2. I like the level of freedom that has been given to us to create the
concept of our film with only a few guidelines to abide by,
however I may struggle to create a concept for a 90 second
movie that revolves around a clock or watch.
My first thought was time travel, however this concept would
require great use of digital effects and not only that but the
concept of time travel can get very confusing, very quickly and as
a result I’m not I want this to be the concept of my film.
I find I’m better at creating films with an air of mystery to them, the
difficult part is tying that back to time, however I do have a few
ideas, whether or not they can be done with no dialogue and in
90 seconds is another matter.

5. Is there any repetition in the images you have collected? Repeated
colours/images styles/fonts/tone/mood
There is a repetition in imagery in my mood board, with it primarily
surrounding technology and time, from historical pictures of York to a picture
of a potential future city, and an image of a time lapse in a city, the fast
forward and rewind images are also relevant because they represent moving
forward and backward in time. A repetition in colours also occurs, mainly
surrounding the colours blue, black and yellow, they don’t set a mood of an
unsettling atmosphere but rather can make the viewer confused, this is due
to it being linked back to time travel and time travel can get incredibly
confusing quickly.
How will your mood board influence your final product?
I believe my mood board will effect the digital effects that I may use my short
film as well determine how my short film will play out chronologically, for
example it could determine if my character will go back in time, it could also
change what time periods I send my character to in particular.
6. I will have to research varied camera angles, in particular the close
up shot and I believe I will primarily be utilising shots like this so that
the audience not only know what is happening (mostly) but also
know what to focus on in the shot, I will also have to research a few
time periods in history so I know what time periods I will be sending
character to, for example, architecture and important events
throughout history could effect my decision as to what time periods to
send my character to.
I will also research different films with time travel in them, as the
logic of time machines can become skewed, for example it may not
make sense for a time machine in England to be able to travel to
ancient Egypt or on the frontline during the the war for
independence. So I would have to research different time travel
concepts in movies to see if the idea of a time machine being able to
teleport to different locations is a common feature.
