Analysis Of The Movie ' The Ghost ' Of The Shell Trailer '
Since the beginning of media, producers have created products that applied to the biggest audience.
Unreliable political and current event information and bias leads to underrepresentation of various
ethnicities and identities. Mass media coverage portrays figures that appeals to the larger audience,
hence, isolating others.
The Ghost In The Shell trailer was released on Nov. 13 2016 and featured Scarlet Johansson – a
white actress. The film is based on the Japanese manga series of the same name. The protagonist,
Major Kusanagi is simply referred to as "The Major" and erases the identity of the main character.
"To justify the casting choice, screenwriter Max Landis stated: 'There are no A–list female Asian
celebrities right now on an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And although I wasn't sure if it was going to resonate with him, I took him anyway. When Diego
Luna's character came on screen and started speaking, my dad nudged me and said, "he has a heavy
accent." I was like, "Yup." When the film was over and we were walking to the car, he turns to me
and says, "did you notice that he had an accent?" And I said, "Yeah dad, just like yours." Then my
dad asked me if the film had made a lot of money. I told him it was the second highest grossing film
of 2016 despite it only being out for 18 days in 2016 (since new year just came around). He then
asked me if people liked the film, I told him that it had a huge following online and great reviews.
He then asked me why Diego Luna hadn't changed his accent and I told him that Diego has openly
talked about keeping his accent and how proud he is of it. And my dad was silent for a while and
then he said, "And he was a main character." And I said, "He was." And my dad was so happy. As
we drove home he started telling me about other Mexican actors that he thinks should be in movies
in America. Representation matters.[9]
Normalizing a diverse cast in film can often begin to gently lift the "minority" labels.
"From 2007–2012, only 12.4 percent of speaking characters in the top 500 grossing films were
played by black actors. Although one might think that is fair, given that African–Americans make up
12.6 percent of the population, the

Gay and Lesbian Visibility in Movies and Television
The 1990s saw surge of gay characters in both television and movies. From Ellen Degeneres and her
character Ellen Morgan coming out under much scrutiny on the TV show ‘Ellen,' to Julia Roberts
and Rupert Everett comedically playing off each other in the motion picture ‘My Best Friend's
Wedding.' Sure, gays and lesbians have been around forever, especially in Hollywood. But never has
there been a time to be more out. With the popularity of shows like Will and Grace, which feature
leading gay characters, as well as Dawson's Creek and it's supporting character of teenager Jack
McPhee, we are slowly seeing gay and lesbian characters creeping into the mainstream media. The

Ellen did open the door and raise the bar though. Party Of Five's Julia Sallinger kisses her female
writing instructor. The Will of NBC's new hit Will & Grace is a character that is not only gay, but
also masculine, personable and the roommate of a very attractive woman. The WB's Dawson's
Creek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer soon followed, making supporting characters gay and lesbian.
HBO's Sex & The City turned one of its core characters, staunch heterosexual Samantha Jones into a
swinging bisexual. The network also features OZ and Six Feet Under, both of which have gay
characters and storylines. Most recently, the now defunct show Once & Again, featured a story
where a teenage character begins a relationship with her best friend and shows the youngest lesbian
kiss on television so far. This was most surprising because the show aired on ABC, the company
owned by the usually conservative Disney Corportation. It's also rumored that gay characters are in
cartoons and children's shows. For instance, Tinky Winky, the purple, purse carrying Tellitubby. And
then there is the strange duo of Sesame Street's Burt and Ernie, Batman & Robin, Peppermint Patty
and ambiguous Marcy from the Peanuts Gang. Vanity Smurf and Hefty Smurf, created in the 80s

Influences of the Perceptions of the LGBT Community
Sexualization of Minor The world change day by day and we as a men, we keep improving and
enhance our knowledge. We will use different way of view to judge whether it is positive, negative,
ethical or unethical. In this society, we have a LGBT community which stand for Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual and Transgender. The unique of this community is they like person who are same sex with
them, in other word is homosexual. In the past, the acceptance toward same sex love or gay
marriage is very low but now the acceptance of the society toward this them is increase. Everyone
has their right to love someone they loved, the love they give to their partner is same as how we love
the one we loved. They having a 'gay' gene and environment and social factors influence, (Sarah K.,
2014). We should respect on the decision that they made for their current life and also their future.
We have no right on judging or controlling their life when they are being themselves. In these few
years, most of the people accept them especially for the Generation Y. Their acceptance is higher
than the Generation Y that is why Generation Y will comfort "with the whole gay thing", (Jonathan
D.L., 2013) Mass media is a medium that transmitted the message and send to a large number of
receivers. For some countries, they will use the hot issue which is LGBT community as one of their
marketing strategic and also a way to persue the audience to accept them. I will take the most

Shonda Rhimes Rise To Fame. Female Television And Film
Shonda Rhimes Rise to Fame
Female television and film producers have come a long way in this industry. It wasn't until recently
that female directors and producers have been known to create content under the category of
"intimate dramas." As such, content involving arm dealers, spies and super naturals have been
regarded as unfit categories for female directors and producers. In fact, female directors have made
"rom–coms", political, violent and traumatic films for years, but because they were made by
women, they were in a sense, disregarded or deemed as "unfit." Any film or television show
produced by, or directed by someone who was not Caucasian, or a male, was more often than not
"labeled arthouse and niche" (Bier par. 1). However, this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

2). And her power, as everyone has seen, did not come naturally – she had to learn it. In fact, she has
always strived to achieve the impossible. After graduating from Dartmouth, she read a New York
Times article that claimed, "getting into U.S.C. film school was harder than getting into Harvard
Law," (Paskin par. 9) which peaked her interest to try it out since it was "a really competitive thing
to do" (Paskin par. 9).
While working as a development assistant, Shonda sold a spec script known as Human Seeking
Same, which would later put her out there on the map even though it was never produced. As
discouraging as this could be, she continued her journey and was later hired to co–write HBO's
Introducing Dorothy Dandridge followed by stable work as a screenwriter. This included writing
scripts for Blossoms and Veils (1998), The princess Diaries 2 (2004) and Crossroads (2002). All
these brought her success but transitioned to TV since she thought there is more to screenwriting
than just "writing about teenage girls and their makeovers" (Weber par. 10). This decision saw her
create one of the greatest ABC TV show, Grey's Anatomy, which runs to date – at the end of the first
season; Grey's Anatomy had an audience of over twenty million. She has since then followed with
great series including Off the Map (canceled), Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder.

Genre Analysis Essay
Genre Analysis
The musical film has always held a special place for me. From my time as a drama student in high
school, my eyes have been opened to the amazing world of the musical and especially the musical
film. The musical film is a film genre in which the characters sing songs that are integrated into the
overall story. Since musicals first began in theaters, musical films usually contain similar elements.
These elements often simulate that there is a live audience watching. In a sense, the film viewers
become the audience members, at a theater production, as the actor performs directly to them. Due
to the popularity of musicals in the theater, the style was quickly brought over into film. In 1927, the
musical film genre began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The film was nominated for a number of awards, including a GLAAD Media Award for Best Picture
Musical/Comedy. They may seem quite different on the surface; however, the similarities they do
have in common are mainly due to the genre they share. This is shown by the use of music,
production design, and film techniques.
The use of music is a key to determining if a film is in the musical genre. Not only are songs used to
further the story along in a musical, but they also have the ability to put the audience in the
emotional state of the character singing. Song has always been used as a good conductor for
emotional understanding. For example, during the song "You Were Meant for Me" in Singin' in the
Rain, Don Lockwood is able to confess his love to Kathy Selden in a way that feels magical and
shows a connection between the two would be lovers. Also, the song "There Are Worse Things I
Could Do" in Grease is able to betray the emotional depth of the character Rizzo's fear, shame, and
anger. At the time this film came out, topics such as teen pregnancy were not generally presented in
films. By having this character sing her issue, the audiences, who may have dismissed her outright
for her actions, are able to sympathize with her plight. Moreover, in Rent, the song "I'll Cover You"
by Angel and Collins allow the viewer to get caught up in this young couple's relationship without
having to worry or even consider that this is a gay couple.

History Of GLAAD
HISTORY
GLAAD was formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.[i] It was
founded in New York City in 1985 by Vito Russo, Jewelle Gomez and George Kolovakos.[ii]
GLAAD is a media monitoring agency that seeks to promote and protect issues affecting the
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.
The organization was originally founded in response to the New York Post's homophobic and
defamatory coverage of the AIDS epidemic, which was at its height in the 1980's. Initially,
AIDS was closely linked with gay men within the American psychology.[iii] The first time that
AIDS was detected in the United States was in 1981, when groups of men in New York and
Los Angeles were diagnosed with Kaposi's sarcoma and pneumocystis pneumonia.[iv] The
media had labeled it as a gay disease. Based upon the statistics compiled by the Center for
Disease Control, the AIDS virus disproportionately impacted gay men at a time when
Americans had an extremely negative attitude towards homosexuality. "[I]t was perhaps
inevitable that AIDS would be defined in political and cultural terms as well as medically, and
that many heterosexuals' reactions to AIDS would reflect their attitudes toward
homosexuality."[v]
Thus, the coverage of homosexuals was extremely sensationalized and a topic that was not
generally discussed as a societal norm within the mainstream media. Nonetheless, due to the
hard work of its pioneering members, GLAAD enjoyed several early

Argumentative Essay On Eminem
Eminem
Eminem is an iconic figure that millions of people recognize around the world for over decades
now. Not only for his music but the pure controversy that his music includes. Many people see him
as a politically incorrect artist who lacks awareness of his word choice which ultimately leads him to
controversy. Throughout my essay, I will give some insight into the life of Eminem, some examples
of his controversial lyrics, and the different points of view people have on him.
Eminem also knows as Marshall Mathers III was a young Caucasian boy raised in Kansas City. He
was part of a single–parent household which causes instability in his childhood. His mother was a
drug addict who gives birth to Marshall Mathers in her teenage years, and his father left him at a
very young age. He had to spend time in various locations and then finally he resided in Detroit.
Many people in his life said he was a very anti–social person who had immense difficulty making
friendship which also leads him to a child who cannot find his way out of trouble. He said he was
"not interested in school because all he wanted to do was rap" which goes to show he was not a
good role model to immolate, Eminem didn't start his rap career until he was 14. At the beginning,
he wasn't seen as a rapper that people should be taken seriously, but over time he had to earn the
respect of his fans and critics. His rap music is often filled with anger and malicious behaviors
which also lead him to become a figure in the rap industry.
As Eminem grew as a rapper, he became the poster boy of controversy with "offensive language
towards women, homophobia towards gay, and crude language". He also a person with a criminal
record with multiple gun charges. Even the President of the United States at the time George W.
Bush, describing him "the greatest threat to America's children since polio" which just goes to show
how much negative impact that Eminem had on the viewing public. In one of his most tendentious
songs of his career from the song "Kill You" he is noted as saying "You faggots keep egging me on
till I have you at knifepoint, then you beg me to stop? Shut Up!" These lyrics implies his insensitive
towards to the Gay community who were displeased

Individuals who identified as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgendered (LGBT) remained largely
silent and unseen in American culture until after the second World War. Prior to the World Wars,
many LGBT identifying Americans hid their sexual orientation out of fear and shame. Individuals
who identified as LGBT were never widely accepted and would always be discriminated against.
The Homosexual "lifestyle" was portrayed as a threat to American Society and was always thought

Bill which also affected them by not being able to find employment after their service to our
country. I think what they did here was really wrong because for someone who is serving our
country and fighting for our freedom to not be able to enjoy their own freedom and be discharged
just for their sexual orientation even without doing something wrong to actually receive a discharge
because they couldn 't even enjoy benefits of the G.I. Bill which gave them opportunities for low–
cost mortgages and opportunities to go back to school and receive an education or receive
unemployment compensation. The discharge was just bad for them also because people didn 't want
to hire them because they had been discharged from the Military. Love was torn down and
discriminated against just because it was love that was not a man and a woman. A love letter

Reflective Paper on Gay Marriage

Introduction to Ethics and Social Responsibility
Nadine Acevedo
January 28, 2013
Today many people have their own opinions and beliefs when it comes down to the topic of gay
marriage. I personally feel that gay marriage should be legalized. Yes God said, "That marriage is to
be between a man and a woman." My question is, "What gives people the right to judge or tell
another human–being who to love or how to love?" I personally feel it's insulting to one's integrity
and people should be able to express their love how they see fit. For centuries the United States has
been known for its civil rights and freedoms. Many Americans are angered by the idea of same–sex

Such as pedophilia and polygamy which are controversial subjects but not as much as gay marriage.
Even though comparing pedophilia and polygamy to gay marriage is a little much, people feel that
allowing gay marriage goes against their morals, their views on society, lives they want for their
children, and the future. For some violating same–sex couples civil right is worth it in the end only
because they want to protect the value of a man–woman type marriage. To deny gays and lesbians
the right to marry is in violation of their civil rights as a citizen of the United States of America.
Legalizing gay marriage is not to attack how one feels and how they view things, but so that those
can have a chance at equality also. Gay marriage is a very emotional topic and is going to be for
years to come. So many people feel that homosexuality is wrong and not normal and therefore
believe that homosexuals don't deserve the right to be married. People are going to debate on
whether gay marriage is "right or wrong", that's just the way it is. For most of it Christian groups
have been the "chief of state" when it boils down to same–sex marriage. Growing up in a Christian
faith home we were taught that God loves everyone. So answer this question, "Does that circle of
people not include gays or lesbians?" The Constitution gives our rights thanks to the founding
fathers of our country. As Americans is this country we have many rights such as freedom of speech,

Paris Is Burning Analysis
The film aimed to explore an underground queer space, the Harlem ball scene of the 1980s, in which
predominantly black and Latinx queer people caricatured gender by participating in elaborately
orchestrated drag competitions (Livingston). In Paris Is Burning, Livingston intersperses testimony
by scene members about their subversive performances and their lives with videos of the
performances of drag that take place within the scene. The documentary was praised for being
counter–hegemonic as its subject matter sat at the intersection of queerness, race, and class, which
had not been showcased in mainstream media prior to the movie's release. In 1992, the film was
awarded the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary, suggesting queer approval of
Livingston's efforts ("Paris Is Burning – Awards"). In addition to praise, however, Livingston was
criticized for her voyeuristic exploitation of this particular queer space, in which she was an
outsider, demonstrated in the production of her film. Since the release of Paris Is Burning, many
have come, credulously, to believe that both queer rights and queer representation in media have
evolved in favor of queer individuals: same–sex marriage became the lay of the land in 2015, Don't
Ask Don't Tell was repealed nearly seven years ago, and trans people are now able to serve openly
in the military ("LGBT"). Further, non–queer people claiming "wokeness" are becoming vested in
queer issues, bringing them to the forefront of mass

Gay Media and The Effects it Has on Heterosexuals' Attitudes Towards LGBTQ
Twenty years ago, 42 million viewers watched the sitcom Ellen, featuring Ellen DeGeneres, and the
now famous Puppy episode. That night Ellen had admitted to the world that she was gay. The
backlash to her coming out was vicious, boycotts and protests towards the sitcom seemed
neverending and when the ABC network made the decision to renew the show for another season,
they went to the extent of putting a "parental advisory" warning at the beginning of each episode.
Shortly after, it was cancelled for being criticised as "too gay." Fast forward 20 years later, Ellen
DeGeneres was given the Medal of Freedom by former President of the United States, Barack
Obama who said, "It's easy to forget now just how much courage was required for Ellen to come out

the two openly gay characters named Will and Jack were rarely shown being physically affectionate
with other men. However, the lead female character Grace, who is heterosexual, has often been
shown in sexual situations with men. Will and Grace has been criticized forcing heterosexual norms

Abstract In today 's dynamic entertainment environment, movies are struggling to stay afloat and
remain profitable. Challenges such as piracy, digital theft, competition, overlapping movie
campaigns, media fragmentation, and audience saturation are forcing marketers to stretch their film
budgets and make every dollar as effective as possible. With more and more entertainment options
crowding peoples ' lives, marketers must search for innovative ways to reach ... Show more content

According to Gnoffo (2005), by the end of 2004, Forrester Research estimated there were TiVos and
other DVRs in 6.5 million US households, up from 1.9 million in 2002. That number, the firm
claims, will climb to almost 50 million by 2009, representing 41% of all US households. On another
front, the popularity of Netflix, an online subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted
both Blockbuster and Wal–Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an
unlimited time for a monthly fee. While it 's true that DVDs may be a cash cow for studios, theaters
suffer when patrons skip the cinema experience and wait for those releases at home. Needless to say,
given the increase in entertainment options, the movie–going experience needs to be far more
compelling to draw in audience members. Moreover, this challenge is not likely to subside, but
rather grow more compelling: as discussed by Charny (2005), a recent study by Informa Research
Services indicates that 125 million people – about 5% of all cell phone owners – will be watching
television on their handsets by 2010. In addition, the Digital Lifestyles 2006 Outlook from Parks
Associates (Scherf, 2006) estimates that US consumer spending for online entertainment, including
on–demand gaming, music, and video services, will grow by

  • 3. Analysis Of The Movie ' The Ghost ' Of The Shell Trailer ' Since the beginning of media, producers have created products that applied to the biggest audience. Unreliable political and current event information and bias leads to underrepresentation of various ethnicities and identities. Mass media coverage portrays figures that appeals to the larger audience, hence, isolating others. The Ghost In The Shell trailer was released on Nov. 13 2016 and featured Scarlet Johansson – a white actress. The film is based on the Japanese manga series of the same name. The protagonist, Major Kusanagi is simply referred to as "The Major" and erases the identity of the main character. And although I wasn't sure if it was going to resonate with him, I took him anyway. When Diego Luna's character came on screen and started speaking, my dad nudged me and said, "he has a heavy accent." I was like, "Yup." When the film was over and we were walking to the car, he turns to me and says, "did you notice that he had an accent?" And I said, "Yeah dad, just like yours." Then my dad asked me if the film had made a lot of money. I told him it was the second highest grossing film of 2016 despite it only being out for 18 days in 2016 (since new year just came around). He then asked me if people liked the film, I told him that it had a huge following online and great reviews. He then asked me why Diego Luna hadn't changed his accent and I told him that Diego has openly talked about keeping his accent and how proud he is of it. And my dad was silent for a while and then he said, "And he was a main character." And I said, "He was." And my dad was so happy. As we drove home he started telling me about other Mexican actors that he thinks should be in movies in America. Representation matters.[9] Normalizing a diverse cast in film can often begin to gently lift the "minority" labels. "From 2007–2012, only 12.4 percent of speaking characters in the top 500 grossing films were played by black actors. Although one might think that is fair, given that African–Americans make up 12.6 percent of the population, the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Gay and Lesbian Visibility in Movies and Television The 1990s saw surge of gay characters in both television and movies. From Ellen Degeneres and her character Ellen Morgan coming out under much scrutiny on the TV show ‘Ellen,' to Julia Roberts and Rupert Everett comedically playing off each other in the motion picture ‘My Best Friend's Wedding.' Sure, gays and lesbians have been around forever, especially in Hollywood. But never has there been a time to be more out. With the popularity of shows like Will and Grace, which feature leading gay characters, as well as Dawson's Creek and it's supporting character of teenager Jack McPhee, we are slowly seeing gay and lesbian characters creeping into the mainstream media. The Will of NBC's new hit Will & Grace is a character that is not only gay, but also masculine, personable and the roommate of a very attractive woman. The WB's Dawson's Creek and Buffy the Vampire Slayer soon followed, making supporting characters gay and lesbian. HBO's Sex & The City turned one of its core characters, staunch heterosexual Samantha Jones into a swinging bisexual. The network also features OZ and Six Feet Under, both of which have gay characters and storylines. Most recently, the now defunct show Once & Again, featured a story where a teenage character begins a relationship with her best friend and shows the youngest lesbian kiss on television so far. This was most surprising because the show aired on ABC, the company owned by the usually conservative Disney Corportation. It's also rumored that gay characters are in cartoons and children's shows. For instance, Tinky Winky, the purple, purse carrying Tellitubby. We will use different way of view to judge whether it is positive, negative, ethical or unethical. In this society, we have a LGBT community which stand for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender. The unique of this community is they like person who are same sex with them, in other word is homosexual. In the past, the acceptance toward same sex love or gay marriage is very low but now the acceptance of the society toward this them is increase. Everyone has their right to love someone they loved, the love they give to their partner is same as how we love the one we loved. They having a 'gay' gene and environment and social factors influence, (Sarah K., 2014). We should respect on the decision that they made for their current life and also their future. We have no right on judging or controlling their life when they are being themselves. In these few years, most of the people accept them especially for the Generation Y. Their acceptance is higher than the Generation Y that is why Generation Y will comfort "with the whole gay thing", (Jonathan D.L., 2013) Mass media is a medium that transmitted the message and send to a large number of receivers. • 13. Shonda Rhimes Rise To Fame. Female Television And Film Shonda Rhimes Rise to Fame Female television and film producers have come a long way in this industry. It wasn't until recently that female directors and producers have been known to create content under the category of "intimate dramas." As such, content involving arm dealers, spies and super naturals have been regarded as unfit categories for female directors and producers. In fact, female directors have made "rom–coms", political, violent and traumatic films for years, but because they were made by women, they were in a sense, disregarded or deemed as "unfit." Any film or television show produced by, or directed by someone who was not Caucasian, or a male, was more often than not "labeled arthouse and niche" (Bier par. 1). However, this ... After graduating from Dartmouth, she read a New York Times article that claimed, "getting into U.S.C. film school was harder than getting into Harvard Law," (Paskin par. 9) which peaked her interest to try it out since it was "a really competitive thing to do" (Paskin par. 9). While working as a development assistant, Shonda sold a spec script known as Human Seeking Same, which would later put her out there on the map even though it was never produced. As discouraging as this could be, she continued her journey and was later hired to co–write HBO's Introducing Dorothy Dandridge followed by stable work as a screenwriter. This included writing scripts for Blossoms and Veils (1998), The princess Diaries 2 (2004) and Crossroads (2002). All these brought her success but transitioned to TV since she thought there is more to screenwriting than just "writing about teenage girls and their makeovers" (Weber par. 10). This decision saw her create one of the greatest ABC TV show, Grey's Anatomy, which runs to date – at the end of the first season; Grey's Anatomy had an audience of over twenty million. She has since then followed with great series including Off the Map (canceled), Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder. • 15. Genre Analysis Essay Genre Analysis The musical film has always held a special place for me. From my time as a drama student in high school, my eyes have been opened to the amazing world of the musical and especially the musical film. The musical film is a film genre in which the characters sing songs that are integrated into the overall story. Since musicals first began in theaters, musical films usually contain similar elements. These elements often simulate that there is a live audience watching. In a sense, the film viewers become the audience members, at a theater production, as the actor performs directly to them. Due to the popularity of musicals in the theater, the style was quickly brought over into film. In 1927, the musical film genre began ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The film was nominated for a number of awards, including a GLAAD Media Award for Best Picture Musical/Comedy. They may seem quite different on the surface; however, the similarities they do have in common are mainly due to the genre they share. This is shown by the use of music, production design, and film techniques. The use of music is a key to determining if a film is in the musical genre. Not only are songs used to further the story along in a musical, but they also have the ability to put the audience in the emotional state of the character singing. Song has always been used as a good conductor for emotional understanding. For example, during the song "You Were Meant for Me" in Singin' in the Rain, Don Lockwood is able to confess his love to Kathy Selden in a way that feels magical and shows a connection between the two would be lovers. Also, the song "There Are Worse Things I Could Do" in Grease is able to betray the emotional depth of the character Rizzo's fear, shame, and anger. At the time this film came out, topics such as teen pregnancy were not generally presented in films. By having this character sing her issue, the audiences, who may have dismissed her outright for her actions, are able to sympathize with her plight. Moreover, in Rent, the song "I'll Cover You" by Angel and Collins allow the viewer to get caught up in this young couple's relationship without having to worry or even consider that this is a gay couple. ... • 21. History Of GLAAD HISTORY GLAAD was formerly known as the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation.[i] It was founded in New York City in 1985 by Vito Russo, Jewelle Gomez and George Kolovakos.[ii] GLAAD is a media monitoring agency that seeks to promote and protect issues affecting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community. The organization was originally founded in response to the New York Post's homophobic and defamatory coverage of the AIDS epidemic, which was at its height in the 1980's. Initially, AIDS was closely linked with gay men within the American psychology.[iii] The first time that AIDS was detected in the United States was in 1981, when groups of men in New York and Los Angeles were diagnosed with Kaposi's sarcoma and pneumocystis pneumonia.[iv] The media had labeled it as a gay disease. Based upon the statistics compiled by the Center for Disease Control, the AIDS virus disproportionately impacted gay men at a time when Americans had an extremely negative attitude towards homosexuality. "[I]t was perhaps inevitable that AIDS would be defined in political and cultural terms as well as medically, and that many heterosexuals' reactions to AIDS would reflect their attitudes toward homosexuality."[v] Thus, the coverage of homosexuals was extremely sensationalized and a topic that was not generally discussed as a societal norm within the mainstream media. • 24. Argumentative Essay On Eminem Eminem Eminem is an iconic figure that millions of people recognize around the world for over decades now. Not only for his music but the pure controversy that his music includes. Many people see him as a politically incorrect artist who lacks awareness of his word choice which ultimately leads him to controversy. Throughout my essay, I will give some insight into the life of Eminem, some examples of his controversial lyrics, and the different points of view people have on him. Eminem also knows as Marshall Mathers III was a young Caucasian boy raised in Kansas City. He was part of a single–parent household which causes instability in his childhood. His mother was a drug addict who gives birth to Marshall Mathers in her teenage years, and his father left him at a very young age. He had to spend time in various locations and then finally he resided in Detroit. Many people in his life said he was a very anti–social person who had immense difficulty making friendship which also leads him to a child who cannot find his way out of trouble. He said he was "not interested in school because all he wanted to do was rap" which goes to show he was not a good role model to immolate, Eminem didn't start his rap career until he was 14. At the beginning, he wasn't seen as a rapper that people should be taken seriously, but over time he had to earn the respect of his fans and critics. His rap music is often filled with anger and malicious behaviors which also lead him to become a figure in the rap industry. As Eminem grew as a rapper, he became the poster boy of controversy with "offensive language towards women, homophobia towards gay, and crude language". He also a person with a criminal record with multiple gun charges. Even the President of the United States at the time George W. Bush, describing him "the greatest threat to America's children since polio" which just goes to show how much negative impact that Eminem had on the viewing public. In one of his most tendentious songs of his career from the song "Kill You" he is noted as saying "You faggots keep egging me on till I have you at knifepoint, then you beg me to stop? Shut Up!" These lyrics implies his insensitive towards to the Gay community who were displeased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Prior to the World Wars, many LGBT identifying Americans hid their sexual orientation out of fear and shame. Individuals who identified as LGBT were never widely accepted and would always be discriminated against. Reflective Paper on Gay Marriage Two Suits or Two Dresses: It's Still Love Shaka Ammons Introduction to Ethics and Social Responsibility Nadine Acevedo January 28, 2013 Today many people have their own opinions and beliefs when it comes down to the topic of gay marriage. I personally feel that gay marriage should be legalized. Yes God said, "That marriage is to be between a man and a woman." My question is, "What gives people the right to judge or tell another human–being who to love or how to love?" I personally feel it's insulting to one's integrity and people should be able to express their love how they see fit. For centuries the United States has been known for its civil rights and freedoms. Such as pedophilia and polygamy which are controversial subjects but not as much as gay marriage. Even though comparing pedophilia and polygamy to gay marriage is a little much, people feel that allowing gay marriage goes against their morals, their views on society, lives they want for their children, and the future. For some violating same–sex couples civil right is worth it in the end only because they want to protect the value of a man–woman type marriage. To deny gays and lesbians the right to marry is in violation of their civil rights as a citizen of the United States of America. Legalizing gay marriage is not to attack how one feels and how they view things, but so that those can have a chance at equality also. Gay marriage is a very emotional topic and is going to be for years to come. So many people feel that homosexuality is wrong and not normal and therefore believe that homosexuals don't deserve the right to be married. People are going to debate on whether gay marriage is "right or wrong", that's just the way it is. For most of it Christian groups have been the "chief of state" when it boils down to same–sex marriage. Growing up in a Christian faith home we were taught that God loves everyone. • 30. Paris Is Burning Analysis The film aimed to explore an underground queer space, the Harlem ball scene of the 1980s, in which predominantly black and Latinx queer people caricatured gender by participating in elaborately orchestrated drag competitions (Livingston). In Paris Is Burning, Livingston intersperses testimony by scene members about their subversive performances and their lives with videos of the performances of drag that take place within the scene. The documentary was praised for being counter–hegemonic as its subject matter sat at the intersection of queerness, race, and class, which had not been showcased in mainstream media prior to the movie's release. In 1992, the film was awarded the GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Documentary, suggesting queer approval of Livingston's efforts ("Paris Is Burning – Awards"). In addition to praise, however, Livingston was criticized for her voyeuristic exploitation of this particular queer space, in which she was an outsider, demonstrated in the production of her film. Since the release of Paris Is Burning, many have come, credulously, to believe that both queer rights and queer representation in media have evolved in favor of queer individuals: same–sex marriage became the lay of the land in 2015, Don't Ask Don't Tell was repealed nearly seven years ago, and trans people are now able to serve openly in the military ("LGBT"). Further, non–queer people claiming "wokeness" are becoming vested in queer issues, bringing them to the forefront of mass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The backlash to her coming out was vicious, boycotts and protests towards the sitcom seemed neverending and when the ABC network made the decision to renew the show for another season, they went to the extent of putting a "parental advisory" warning at the beginning of each episode. On another front, the popularity of Netflix, an online subscription service boasting 3 million users, prompted both Blockbuster and Wal–Mart to offer similar services whereby people rent DVDs for an unlimited time for a monthly fee.
