Abstract In this paper, a mathematical model of the Self-Excited Induction Generator (SEIG) is developed to analyze the operation of it in wind energy systems. In such type of wind scheme often whole generating system is isolated from the grid and supply electricity to the remote communities. A wind energy system usually a low/medium speed projects driven by controlled/uncontrolled micro wind turbines. The single point operation of these generators is realized; in such a manner that speeds, voltage, currents of generators remain constant under various operating loads conditions. The Electronic Load Controller (ELC) is modeled here for the controlled operation of WES against various load condition. Here the proposed electrical system are modeled and simulated in MATLAB using Simulink and Sim Power System (SPS) set toolboxes and different aspects of the proposed system are studied. On the basis this model different characteristics of SEIG with ELC are analyzed which shows its suitability in wind energy systems. Index Terms: SEIG, ELC, Wind Energy, and Induction generator etc

Flow analysis of centrifugal pump using CFX solver and remedies for cavitatio...IJERA Editor
In this scholarly thesis pertinent to the working of centrifugal pump, a CFD solver namely CFX is employed in order to simulate fluid flow characteristics with well-defined constraints and boundary conditions defining the problem. Stringent solid model is meticulously prepared encompassing the present day usage and constructional features of a centrifugal pump and is constrained with various boundary conditions having fixed domain in order to evaluate plots and results. To spearhead and facilitate this analysis program a numerical approximation tool with high degree of convergence rate called ANSYS 15.0 software is used. The ASNYS software avoids tedious calculations presumably impending in the design procedure and uses ultimate numerical tool to approximate the solution of the partial differential equations associated with continuity, momentum and energy phases of a flow problem in a 3-D model. This exquisite feature of ANSYS enables designer to optimize the design procedure in an iterative manner based on the final plots of post-processing phase. In addition, the scholarly writing also constitutes the appraisal of the most debilitating and painstaking problem retarding the efficiency of the centrifugal pump known as cavitation. Possible remedies for overcoming this problem will be indirectly inferred from the various plots and figures derived from the post-processing phase of the design process.
Conceptual Designing and Numerical Modeling of Micro Pulse Jet for Controllin...CSCJournals
A conceptual design and numerical model of Micro Pulse Jet has been developed to investigate the flow separation. This valve is designed to generate the stream line vortices to suppress the flow separation by enhancing the mixing of the flows between free stream and separated flow of the boundary layer through pitched jet orifice of very small width. This paper describes not only the conceptual modeling of Micro Pulse Jet but also presenting the numerical analysis and results of steady and unsteady pulse of micro jet. The unsteady pulse of the valve is simulated by the periodic inlet boundary condition through mathematical model. A 2-D ramp with 20 degrees divergence is selected. The divergence of the lower wall of the ramp is large enough to produce a strong adverse pressure gradient causing the boundary layer to separate. A jet orifice is introduced at the upstream of the divergent portion of the ramp and the effect of steady and unsteady jet is analyzed. The main inlet boundary condition is almost of 0.2 Mach. The jet amplitude is characterized by the velocity ratio (Vj/V∞) in between 0 to 5 and the jet pulse frequency is varying between 0 to 100 Hz. A comparison between the steady and unsteady Micro Pulse jet is also done, which indicates the mass flow requirement for pulse micro jet is reduced significantly as compare to the steady jet for the flow separation control.

Evaluation of Power Conversion on Heavy Payload Tethered Hexarotors: A Strate...IJERA Editor
This research article addresses the evaluation of power conversion on heavy payload tethered hexarotors where
the payloads are high and hovering times are long. Modifications were added to the power conversion unit based
on operation reliability perspective. Since the objective power conversion is large comparing to existing tethered
UAVs today, a strategic engineering approach was proposed and tested based on partial observations on current
spikes and power thresholds of DCDC switching regulators. Research problem is such that, when UAV motors
are consuming low currents, the current spikes are not the plausible cause of direct power failure. But at higher
currents even small current spikes could cause power failures. Risk increase with time and situations worsen
when UAVs operate under high precision flight controls. When the number of parallel converters are small this
becomes a mission critical problem. As a solution, fast switching high current diodes are used at the low voltage
high current output to block reverse currents, and then apply low voltage bus bar to prevent dependency issues
on particular DCDC module. At the cost of a small power dissipations over diodes, the total current thresholds of
UAV become higher. Experiment results shows that with the use of proposed method large number of paralleling
switching regulators become possible and heavy payload flights become reliable.

Introduction
This week’s project concerns itself with a pump-valve combination, in which a pump discharges
to a valve, which then discharges back to a pump. For ECE students, think of a pump as a
current dependent voltage source (the voltage is dependent on the current), and the valve is a
resistor. Later we will show how the system obeys a mechanical version of Kirchoff’s Voltage
Law. ECE students have actually seen this kind of a system: In ECEL 302 you worked with BJTs,
which is basically an electrical version of a pump.
The Pump
The purpose of a pump is to increase the pressure of a flow so it can flow. In a closed system.
Cavitation Effects in Centrifugal Pumps- A ReviewIJERA Editor
Cavitation is one of the most challenging fluid flow abnormalities leading to detrimental effects on both the
centrifugal pump flow behaviors and physical characteristics. Centrifugal pumps’ most low pressure zones are the
first cavitation victims, where cavitation manifests itself in form of pitting on the pump internal solid walls,
accompanied by noise and vibration, all leading to the pump hydraulic performance degradation. In the present
article, a general description of centrifugal pump performance and related parameters is presented. Based on the
literature survey, some light were shed on fundamental cavitation features; where different aspects relating to
cavitation in centrifugal pumps were briefly discussed.

Climate Impact of Software Testing at Nordic Testing DaysKari Kakkonen
My slides at Nordic Testing Days 6.6.2024
Climate impact / sustainability of software testing discussed on the talk. ICT and testing must carry their part of global responsibility to help with the climat warming. We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.
Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Removing Uninteresting Bytes in Software FuzzingAftab Hussain
Imagine a world where software fuzzing, the process of mutating bytes in test seeds to uncover hidden and erroneous program behaviors, becomes faster and more effective. A lot depends on the initial seeds, which can significantly dictate the trajectory of a fuzzing campaign, particularly in terms of how long it takes to uncover interesting behaviour in your code. We introduce DIAR, a technique designed to speedup fuzzing campaigns by pinpointing and eliminating those uninteresting bytes in the seeds. Picture this: instead of wasting valuable resources on meaningless mutations in large, bloated seeds, DIAR removes the unnecessary bytes, streamlining the entire process.
In this work, we equipped AFL, a popular fuzzer, with DIAR and examined two critical Linux libraries -- Libxml's xmllint, a tool for parsing xml documents, and Binutil's readelf, an essential debugging and security analysis command-line tool used to display detailed information about ELF (Executable and Linkable Format). Our preliminary results show that AFL+DIAR does not only discover new paths more quickly but also achieves higher coverage overall. This work thus showcases how starting with lean and optimized seeds can lead to faster, more comprehensive fuzzing campaigns -- and DIAR helps you find such seeds.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
