. This unit has K values from 0.1 to 6 m per day. HSU-3, which is located at elevation from 500 to 625 masl, has only one sub HSU. This unit consists of tuf, sand, and volcanic breccias, with K values from 0.3 to 7.1 m per day. This models, however, are still needed more test to new dataset.
Construction of Maximum Tortuosity of Single Fluid Path in Grid-based 2-d Sys...Sparisoma Viridi
Tortuosity of 2-d and 3-d small system are constructed using grid based system. Thermodynamics postulate shows that possiblility of a microstate with tortuous channel is very small, in order of 10^{-17}. This means other mechanism is required why nature can provide some structures.
This research was done in Pelabuhan Ratu Bay, about 60 km South Sukabumi Regency. The aim of this study is to determine the suitable area for floating net cage culture that can be developed. The method used in this study is spatial analysis using GIS technique. The data used include secondary and primary data from 2007 until 2008. Spatial analysis result shows, about 8,500 ha of location is suitable for the development of floating net cage culture or about 98% of the total research region worked.

Sustainable development can be defined in several different ways, but usually, the term refers to the definition given by the Brundtland Commission in the publication of Our Common Future. Sustainable development is often understood by relying on three pillars, namely environmental/ecology, economic and social. The demersal fishery in the South China Sea (Indonesia Fisheries Management Area / IFMA 711) became one of the supporting sectors of the economy of the fishermen communities around of these waters. This study aims to analyze the sustainability of demersal fisheries with the Sustainability Window (SuWi) approach. Demersal fishery sustainability condition in the South China Sea (IFMA 711) waters tend to be better from year to year. However, the width of demersal sustainability window tends to be low and indicate the status of sustainability of demersal fish is not maximal in the South China Sea (IFMA 711). Therefore, care should be taken to manage demersal fishery in the South China Sea (IFMA 711).

Abstract:
Quantitative-spatial analysis has been applied to 295 samples of shallow groundwater quality data from Bandung-Soreang Groundwater Basin (BSGwB) taken in 1997, 1998, 2007, 2010, and 2011. This paper discuss the use of variogram using geoR and generalised additive model (GAM) using mgcv R-package to identify the spatial distribution and mixing process betwee groundwater and Cikapundung river water. The variograms show significant water quality trend in north-south direction, and in the direction to the Cikapundung River. From the GAM tests using gaussian and gamma family, some significant elements can be identified: (1) geological control from Fe, Mn, Na concentration; (2) agricultural control from NO2, NO3 concentration; and (3) other surficial control from EC, CO3, CO2, SO4 concentration. Both analysis suggest the close interaction between groundwater and river water and the occurrence of mixing between both.
Open Archiving of a Ceased Indian Journal - Inspired by Third LawSatya Ranjan Sahu
Before the commercial and impact factor journals ruled the publications industry, many institutes were showcasing their scholarly research output in the journals owned by them or by other institutes/societies. The National Institute of Oceanography, CSIR, Goa also had one such publication called ‘Mahasagar’ which ceased its publication in 1995. Here the article describes the online archival of this ceased journal using Open journal System (OJS). It also explains briefly the implementation processes & issues which were handled to make the journal archive system operational. The usage statistics of the journal shows that the scientific publications have value irrespective of its age.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.

Segregation will seperate homogeneous mixture of different size objects into clusters of same size objects
Observation of floating object has been performed in German Bight (North sea) as reported (Thiel et al., 2011) that depends also on the season
It is unbelievable that there are about 5×1012 pieces and 2.5×105 ton of them as reported (Eriksen et al. 2014)
This is one of our previous study
Trel = relaxation time, time for floating body to achieve its equilibrium in still water, before the water oscillatesTf = fuid (water) oscillation periode
Spherical object is dropped from some distance in still water, it relaxes to achieve equilibrium in about 10 s, and then water surface oscillates (dashed blue line), followed by the floating object (solid red line)
The study continues with two-dimensional system
Previous study shows that when D << λ the floating body can only moves in vertical direction (only oscillating in place)
As the water surface wate travels to the right (with arrow indicates travel direction of the wave), the floating body can also travel to the right (or left depends on the frequency and amplitude of the wave)
Db is object diameter, ρb is object mass density, ρf is fluid mass density, g is earth gravitation acceleration, ηf is fluid viscosity, v is object velocity, vf is fluid velocity, z is vertical position of water surface
The method is known as Euler method, simple but it requires small value of time step Δt
g is earth gravitational acceleration, ρf is fluid (water) mass density, ηf is fluid viscosity, A is water surface wave amplitude, f is water surface wave frequency, λ is water surface wave wavelength, ϕ0 is initial phase of water surface wave, Δt is simulation time step, Tdata is data sampling period, and tend is final time of simulation
It is observed that with mass density about 0.8 g/cm3 floating object has the largest value of displacement and for mass density 1 it has no motion since it is the same as the water
It is observed that floating object with larger diameter wil have the larger displacement
Larger mass density is represented by darker colorAs water surface wave propagating to the right various size and density of floating object will segregate
