Describe The 6 Steps In The Fetch-Execute Cycle Case Study
Software Questions
Describe the 6 steps in the Fetch Execute Cycle
Fetch instruction
Decode instruction and Fetch Operations
Perform ALU operations
Access memory
Write back result to register file
Update the PC
The image below is a simplified view of a CPU. Define and describe each part and the role it plays
in the CPU
PC: The Program Counter (PC) holds the address of the current instruction being executed or
decoded.
IR: The Instruction Register (IR) is the part of the CPU s control unit that holds the instruction
currently being executed or decoded.
Control Unit: The Control Unit controls the fetching of instructions from the main memory and the
subsequent execution of these instructions.
ALU: The Arithmetic Logic Unit (ALU) carries out arithmetic operations on integer (whole
number) and real (with decimal point) operands. At the end of each ALU operation, the status
output signals are usually stored in external registers to make them available for future ALU
operations.
Register X and Y: The CPU register is one of a small set of data storing places that are part of the
computer processor. They may hold any kind of data, storage address or instruction.
The CPU contains 3 busses: The control bus, the address bus and the data bus.
What is a bus?
In computer design, a bus is a communication system that transfers information between
components inside a computer, or amongst computers. This expression covers all related hardware
parts and software, including

Persuasive Essay On The Banshee
Banshee Cinemax, 1st April Sky Atlantic, Summer
Last year s finale left our two main protagonists in rather different circumstances. Hood had already
been hit hard by Siobhan death, but although his team took both Chayton and Stowe he arguably
lost more than he gained after Gordon died in the shootout and Job was snatched from under their
noses. Whereas Proctor finally wrestles back control of his business after Rebecca s persistent
meddling, skilfully bringing his family unit even closer despite the damage done, and brokering a
new deal with Hector and the Salvadorians. This final season promises jaw dropping twists, a
stellar guest cast (including Eliza Dushku) and of course all the best choreographed fight scenes
and breathtaking stunts you can handle including a mind blowing kick ass action sequence filmed
in the Banshee ravine during the closing days of filming and Greg ... Show more content on

With confirmation that the highly anticipated The Winds of Winter will now not be published until

The question of most people s lips has been the fate of Jon Snow after his fellow Watchmen

another, or was that the last we ll see of the brooding young Commander of the Night s Watch?
His is not the only character whose outcome is eagerly awaited however. Cersei s trial in King s

The Art Of Racing In The Rain Rhetorical Analysis
The Art of Racing in the Tears
The Art of Racing in the Rain is a novel written in the point of view of an intelligent dog named
Enzo. The unique point of view of this novel is what makes it so entertaining and easy to read.
Specific scenes that show how Enzo transcends scenes include the zebra scene. Another is when
Enzo kills the squirrel. The last is Enzo s dying scene. In the Art of Racing in the Rain, Garth Stein
manipulates his style by writing through the unusual point of view of a dog named Enzo, which
transcends an ordinary scene into an extraordinary scene, by using specific syntax, diction, and the
unique point of view of Enzo.
As Enzo was left to starve and hallucinate he encountered the evil zebra.
The now living zebra said nothing to me at all, but when it saw me it began to dance, a twisting,
jerky ballet which, culminated with the zebra repeatedly thrusting its gelded groin into the face of
an innocent Barbie doll. That made me quite angry, and I growled at the molester zebra, but it
simply smiled and continue its assault, this time picking on a stuffed frog, which it mounted from
behind and rode bareback it s hoof in the air like a bronco rider, yelling out
Yee haw! Yee haw! (53).
In this passage Enzo witnesses a horrific sight, but if told by through a different point of view, the
scene would seem very different. In reality Enzo was seeing illusions but what was really
happening was Enzo tearing up a little girl s stuffed animal. Because this scene was told through the
point of view of Enzo the scene really enticed the reader and pulled in their attention. Stein used
word choice such as molester zebra and gelded groin to simulate a nightmarish scene. Stein also
writes his sentences in a way that makes the audience read in a rapid yet fearful way by using
syntax. Examples of this are the excessive use of commas and short/easy pronounceable words.
The now living zebra said nothing to me at all....into the face of an innocent Barbie doll . Because
of Enzo s genuine fear and anxiety, this scene is transformed into an exciting, fearful scene because
it is told through the point of view of Enzo.
Another scene where the perspective Enzo provides changes a scene is when he kills the

Peter Singer Is Wrong
Thesis: Singer is wrong, I do not have a moral obligation to donate to global poverty relief.
Explanation: Peter Singer s argument about global poverty can be broken down into three
distinct steps. The first is easily accepted. Nearly everyone can agree that starvation, lack of
shelter and a scarcity of medical care is a bad thing. His next is also frequently acknowledged. If
we are able to donate without sacrificing anything morally significant we morally ought to do so.
However, it s Singer s third ideal where he loses most people, including myself. In his third
premise he states that by donating to aid agencies, we can prevent suffering from lack of food,
shelter and medical care without sacrificing anything morally significant. But that arises the
question. What is considered morally significant? Moral significance varies from one person to
another making it nearly impossible to determine a universal constant everyone can follow. Along
with that, this premise speaks entirely towards a financial donation of giving money to aid
agencies. This again raises speculation and concern as to how much money is morally significant to
give away from one person to another.
Argument: My biggest concern with Singer s premise of having a moral obligation ... Show more

Now I don t disagree with this statement. I too think that poverty should be dealt with on an even
playing field. But the fact of the matter is that it is not. The United States, along with other wealthy
nations does not receive funds at the same rate as other nations. Poverty stricken countries in Africa
are the most common territories to receive aid. Therefore, this argument becomes insignificant. If
we are to be treating poverty on the global scale, each person dealing with poverty should be
granted, not just the extremely poor

The Economic Factors And Aspects Of The French Industrial...
The Industrial Revolution in France occurred after the other revolutions throughout Europe;
however, they experienced an increase of the pace of their industrialism despite not exactly
developing as quickly as other countries in Europe. The competition from the other industries seen
in foreign areas caused the revolution in France. Unfortunately, many people with specialized,
artisanal skills had to give up their trade. The largest shift of this nature was those who spun cotton
and wool had to give their consumers and production over to the developing textile industry. The
cottage industries, those jobs completed from one s home, in France became extremely difficult
for citizens. Those who worked in those industries could not find jobs that paid enough for
survival. Degradation of the family economy gave rise to cultural shifts in the working class as
families had less control over their lives. Many men were forced to make more money by traveling
with the construction industry to build methods for transportation like railways and canals. Their
industrial revolutionalso spawned the creation of poor and middle class as well as recurring and
violent labor strikes. The living conditions of workers in France spiraled as wages decreased and
starvation became commonplace. Production, factories, and workers became more expensive as
the skill needed to perform jobs decrease. Despite all the negative aspects of the French industrial
revolution, France was also a capital for

What This Cruel War Was Over Analysis
The Civil War caused a shift in the ways that many Americans thought about slavery and race.
Chandra Manning s What this Cruel War Was Over helps readers understand how soldiers viewed
slavery during the Civil War. The book is a narrative, which follows the life of Union soldier who
is from Massachusetts. Chandra Manning used letters, diaries and regimental newspapers to gain an
understanding of soldiers views of slavery. The main character, Charles Brewster has never
encountered slaves. However, he believes that Negroes are inferior. He does not meet slaves
until he enters the war in the southern states of Maryland and Virginia. Charles Brewster views
the slaves first as contraband. He believes the slaves are a burden and should be sent back to
their owners because of the fugitive slave laws. Union soldiers focus shifted before the end of
the war. They believed slavery was cruel and inhumane, expressing strong desire to liberate the
slaves. As the war progresses, soldiers view slaves and slavery in a different light. This paper, by
referring to the themes and characters presented in Chandra Manning s What this Cruel War Was
Over, analyzes how the issue of slavery and race shifted in the eyes of white Union soldiers during
Civil War times.
Civil War The Civil War occurred between 1861 and 1865. Soldiers from the Union and
Confederacy disagreed on the purpose of the war. Southerners believed that slavery was the primary
cause of the war. Union soldiers were attempting to

Compare And Contrast Early Birds And Night Owls
I am an early bird give me a job:
Well it is very essential that all of us drive out a balance between our biological clock and the
ticking clock, that decides our day to day activities. However, before this, we first need to identify
our biological clock.
There are too many comparisons made between early birds and night owls. You may find some,
that advocate for early birds; while, some say night owls are blessed with additional talents.
However, I believe that both these sections of people, belonging to different chronotype, possess
different potentialities. However, when they are working at their peak hours where they can remain
completely alert and energetic; only then they can perform at highest efficiency levels.

An Analysis of Robert Frost s Once by the Pacific Essay
An Analysis of Robert Frost s Once by the Pacific
Most readers are familiar with the poetry of Robert Frost, but they may not be familiar with his
poem Once by the Pacific. This poem stands out from most of his popular poems, which frequently
relate to rural New England life. Many critics have thus commented that his works are too simple.
Once by the Pacific, however, seems to challenge this opinion, as it is one of Frost s more difficult
poems to interpret.
Although this poem also is connected with nature, the theme is more universal in that it could be
related to Armageddon, or the end of the world. Even though this theme may seem simple, it is
really complex because we do not know how Frost could possibly ... Show more content on

Furthermore, God promised in Genesis 9:15 that never again will the waters become a flood to
destroy all life. It seems that Frost portrays nature as having its own plan, as he writes with nature
in the active voice. Also, why does Frost speak of this in the past tense? Perhaps Frost was
thinking back to the Great Flood and painting a picture of someone by the shore before the waters
started to rise. Thus, the age Frost writes about could be interpreted as the pre Noah days on earth.
Perhaps Frost is not implying that the earth was or will be destroyed by flood, even though it
seems water is the destructive element. Frost could simply be creating a mood or atmosphere as
a setting before the destruction to come. The low and hairy clouds create a gloomy feeling that
Frost later describes as a night of dark intent. The intense images and confusing tense can fool the
reader into thinking that this event has already taken place. A close examination of the tense and
words reveal that the event has not occurred, but the strong images create a feeling of certainty
that the end is beginning. Frost brings this intensity to a climax with the line someone had better
be prepared for rage. Also, Frost speaks of an event much more powerful than flood with the last
two lines, There would be more than ocean water broken / Before God s last Put out the Light was

Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragettes
Separating Right and Wrong: Emmeline Pankhurst s Suffragette Movement
Women s suffrage has been one of the unsolved problems of the last two centuries. Today, many
countries constitutionalized women s right to vote; however there remain a few that outlaw it. This
ban resulted in women fighting for the right to vote in the 19th century, which gave birth suffrage
movements. While the suffragettes were emerging from all around the world, The United Kingdom
was the heart of the movement, with Emmeline Pankhurst as one of the main figures and she played
a crucial role in women s suffrage in Britain; however her work has been criticized and argued by
historians for their militant tactics and their effectiveness. To this date, it remains arguable... Show

Other women all around the world began protesting under the name of Suffragettes and the
movement quickly became epidemic. While there were many approaches in history for the same
purpose, United States, Ireland, Canada and many more women around the world adopted the
methods of the suffragettes to their own cause. The reason why the British suffragettes influenced
so many other women is explained in a research paper by Laura E. Nym Mayhall as ...Once the
Liberal government introduced forcible feeding as an antidote to the suffragette hunger strike,
militants created a visual activism, dependent upon the exhibition of women s tortured bodies as
spectacle. By this account, the activities of the WSPU became exemplary of what critic Barbara
Green has called performative activism and visibility politics in early twentieth century feminist
praxis, creating almost entirely feminine communities where women celebrated, suffered, spoke
with, and wrote for other women, and that allowed women to put themselves on display for other
women. Many women in the 19th century looked up to Emmeline Pankhurst, listened to her
speeches, went to her propaganda walks and adopted her methods and women in Britain gained the
right to vote in 1928, for men and women over 21, without any other requests of marital status or
property, as other countries followed

Power Bases Kim Jong Il
Power Bases
Coercive Power: Kim Jong Il
A coercive leader leads through fear and intimidation. The key fundamental in this leadership
style is making your followers aware that their failure will ultimately cause some form of
punishment. This can take many forms and has been demonstrated on many scales through
history. Your boss at work that punishes you with extra work should you fail to succeed at a task is
one example. I believe the most coercive leader in our world today is Kim Jong Il. Kim Jong Il has
been the Supreme Commander of North Korea since 1997. His leadership style was shaped through
a strict military background. His beliefs in himself are somewhat vain to most, but the people of
North Korea will literally ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The population accepts him as a member of their family because of the fear he instilled in past
generations. I dare say he went so far with his coercive style that he no longer even needs to be
that way. The people were forced for so long to accept him as their leader and supreme
commander that they no longer have any other thought in their head. He has totally blocked all
internet and media transmissions into North Korea. No news gets in and you can guarantee that
very little gets out. Outsiders are not welcome to visit North Korea unless they are escorted by
officials of the Government everywhere they go. While his coercive style may have shaped his
rule in North Korea it has in some form shifted into a more Legitimate Power. While generations
past may have feared Kim Jong Il the population of North Korea today loves him as their leader.
Where some societies look to religion to fill their spiritual needs, North Koreans look to Kim
Jong Il for the same satisfaction. While he may have had no right to rule in the beginning and
his coercive style solidified his position he is certainly showing Legitimate Power in today s
world. It will be a terrible loss for the people of North Korea when they lose Kim, but at the same
time it may be the best thing that ever happened to them. While their minds are warped from years
of coercive abuse they now accept that Kim Jong Il has the right, by virtue of position, to make
demands and expect

usually flavored with vanilla pod or natural vanilla extract, but it can be aromatized with chocolate,
liqueurs, nuts or spices.
CrГЁme Anglaise
Yield: 350 g
Milk 250 g
Sugar 75 g
Egg yolks 80 g
Vanilla pod
Put milk, half of sugar and split vanilla pod in a saucepan and put on a stove.
Blanch egg yolks and rest of the sugar.
When milk and sugar is hot, around 80В°C, pour some of the hot liquid over egg yolks and stir
well. This procedure is called tempering.
Pour the milk and yolk mixture to the pan and put it all back on stove. Cook stirring constantly until
cream reaches 84В°C. You can use thermometer to determine the temperature or you can make a
test with a wooden spoon. When you coat the back of a spoon and go with your finger along. If the
cream doesn t run through the line, it has right consistency. It should be a little bit thicker than milk
and it shouldn t contain any visible specs.
Be careful not to overcook the cream because the yolks will curdle and you will not be able to fix
that.
When it is done, strain through a sieve and cool.

The United States of America is large user of fossil fuels, such as petroleum, coal, and other fuels

Renewable energy sources are good for the environment but some people frown upon the idea of
having renewable energy sources. They are more expensive than fossil fuels and nonrenewable

nonrenewable resources. Renewable energy sources are cheaper because of the energy source

Dracula is the infamous vampire, that readers were п¬Ѓrst introduced to by Irish author Bram

Dracula, a mysterious being that is half man, half vampire that sucks blood from the neck of his

has been a prototype for various movie releases over the decades, such as Nosferatu, Horror of

Child Labor Is Not An Effective Way For India
In today s society, as Americans we don t realize the toys and clothes we buy at the store are all
being created by children who were forced to put themselves in that position in order for us to
receive our goods. All around the world, child labor is one of the most widely social issues
affecting the younger population, specifically, in India. For the children of India, work becomes a
nightmare based on suffering and mistreatment. While children have no choice but to be
independent and forced to work, it can be a big influence on the child s education, life, health,
and development. Where child labor is deeply rooted from tradition, the causes of child labor are
difficult and complex beliefs and views of economic, social, and cultural matters that make it
challenging for the welfare of the children to progress, but child labor is not an effective way for
India and it s people to develop and grow as a stable country.
The influence of child labor has reached numerous problems and has become a vast concern in
several countries but more importantly in India. India becomes a grounding place of poverty, scarce
jobs, and unbearable conditions. Where poverty turned out to be the number one factor in which
child labor increased, it is also caused by a long term effect of instability and a lack of growth
stemming from various reasons such as low income from jobs, agriculture, and social order. The
basis of child labor stems from the hardships their parents had to undergo and

Tsunamis And Natural Disasters
Natural disasters occur all around our world .There are a variety of natural disasters , but
Tsunamis are the most interesting. Tsunamis are interesting because they are lethal , occur in many

tsunami can lead to deadly diseases .The diseases that can be caused by a tsunami are cholera ,
Typhoid fever , skin diseases , Malaria fever , and Dengue fever. The disease that is spread
usually depends where the natural disaster occurred . The most dangerous disease that can be
caught is Malaria fever . Malaria is one of the top 10 deadliest diseases in the world .Malaria is a

Humanitarian Intervention Essay
The key objections to humanitarian intervention include the conflict of interests with the self
interested state and sovereignty, the difficulty of internal legitimacy, the problematical
Responsibility to Protect (R2P) doctrine, and the debate over legality of intervention. The issue of
morality stands as an overarching issue which touches on all of these. Overall, one finds that despite
a moral imperative to intervene, humanitarian interventionshould not occur but is perhaps the lesser
of a series of evils.
In realist theory, states are self interested in that their own relative gains are favoured over absolute
gains (i.e. gains for the entire society of states). This raises questions of motive and the potential for
abuse in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, it can be argued that the motives behind intervention are not as important as the
interventions themselves the moral function of humanitarian intervention is to save lives and this can
be achieved with or without altruistic motives. To this a possible reply is that seemingly unjust
intervention may aggravate the receiving state, more so perhaps in military interventions than
economic, political or social. A threatened state is arguably more likely to initiate a backlash.
However, such an argument cannot be made against a UN sanctioned intervention, where it can be
agreed that the intervention is legitimate and in the interests of the global community. The issue of
marginalising state sovereignty completely ignores the fact that sovereignty is granted by the
international community , . The arguments that states such as China may put forward, that state
sovereignty is absolute and deserving of unadulterated respect, rests on the idea that states grant
themselves sovereignty, which upon reflection, one finds to be untrue. State sovereignty can only
be realised if it is acknowledged by the global society of states. To this a realist might argue that
theoretical sovereignty is separate from actual sovereignty, and that states will defend their
sovereignty regardless of its

went over each question on the day 3 assessment using that sentence frame so I can see how
students were coming to their answers, which helped a lot because I was able to correct on the spot
any misconceptions they were having, which were the patterns mentioned previously and seen in
each student work sample. During the small group instruction, I also pre taught to them March 2nd

Paramedic Skills Essay
The paramedic profession is an extremely wide scoped integration of biological and clinical
understanding within the pre hospital care environment. Clinical skills in particular such as
effective communication, management, practical procedure and physical examination, are vital to
the operation of a paramedic(University of Otago Faculty of Medicine, 2013, pp. 2 4). A study
based in the UK with statements from over 700 medical experts determined that Clinical Skills
was the most desirable ability of the pre hospital care profession (Kilner, 2004). Despite the fact
that both biological and clinical understandings are equally significant and should not be weighed,
this study undisputedly highlights the importance of clinical skills. One of many clinical skills is
the Primary survey which is generally implemented as the very first procedure in patient cases. It

The DRABC primary survey stands for (in the following order): Danger, Response, Airway,
Breathing and Circulation. The process is very rarely reordered with an exception to
unconscious or cardiac arrest patients where the ABC becomes CAB to prioritise attention to
the heart (Queensland Ambulance Service, 2016). DRABC/CAB is applied to the paramedic
profession in countries all over the world which alone proves the success rate of the procedure.
However for the purpose of addressing the specific tailor ability of the primary survey, a
hypothetical scenario will be used. The scenario is as follows: c/t 28 y.o. male to seen to have
collapsed whilst spray painting cars at work. Already at this point, the primary survey has begun
and the Paramedic will consider the first component Danger. There are many dangerous factors
which may pose a risk to the p/t, paramedics or bystanders, such as the people, mechanisms/objects

Examples Of Microaggression In The Movie Crash
Abstract
This paper explores the 2004 Lions Gate film Crash and the microaggressions that occur to and
between the characters in the movie. The film follows the interweaving lives of several characters
living in Los Angeles as they deal with racism, discrimination, relationships, and loss. Throughout
the film, the characters also begin to come to terms with their own biases and prejudices. The
author of this paper includes the three major types of microaggressions displayed in the film:
microassault, microinsult, and microinvalidation, describes how they occurred, and the effect these
microaggressions had on the victims. Possible counseling implications for each microaggression for
both the perpetrator and the victim are discussed. Throughout this paper, the author s personal
feelings and thoughts related to the microaggressions, and possible implications (oppression and
discrimination) of the microaggressions both intentional and unintentional are explored.
Keywords: Crash, microaggression, microassault, microinsult, microinvalidation, counseling
implications, discrimination.
The Movie Crash Assignment In 2004, Lionsgate Films released the movie Crash to critical
acclaim. The film takes place in modern day Los Angeles and shines a light on the racial and social
tensions between groups of inter related characters (Haggis, 2004). The characters include a district
attorney (Brendan Fraser) and his prejudiced wife (Sandra Bullock), a Middle Eastern store owner
(Shaun Toub), and two inner city friends who make money by stealing and selling cars (Chris
Ludacris Bridges and Larenz Tate). Throughout the film, the various prejudices and
microaggressions of these characters are revealed as they interact and find their lives becoming
intertwined. According to Sue and Sue (2016) microaggressions are brief and commonplace daily
verbal or behavioral indignities that communicate hostile, derogatory, or negative racial slights and
insults that potentially have harmful or unpleasant psychological impact on the target person or
group. Microaggressions tend to be subtle, unintentional, and indirect, often occur in situations
where there are alternative explanations, and represent unconscious and conscious

Differences Between Newark And Washington s 7th...
Throughout all levels of American politics incumbents running for reelection have a huge and
systematic advantage over their challengers. In this paper, the incumbency advantage will be
examined through the lens of James Jim McDermott s continual reelection in Washington s 7th
Congressional District and Sharpe James, the longtime mayor of Newark. James incumbency
advantage is especially interesting in the context of 2002 mayoral campaign, where he was nearly
unseated by Cory Booker. Both McDermott and James served their constituents for over 30 years
and developed sizable incumbency advantages, though in some cases they were used in different
ways. Looking at the differences demographically between Newark and Washington s 7th
Congressional District can be striking, but if instead the incumbency advantage is considered, the
similarities are wide reaching and fascinating. In this paper, six major elements of incumbency
advantage will be looked at: name recognition, party advantage, redistricting, constituency service,
focus on candidates and special incumbent privileges.
Before comparing the incumbency advantage, the differences between Newark and Washington s
7th congressional district have to be examined. While the incumbency advantage is very similar in
each region, the physical and demographical difference couldn t be starker. First, and most
obviously, Sharpe James was running for mayoral position of Newark but Jim McDermott was
running for the United States House of

Vladimir Lenin As A Hero
Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen and fallen. A
hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet
they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary
man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin.
Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his
outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like Achilles, looked for
ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an aggressive man that had a certain set of
beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled
within his first term for participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies,
Lenin immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs writings, this
later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in many cases is similar to
Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22, Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog,
to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy,
and tells him this, He is more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48).

Since the open ended questions in the WTAP News questionnaire can have an infinite number of
answer, identifying similarities is the goal. Coding provides identification for specific themes in
the data. Individual responses will be listed then consolidated into exclusive numeric codes for
each specific category. Each code will illustrate each possible outcome by categorizing answers
through similarities. Data entry for closed ended questions will be simpler, because only three of
the questions were open ended. Most patterns can be realized through the closed ended questions.
Time can be saved and biased can be removed by analyzing each individual response and
categorizing them by identifying patterns and giving them codes. Open ended questions can be
coded and filtered to be analyzed as well through similarities. Coding is important, because results
can be more easily checked through subgroups than individual answers per respondent.
Once codes are set, the next step is to enter the numeric codes. Individual responses should be
consolidated into the numeric codes in order to make the results easier to analyze. The codes would
be entered into a computer and then analyzed by a data entry operator. Intelligent data entry is a
popular method used to analyze patterns. Skip patterns, invalid codes, or violations can be
identified through this process. Through this

Responsible For The Death Of Eric Garner
So, on the basis of the video evidence, it is quite clear that the New York police were responsible
for the death of Eric Garner; that they used excessive force relative to the magnitude of the
situation at hand; and that they failed to take Garner s own pleas with adequate seriousness. The
result was what, conceptually, could only be called a homicide. This is the conclusion that was
reached by an official medical examiner. The seriousness of the incident is clearly exacerbated by
the fact that on the basis of Garner saying that he could not breathe, the policeshould have known
that they were killing him.
The incident, then, was a clear instance of the broader problem of police brutality and how police
fail to use discretion with force.

The National Association For Music Education
Break Point 4.1
The National Association for Music Education has several general standards put into place (the
National Coalition for Core Arts Standards). These standards center around the theme of music
literacy and attempt to improve the three most important aspects of music learning: creating,
performing, and responding. These aspects are designed to be applied to a student s musical
performance as well as their conduct in the community. The standards are used throughout the
United States, introducing new topics throughout a child s preschool 8th grade education. They are
also provided in small strands throughout high schools. Teachers implement these techniques
through the teaching of theory, music history, collaboration, creating and performing throughout
their own individual curricula. They also have created Model Cornerstone Assessments, which are
designed to measure a student s academic achievement and performance within the Core Arts
Standards. As far as arts in the schools go, NAfME also has several organizations which help to
promote music in schools across America. I believe that having these national requirements is
extremely beneficial in that students across America will be learning similar concepts in the same
efficient manner, giving each individual student an opportunity to thrive as well as any other
fellow American student. I do think, though, that there should be ways for these codes can be more

Thomas Hobbes Despotism
After attending the press conference on January 18, 1783 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nine
political philosophers advocated their views on the best form of government. They have reached a
consensus. The most focal being Thomas Hobbes views on the relationship of the governed and the
authority, King Louis s stance on an absolute ruler, and William Laud s premise of religious
applications in government. Therefore, the best form of government is one of an absolute sovereign.
Thomas Hobbes promoted despotism in which the common man is, by all means, submissive to the
unquestionable decision maker. For instance, he claims that men are selfish in their natural state.
Hobbes emphasizes that The condition of man... is a condition of war of everyone against
everyone. This freedom spurs chaos and insecurity. This leads us to his Social Contract theory.
Hobbes argues that people should surrender their rights that limit another s to the governing body in
exchange for security. In other words, since men are inherently driven to act by their wants, a tacit
agreement between men and the monarch is made to shield them from their wickedness. Lastly,
Hobbes states that a division of power will cause internal conflict within government. To put it in
another way, there will always be debate in compromise. Therefore, the nation will ... Show more

out to be a fateful step on Singapore s way of being an international big city.
Last by not least, the finding of Singapore also can be seen as the remaining effect of 14th

China, India and Middle East, Melaka Strait s trades were greatly affected by those countries,
and Temasek, as a gateway of hinterland and a collection of various products, attracted most of

Over the first few units, an operation following the cumulative average curve will experience a

same slope. The unit curve should be used in situations where the firm is fully prepared for
production; and the cumulative average curve should be used in situations where the firm is not
completely ready for production. Most firms in the airframe industry use the cumulative average
curve. Most firms in other industries use the unit curve.

Mease offered an example with honey bees, in which he tried to explain the externality problem,
where in his opinion; the Coase Theorem does not provide a practical solution. When bees graze
on the flowers of various crops, neighbouring farmers benefit the beekeepers in that area.
However, when the farmers do not benefit themselves; they have a low incentive to grow nectar

contracts, there is no practical way of applying the Coase Theorem. Either the farmers must be
subsidized or the inefficiency of joint production of crops and honey must be accepted. (Meade,

Govt of India, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, set up a committee headed by a
senior technocrat from NABARD to study the rural poultry scenario with a view to include this
sector in the venture capitalfund of the department in the Tenth Five Year Plan. The study revealed
that Kuroiler farming in the traditional style was being extensively practiced in villages with

overpopulation and leading to the extinction of mankind (Kuo, 23). The purpose of Kuo s article is
to stress the fact that overpopulationhas been over looked as the source of many of the problems

growthwill lead to a mega crisis.
Kuo was spurred into writing this article by two events, the first was the publishing of an article

1.18 M M s Lab
Purpose: To practice direct and indirect measurement
Introduction: Do you think you could measure the average thickness of a sample of M Ms without
directly measuring selected M Ms? The answer is yes, and in this activity you will make direct and
indirect measurements of the thickness of M Ms. You will compare the results and evaluate the
reliability of each method of measurement. Be sure to view the tutorial on the proper use of the

An Interview With Dane Brewer
I had the opportunity to interview Dane Brewer, the former owner of a Utah local business called
Advantech. Dane now lives where I grew up in Moab, Utah. Moab, being a small town everyone is
pretty tight knit and that is how I had the opportunity to talk with Dane on the phone for this project.
Growing up my dad was always a busy business person. I remember ever since I was younger I
wanted to become a business owner just like him. He was a very helpful man with big dreams and
now that I am grown up I see myself in that man day to day.
This memo summarizes the extent knowledge Dane has in entrepreneurship as well as great advice
he provided for me.
Education
In interviewing Dane Brewer he informed me on his education. He graduated from the University
of Utah with a Bachelor s of Science of Electrical Engineering. This degree is not limited to
Electrical work. This degree is all about electricity to power to how to design computers. To
complete this degree Dane spent four years and one summer in school.
The first three years of college Dane worked for Utah Power and Light (Rocky Mountain
Power). While he was working for them he read about a scientist of the name Dr. Thomas
Stockum Jr. Stockum created the first audio recorded and Dane was extremely interested in this
because he loved music. When Dane was a senior he went to the company Stockum was running
and practically begged for a job as a janitor just to get his foot in the door. The

  • 5. The Art Of Racing In The Rain Rhetorical Analysis The Art of Racing in the Tears The Art of Racing in the Rain is a novel written in the point of view of an intelligent dog named Enzo. The unique point of view of this novel is what makes it so entertaining and easy to read. Specific scenes that show how Enzo transcends scenes include the zebra scene. Another is when Enzo kills the squirrel. The last is Enzo s dying scene. In the Art of Racing in the Rain, Garth Stein manipulates his style by writing through the unusual point of view of a dog named Enzo, which transcends an ordinary scene into an extraordinary scene, by using specific syntax, diction, and the unique point of view of Enzo. As Enzo was left to starve and hallucinate he encountered the evil zebra. The now living zebra said nothing to me at all, but when it saw me it began to dance, a twisting, jerky ballet which, culminated with the zebra repeatedly thrusting its gelded groin into the face of an innocent Barbie doll. That made me quite angry, and I growled at the molester zebra, but it simply smiled and continue its assault, this time picking on a stuffed frog, which it mounted from behind and rode bareback it s hoof in the air like a bronco rider, yelling out Yee haw! Yee haw! (53). In this passage Enzo witnesses a horrific sight, but if told by through a different point of view, the scene would seem very different. In reality Enzo was seeing illusions but what was really happening was Enzo tearing up a little girl s stuffed animal. Because this scene was told through the point of view of Enzo the scene really enticed the reader and pulled in their attention. Stein used word choice such as molester zebra and gelded groin to simulate a nightmarish scene. Stein also writes his sentences in a way that makes the audience read in a rapid yet fearful way by using syntax. Examples of this are the excessive use of commas and short/easy pronounceable words. The now living zebra said nothing to me at all....into the face of an innocent Barbie doll . Because of Enzo s genuine fear and anxiety, this scene is transformed into an exciting, fearful scene because it is told through the point of view of Enzo. • 6. Peter Singer Is Wrong Thesis: Singer is wrong, I do not have a moral obligation to donate to global poverty relief. Explanation: Peter Singer s argument about global poverty can be broken down into three distinct steps. The first is easily accepted. Nearly everyone can agree that starvation, lack of shelter and a scarcity of medical care is a bad thing. His next is also frequently acknowledged. If we are able to donate without sacrificing anything morally significant we morally ought to do so. However, it s Singer s third ideal where he loses most people, including myself. In his third premise he states that by donating to aid agencies, we can prevent suffering from lack of food, shelter and medical care without sacrificing anything morally significant. But that arises the question. What is considered morally significant? Moral significance varies from one person to another making it nearly impossible to determine a universal constant everyone can follow. Along with that, this premise speaks entirely towards a financial donation of giving money to aid agencies. This again raises speculation and concern as to how much money is morally significant to give away from one person to another. Argument: My biggest concern with Singer s premise of having a moral obligation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now I don t disagree with this statement. • 8. The Economic Factors And Aspects Of The French Industrial... The Industrial Revolution in France occurred after the other revolutions throughout Europe; however, they experienced an increase of the pace of their industrialism despite not exactly developing as quickly as other countries in Europe. The competition from the other industries seen in foreign areas caused the revolution in France. Unfortunately, many people with specialized, artisanal skills had to give up their trade. The largest shift of this nature was those who spun cotton and wool had to give their consumers and production over to the developing textile industry. The cottage industries, those jobs completed from one s home, in France became extremely difficult for citizens. Those who worked in those industries could not find jobs that paid enough for survival. Degradation of the family economy gave rise to cultural shifts in the working class as families had less control over their lives. Many men were forced to make more money by traveling with the construction industry to build methods for transportation like railways and canals. Their industrial revolutionalso spawned the creation of poor and middle class as well as recurring and violent labor strikes. The living conditions of workers in France spiraled as wages decreased and starvation became commonplace. He believes the slaves are a burden and should be sent back to their owners because of the fugitive slave laws. Union soldiers focus shifted before the end of the war. They believed slavery was cruel and inhumane, expressing strong desire to liberate the slaves. As the war progresses, soldiers view slaves and slavery in a different light. This paper, by referring to the themes and characters presented in Chandra Manning s What this Cruel War Was Over, analyzes how the issue of slavery and race shifted in the eyes of white Union soldiers during Civil War times. An Analysis of Robert Frost s Once by the Pacific Essay An Analysis of Robert Frost s Once by the Pacific Most readers are familiar with the poetry of Robert Frost, but they may not be familiar with his poem Once by the Pacific. This poem stands out from most of his popular poems, which frequently relate to rural New England life. Many critics have thus commented that his works are too simple. Once by the Pacific, however, seems to challenge this opinion, as it is one of Frost s more difficult poems to interpret. Although this poem also is connected with nature, the theme is more universal in that it could be related to Armageddon, or the end of the world. Furthermore, God promised in Genesis 9:15 that never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. It seems that Frost portrays nature as having its own plan, as he writes with nature in the active voice. Also, why does Frost speak of this in the past tense? Perhaps Frost was thinking back to the Great Flood and painting a picture of someone by the shore before the waters started to rise. Thus, the age Frost writes about could be interpreted as the pre Noah days on earth. Perhaps Frost is not implying that the earth was or will be destroyed by flood, even though it seems water is the destructive element. Frost could simply be creating a mood or atmosphere as a setting before the destruction to come. The low and hairy clouds create a gloomy feeling that Frost later describes as a night of dark intent. The intense images and confusing tense can fool the reader into thinking that this event has already taken place. A close examination of the tense and words reveal that the event has not occurred, but the strong images create a feeling of certainty that the end is beginning. Frost brings this intensity to a climax with the line someone had better be prepared for rage. This ban resulted in women fighting for the right to vote in the 19th century, which gave birth suffrage movements. While the suffragettes were emerging from all around the world, The United Kingdom was the heart of the movement, with Emmeline Pankhurst as one of the main figures and she played a crucial role in women s suffrage in Britain; however her work has been criticized and argued by historians for their militant tactics and their effectiveness. The reason why the British suffragettes influenced so many other women is explained in a research paper by Laura E. By this account, the activities of the WSPU became exemplary of what critic Barbara Green has called performative activism and visibility politics in early twentieth century feminist praxis, creating almost entirely feminine communities where women celebrated, suffered, spoke with, and wrote for other women, and that allowed women to put themselves on display for other women. Many women in the 19th century looked up to Emmeline Pankhurst, listened to her speeches, went to her propaganda walks and adopted her methods and women in Britain gained the right to vote in 1928, for men and women over 21, without any other requests of marital status or property, as other countries followed ... Overall, one finds that despite a moral imperative to intervene, humanitarian interventionshould not occur but is perhaps the lesser of a series of evils. A threatened state is arguably more likely to initiate a backlash. The issue of marginalising state sovereignty completely ignores the fact that sovereignty is granted by the international community , . In this paper, the incumbency advantage will be examined through the lens of James Jim McDermott s continual reelection in Washington s 7th Congressional District and Sharpe James, the longtime mayor of Newark. James incumbency advantage is especially interesting in the context of 2002 mayoral campaign, where he was nearly unseated by Cory Booker. Both McDermott and James served their constituents for over 30 years and developed sizable incumbency advantages, though in some cases they were used in different ways. Looking at the differences demographically between Newark and Washington s 7th Congressional District can be striking, but if instead the incumbency advantage is considered, the similarities are wide reaching and fascinating. In this paper, six major elements of incumbency advantage will be looked at: name recognition, party advantage, redistricting, constituency service, focus on candidates and special incumbent privileges. Before comparing the incumbency advantage, the differences between Newark and Washington s 7th congressional district have to be examined. While the incumbency advantage is very similar in each region, the physical and demographical difference couldn t be starker. • 26. Vladimir Lenin As A Hero Heroes come in many shapes and sizes, throughout time many of them have risen and fallen. A hero is characterized as someone that is a leader to his people, they reflect societal views, and yet they have a major flaw that often causes their downfall. During the 20th century a revolutionary man rose from his years of exile to lead the Bolshevik party into power, his name, Vladimir Lenin. Lenin stands as a prime example of a leader that reflects Russias social values, and as a flaw for his outspoken nature suffers from a near death assassination. Vladimir Lenin, like Achilles, looked for ways that benefited him in order to gain power, he was an aggressive man that had a certain set of beliefs that led to become a Marxist. Lenin enrolled in the Kazan University, only to be expelled within his first term for participating in a student demonstration. During his time from his studies, Lenin immersed himself in revolutionary politics, taking a large interest in Karl Marxs writings, this later played a large influence during his time of power. Lenin in many cases is similar to Achilles, a fictional warrior from the Iliad. In book 22, Priam compares Achilles to Orion s dog, to Greeks this is a bad omen. Priam then turns to his son, who stands outside the gates of Troy, and tells him this, He is more powerful by far than you, and pitiless (143, bk 22, lines 47 48). Since the open ended questions in the WTAP News questionnaire can have an infinite number of answer, identifying similarities is the goal. Coding provides identification for specific themes in the data. Individual responses will be listed then consolidated into exclusive numeric codes for each specific category. Each code will illustrate each possible outcome by categorizing answers through similarities. Data entry for closed ended questions will be simpler, because only three of the questions were open ended. Most patterns can be realized through the closed ended questions. Time can be saved and biased can be removed by analyzing each individual response and categorizing them by identifying patterns and giving them codes. Open ended questions can be coded and filtered to be analyzed as well through similarities. Coding is important, because results can be more easily checked through subgroups than individual answers per respondent. Once codes are set, the next step is to enter the numeric codes. Individual responses should be consolidated into the numeric codes in order to make the results easier to analyze. The codes would be entered into a computer and then analyzed by a data entry operator. Intelligent data entry is a popular method used to analyze patterns. Responsible For The Death Of Eric Garner So, on the basis of the video evidence, it is quite clear that the New York police were responsible for the death of Eric Garner; that they used excessive force relative to the magnitude of the situation at hand; and that they failed to take Garner s own pleas with adequate seriousness. The result was what, conceptually, could only be called a homicide. This is the conclusion that was reached by an official medical examiner. The seriousness of the incident is clearly exacerbated by the fact that on the basis of Garner saying that he could not breathe, the policeshould have known that they were killing him. • 32. The National Association For Music Education Break Point 4.1 The National Association for Music Education has several general standards put into place (the National Coalition for Core Arts Standards). These standards center around the theme of music literacy and attempt to improve the three most important aspects of music learning: creating, performing, and responding. These aspects are designed to be applied to a student s musical performance as well as their conduct in the community. The standards are used throughout the United States, introducing new topics throughout a child s preschool 8th grade education. They are also provided in small strands throughout high schools. Teachers implement these techniques through the teaching of theory, music history, collaboration, creating and performing throughout their own individual curricula. They also have created Model Cornerstone Assessments, which are designed to measure a student s academic achievement and performance within the Core Arts Standards. As far as arts in the schools go, NAfME also has several organizations which help to promote music in schools across America. I believe that having these national requirements is extremely beneficial in that students across America will be learning similar concepts in the same efficient manner, giving each individual student an opportunity to thrive as well as any other fellow American student. • 33. Thomas Hobbes Despotism After attending the press conference on January 18, 1783 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Nine political philosophers advocated their views on the best form of government. They have reached a consensus. The most focal being Thomas Hobbes views on the relationship of the governed and the authority, King Louis s stance on an absolute ruler, and William Laud s premise of religious applications in government. Therefore, the best form of government is one of an absolute sovereign. Thomas Hobbes promoted despotism in which the common man is, by all means, submissive to the unquestionable decision maker. For instance, he claims that men are selfish in their natural state. Hobbes emphasizes that The condition of man... is a condition of war of everyone against everyone. This freedom spurs chaos and insecurity. This leads us to his Social Contract theory. Hobbes argues that people should surrender their rights that limit another s to the governing body in exchange for security. In other words, since men are inherently driven to act by their wants, a tacit agreement between men and the monarch is made to shield them from their wickedness.
