Shooting An Elephant Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Shooting An Elephant" can be a challenging endeavor,
demanding a delicate balance between literary analysis, historical context, and personal
reflection. George Orwell's essay, a poignant exploration of imperialism, power dynamics, and
moral dilemmas, requires a nuanced approach to unpack its layers.
To start, delving into the text demands a keen eye for Orwell's language and the subtle nuances
of his narrative. Analyzing the symbolism behind the elephant and its connection to the broader
themes of colonialism can be intellectually demanding. Furthermore, understanding the historical
backdrop of the British Empire and Orwell's personal experiences in Burma is essential for
providing a comprehensive context.
Navigating the essay's emotional landscape is another aspect that adds complexity. The internal
conflict faced by the narrator, torn between his role as a colonial officer and his moral compass,
requires careful examination and thoughtful expression. Balancing empathy for the protagonist
with critical analysis is a delicate task that demands a writer's finesse.
The broader implications of the essay also warrant exploration. Addressing the lasting relevance
of Orwell's work in the context of contemporary societal structures and power dynamics adds an
additional layer of complexity. Formulating a coherent argument that ties together these various
elements while maintaining a clear and engaging writing style is no small feat.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Shooting An Elephant" is a task that demands intellectual
acuity, historical insight, and emotional intelligence. Successfully weaving these components
together into a cohesive and compelling narrative requires dedication and skill. However, for
those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that similar essays and a wide range of writing services

Essay on Compare and Contrast Comedy and Tragedy
Compare and Contrast Comedy and Tragedy
In a comparison of comedy and tragedy, I will begin by looking at narrative. The
narration in a comedy often involves union and togetherness as we see in the
marriage scene at the end of Midsummer s Night Dream. William Hazlitt tells us that
one can also expect incongruities, misunderstandings, and contradictions. I am
reminded of the play The Importance of Being Ernest and the humor by way of
mistaken identity. Sigmund Freud tells us to expect excess and exaggeration in
comedy. Chekhov s Marriage Proposal displays this excess both in language and in
movements. Charles Darwin insists that in a comedy circumstances must not be of a
momentous nature; whereas, Northop Frye identifies ... Show more content on

Comic characters are often likable and sweet as Jack and Algeron in The
Importance of Being Ernest. Oliver Goldsmith characterizes comic characters as
being good and exceedingly generous as well as having an abundance of sentiment
and feeling. Goldsmith is speaking especially of sentimental comedy, the forerunner
of the sit com. Tragic characters, however, are usually of a higher class, even
nobility Aristotle tells us. This seems to be more the case the further back in history
we go. Oedipus fits this description far better than the characters in Desire Under the
Elms. Characters in tragedy may be heroic and seem larger than life as does Hamlet.
A quality of greatness is usually seen through characters in a tragedy.
Comedies and tragedies also differ in their audience appeal. Hazlitt tells us when
watching comedy we laugh at what disappoints our expectations in trifles. But
Henri Bergson warns us to expect laughter without feeling. Bergson also believes
that a group is necessary for comedy to work. George Meredith says that comedy is
dependent on a society where there is social freedom and common sense. This may
be why Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard is seen by some as a comedy but not by
others. Since it comments on social change, the humor would be a strain for Russian
audiences who lack the social freedom necessary to laugh at such ideas. Tragedy, on
the other hand, evokes fear and pity according

This report was commissioned to examine QANTAS management processes and
other business strategies. QANTAS decision to move some operations offshore was
influenced by a number of factors; firstly, QANTAS reported a $215million profit
loss for the half year ending December 31st 2011, compared to the same time the
previous year. QANTASalso plans to reimage its heavy maintenance on its A380
Jumbo Jets and other large aircraft; by sending this maintenance offshore they can
save millions.

the world s second oldest airline, and has a successful history to uphold.

QANTAS hopes to save $100million a year in this consolidation, with one off costs
from the Tullamarine facility and the redundancies costing almost $50million.
QANTAS International will also be facing an improvement as it is a large aspect
of the QANTAS brand and has also suffered financial hardship over the previous
years. The news that QANTAS would be cutting 1000 jobs over a 5 year plan,
including orders for a new AirBus and talks of a new Asian airline as well as a new
Japanese low cost carrier that would work jointly with Japan Airlines, was received
well by investors who initially cheered the announcement, sending Qantas shares up
as much as 4.3 per cent, but the stock retreated in afternoon trade to close down half
a cent at $1.525.

What change management processes needed to have taken place?
Were the change management processes well managed?
What could they have done better to counteract the disgruntled union and workers?
There are a number of change management processes that needed to have taken

make hundreds of jobs redundant in its plan to cut costs and improve work
efficiency. QANTAS was keen to be more market oriented and leveraged on its core

Winter Wheat Research Paper
Stichler and Livingston (1999) previously stated that a major advantage of winter
wheat compared with other small grain species that could be grown for winter
forage production is its excellent tolerance to abiotic stresses including cold and
drought. In addition, wheat forage has relatively high nutritive values including high
protein, energy values, minerals, and low fiber concentrations, compared with
barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), oat (Avena sativa L.), and rye (Secale cereale L.)
forages. Generally, forage yield of winter wheatfrom late November to early March
is more consistent and productive than that of the other species (Denman and
Arnold, 1970; Watson et al., 1993). Bockus et al. (2001) and Watson et al. (1993)
mentioned that susceptibility of winter wheat to Hessian fly [Mayetiola destructor
(Say)], leaf rust (incited by Puccinia triticina), and several virus diseases could be
obstacles for successful winter forage production, especially in early planted regions.

Prasad and Power (1997) and Sparks (2003) reported that soil acidity caused by the
nitrification process, organic matter decomposition, and acid rain has been a major
limitation for winter forage production in the southern Great Plains. Therefore,
development of winter wheat varieties tolerant to acidic soil and high Al
concentration is one of important goals for the winter wheat breeding programs,
especially in the southern Great Plains (Johnson et al.,
Reflection Of The Piano
For this concert report, I am going to be focusing on the last piece of the concert,
Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67. This piece was written in the
classical period. I am choosing this piece to focus on because when I heard it, I felt
that I was being told a story of a war and specifically of a single soldier and his
experience. Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67 has 4 movements
throughout the piece. The first movement is Allegro con brio, the second Andante
con moto, and the third and fourth are both Allegro. The first movement, Allegro con
Brio, starts the story off in a battle focusing on a single soldier and his fight. The
tempowas quite fast throughout the movement making the idea of a battle taking
place set in. The program has already stated that the piece was in C Minor, but you
can tell that it is by the sense of conflict and pain that is heard throughout the piece.
This first movement has a great variation of dynamics as well. There are long
sections of fortissimo that, to me, sound like the intense fighting, and then there are
sections of piano and mezzo piano that, to me, sound like lulls in the scene where the
soldier notices something very sad right before he is whisked back into the fight. This
sense of a fight scene is also noted with the technical styling of the movement. During
the intense fights the melody is staccato and accented, and during the points that the
soldier can take a breath and look around at the horror unfolding

This circuit diagram shows how a 555 timer IC is configured to function as a basic
monostable multivibrator. A monostable multivibrator is a timing circuit that changes
state once triggered, but returns to its original state after a certain time delay. It got
its name from the fact that only one of its output states is stable. It is also known as
a one shot .
In this circuit, a negative pulse applied at pin 2 triggers an internal flip flop that turns
off pin 7 s discharge transistor, allowing C1 to charge up through
R1. At the same time, the flip flop brings the output (pin 3) level to high . When
capacitor C1 as charged up to about 2/3 Vcc, the flip flop is triggered once again,
this time making the pin 3 output low and turning on pin 7 s discharge transistor,
which discharges C1 to ground. This circuit, in effect, produces a pulse at pin 3
whose width t is just the product of R1 and C1, i.e., t=R1C1.
IR Transmission circuit is used to generate the modulated 36 kHz IR signal. The
IC555 in the transmitter side is to generate 36 kHz square wave. Adjust the preset in
the transmitter to get a 38 kHz
Compound Nouns Essay
ObjectiveThis year my third grade class began a lesson on compound nouns. We
began by playing a matching game. Each child picked a card with a word on it.
They then had to try to find a partner who had another word that would pair up with
theirs to make a new word. The children were very excited, but no one made the
connection with compoundwords. Once they were paired up, each student said their
wordand their new word. At this point, they started guessing that we ere going to
talk about compound nouns. I observed the children s excitement begin to
diminish when they realized they were not just playing but learning too. I heard
one of my boys whisper to a friend, She tricked us again. Yeah, she s always good
for that, was the response. At this point, I asked the children if anyone could guess
my favorite compound noun. Since this seemed like another game, the energy
level began to rise. With no one guessing the correct answer, I told them my
favorite compound noun was grasshopper. They began to laugh and wanted to
know why. I told them it was because I loved to eat grasshopper pie. There were
lots of laughs and kids shouting gross. I asked them if they had ever had
grasshopper pie and of course, no one had. Throughout many of my lessons I use a
cross curricular approach, so this lesson fit right in. To incorporate math, we made a
chart that showed how many students thought they would like grasshopper pie. Most
of the boys were talking
Esther Vs Ruth
The story of Esther is a tale written to inspire people to act bravely and wisely in a
situation of crisis; Esther s story also serves as a back story to the holiday of Purim,
which represents salvation. The book of Esther is a unique book because there is no
direct mention of God or religious traditions, this causes some people to doubt the
authenticity of Esther. This sparked a debate among the early rabbis and Christian
leaders of whether to include the story in the Bible, but ultimately the book was
accepted as canonical. In the Bible, Esther and Ruth are the only two women who
have books named after them; they are both seen as heroic figures, especially Esther
by the Jews because she reshapes the destiny of her people. Although in the... Show

In Goswell s article, he states several examples from the story where God could be
mentioned but deliberately is not. One of those examples is when Mordecai tells
Esther that assistance will come from somewhere else, which, some commentators
assume be to a reference to God, but Goswell states that Mordecai urges Esther to
help because she is the only one who can deliver the Jews because of her unique
position and essential role. As Goswell states, The key verse suggests that God s
control of events, while assumed, probably is not stated precisely so that the roles
of Mordecai, Esther, and the other Jews might take center stage (103). Goswell
supports his argument of the biblical authors intention by explaining the motive of
not mentioning God so readers can see the courageous acts of a human instead of
God leading. Goswell states, the answer may be that this was done with the aim of
focusing attention upon the human initiative and courage of the Jewish protagonists,
especially as modeled by Esther (105). Clearly emphasizing that the biblical author
had no intention of showing that God is in control or there is a plan unlike in the
story of Moses where God

Over 200,000 Thai nationals were working in Saudi in 1989, and millions of dollars

Thai workers dropped from 200,000 in 1989 to merely 10,000 in 2011. (Meghan A.

Thailand have attempted to improve its diplomat relations with Saudi Arabia, but
their attempts have failed because of the failures to solve the murder cases and seek

Taylor faces a predicament regarding her lumberyard...
Taylor faces a predicament regarding her lumberyard business and employees due
to competitive pressures. She may have to make a choice to save her business,
which would be at the cost of her employee s welfare. Therefore, in this paper we
will explore through the various ethical theories and help Taylor adopt an ethical
decision that will save the future of her business and employees. The main ethical
dilemma is that Taylor likes to pay her employees a higher wage so they are able to
live a comfortable lifestyle. However, if she continues to employ her employees at a
higher wage in comparison to her competitors then she may run out of business soon.
This is because her competitors are keeping their lumber prices low... Show more

The employees will receive satisfaction momentarily and will eventually face
unemployment in the future, due to the shutting down of the business. This
approach could be criticized for being ethical and helpful for only a short period of
time. Deontology, however, focuses on the study of the fundamental duties in life. It
suggests dealing with moral dilemmas ideally by obeying preset rules. If Taylor
chooses to seek the best solution among the alternatives in accordance with the
theory of Deontology, then she may choose to lower the wages of her employees in
order to keep the business running or let go off a few workers and employ the rest at
the current wage. This may be considered ethical keeping in mind the rules of
business that prevents a business owner from jeopardizing his/her own business. At
the same time it can be argued that by following the rules of business, one may
contradict the basic duties of life towards other beings, which has been emphasized
by many deontologists. Consequentialism on the other hand, accounts for the
consequences of actions. In fact consequentialists don t take in to consideration the
intention behind actions and are driven towards the end results. One of the highlighted
Research On Asian American Identity Essay
Sitting in a circle, most of those who were staring at me also looked like me black
hair, squinted eyes, and yellow skin. Not twenty minutes ago, I paced around the
heart of a predominantly white college campus. Now, I was introducing myself to
the members of Asian Students United (ASU). While I was never a part of ASU, I
asked one of the organization s executive board (eboard) members Tien, who
happened to a Facebook friend if I could attend a couple of their meetings to conduct
research on Asian Americanidentity. He delightfully agreed. After all, from an
outsider perspective, I would fit right in. At these meetings, I participated in many
of their activities, which included making a quilt and participating in discussions.
Yet, I was always observant and somewhat detached because this was all new to
me, making me an observer participant. This allowed me to observe a range of
details; however, because I was so new, such details may have been unimportant to
those whom I studied. On the other hand, my Vietnamese church was all too
familiar. As a full participant in the church and a former participant in Youth for
Christ (YFC), I was pressed to critically observe and dissect these interactions.
While I still asked the group leader for a chance to observe YFC meetings, data
from this second site may be more biased toward the way I have known people in
this institution from prior years. As a tradeoff, though, being a participant observer
may have allowed me to note more

The U.S great depression is a good example of a downward spiral of what the

Reflection Essay I would describe my writing process as a fairly simple one. First I
would choose a topic that appealed to me. Secondly, I would just sit down and start
writing. Lastly, I usually wrote my paper in parts. I d skip the introduction and
conclusion till the very last tasks, so I always wrote my body paragraphs first. A
challenge I faced would be that I had writer s block for a few of my projects because
I did the writing structure out of order; specifically in The Texas Chain Saw
Massacre and Language and Power essays. The struggle was that I didn t create a
thesis before writing the body paragraphs, so I had no idea what I was writing.
Most of the time I came up with my points on the spot, which was quite
challenging. Sometimes I couldn t express what I wanted on paper clearly. The
ideas were in my head, but I didn t know how to form a sentence for them. I got
through the writer s block by looking through the readings and doing research if
needed. Doing this helped my papers reach the requirements for completion. The
benefit of writing my body paragraphs for these essays was that I had a few ideas
on what I could form my thesis on. Another challenge I encountered would be that
I often started a paper late or I didn t give myself enough time to finish a writing.
This was applicable to my satirical piece and rhetorical analysis. I m pretty sure I
came up with my idea a few days before my first

These four were easy because one needs: a leader to keep things organized, someone

For the last two slots in the shelter they had a hard time deciding. Some wanted to

the effects the nukes had on the environment. When building a new society there is

Media Ethics Essay
Introduction
Media ethics refers to a comprehensive set of standards and principles that govern the
way journalism and media reporting is practiced. The issue of media ethics has
resurfaced in recent years due to how media coverage has been reshaped due to the
speed and manner of news dissemination through social media and the Internet. There
are several ethical theories that journalists across all media must apply to situations
they face in order to report a fair and unbiased story such as truthfulness, conflict of
interest, sensationalism, accuracy and authenticity of photographs.
Ethical problems can be summarized under two categories; errors of omission and
errors of commission. Errors of omission refers to journalists practicing their role
as models of truthfulness and accuracy by not allowing outside influences on their
work, such as downplaying a story as not to upset a high powered person, or
allowing sources to preview and suggest edits to a story in order. Errors of
commission refer to actions such as conflicts of interest, bribery, sensationalism and
so on. These errors have real life consequences such as placing lives in danger,
reducing the quality of journalism, and propagating harmful ideas.

While all media outlets work for profit, a code of ethics must still govern over the
way they report stories and get their sources. Unfortunately, this is not always the
case. During the infamous Charlie Hebdo attacks in France, french news outlets
were in a frenzy trying to report updates on the attacks. These news outlets reported
were people were hiding while the attacks on the Charlie Hebdo headquarters were
still taking place. These hostages eventually sued these news outlets for endangering
their lives. In an attempt to keep up with the speed of news dissemination on social
media, these news outlets put people s lives in danger for the cost of a
Taking a Look at the FTAA and the NAFTA
During the formative years of the FTAA between 1996 through 2005, the initial
negotiations saw little progress towards the overarching goal of removing trade
barriers with regards to services and goods. The FTAA was never meant to fuse the
economies of states of the Western Hemisphere, but instead help the movement of
free tradein the region, as countries were already initiating free trade agreements and
custom unions through bilateral or regional treaties, which allowed the building of
connections between North, South and Latin America. The FTAA was meant to
provide better organization towards this movement, even allowing a reduction in
uncertainty about the future course of trade and regulatory policies.
How come Latin America and the Caribbean countries reverse the discourse, after
decades of opposition to expansive trade ties with the United States? In most cases,
the reversal was caused by a mass wave of in national economic policies and
development strategies due to the failure of development from the 1960 s and 1970
s, the give way of debt finance due to the Latin American debt crisis of the 1980s,
and the pressures originating from the advance of globalization. The work initiated by
Mexico leaders would go on to pressure many Caribbean and Latin American
countries into wanting to join trade ties after the intiation of the North American Free
Trade Agreement.

How Far Do You Agree That Garibaldi Played a More Essay
How far do you agree that Garibaldi played a more important part than Cavour in the
Unification of Italy?
Garibaldi and Cavour were two very influential people in the unification for Italy and
without them the unification may not have occurred. Although they both ultimately
wanted the same thing, the unification of Italy, they went about it in different ways.
Cavour was a highly intellectual man, who orchestrated things from a political stand
point ensuring good relations with countries like France, of which without the
unification may never have succeeded. Garibaldi on the other hand was more of
people s person, a leader of men who was very direct and his actions such as the
taking of Naples and Sicily allowed Italy to unite properly and ... Show more content

This is one area where he differed from Garibaldi, as there was a point where
Garibaldi s popularity threatened the Risorgimento itself. However there is no
doubting that Cavour was a brilliant politician and improved Piedmont as a whole,
making them modernised and by doing this it may have created the possibility of
Piedmont being a viable ally to France in Napoleons eyes. He also stirred up anti
Austrian beliefs in Piedmont and this helped make the state rally as a whole. If there
is one downfall of Cavour it is the fact that most of what he done was for Piedmont,
and seemed to rather extend Piedmont than make a united Italy, he perhaps could not
appeal to the impoverished states of the south. So in terms of looking at things as a
whole his impact was limited and although he made Piedmont very powerful in terms
of uniting the whole of Italy it is questionable just how important he was. But without
him there wouldn t have been a friendship with France that ultimately allowed Austria
to be driven out, and without this unification wouldn t have been possible.
Garibaldi on the other hand made his fame more through military exploits, showing
himself to be a great military leader and creating an image in the Italian people s
mind of a true hero in which everyone could get behind. He appealed to the people
especially that of the south through his rough upbringing
Salinger s Short Story Analysis
Salinger s dialogue that reveals his character s innermost workings, and he does so
despite the swarm of academics that rally against him. High school writing classes
across the country are fighting the perceived menace of the word said. They print
lists of alternate verbs, hang posters that say Said is Dead, and push students to
page through thesauruses, creating an unbearable tide of big word writers afraid
to use a four letter word. In this rising tide Salinger s writing is all the more
refreshing, for he is the patron saint of Said. People don t sputter in Salinger s short
stories. They don t pled or moan or ramble. They don t sob sentences, laugh
soliloquies, or whisper monologues. They don t need to. They simply say. A... Show

Franny s response is a series of fragments and broken off sentences that span two

has been critiqued for so called shallow concerns. John Updike famously referred to
Franny as, a pretty college girl passing though a plausible moment of disgust in his
New York Times review of Franny and Zooey. He calls Franny pretty to demean her
intelligence. He calls her girl to demean her perspective. His use of plausible
indicates that he finds her character understandable. John Updike may be a
wonderful author and an eloquent reviewer, but he will never understand Franny. I
understood her when I read Franny for the first time. There is no trick to it, it is
simply that she was speaking for me. Updike, well, perhaps Lane was speaking for

Brief Description Of Technology And Assisted

Brief description of technology
Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) refers to the technology used to assist
human reproduction for individuals who are infertile (inability to conceive after
trying for at least 12 months). Assisted Reproductive Technologies are categorized as
HardwareThere are a variety of assisted reproductive technologies that are used to
help couples reproduce:
In vitro fertilization (IVF) this is fertilization outside of the body. IVF is the most
effective and the most common form of ART.
Zygote intra fallopian transfer (ZIFT) or tubal embryo transfer this is similar to IVF.
Fertilization occurs in the laboratory. The embryo is then transferred to the fallopian
tube instead of the uterus.

In Australia, approximately 3.1% of births are a result of Assisted Reproductive
Technology. ARTs have evolved over the last three decades into a suite of mainstream
medical interventions that have resulted in the birth of more than 4.3 million children
worldwide (2010). Scientific advancements continue to emerge in the field of ART
technologies, clinical practice and patient characteristics. ART has changed over the
last three decades with the development of technology such as complex ovarian hyper
stimulation protocols and numerous variations to the typical IVF treatment cycle
Reproductive technology was developed in the biology and genetics of the embryo as
it is now possible to test for chromosome and gene defects in the embryo, prior to
implantation. This technique is called preimplantation genetic testing or
preimplantation genetic diagnosis and is when one or more cells are removed from
the embryo and analysed for chromosomal disorders or genetic diseases before
embryo transfer. Therefore, assisted reproductive technologies (ART) not only assist
in conception but can also avoid the birth of a child with a disability or hereditary
disease. While new technologies continue to extend the available options for infertile
couples, they also have the potential to help single women and homosexual couples to
have children. Overall, these technologies have developed from when they were first
introduced to now and have
Causes of Stress Essay
Causes of Stress
Introduction
So, what causes the stress that can be so bad for you?
Some people may have a nervous system that goes into a stress reaction more readily
than others. This could be due to individual differences in genetics and brain
chemistry.
To try to understand stress better, we need to consider the psychological factors
involved emotional and cognitive (thinking) factors.
Research has suggested that major stressors in our lives are life changes, for
example, moving house, marriage or relationship breakdown. Work related factors,
including unemployment and boredom, are also common causes of stress.
Differences in personality may also play a part.

Other research in the 1990 s showed a correlation between high levels of negative life
events with increased vulnerability to colds.
The trouble with this social readjustment rating scale is that it does not account for
the fact that some people will find the same sort of event less stressful than others for
example, divorce could be perceived as a relief or a disaster. We cannot give reliable
predictions about risks of stress related illness based on this scale.
Lazarus and colleagues in the 1980s came up with a different stress measurement
scale called the hassles and uplifts scale . They claimed that, rather than major life
changes, it is day to day hassles or small uplifts that determine our overall levels of
stress.
It has been found that found that high scores on hassles for example, being stuck in
traffic or minor arguments with partner correlated with symptoms of anxiety
disorders and depression.
Personality and stress
In the 1970s, Friedman and Rosenman carried out a nine year study of 1000 people
to try to find out if personality type affected stress levels. They came up with the idea
of the Type A personality illustrated below:
The typical type A personis competitive, time conscious, workaholic and easily
frustrated with others. Researchers have suggested that this sort of person would be

Physical Therapy For Injuries
When an injury requires that a person immobilizes the area injured to prevent
movement during the healing process, it can cause muscles to atrophy. Tendons and
ligaments also become stiff and affect the range of motion when the injured area has
healed. An orthopedist will often send patients to an Injury Rehabilitation Clinic to
help the patient regain strength and range of motion, under the supervision of a
licensed physical therapist.
Physical therapy is used to reduce chronic pain, and to help restore physical function
once an injury has healed. Therapists will also explain to patients how to avoid
further injury in the future. They use manual therapy such as ultrasound, electrical
stimulation, and hot and cold therapy to relieve swelling

against Pierre Trudeau. The RIN was involved in a riot which took place in Montreal

negotiation was resumed in the August of 1968, the RIN held their early position of
making Quebeca unilingual and thus the RIN withdrew from the negotiation.
Meanwhile, the MSA and RN was integrated, Rene Levesque was chosen as acting

Intoxication from methanol is similar to being drunk. CBS News noted Dewshine
can cause gastric symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea, and nausea. It can also cause
neurologic symptoms such as coma, confusion, seizures, agitated behaviour, and
difficulty in walking. Experts from the CDC have urged parents, community leaders,
educators, medical professionals, and public health officials to emphasise how
debilitating methanol as an alcohol substitute can be. The centre further warns that
symptoms may not appear right after ingestion, but it should not discourage victims
from seeking medical help. After 6 hours, the victim is likely to become drowsy,
experience gastric symptoms, and then followed by more serious neurological
symptoms. In Czech Republic, 20 died and 40 others were in serious condition after

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles ( Uavs )
Drones, or formally referred to as Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), are machines
that primarily controlled through remote controls or computers. Individuals on the
ground are the ones who usually control the flight of this vehicle through a remote
control. However, depending on the type and model of the drone, autonomous flight
can occur through the embedded computer systems of the drone. Due to the vast
amounts shapes and sizes of drones, there is not set standard when classifying this
type of vehicle (Corrigan, 2015). However, the military does use a system for
classifying the size of drones as this technology is used regularly in this area. This
system will be discussed in further detail in the later portions of this section. Drones...

Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is
often reserved for drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of
damage done to the propellers, propeller guards can be purchased and used to
prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones. These guards also ensure the
safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who may be
located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with
this particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better
the flight experience will be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area
involves low noise propellers as drones are often known for making a buzzing
sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the name, these
propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at
the rear of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of
the drone, these actually rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers
(Quimby, 2015). This action cancels out motor torques during stationary flight.
These propellers, same as the standard propellers, are also made of either plastic
and carbon fiber. In addition, drone propeller guards can be bought and placed
around the propellers. Brushless Motors Brushless motors are considered to be a
high performance motor that is capable of providing large amounts of torque over a
vast speed

Women And The Construction Industry
With the construction industry projected to grow over the next several years and
project management positions in high demand, the makeup of the construction
industry is often overlooked. When one looks at a jobsite, or even thinks of the
construction industry, the most common image that comes to mind is men working
away in hardhats and neon vests, with women completely irrelevant to this picture.
Women are the largest untapped resource of the construction industry, as it is
believed that men makeup around 99% of the industry (Williams, 2015). For women
entering into the world of construction, it is hard to penetrate the male stigma that
clouds this field, which is why many women often do not pursue careers in
construction. The stereotype of male construction workers must be challenged in
order to help women thrive in construction industry. Women are underrepresented in
the construction industry due to a number of reasons such as, sexism, harassment,
intimidation, and a downfall of opportunities.
Patricia Valeroy, a young college student at Columbia University, began her first
summer internship at large construction company. Although studying civil
engineering, her internship was a construction management position on a luxury high
rise in New York. Eager to get started at what she thought would be the most ideal
internship, her hopes were quickly crestfallen, as the senior construction manager told
her he was unwilling to work with women. As she was sent to do other tasks,

Criticism Of Cultural Criticism
Everything that points to cultural studies or criticism portrays it as a complex
theory which derives its strength from an uncanny sense of incertitude, as it covers a
wide expanse of the areas of literary criticism. To begin with, a basic understanding
is quite appropriate. It is this kind of complexity in question that caused Angela
McRobbie to talk of the messiness of cultural studies(722). By this is meant, most
probably, that its roots are too deeply convoluted and intertwined in a single woof
with other theories.
Beginning on the level of definition, Bennet writes that, Cultural Studies has been
defined as an interdisciplinary endeavour concerned with the analysis of cultural
forms and activities in the context of the relations of power which condition their
production, circulation, deployment and, of course, effects (60). Cultural criticism,
in essence, has more to do with literature and its subtle projections of society. Also,
the complexity and flexibility of this framework accords the opportunity to glide
from one theory of relevance to another without exactly straying away totally, since
cultural criticism has established relationships with a myriad of other theoretical
frameworks. It is for this reason that Jarvis purports: In addition to appearing in a
variety of subject areas, cultural studies is also associated with a wide range of
critical theories that includes Marxism and feminism, postcolonialism and
psychoanalysis, structuralism and

Animal Testing Is A Catastrophe
Animal testing is a catastrophe. Do you agree? Animals play a significant role in our
existence, they involve in food chain and help in the sustainability of bio diversity.
Unfortunately they entered the scientific field through the experiments of new drugs.
The utilization of creatures in exploratory investigations in the UK can be followed
back at any rate similarly as the seventeenth Century with Harvey s analyses on
various creature species intending to show blood flow. Crosswise over Europe, the
utilization of creatures in experimental examination started to grow over the
nineteenth Century, to some degree upheld by the improvement of analgesics which
had already made creature research incomprehensible. In 1876, parliament passed the
Cruelty to Animals Act, the principal enactment went for directing creature tests.
Over the late nineteenth and the twentieth hundreds of years, the extension of
restorative science implied that the quantities of creatures utilized as a part of
examination extended relentlessly, quickened by the Medicines Act, 1968, which
gave a clearer manual for the utilization of creatures in wellbeing testing in the wake
of the Thalidomide catastrophe. The quantity of creatures utilized rose to more than
5.5 million in 1970 after which indicate the numbers started decrease quickly. This

Advanced Classes Vs Honors Classes Essay
Many colleges, including community colleges, do not often recognize the immense
difference between advanced placement classes (AP) in public high schools and
honors classes. While AP classes are suitable for some students, more highly
advanced students find themselves bored; this is why schools decided to offer honors
classes. While these classes are a better substitute than the option of having nothing

offered. However, the recognition of student s hard work and dutiful labor often
falls between the cracks when it comes to getting into a college, and what colleges
look for and at. The bulk of academies look for a potential student s GPA (grade point
average), SAT and ACT scores, the application essay, and extracurricular activities.
The GPA is essentially the sum total of a person s grades. Thus, most colleges do not
look at specific grades for specific classes. As
The Negative Impacts Of Global Media
Brand Over
Technology has improved dramatically, to open the gate of globalization during the
changing stages of media and communication. These very functions have played an
important role in economic growth and at the same time spreads culture growth
globally, and with the revolution of global media, it helps the world become smaller
and easier to reach. With its growth and capability, global media has attracted many
capitalists, especially who are from the West, to grab such opportunity. This has
become a question is it true, that the global media systems are mostly controlled by
Western transnational media forums, and is there any negative impact from such
actions?
The 2016, top six media corporations on revenue are ($59.62 billion), Walt Disney
($22.45 billion), Comcast ($19.72 billion), 21st Century Fox ($18.67 billion),
Facebook ($11.49 billion), Viacom ($9.61 billion), CBS Corporation.
Comcast is an entertainment branding provider considered in providing Cable,
Internet, Wifi, Phone services, and now Home Security features for families and is in
the Oligopoly Market Structure. It s a multimedia company leading the market with
many assets controlled. There are few large companies in this industry that have
products that are the same, but they differentiate in the ways they are offered.
Companies in this industry must work together to co exist somewhat; they typically
counteract what the other companies are offering because they may have an upper
hand to direct rights

Shooting An Elephant Essay

  • 1. Shooting An Elephant Essay Crafting an essay on the topic of "Shooting An Elephant" can be a challenging endeavor, demanding a delicate balance between literary analysis, historical context, and personal reflection. George Orwell's essay, a poignant exploration of imperialism, power dynamics, and moral dilemmas, requires a nuanced approach to unpack its layers. To start, delving into the text demands a keen eye for Orwell's language and the subtle nuances of his narrative. Analyzing the symbolism behind the elephant and its connection to the broader themes of colonialism can be intellectually demanding. Furthermore, understanding the historical backdrop of the British Empire and Orwell's personal experiences in Burma is essential for providing a comprehensive context. Navigating the essay's emotional landscape is another aspect that adds complexity. The internal conflict faced by the narrator, torn between his role as a colonial officer and his moral compass, requires careful examination and thoughtful expression. Balancing empathy for the protagonist with critical analysis is a delicate task that demands a writer's finesse. The broader implications of the essay also warrant exploration. Addressing the lasting relevance of Orwell's work in the context of contemporary societal structures and power dynamics adds an additional layer of complexity. Formulating a coherent argument that ties together these various elements while maintaining a clear and engaging writing style is no small feat. In conclusion, writing an essay on "Shooting An Elephant" is a task that demands intellectual acuity, historical insight, and emotional intelligence. Successfully weaving these components together into a cohesive and compelling narrative requires dedication and skill. However, for those seeking assistance, it's worth noting that similar essays and a wide range of writing services can be explored on platforms like HelpWriting.net. • 2. Essay on Compare and Contrast Comedy and Tragedy Compare and Contrast Comedy and Tragedy In a comparison of comedy and tragedy, I will begin by looking at narrative. The narration in a comedy often involves union and togetherness as we see in the marriage scene at the end of Midsummer s Night Dream. William Hazlitt tells us that one can also expect incongruities, misunderstandings, and contradictions. I am reminded of the play The Importance of Being Ernest and the humor by way of mistaken identity. Sigmund Freud tells us to expect excess and exaggeration in comedy. Chekhov s Marriage Proposal displays this excess both in language and in movements. Charles Darwin insists that in a comedy circumstances must not be of a momentous nature; whereas, Northop Frye identifies ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Comic characters are often likable and sweet as Jack and Algeron in The Importance of Being Ernest. Oliver Goldsmith characterizes comic characters as being good and exceedingly generous as well as having an abundance of sentiment and feeling. Goldsmith is speaking especially of sentimental comedy, the forerunner of the sit com. Tragic characters, however, are usually of a higher class, even nobility Aristotle tells us. This seems to be more the case the further back in history we go. Oedipus fits this description far better than the characters in Desire Under the Elms. Characters in tragedy may be heroic and seem larger than life as does Hamlet. A quality of greatness is usually seen through characters in a tragedy. Comedies and tragedies also differ in their audience appeal. Hazlitt tells us when watching comedy we laugh at what disappoints our expectations in trifles. But Henri Bergson warns us to expect laughter without feeling. Bergson also believes that a group is necessary for comedy to work. George Meredith says that comedy is dependent on a society where there is social freedom and common sense. This may be why Chekhov s The Cherry Orchard is seen by some as a comedy but not by others. Since it comments on social change, the humor would be a strain for Russian audiences who lack the social freedom necessary to laugh at such ideas. Tragedy, on the other hand, evokes fear and pity according
  • 3. Essay about Qantas Case Study Case Study QANTAS Restructuring Lachlan Sorby This report was commissioned to examine QANTAS management processes and other business strategies. QANTAS decision to move some operations offshore was influenced by a number of factors; firstly, QANTAS reported a $215million profit loss for the half year ending December 31st 2011, compared to the same time the previous year. QANTASalso plans to reimage its heavy maintenance on its A380 Jumbo Jets and other large aircraft; by sending this maintenance offshore they can save millions. Qantas is one of the most recognised and longest running Australian companies. It is the world s second oldest airline, and has a successful history to uphold. Over the next 5 years Qantas aims ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... QANTAS hopes to save $100million a year in this consolidation, with one off costs from the Tullamarine facility and the redundancies costing almost $50million. QANTAS International will also be facing an improvement as it is a large aspect of the QANTAS brand and has also suffered financial hardship over the previous years. The news that QANTAS would be cutting 1000 jobs over a 5 year plan, including orders for a new AirBus and talks of a new Asian airline as well as a new Japanese low cost carrier that would work jointly with Japan Airlines, was received well by investors who initially cheered the announcement, sending Qantas shares up as much as 4.3 per cent, but the stock retreated in afternoon trade to close down half a cent at $1.525. 2. What then happened once the decision was made What change management processes needed to have taken place? Were the change management processes well managed? What could they have done better to counteract the disgruntled union and workers? There are a number of change management processes that needed to have taken place when QANTAS announced plans to move some of its operations offshore and make hundreds of jobs redundant in its plan to cut costs and improve work efficiency. QANTAS was keen to be more market oriented and leveraged on its core competencies to provide premium and
  • 4. Winter Wheat Research Paper Stichler and Livingston (1999) previously stated that a major advantage of winter wheat compared with other small grain species that could be grown for winter forage production is its excellent tolerance to abiotic stresses including cold and drought. In addition, wheat forage has relatively high nutritive values including high protein, energy values, minerals, and low fiber concentrations, compared with barley (Hordeum vulgare L.), oat (Avena sativa L.), and rye (Secale cereale L.) forages. Generally, forage yield of winter wheatfrom late November to early March is more consistent and productive than that of the other species (Denman and Arnold, 1970; Watson et al., 1993). Bockus et al. (2001) and Watson et al. (1993) mentioned that susceptibility of winter wheat to Hessian fly [Mayetiola destructor (Say)], leaf rust (incited by Puccinia triticina), and several virus diseases could be obstacles for successful winter forage production, especially in early planted regions. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Prasad and Power (1997) and Sparks (2003) reported that soil acidity caused by the nitrification process, organic matter decomposition, and acid rain has been a major limitation for winter forage production in the southern Great Plains. Therefore, development of winter wheat varieties tolerant to acidic soil and high Al concentration is one of important goals for the winter wheat breeding programs, especially in the southern Great Plains (Johnson et al.,
  • 5. Reflection Of The Piano For this concert report, I am going to be focusing on the last piece of the concert, Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67. This piece was written in the classical period. I am choosing this piece to focus on because when I heard it, I felt that I was being told a story of a war and specifically of a single soldier and his experience. Beethoven s Symphony no. 5 in C Minor, op. 67 has 4 movements throughout the piece. The first movement is Allegro con brio, the second Andante con moto, and the third and fourth are both Allegro. The first movement, Allegro con Brio, starts the story off in a battle focusing on a single soldier and his fight. The tempowas quite fast throughout the movement making the idea of a battle taking place set in. The program has already stated that the piece was in C Minor, but you can tell that it is by the sense of conflict and pain that is heard throughout the piece. This first movement has a great variation of dynamics as well. There are long sections of fortissimo that, to me, sound like the intense fighting, and then there are sections of piano and mezzo piano that, to me, sound like lulls in the scene where the soldier notices something very sad right before he is whisked back into the fight. This sense of a fight scene is also noted with the technical styling of the movement. During the intense fights the melody is staccato and accented, and during the points that the soldier can take a breath and look around at the horror unfolding

  • 7. monostable multivibrator. A monostable multivibrator is a timing circuit that changes state once triggered, but returns to its original state after a certain time delay. It got its name from the fact that only one of its output states is stable. It is also known as a one shot . In this circuit, a negative pulse applied at pin 2 triggers an internal flip flop that turns off pin 7 s discharge transistor, allowing C1 to charge up through R1. At the same time, the flip flop brings the output (pin 3) level to high . When capacitor C1 as charged up to about 2/3 Vcc, the flip flop is triggered once again, this time making the pin 3 output low and turning on pin 7 s discharge transistor, which discharges C1 to ground. This circuit, in effect, produces a pulse at pin 3 whose width t is just the product of R1 and C1, i.e., t=R1C1. IR Transmission circuit is used to generate the modulated 36 kHz IR signal. The IC555 in the transmitter side is to generate 36 kHz square wave. Adjust the preset in the transmitter to get a 38 kHz
  • 8. Compound Nouns Essay ObjectiveThis year my third grade class began a lesson on compound nouns. We began by playing a matching game. Each child picked a card with a word on it. They then had to try to find a partner who had another word that would pair up with theirs to make a new word. The children were very excited, but no one made the connection with compoundwords. Once they were paired up, each student said their wordand their new word. At this point, they started guessing that we ere going to talk about compound nouns. I observed the children s excitement begin to diminish when they realized they were not just playing but learning too. I heard one of my boys whisper to a friend, She tricked us again. Yeah, she s always good for that, was the response. At this point, I asked the children if anyone could guess my favorite compound noun. Since this seemed like another game, the energy level began to rise. With no one guessing the correct answer, I told them my favorite compound noun was grasshopper. They began to laugh and wanted to know why. I told them it was because I loved to eat grasshopper pie. There were lots of laughs and kids shouting gross. I asked them if they had ever had grasshopper pie and of course, no one had. Throughout many of my lessons I use a cross curricular approach, so this lesson fit right in. To incorporate math, we made a chart that showed how many students thought they would like grasshopper pie. Most of the boys were talking
  • 9. Esther Vs Ruth The story of Esther is a tale written to inspire people to act bravely and wisely in a situation of crisis; Esther s story also serves as a back story to the holiday of Purim, which represents salvation. The book of Esther is a unique book because there is no direct mention of God or religious traditions, this causes some people to doubt the authenticity of Esther. This sparked a debate among the early rabbis and Christian leaders of whether to include the story in the Bible, but ultimately the book was accepted as canonical. In the Bible, Esther and Ruth are the only two women who have books named after them; they are both seen as heroic figures, especially Esther by the Jews because she reshapes the destiny of her people. One of those examples is when Mordecai tells Esther that assistance will come from somewhere else, which, some commentators assume be to a reference to God, but Goswell states that Mordecai urges Esther to help because she is the only one who can deliver the Jews because of her unique position and essential role. As Goswell states, The key verse suggests that God s control of events, while assumed, probably is not stated precisely so that the roles of Mordecai, Esther, and the other Jews might take center stage (103). Goswell supports his argument of the biblical authors intention by explaining the motive of not mentioning God so readers can see the courageous acts of a human instead of God leading. Goswell states, the answer may be that this was done with the aim of focusing attention upon the human initiative and courage of the Jewish protagonists, especially as modeled by Esther (105). Clearly emphasizing that the biblical author had no intention of showing that God is in control or there is a plan unlike in the story of Moses where God

She may have to make a choice to save her business, which would be at the cost of her employee s welfare. Therefore, in this paper we will explore through the various ethical theories and help Taylor adopt an ethical decision that will save the future of her business and employees. The main ethical dilemma is that Taylor likes to pay her employees a higher wage so they are able to live a comfortable lifestyle. However, if she continues to employ her employees at a higher wage in comparison to her competitors then she may run out of business soon. This is because her competitors are keeping their lumber prices low... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The employees will receive satisfaction momentarily and will eventually face unemployment in the future, due to the shutting down of the business. This approach could be criticized for being ethical and helpful for only a short period of time. Deontology, however, focuses on the study of the fundamental duties in life. It suggests dealing with moral dilemmas ideally by obeying preset rules. If Taylor chooses to seek the best solution among the alternatives in accordance with the theory of Deontology, then she may choose to lower the wages of her employees in order to keep the business running or let go off a few workers and employ the rest at the current wage. This may be considered ethical keeping in mind the rules of business that prevents a business owner from jeopardizing his/her own business. At the same time it can be argued that by following the rules of business, one may contradict the basic duties of life towards other beings, which has been emphasized by many deontologists. Consequentialism on the other hand, accounts for the consequences of actions. In fact consequentialists don t take in to consideration the intention behind actions and are driven towards the end results. One of the highlighted

First I would choose a topic that appealed to me. Secondly, I would just sit down and start writing. Lastly, I usually wrote my paper in parts. I d skip the introduction and conclusion till the very last tasks, so I always wrote my body paragraphs first. A challenge I faced would be that I had writer s block for a few of my projects because I did the writing structure out of order; specifically in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and Language and Power essays. The struggle was that I didn t create a thesis before writing the body paragraphs, so I had no idea what I was writing. Most of the time I came up with my points on the spot, which was quite challenging. Sometimes I couldn t express what I wanted on paper clearly. The ideas were in my head, but I didn t know how to form a sentence for them. I got through the writer s block by looking through the readings and doing research if needed. Doing this helped my papers reach the requirements for completion. The benefit of writing my body paragraphs for these essays was that I had a few ideas on what I could form my thesis on. Another challenge I encountered would be that I often started a paper late or I didn t give myself enough time to finish a writing. This was applicable to my satirical piece and rhetorical analysis. • 19. Media Ethics Essay Introduction Media ethics refers to a comprehensive set of standards and principles that govern the way journalism and media reporting is practiced. The issue of media ethics has resurfaced in recent years due to how media coverage has been reshaped due to the speed and manner of news dissemination through social media and the Internet. There are several ethical theories that journalists across all media must apply to situations they face in order to report a fair and unbiased story such as truthfulness, conflict of interest, sensationalism, accuracy and authenticity of photographs. Ethical problems can be summarized under two categories; errors of omission and errors of commission. Errors of omission refers to journalists practicing their role as models of truthfulness and accuracy by not allowing outside influences on their work, such as downplaying a story as not to upset a high powered person, or allowing sources to preview and suggest edits to a story in order. Taking a Look at the FTAA and the NAFTA During the formative years of the FTAA between 1996 through 2005, the initial negotiations saw little progress towards the overarching goal of removing trade barriers with regards to services and goods. The FTAA was never meant to fuse the economies of states of the Western Hemisphere, but instead help the movement of free tradein the region, as countries were already initiating free trade agreements and custom unions through bilateral or regional treaties, which allowed the building of connections between North, South and Latin America. The FTAA was meant to provide better organization towards this movement, even allowing a reduction in uncertainty about the future course of trade and regulatory policies. How come Latin America and the Caribbean countries reverse the discourse, after decades of opposition to expansive trade ties with the United States? In most cases, the reversal was caused by a mass wave of in national economic policies and development strategies due to the failure of development from the 1960 s and 1970 s, the give way of debt finance due to the Latin American debt crisis of the 1980s, and the pressures originating from the advance of globalization. He also stirred up anti Austrian beliefs in Piedmont and this helped make the state rally as a whole. If there is one downfall of Cavour it is the fact that most of what he done was for Piedmont, and seemed to rather extend Piedmont than make a united Italy, he perhaps could not appeal to the impoverished states of the south. We cannot give reliable predictions about risks of stress related illness based on this scale. Falcon which symbolizes the illusionary happiness obtained by money seems to have dominated the characters seen in the novel and not even Sam Spade is left out. The characters are seen struggling; doing anything within their power and going out of their way to possess money and wealth and satisfy their lust for love and sex (Layman,

Essay On Dewshine The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued warnings for parents, public health officials following the death of two local Tennessee teens due to a lethal racing fuel and soda cocktail drink mix. Two Tennessee boys brought half a gallon of racing fuel to a party and mixed it with 2 litres of soda to create a concoction called Dewshine. The boys, together with two other teens, drank the mixture, according to Daily Mail. The morning after, one of the two, a 16 yr old boy named Logan Stephenson, was found dead on his bed. CBS News noted Dewshine can cause gastric symptoms of vomiting, diarrhoea, and nausea. It can also cause neurologic symptoms such as coma, confusion, seizures, agitated behaviour, and difficulty in walking. Experts from the CDC have urged parents, community leaders, educators, medical professionals, and public health officials to emphasise how debilitating methanol as an alcohol substitute can be. The centre further warns that symptoms may not appear right after ingestion, but it should not discourage victims from seeking medical help. After 6 hours, the victim is likely to become drowsy, experience gastric symptoms, and then followed by more serious neurological symptoms. In Czech Republic, 20 died and 40 others were in serious condition after a bootleg of an alcohol tainted with methanol reached the local market, according to The New York Times in 2012. Authorities believed the bootleg liquor were contaminated by Polish made antifreeze. The incident has led to a ban in liquors with 20 percent or higher alcohol

Individuals on the ground are the ones who usually control the flight of this vehicle through a remote control. However, depending on the type and model of the drone, autonomous flight can occur through the embedded computer systems of the drone. Due to the vast amounts shapes and sizes of drones, there is not set standard when classifying this type of vehicle (Corrigan, 2015). However, the military does use a system for classifying the size of drones as this technology is used regularly in this area. This system will be discussed in further detail in the later portions of this section. Drones... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Numerous propellers are manufactured out of plastic and carbon fiber, which is often reserved for drones of higher quality (Corrigan, 2015). To limit the amount of damage done to the propellers, propeller guards can be purchased and used to prevent unwanted outside contact with the drones. These guards also ensure the safety of individuals both controlling the drone remotely and those who may be located near the flight path. Significant amounts of innovation are occurring with this particular drone component. As the quality of propellers increase, the better the flight experience will be for owners. One of the sizable innovations in this area involves low noise propellers as drones are often known for making a buzzing sound as they fly through the air. Pusher Propellers As stated in the name, these propellers are responsible for pushing the drone through the air and are located at the rear of the drone. However, unlike the standard propellers located at the front of the drone, these actually rotate opposite of the direction of the standard propellers (Quimby, 2015). This action cancels out motor torques during stationary flight. These propellers, same as the standard propellers, are also made of either plastic and carbon fiber. In addition, drone propeller guards can be bought and placed around the propellers. Brushless Motors Brushless motors are considered to be a high performance motor that is capable of providing large amounts of torque over a vast speed

Women And The Construction Industry With the construction industry projected to grow over the next several years and project management positions in high demand, the makeup of the construction industry is often overlooked. When one looks at a jobsite, or even thinks of the construction industry, the most common image that comes to mind is men working away in hardhats and neon vests, with women completely irrelevant to this picture. Women are the largest untapped resource of the construction industry, as it is believed that men makeup around 99% of the industry (Williams, 2015). For women entering into the world of construction, it is hard to penetrate the male stigma that clouds this field, which is why many women often do not pursue careers in construction. • 38. Criticism Of Cultural Criticism Everything that points to cultural studies or criticism portrays it as a complex theory which derives its strength from an uncanny sense of incertitude, as it covers a wide expanse of the areas of literary criticism. To begin with, a basic understanding is quite appropriate. It is this kind of complexity in question that caused Angela McRobbie to talk of the messiness of cultural studies(722). By this is meant, most probably, that its roots are too deeply convoluted and intertwined in a single woof with other theories. Beginning on the level of definition, Bennet writes that, Cultural Studies has been defined as an interdisciplinary endeavour concerned with the analysis of cultural forms and activities in the context of the relations of power which condition their production, circulation, deployment and, of course, effects (60). Cultural criticism, in essence, has more to do with literature and its subtle projections of society. Also, the complexity and flexibility of this framework accords the opportunity to glide from one theory of relevance to another without exactly straying away totally, since cultural criticism has established relationships with a myriad of other theoretical frameworks. It is for this reason that Jarvis purports: In addition to appearing in a variety of subject areas, cultural studies is also associated with a wide range of critical theories that includes Marxism and feminism, postcolonialism and psychoanalysis, structuralism and

Animals play a significant role in our existence, they involve in food chain and help in the sustainability of bio diversity. Unfortunately they entered the scientific field through the experiments of new drugs. The utilization of creatures in exploratory investigations in the UK can be followed back at any rate similarly as the seventeenth Century with Harvey s analyses on various creature species intending to show blood flow. Crosswise over Europe, the utilization of creatures in experimental examination started to grow over the nineteenth Century, to some degree upheld by the improvement of analgesics which had already made creature research incomprehensible. In 1876, parliament passed the Cruelty to Animals Act, the principal enactment went for directing creature tests. Over the late nineteenth and the twentieth hundreds of years, the extension of restorative science implied that the quantities of creatures utilized as a part of examination extended relentlessly, quickened by the Medicines Act, 1968, which gave a clearer manual for the utilization of creatures in wellbeing testing in the wake of the Thalidomide catastrophe. While AP classes are suitable for some students, more highly advanced students find themselves bored; this is why schools decided to offer honors classes. While these classes are a better substitute than the option of having nothing for the more advanced students, schools should design programs for each individual student, providing them with the necessary tools and knowledge to progress through high schooland college, leaving them well equipped for the journey of life. Once students graduate elementary and middle school, high school should not look impossible to finish, as it appears to many pupils. For the more academically advanced students, a larger variety of honors classes should be offered. However, the recognition of student s hard work and dutiful labor often falls between the cracks when it comes to getting into a college, and what colleges look for and at. The bulk of academies look for a potential student s GPA (grade point average), SAT and ACT scores, the application essay, and extracurricular activities. The GPA is essentially the sum total of a person s grades. Thus, most colleges do not look at specific grades for specific classes. As
