high level presentation on the main points and issues you should consider when looking at a cyber insurance policy to be marketed on the Italian market (Norton Rose Fulbright and Markel join seminar, London, September 2014)
On September 25, 2015, 193 Heads of State at the United Nations General Assembly set up a collection of 17 goals known as The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) or simply Global Goals.
The SDGs and their 169 targets form the core of Resolution 70/1 of the United Nations, which is a breakthrough agreement called AGENDA 2030. The goals are to be achieved by all member states by year 2030.
They are a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure all people enjoy peace and prosperity.
The goals are broad, interdependent and cover social, economic and social issues and making them work is everyone’s responsibility.
The following slides present a brief overview of the goals.
The paper arises many questions related to issues covered under the concept of sustainable development. Sustainable development mainly focuses on quality of life which is highly dependent upon use of natural resources and thus these resources must be sustained. The present concept of sustainable global enterprise will help to achieve three basic goals known as corporate responsibility, environmental protection and social responsiveness. The concept of sustainable development also focuses on issues related to women as they play a significant role in policy of sustainable development. Women issues are basically linked with population and fertility. The development process worldwide has contributed to increase in economic and social inequalities, environment degradation and has also led to growth in poverty.

The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.
A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

2. WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT?
Sustainable development is a process for meeting human development goals
while sustaining the ability of natural systems to continue to provide the natural
resources and ecosystem services upon which the economy and society depends
While the modern concept of sustainable development is derived most strongly
from the 1987 Brundtland Report, it is rooted in earlier ideas about sustainable
forest management and twentieth century environmental concerns.
As the concept developed, it has shifted to focus more on economic
development, social development and environmental protection for future
generations.
3. WHAT IS SUSTAINABLE
DEVELOPMENT GOALS?
In September 2015, the United Nations General Assembly formally
adopted the "universal, integrated and transformative" 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Development, a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). The goals are to be implemented and achieved in every country
from the year 2016 to 2030.
4. Sustainable development has three
main parts:
Environmental sustainability
Economic sustainability
Socio-political sustainability
5. ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINIBILITY
Environmental sustainability is the rates of renewable resource harvest,
pollution creation, and non-renewable resource depletion that can be
continued indefinitely. If they cannot be continued indefinitely then they are
not sustainable.
6. ECONOMIC SUSTAINIBILITY
The general definition of economic sustainability is the ability of
an economy to support a defined level of economic production
indefinitely.
7. SOCIO-POLITICAL SUSTAINIBILITY
The ability of a community to develop processes and structures which
not only meet the needs of its current members but also support the ability
of future generations to maintain a healthy ability.
8. WHY IS SUSTAINIBILITY
IMPORTANT?
This is placing an increasing burden on economies worldwide, as well as
the costs that an average homeowner faces. We consider a move to
greater sustainability, in all aspects of life, critical to our future. We only
have one earth. We must find ways to reduce our harmful impact on the
environment.
9. HOW CAN SUSTAINIBILITY BE
ACHIVED?
To eradicate extreme poverty and hunger.
To achieve universal primary education.
To promote gender equality.
To reduce child mortality.
To improve maternal health.
To combat HIV/AIDS, malaria, and other diseases.
To ensure environmental sustainability.
To develop a global partnership for development.
