The UN General Assembly's Open Working Group proposed 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with 169 targets aimed at addressing various global challenges, including poverty, hunger, health, and education. This proposal builds on prior agreements from the Rio+20 Conference and culminated in the adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development at the UN summit in September 2015. The SDGs focus on areas such as gender equality, sustainable economic growth, and climate change, emphasizing a collaborative approach to sustainable development.
