Simple Finance is SAP's new financial accounting solution that aims to streamline financial processes. It creates a single source of truth for accounting through logical documents, removes unnecessary index tables to reduce database costs, and utilizes embedded analytics and a new Fiori user interface for faster financial reporting and analysis. Migration involves transitioning the general ledger to the new Simple Finance add-on.

Since its introduction in early 2014, SAP Simple Finance has
caused a lot of excitement in the SAP financial community.
What is Simple Finance?

• Logical Document link FI and CO data creating on logic document (Link BSEG and
COEP)
• New G/L balance on CO levels - COEP has been enhanced by the additional fields
listed above.
• logical document allow data selection from one data source
• Accounts become the leading dimension in FI and CO including COPA - Same level
of detail in Account Based and Cost Based CO-PA at component level. (new
customizing in product costing)
• Integration of legal & internal management views on single line item level
• General Ledger will be stored in one repository

Speed up the month-end processes
• All of the data is held in a common structure & logical
document in HANA
• Simplified reconciliation due to integration with CO
• Account based COPA include COGS cost component split
• COPA and Finance postings done at the same time
• Reporting real-time directly from source data
• Consolidations could be run on the original accounting data.
• Data replication (BI etc) would become obsolete, some
consolidation functionality can be run on the fly in reporting.
