The Impact Of Children In School Occupations
Occupational therapists in school based settings facilitate children with disabilities to participate in
school occupations. These occupations can range from playing with peers, to social interactions
with peers and teachers, to academic and non academic activities to activities of self maintenance,
and to interactions with the schoolenvironment (Chandler Clark, 2013). Nearly, thirteen percent
children in pubic schools receive special educationservices (National Center for Educational
Statistics, 2017). Approximately fifteen to eighty percent of children with various disabilities also
have sensory processing disorder (SPD) (Ahn, Miller, Milberger, McIntosh, 2004). SPD impairs
children s ability to detect, modulate, interpret, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Statement of the Problem
The current policies in education call for the provision of related services such as occupational
therapy (OT) in natural settings (Chandler Clark, 2013)(Individuals with Disabilities and Education
Act, 2004). As a result, service delivery models in public schools have shifted from pullout
interventions to providing services in a child s natural environment (Case Smith Holland, 2009;
Hong, 2014; Nochajski, 2002; Villeneuve Hutchinson, 2012). The sensory diet intervention is in
accord with the current educational policies and trends as the intervention is provided in a child s
natural settings. In addition, this intervention intends to improve the child s participation in school
activities by improving the child s ability to process and organize sensory stimuli and his/her
sensory arousal. Nearly twenty six percent occupational therapists work in school settings
(American Occupational Therapy Association, 2015) and ninety percent of them use interventions
based on the sensory integration (SI) theory to manage the manifestations of SPD in school settings
(Ahn et al., 2004). Although the sensory diet intervention is widely used in school based settings to
manage manifestations of sensory processing issues, very few studies have

Meaningless Relationships in T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land
Meaningless Relationships in T.S. Eliot s The Waste Land T.S. Eliot wrote The Waste Land in
reference to the state of Europe after World War I. The poem paints a bleak, hopeless view of the
state of human and political affairs. Eliot refers to London, which was previously prosperous and
progressive, as an Unreal City. The language of the poem is chaotic and fragmented. The setting of
the poem is sterile and barren producing nothing, not even children. Lust which is prevalent
throughout The Waste Landcauses destruction and confusion. Lines 230 through 256 characterize
the absence of passion in life. The Waste Land challenges the reader to re evaluate the value of
relationships by illustrating a world with empty and meaningless... Show more content on

This rhyme scheme creates a sing song property within the stanzas, which completely contradicts
the poems appalling content. The meticulously orchestrated sentence structure and slant rhyme
within the poem creates the pleasant, flowing sound of euphony. The flow of words, unobstructed
by harsh sounds, contradicts the vile nature of the stanzas. These poetic devices further illustrate the
indifferent attitude and nonchalant manner in which the people of Europe, post World War I
, wasted
their lives.
Class separation and focus on accumulating wealth is another means in which the people of The
Waste Land squander their time and attention. The female is a typist, which is not a particularly
lucrative profession. The typist has so little money that she does not even own a bed. The young
man works in real estate and clearly brings in more money than the female. The phrase silk hat on a
Bradford millionaire refers to the worthless accumulation of large wealth and the impractical
objects the wealthy spends their money on. The female within these stanzas is depicted in a
scrutinizing manner.
The typist has invited the young man over expected guest . The woman is bored and tired,
completely un amused by the young man. During her assault she is too complacent to react. When
he leaves she barely notices Hardly Aware of her departed lover; . She is goes through the motions

Elizabethan Fashion Essay
Elizabethan Fashion
The Elizabethan Era was a time that reflect the mood and values of the 16th century though the
use of fashion. It was a period in which a lot of originality and creativity was evident was used to
create new styles of dress (Black Garland 16). The Fashion in Elizabethan England at this time
reflected the values and Ideals of the era. It was an Era that based everything on the Great Chain
Of Being; which was a concept that everyone had a position in the social standings of society that
was given to him or her by God (Leed 1). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The foreign look was the look that society wanted to achieve during the Elizabethan era, for it
reflected the values of Queen Elizabeth, who happened to be the ideal women of the era. Things
that are not controllable sometimes have an influence on society that is not expected. One effect
that should have been expected was that Queen Elizabeth would have an impacted on the society
that she gave her name to. The one thing that wasn t expected however was the extent to which
Queen Elizabeth would influence fashion. Queen Elizabeth was passionate about fashion and
she spread her love for it through out the kingdom. One of Queen Elizabeth s talents was her
ability to use any situation to her political advantage (Boucher 17). She wanted to be seen as a
person with power and capability and she thought rich cloths would help obtain that opinion. The
rich fabrics and jewels displayed incredible wealth, power and prestige (Leed 1). Wealth and
power were not the only thing Queen Elizabeth achieved with her wardrobe. She had a great

Freedom In America Today
When martin Luther King Jr. proclaimed to the world that he had a dream, people stopped and
realized it didn t have to be just a dream. People didn t just listen to what this leader had to say,
they actually heard him, and they understood him. Society today reflects the hundreds of
peaceful, or sometimes not so peaceful, protests held by leaders of our past and present that were
heard and understood. Without peaceful protest to laws, segregation may still be in America.
Same sex marriage may not be legal. Women may not have as many rights as they do now.
Freedom today in America, for example, is different than freedom fifty years ago. Freedom today
includes all peoples instead of a select few. Resistance to laws brought this free society farther...

These protests were not large enough or dangerous enough to be heard. On the news these days
all that is seen is angry protesters. Angry about rights being taken away, angry about President
Trump, and angry about their freedoms being restricted, but not every protester is looking to
destroy cities. Peaceful marches and protests lead to a stronger society. They show that no matter
what the odds, somebody will be there for support and, ultimately, this form of resistance band
societies together. Peaceful protesters are simply standing up for what they believe in and isn t
that what America is about? The free societies Americans live in today allow for freedom of speech
and it is this free speech that can change a nation. When these protests get out of hand is when they
can negatively affect society. When protesters start smashing windows and setting cars on fire it
can make people afraid of other protesters. These people acting immaturely put a negative
connotation on the word protester. People need to understand that protesting should simply be
another word for peaceful resistance and not destruction or terror. Even though peaceful resistance
benefits free societies, one cannot forget where they came from and how

Junie B. Jones is a twenty eight book series written by Barbara Park for ages five through nine.
The series had been under close scrutiny due to the main character Junie B. s lack of maturity and
self discipline, also, her language and mispronunciation of words. There are some that even believe
that Junie B. actually has some form of learning disability. But what if all of her disciplinary issues,
her shouting in class, her immaturity, and even some of her speech impediments stem from not her
own learning incompetencies, but her teachers . In a classroom a teacher has the ability to either
build a students confidence and sense of industry or their skepticism and inferiority. The main way
in which they can do this is through their teaching... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Taking what happened in the interactions and decided what category of class management was
being utilized out of our possibilities. Also, how Junie B. reacted to each style of teaching
whether is was a positive or negative interactions and whether it had a positive or negative
reaction correlating with it. After deciding what our topic was going to deal with we decided to
pull examples from real life that also illustrated our main ideas, so, the group also pulled examples
of classroom management from bulletin boards seen in classrooms at the schools Raymond F
Brandes and Creston that included clip system of disciplinary action, expectations of reading
comprehension in grade levels, and a smiley to frown face disciplinary system. Within the four
books we found that between the interactions of three different teachers Junie B. was exposed to
PEP styes of teaching, authoritative styles of teaching, authoritarian styles of teaching, and
permissive styles of teaching.
Keeping in mind that this table is only based off of four books in the Junie B. series and the
entire series is twenty eight books in total with eighteen set when Junie B. is in Kindergarten
interacting with Mrs. and sometimes Principal, while only ten books in the series take place when
Junie B. is in first grade interacting with Mr. Scary its is safe to say that each young reader, if they
read the entire series, is getting a heavier dose of permissive, and authoritarian class management
representation

Analysis Of Pygmalion By George Bernard Shaw
An Analysis of the English class system in Pygmalion
Throughout the play, Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, many of the characters represent
different social class structures. They also resemble how the higher class citizens feel
threatened by the lower class citizens. Protagonist Eliza Doolittle, Henry Higgins, and Mrs.
Pearce are prime examples of characters who portray different roles in the Victorian social
structure. This play takes place during the Victorian period in England where the upper , middle,
and lower class were at different stages. This social system was not meant for lower class to
move up and down the hierarchy. If someone was born poor they would most likely die poor.
Especially women in the class system were not able to move up in the class system without their
husbands. Through the book many characters break these traditional norms, represent the ideas of
the class system, and act as a model for the upper class.
Many of the characters represent different social class structures. Eliza would be a threat to the
upper class because her intent is to move from lower to upper class. In the beginning Eliza was
just a dirty flower girl on the street with no money and Higgins says, She is no doubt as clean as
she can afford to be; but compared to the ladies she is very dirty. Her features are no worse than
theirs; but their condition leaves something to be desired; and she needs the services of a dentist
(129). Here Eliza is the lowest of the low. She

An Analysis of Marks and Spencer
An Analysis of Marks and Spencer
INTRODUCTION TO THE FIRM AND ITS INDUSTRY
Marks and Spencer is one of the largest retailers in the United Kingdom, and is also known as a
major retailer selling diverse product ranges under their own exclusive brand in more than thirty
countries. Customer confidence in the Marks and Spencer brand remains second to none.
According to recent research undertaken by the Company, it shows that, in clothing, Mark and
Spencer has a clear lead over all its major competitors in the key areas of fit, quality, trust, breadth
of range and customer service.
In November of 2000, Marks and Spencer will launch a trial of three new lingerie only outlets in

The most unusual part of this downswing of Marks Spencer is that the company has added 50,000
new investors to its share register over the past year. Normally a company as crisis torn as this one
cannot attract such a voluminous new following of investors, and rarely can the new fan club have
been so disappointed by what it found. The shares have been in more or less continual decline
throughout this period. Many analysts are wondering why? (Anonymous 21).
One explanation is that Marks Spencer has appeared on numerous share tip lists as an obvious
recovery stock. Many important newspapers included the company in its New Year share tips, and
the brokers have been unrelenting in rating the stock a buy. But investors don t have to read the
newspapers to think in the same way as them. Marks Spencer is still a very good brand which in the
past has achieved outstanding retail success. The logic behind buying the shares, then, is the belief
that they must at some time bounce back (Anonymous 21).
This is a bad enough strategy to apply to stock market investment generally, but it is a particularly
bad when applied to a specific stock such as in this case. The world is a fast changing place and just
because a company was once at the top of its competition doesn t mean it will ever be that way
again. Marks Spencer shares have repeatedly over the last year attempted to stage a recovery,

Nuclear Arms are Weapons of Mass Destruction
Nuclear arms can easily be classified as weapons of mass destruction, as they destroy all
ecosystems that come in contact with it in a matter of seconds, this fairly new and evolving breed
of warfare is continuously becoming a bigger threat to society due to the fact that; the government
can turn to nuclear power if opposing countries do not comply with their needs. The Cold War was
essentially defined by nuclear weaponsand the nuclear arm race between United States and the
Soviet Union. A high degree of anxiety existed between the two superpowers and millions of
citizens around the world were put to risk by nuclear arm race. The use of these nuclear weapons
were exceedingly destructive and the consequences were so enormous that the protection of human
rights were questioned. However the use of these weapons were merely to prevent their use by
others. In other words nuclear weapons were devices of deterrence not warfighting. There was a
mutual nuclear weaponownership with both states possessing nuclear weapons, therefore the odds
of war dropped quickly. Both superpowers quickly came to the realization that nuclear war
between the two countries could lead to a devastation effect on the world which concluded the cold
war. From 1968 the only universal treaty that stops the spread of nuclear weapons is the Non
Proliferation Treaty (NPT) with about 130 members. China is a nuclear weapon state but not a
party to the treaty. Also missing are India, Pakistan, Brazil, Argentina

Taurus Case Study
Company Background
Christopher Columbus was probably the first European to handle rubber. Rubber has been used by
the Haitian for centuries. In 1819 Thomas Hancock discovered that latex rubber can be masticated,
but unfortunately mastication deprived rubber of its elastic qualities.
Charles Goodyear has discovered vulcanization in 1839, which solved the problem and also kept
rubber products from becoming tacky. Hence the commercial uses of rubber multiplied greatly.
Shortly thereafter, the rise of the automobile industry at the century s turn resulted in a tremendous
increase in the demand for rubber and its principal application in the manufacture of automobile and
truck tires. The production of natural rubber entails ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As a result, we come out with the problem statement mention about how the company restructuring
the business line and revitalize growth.
Thus, SWOT analysis was being used to identify the strength, weaknesses, opportunity, and threats
of the company s operation. By using this analysis, we get to identify how the company s operation
runs and what strategies would be the best to be suggested in the alternatives. The strength for
Taurus is well established background, reputation for quality, strong division and strategic internal
development. The weakness is inefficiencies productivity, weak competitive position and not
incorporated division. The threat and opportunity is from the external environment. The
opportunity is highly attractive market, awareness of joint venture and merging, high demand of
rubbers and tires, opportunity to privatise and the competitiveness of Hungary s exports. Lastly, the
threat is high threat of new entrants, maturity of tires, occurrence of new private law and crisis in
Hungarian industry.
Based on the problem statement and the SWOT analysis we suggest four alternatives. First
alternative is strategic alliances by creating new strategic business units (SBUs). They can joint the
automobile industries, truck and bus industries and construction and building industries. They can
privatize when government set the law. This is a threat and

Essay on Descartes Failure
Descartes Failure
In his Meditations on First Philosophy, Descartes strives first and foremost to provide an
infallibly justified foundation for the empirical sciences, and second to prove the existence of
God. I will focus on the first and second meditations in my attempt to show that, in his skepticism
of the sources of knowledge, he fails to follow the rules he has set out in the Discourse on Method.
First I claim that Descartes fails to draw the distinction between pure sensation and inference, which
make up what he calls sensation, and then consider the consequences of this failure to follow his
method. Second, I will show that in his treatment of thinking Descartes fails to distinguish between
active and passive thinking. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His goal is the betterment of the human condition. A useful metaphor for explaining the Cartesian
system is the tree of knowledge .[3] According to Descartes the roots of knowledge are
metaphysics, to which he applies himself in the Meditations. From the metaphysics grow the
physics; for they are justified by the metaphysics; the physics are the trunk of the tree. From the
physics branch off mechanics, medicine and morals, the fruits of which take the form of utility, that
is, applied science, medicine, and applied ethics (on an interpersonal, or international level). The
development of these fruits leads to the improvement of the human condition: freedom from pain,
sickness and suffering through medicine, reduction of stresses on the body and freedom from
physical labour through applied science (which makes our work easier), and freedom from anxiety
and mental strain through the development of applied ethics (which helps us to avoid and resolve
conflicts on many levels).
Descartes uses a reductionistic method. In my criticism I will take up this method as well.
Descartes can be criticized on the grounds that this may not be the best method, and is not the only
one that has been proposed as appropriate to the task of justifying beliefs.[4] Descartes uses a first
person method often called epistemic individualism, in which he takes up the position of an

The Effects Of Pollution In China
When you walk into a store and pick up a few manufactured items, odds are they were produced in
china. That being said, it is safe to say that china is a global leader in manufacturing and
international exports. But what does this mean for china and its residents? In recent years, its
population has seen that it means increased pollution as well as health risks. As Chinahas become
more globalized, it s major cities have shot up, and pollution has gone through the roof. Resulting
from the industrial revolution, China and its cities have both grown and been destroyed.
Shanghai, for example, Chinas main center for world trade is the wealthiest as well as the largest
city in china. As the industry in the city has grown, the pollution has followed right along. The city
is Chinas busiest cargo and container ports meaning there is high traffic of container ships polluting
the air. Recent reports tell us that an estimated ninety percent of Shanghais pollution stems from
motor vehicle emissions, coal burning and the heavy amount of industry that takes place.
For the residents of the China, the pollution is a thick smog draping the city that is only
thickening by the moment. This has caused many health risks for residents, increase in major
respiratory issues, and instilled a fear in residents to go outside. When you take a look at the
population of china, you don t see people playing outside or sunbathing, you see them waking

Investigation on Flame Retardant Effect of Myanmar Banana (Musa Sapientum Linn) Pseudostem
Sap on Cotton Fabric
Abstract: The main aim of this work is to investigate the flame retardant effect of Myanmar banana
pseudostem sap on cotton fabric. The objectives of this work are to extract the banana sap , to
produce the flame retardant fabric with different concentrations of alkaline BPS (banana
pseudostem sap ) ,and to analyse the produced flame retardant fabrics .Firstly the sap is extracted
from the banana stem. The extracted sap is made alkaline and applied in mordanted cotton fabrics.
Then, the BPS treated fabrics are tested for some physical properties such as weight, and breaking
strength. The results show that the BPS treated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inherent and treated are two terms that are used a lot in the flame resistant world. The term
inherently flame resistant fabric is one that is used for fabrics that do not required the addition of
flame retardant chemicals after the yarns have been spun or the fabric has been woven or knitted.
The yarns of these fabric use only fibres that are naturally flame resistant. The common theme is no
flame retardant chemicals are added to the yarn or fabric.
Unlike inherent fabrics, flame resistant treated fabrics(flame retardant fabrics) have the flame
retardant chemicals added to the fabric after it has been woven or knitted.
Most of the chemicals used for fire retardant finishing of cotton textile are synthetic compounds and
they are available in the market. These chemicals and their application procedures are hazardous,
expensive and non eco friendly [4].
Cellulosic cotton textile catches flame readily that is quite difficult to extinguish. This poses a
serious risk to the health and life of a living and damages potential to textile products. Banana is
one of most important and common fruits in Myanmar. The crop can be grown throughout the
country. It grows wild and also cultivated on a large scale as a field crop as well as backyard crop
in household. Banana pseudostem is abundantly available in Myanmar and it is normally
considered as waste material. It is eco friendly and available from renewable source.
In this work, banana pseudostem sap (BPS) extracted from

Antiques Roads Show Research Paper
Antiques Roadshow is a television (TV) show where appraisers travel to different areas across the
US and appraise and discuss objects that different people bring. The discussion of the object

After the brief moment of sobriety in American history called prohibition, beer companies
reached out to MLB franchises asking to endorse their teams. Many of these brewing companies
were regional. The New York Mets, for example, went into an advertising partnership with the
regional Knickerbocker beer. The introduction of beer endorsements paved the way for
advertisements in every nook and cranny of the ballpark. During the prohibition era, MLB
teams began to have their games broadcasted over radio, but after the 21st amendment was
created, baseball broadcasters began to have their beer endorsements advertise on their
broadcast. Furthermore, brewing companies used TV to broadcast advertisements once baseball
teams began a widespread use of it. Many brewing companies even used former players to
advertise. A Miller Lite commercial used retired players like Boog Powell to advertise their
brand. Thus, once prohibition was over brewing companies began an aggressive advertising
campaign across the MLB. In addition, some brewing companies cut out the middleman and
bought teams themselves. There is a long history of brewing company owned baseball teams. The

Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business
Choosing the Right Structure for a New Business 1. Introduction A new idea for a business is
the setting up of a mobile photographic studio. There are many individuals who want family
portraits, or photos for identification or other reasons, who do not have time to go to a
professional photographer. There are already a number of services where photographers will set
up in a shopping centre to take family portraits of photos of children, or go to schools and take
children s photographs to sell to parents. The new idea takes this a stage further, allowing a
family to invite a photographer into there home for a set period of time, for a set price which
will include a specific number of photographs. The idea of the convenience, as well as high
quality of service, will create differentiation, with the aim of gaining business by
recommendation. The business will be set up ion an areas where there are is a large population
of middle and upper class families, and where a similar service is not easily identifiable. In order
to set up the business it is necessary to consider the practical implications associated with the
different business structures which may be used to establish the firm. 2. Forms of Business
Organization When setting up a business, the idea is only a part of the process. It is also
necessary to consider the way in which the business itself will be set up in order to function. There
are three basic structure which may be used; sole proprietor, partnership

Hidden Meaning In Blaise Pascal s Wager
A question that people often ask themselves is, why? It is one that is applicable to all facets of life.
It attempts to discern the meaning behind an action, whether a hidden meaning exists or not. The
question why often is thought provoking as each individual seeks to answer their own question of
why. It is a questionso versatile that it can be asked under every single circumstance the universe
could ever possibly create. The gambler inside each and every person at some point has asked why
not. However, that question is one that has seemingly endless possibilities as it is typically used to
justify an action with risky outcomes or to discern the opportunity cost of something. Blaise Pascal,

In order to properly justify his belief he could have provided some sort of opinion to show the
benefits of believing in God, rather than just why not. Granted justification through the premise
of why is one that provokes many questions, which could become seemingly endless. To justify
believing in God through means of why one may point out the benefits as Pascal did, though he
worked through the inverse. The benefits of God out weigh the negatives as one engages in
what is considered by society to be morally acceptable behavior. This morally acceptable
behavior is not only beneficial to the individual, but also society as a whole. However, if an
individual were to engage in immoral behavior society would be harmed, as eventually the
immoral behavior could potentially become a societal norm. Consequently, society would become
victim a victim to self service, as each tries to better their own situation instead of worrying about
others. If society were to dive into selfish social norms, the question of why would become one
that would only lead to a handful of questions, all of which revolve around the benefits to ones

Analysis Of The Book The Help

the book The Help is the outside bathroom that Hilly Holbrook suggests. Hilly says That s
exactly why I ve designed the Home Help Sanitation Initiative, a disease preventative measure.
Hilly Holbrook (Pg 10) This image represents the theme of racial prejudice. Racial prejudice is
the negative demeanor toward a group of people based on skin color. You already have this
negative opinion on these people without ever having an experience with them. This is how
most of the women in The Help act. This racial prejudice develops from an early age. This is
because their mothers raise their children this way and it keeps being passed down, until
someone like Skeeter breaks the chain. This outside bathroom represents the lack of respect and
view they have on black women. They think so less of them that they prevent them from using
the same restroom. A quote showing that these white women don t accept or respect blacks is A
bill that requires every white home to have a separate bathroom for the colored help. I ve even

Investors’ On-Off Relationship With Emerging Market Debt
Investors on off relationship with emerging market debt (EMD) was again on display during
much of 2016: annual performance reached double digit heights by September, before falling
back in the three days following the US elections. Despite this seesaw pattern of returns, EMD
finished the year as one of the best performing fixed income markets, underscoring the merit of
having a strategic allocation to the asset class. Less obvious is what, if anything, investors can do
to reap consistently more of the gains, and less of the volatility. The reasons for investing in EMD

R1972 And R2012 Report
Assessment is an essential part of the teaching and learning process. Assessment is most effective
when there is alignment between the outcomes, the design of assessment tasks, the criteria,
marking procedures and feedback provided; this referred to as constructive alignment (Potter
Kustra, 2012). The purpose of an assessment, and the modes and strategies used will depend on a
number of factors. Diagnostic, formative, and summative assessmentare three modes of assessment
that may be used. While each of these modes of assessment has a particular purpose, the underlying
purpose of all assessments is to promote student learning (Brady Kennedy, 2012).
Diagnostic assessments are usually conducted at the beginning of a unit of work to find out
students current levels of understandings and reveal any misconceptions. Summative assessments
are given at the end of a unit of work these assessments are used to determine the degree to which

concepts long before Freud himself was even a figment of his ancestor s imagination. Many
scholars discuss Shakespeare s use of the Oedipus complex, penis envy, and many of Sigmund
Freud s other famous concepts and while a proxy family may not be a Freudian concept

has a strained relationship with their parent or guardian, but also included in the play is a parental

One may ask, What could have gone so wrong in their relationship to cause Falstaff s close friend
to abandon him? There are many speculations to the cause, including, but not limited to, the idea
stemming from Prince Hal s soliloquy in 1 Henry IV, 1.2.173 195, that in order for others to see
or believe his best, they must first see his worst. Prince Hal s treatment of Falstaff leads one to
question their relationship, introduced in 1 Henry IV. In this relationship one finds the notion that
Prince Hal used Falstaff as a proxy father. The analysis of this concept will be based on textual
scenes from The Norton Shakespeare and Orson Wellesfilm, Falstaff Chimes at Midnight.
The first scene where readers see Falstaff as Prince Hal s proxy father is in Act 2, Scene 5 of 1
Henry IV. In this scene one reads Falstaff s telling of how he, Gadshill, Peto, and Bardolph were
robbed after they had robbed the travelers. He tells Prince Hal that first there were two robbers,
then four, seven, nine, and finally eleven. From the beginning of the play, readers can tell what
kind of character Falstaff is; he was never endowed with great possessions, respect, or status like
Prince Hal, so his stories were a way to get attention, even if it was because the others were
laughing at his ridiculousness. As Falstaff s story becomes even wilder Prince Hal becomes more
incredulous, not believing how exaggerated the story has become, and is evident in Welles Falstaff

greater impact than the Greek and Roman empires. These empires began as small city states, and
grew to become the powerful empires we know today. The Greek and Roman empires were not
always enemies, considering the Romans were greatly influenced by the Greek culture. The two
civilizations shared many similarities, but had different opinions on government operations. There
are three different periods that span the history of the Greek and Roman empires; the Hellenic,

The people flowed smoothly throughout the Hellenistic kingdoms mainly because they spoke and

able to communicate with anyone. Even with everyone connected there was still social disorder
due to the sudden change in government policy. People were actively involved the self governed
democratic government of the past. Now that citizens were once again living in impersonal empires
ruled by bureaucrats, they started to feel alienated. The Hellenistic art and literature expressed the
feelings of the citizens. They began to sculpt and paint actual people as opposed to the gods their
culture was so centered around. The citizens also began to join random religions that promised
immortality and individual wealth. Even Hellenistic philosophers focused their time on preaching
about individual happiness and pleasure. The Hellenistic period was an age ruled by

Habitus Bourdieu described habitus as embodied cultural capital that a person expresses in the
form of skills and habits an unconscious disposition the person accumulates overtime.
Socialization is one of the ways that an embodied cultural capital is attached to the body
(Bourdieu 1977:72 95) Wacquant (2004:16) demonstrates habitus by describing the body as a

one to build body capital, gaining habitus is a sign of readiness to participate in sports
(Wacquant 2004:127). In Wacquant s (2004:16) view, one needs to acquire a set of bodily and
mental schemata and also to construct the theory of practice to effectively participate in sports
(Bourdieu, 1997). Borrowing from this approach, I will seek to understand and describe my lived

What Are The Five Major Models Of Organizations That...
Individuals are all different but they all share similar characteristics. It comes within the leader
to recognize the differences and similarities. Leaders have to analyze and comprehend the
employees so that workers perform a better outcome. Organizations need a mission to look
forward; this objective should be shared or compatible with employees so that outcomes are
better and more effective. There are five major models of organization that characterized
employees. These models are Autocratic model, Custodial model, Supportive model, collegial
model, and the System model Employers have to know when and why they should apply each
model, and if to even apply them at all. The working environment is an enormous and crucial
component that influences employees performance. Leaders have to know how and when to
motivate the individuals. They have to understand that workers have to motivate to work,
nevertheless they still have to be focused toward the organization s mission. Organizations are
very complex but simple at the same time. An organization is a group of people that are organized

Book Review:
Jim Elliot: One Great Purpose by Janet Geoff Benge
I chose this book because I have seen the movie: End of the Spear.
Jim was influenced by the different missionaries visiting his home, who then told him about their
life on faraway mission fields. He asked them questions and dreamed about being a missionary
himself some day.
Jim hoped to be a missionary, because it made him sad that so many people in other countries died
without knowing about God.
Jim actually became a missionary. He left the USA and boarded an 18 day long boat trip to
Quito, Ecuador to be a missionary there. Jim and his missionary partner Pete Fleming spent a year
in Quito learning Spanish. They then moved to Shandia a small Quichua village to take the place of

that they were friendly. Nate Saint, a missionary pilot, came up with a way to lower a bucket

perfect way to win the trust of the Aucas without putting anyone in danger. They began to drop
gifts to the Aucas. They also used a loudspeaker to say friendly Auca phrases. After many months,
the Aucas even sent a gift back up in the bucket to the plane. One day while flying above Auca
territory, Nate Saint saw a beach that looked long enough to land his plane on. He planned to land

The Empowerment of Japanese Women, through Strong Female...
Within the mediums of popular culture, the representation of women has often been controversial,
due to the use of their gender and the attitudes toward them. In a majority of anime themes, the
women have been drawn for their sensuality and sexuality constraints. Their role was to be
dominated by their male counterparts. It has reinforced the stereotypical role of women which is
the passive and sensitive role. Why is popular culture important? It influences the thoughts of the

Japanese women were getting an education, but remained unemployed compared to their male

would not allow them to advance socially. The oppression becomes invisible that an outsider
might believe that the Japanese women have gained their rights. Still, some may say that
Japanese women were more discriminated than their western neighbours.11 They were hired as
Office Flowers (shokuba no hana), meaning they were given small tasks without the title of a
career path.12 Since Japan s employment advancement system is based on the years of service,
the women are isolated into menial jobs that will not gain them any points towards job
experience.13 Hence, the question becomes how can women overcome this silent and effective
oppression. From a political perspective, the only way to change society is to transforms its laws
to adapt to the development of Japanese women. During the forties and fifties, Japan passed many

Gang Vs Gang Case Study
J.T operates exactly like a franchise. J.T must pay a 20 percent due towards the board of

separated as fixed and variable cost. The fixed costs are the dues and the Extortionary taxes and
the variable costs are weapons or mercenary fighter. Any earning made after these cost go towards

example of this is the similarities that drug dealer and a newly hired corporate worker face. A
drug dealer must face the same initial obstacles that your everyday worker goes through. The drug

inconvenience, unlike Uber wherein the drivers cannot turn down a passenger. He also added that
the vehicles for Uber needed to at least be the 2013 model or newer so that ensures comfort for
both the driver and the passenger. Another advantage that Uber has over GrabTaxi, according to
Andrew, is that the mode of payment is credit card and not cash. Because of this mode of
payment, the drivers need not worry about giving change, nor do the passengers need to
consider if the amount of money they are carrying is enough to pay for the trip. Andrew also
added that Uber is safer than GrabTaxi for both the driver and the rider for they both learn a few
details about each other before the ride starts, and at the end of a trip, the passenger and the
driver rate each other through the app which serves as feedback which will be seen by the next
driver/passenger. I expected the answers he gave since the reasons he enumerated are also the same
reasons I use Uber instead of GrabTaxi. Basically, Uber is easier to use, safer, and more

Overview of Interrelated Aggregate Demand and Aggregate...
Aggregate Supply Curve Variables
One of the major facets and functions of modern macroeconomic and microeconomic theory are
the interrelated aggregate demand and aggregate supply curves. This report will focus on the latter
as well as the variables that are typically accepted to affect the aggregate supply curves. An
example graph showing a hypothetical shift in the aggregate supply curve is included in the
appendix of this report.
Aggregate Supply Curve Summary
As noted in the introduction, there are two major components to the subject of the aggregate
supply curve that beginners must understand. First, the aggregate supply curve interacts with the
aggregate demand curve to set an equilibrium price. In other words, given a certain amount of
demand and a certain amount of supply, there is a equilibrium price where shortages do not occur
but the supply on hand sells out entirely. If the price is set too high, then sales will plummet. If
the price is set to low, the supply will drop too quickly and cause a shortage while at the same time
yielding less revenue that what was possible given the supply and demand correlation (Elwood,
2010).
The other, and very related, point inferred in the prior paragraph is that supply and demand set
the price at which a good is sold, more often than not. If there is a glut of items on the shelf,
prices will typically have to come down. If there is a massive amount of demand for a product,
then prices will generally go as high as the market

Presuptive Investigation Report
A presumptive is a test that is used to establish what type of body tissue or fluid is present at a
crime scene. Therefore, it can be used to find serology evidence which consist of blood, semen or
saliva. Furthermore, it can narrow down the possibilities of who was on the scene as well as what
test is needed. It can also cover a large area; find evidence that is not visible to the naked eye
because it could be blood, semen or saliva. Therefore, when it comes to testing blood at a crime
scene there are three different test that can be used to test it such as a phenolphthalein test,
luminol test and alternate light sources. Now a phenolphthalein test also known as the Kastle
Meyer test can be used at a scene to test for blood because if there is blood present it will react to
the heme molecules in the blood and give off a pink color. A luminol test is used to get a reaction
by using a light that results in the finding of oxidizing agents such as blood by catalyzing the
oxidation by using hydrogen peroxide in a basic solution. However, this test has been known to
give false results because of other chemical presents. The next one is alternative light which is the

House Of The Scorpion Analysis
I believe utopias do not actually exist. It s like how no one is absolutely perfect. There are many
books and short stories that make this clear. For example, House of the Scorpion by Nancy
Farmer, Animal Farm by George Orwell, and The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell. This
stories show the defenent truth that utopias simply do not exist in real life, just our imagination.
Nancy Farmer shows readers through her book The House of the Scorpion that utopias are not real.
A person cannot create their utopia by themselves; they might want servants/slave/workers to do
their work. In this case, El PatrбЅ№n uses clones, eejits, Farm Patrol, and servants etc. to do work

The story is told from the perspective of the first survivor of his game . Rainsford is a famous

he soon realized he had no choice. Rainsford tricks the General and the General turns in to

General Zaroff idea of utopia was murder so he would not be bored. Also, he had a servant named
Ivan that he treated poorly. He gets what he deserves when he loses the game to Rainsford. His
utopia backfires when he lets his guard down and is killed. He didn t think he could ever be
imperfect and lose the game. This is not a utopia because people get killed, a servant gets treated
poorly, and the creator of the utopia dies. Connell shows evidence through a fictional story that
utopias do not and cannot exist; it is not possible.
Utopias are not possible. This fictional stories replicate what would happen if someone tried to
create a utopia in real life. Many people have tried to create utopias, such as Hitler. There are many

Nelson Mandela Character Analysis
Nyayiel Lok
Director Riveroll
Senior Monday
11 Sep 2017
Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. The first person I think of is Nelson
Mandela. Mandela s ultimate success had to do with his character and background. Although he
was born in a royal family, grew up in a divided region of South Africa between blacks and whites.
He still managed to maintain a correct mindset to a path leading to success. You can come from a
small surrounding and have a bigger triumph than someone who comes from a lot more, or it s the
total opposite. In this case, it s the fact that coming from a wealthy family who supports you will
get you anywhere. Gladwell argues that having a superior background means that it is much easier
to be successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which brings me to my next point. One s background definitely has an impact on successful
people. If it were a different person with a different background, hence the situation would have
turned out differently. Many people are born already into an easier lifestyle because of the place
their family has already had. Robert Oppenheimer was a smart guy who turned out to be
successful with the support of his family and wealth. Oppenheimer didn t face the lifetime
struggles, Lagan has. But he did suffer from depression and was emotionally unstable, which
made sense as to why, Oppenheimer took some chemicals from the laboratory and tried to
poison his tutor (Gladwell 98). The first instance is that any person is going to go to jail for any
crime he or she did, no matter who they are or what reputation they hold. But for this case,
Oppenheimer was taken out the hot seat and was not punished. I believe he was let out of the
situation way too easily and it was odd for them to do. Gladwell here covers every detail of
Oppenheimer s case, making it to the university and how they handled it, Blackett, luckily, found
out that something was amiss. The university was informed. Oppenheimer was called on the carpet.
And what happened next is every bit as unbelievable as the crime itself. Here is how the incident is
described in American Prometheus, Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin s biography of Oppenheimer:
After protracted negotiations, it was

Enlightenment By Immanuel Kant
In the Essay What is Enlightenment? writer Immanuel Kant expresses that it is often troublesome
for individuals to emerge out of adolescence. He says that individuals would frequently stay content
in a condition of immaturity. As indicated by him, guidelines and formulas tie individuals to a
condition of immaturity. A man, he says, who might set out to resist the standards and equations
would just make a little stride towards development since he is unaccustomed to this sort of free
development. Just a couple of individuals, as indicated by Kant, have prevailing with regards to
rising out of immaturity. He says that such individuals have done so by developing their minds.
Kant characterizes enlightenment as man s emergence from his self imposed immaturity (Kant,
Enlightenment 1). One should first comprehend what Kant implied by Enlightenment and Maturity
. The essential qualifier for enlightenment isn t finding reality, yet hunting down it. To accomplish
this, man should essentially practice his point of view without influence. In the written work Kant
characterizes maturity as the inability to use one s understanding without the guidance from
another (Kant, Enlightenment 1). Maturity more specifically means the lack of resolution and
courage. Also, instead of taking your own decisions, you rely on authority, parents, relatives and
government. The writer believes that one doesn t allow themselves to think openly and from others

These occupations can range from playing with peers, to social interactions with peers and teachers, to academic and non academic activities to activities of self maintenance, and to interactions with the schoolenvironment (Chandler Clark, 2013). Nearly, thirteen percent children in pubic schools receive special educationservices (National Center for Educational Statistics, 2017). Statement of the Problem The current policies in education call for the provision of related services such as occupational therapy (OT) in natural settings (Chandler Clark, 2013)(Individuals with Disabilities and Education Act, 2004). As a result, service delivery models in public schools have shifted from pullout interventions to providing services in a child s natural environment (Case Smith Holland, 2009; Hong, 2014; Nochajski, 2002; Villeneuve Hutchinson, 2012). The sensory diet intervention is in accord with the current educational policies and trends as the intervention is provided in a child s natural settings. In addition, this intervention intends to improve the child s participation in school activities by improving the child s ability to process and organize sensory stimuli and his/her sensory arousal. Nearly twenty six percent occupational therapists work in school settings (American Occupational Therapy Association, 2015) and ninety percent of them use interventions based on the sensory integration (SI) theory to manage the manifestations of SPD in school settings (Ahn et al., 2004). Although the sensory diet intervention is widely used in school based settings to manage manifestations of sensory processing issues, very few studies have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Eliot wrote The Waste Land in reference to the state of Europe after World War I. The poem paints a bleak, hopeless view of the state of human and political affairs. Eliot refers to London, which was previously prosperous and progressive, as an Unreal City. The language of the poem is chaotic and fragmented. The setting of the poem is sterile and barren producing nothing, not even children. Lust which is prevalent throughout The Waste Landcauses destruction and confusion. Lines 230 through 256 characterize the absence of passion in life. The Waste Land challenges the reader to re evaluate the value of relationships by illustrating a world with empty and meaningless... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This rhyme scheme creates a sing song property within the stanzas, which completely contradicts the poems appalling content. The meticulously orchestrated sentence structure and slant rhyme within the poem creates the pleasant, flowing sound of euphony. The flow of words, unobstructed by harsh sounds, contradicts the vile nature of the stanzas. These poetic devices further illustrate the indifferent attitude and nonchalant manner in which the people of Europe, post World War I , wasted their lives. Class separation and focus on accumulating wealth is another means in which the people of The Waste Land squander their time and attention. The female is a typist, which is not a particularly lucrative profession. The typist has so little money that she does not even own a bed. The young man works in real estate and clearly brings in more money than the female. The phrase silk hat on a Bradford millionaire refers to the worthless accumulation of large wealth and the impractical objects the wealthy spends their money on. The female within these stanzas is depicted in a scrutinizing manner. The typist has invited the young man over expected guest . The woman is bored and tired, completely un amused by the young man. During her assault she is too complacent to react. When he leaves she barely notices Hardly Aware of her departed lover; . She is goes through the motions of her life with no ... The Fashion in Elizabethan England at this time reflected the values and Ideals of the era. The foreign look was the look that society wanted to achieve during the Elizabethan era, for it reflected the values of Queen Elizabeth, who happened to be the ideal women of the era. One effect that should have been expected was that Queen Elizabeth would have an impacted on the society that she gave her name to. The one thing that wasn t expected however was the extent to which Queen Elizabeth would influence fashion. Queen Elizabeth was passionate about fashion and she spread her love for it through out the kingdom. One of Queen Elizabeth s talents was her ability to use any situation to her political advantage (Boucher 17). She wanted to be seen as a person with power and capability and she thought rich cloths would help obtain that opinion. • 9. Freedom In America Today When martin Luther King Jr. proclaimed to the world that he had a dream, people stopped and realized it didn t have to be just a dream. People didn t just listen to what this leader had to say, they actually heard him, and they understood him. Society today reflects the hundreds of peaceful, or sometimes not so peaceful, protests held by leaders of our past and present that were heard and understood. Without peaceful protest to laws, segregation may still be in America. Same sex marriage may not be legal. Women may not have as many rights as they do now. Freedom today in America, for example, is different than freedom fifty years ago. Freedom today includes all peoples instead of a select few. Resistance to laws brought this free society farther... Angry about rights being taken away, angry about President Trump, and angry about their freedoms being restricted, but not every protester is looking to destroy cities. Peaceful marches and protests lead to a stronger society. They show that no matter what the odds, somebody will be there for support and, ultimately, this form of resistance band societies together. Peaceful protesters are simply standing up for what they believe in and isn t that what America is about? The free societies Americans live in today allow for freedom of speech and it is this free speech that can change a nation. When these protests get out of hand is when they can negatively affect society. When protesters start smashing windows and setting cars on fire it can make people afraid of other protesters. These people acting immaturely put a negative connotation on the word protester. People need to understand that protesting should simply be another word for peaceful resistance and not destruction or terror. There are some that even believe that Junie B. actually has some form of learning disability. But what if all of her disciplinary issues, her shouting in class, her immaturity, and even some of her speech impediments stem from not her own learning incompetencies, but her teachers . In a classroom a teacher has the ability to either build a students confidence and sense of industry or their skepticism and inferiority. Analysis Of Pygmalion By George Bernard Shaw An Analysis of the English class system in Pygmalion Throughout the play, Pygmalion, by George Bernard Shaw, many of the characters represent different social class structures. They also resemble how the higher class citizens feel threatened by the lower class citizens. Protagonist Eliza Doolittle, Henry Higgins, and Mrs. Pearce are prime examples of characters who portray different roles in the Victorian social structure. This play takes place during the Victorian period in England where the upper , middle, and lower class were at different stages. This social system was not meant for lower class to move up and down the hierarchy. If someone was born poor they would most likely die poor. Especially women in the class system were not able to move up in the class system without their husbands. Through the book many characters break these traditional norms, represent the ideas of the class system, and act as a model for the upper class. Many of the characters represent different social class structures. Eliza would be a threat to the upper class because her intent is to move from lower to upper class. In the beginning Eliza was just a dirty flower girl on the street with no money and Higgins says, She is no doubt as clean as she can afford to be; but compared to the ladies she is very dirty. Her features are no worse than theirs; but their condition leaves something to be desired; and she needs the services of a dentist (129). Here Eliza is the lowest of the low. She ... The most unusual part of this downswing of Marks Spencer is that the company has added 50,000 new investors to its share register over the past year. Normally a company as crisis torn as this one cannot attract such a voluminous new following of investors, and rarely can the new fan club have been so disappointed by what it found. The shares have been in more or less continual decline throughout this period. Many analysts are wondering why? (Anonymous 21). One explanation is that Marks Spencer has appeared on numerous share tip lists as an obvious recovery stock. Many important newspapers included the company in its New Year share tips, and the brokers have been unrelenting in rating the stock a buy. But investors don t have to read the newspapers to think in the same way as them. Marks Spencer is still a very good brand which in the past has achieved outstanding retail success. The logic behind buying the shares, then, is the belief that they must at some time bounce back (Anonymous 21). This is a bad enough strategy to apply to stock market investment generally, but it is a particularly bad when applied to a specific stock such as in this case. Nuclear Arms are Weapons of Mass Destruction Nuclear arms can easily be classified as weapons of mass destruction, as they destroy all ecosystems that come in contact with it in a matter of seconds, this fairly new and evolving breed of warfare is continuously becoming a bigger threat to society due to the fact that; the government can turn to nuclear power if opposing countries do not comply with their needs. The Cold War was essentially defined by nuclear weaponsand the nuclear arm race between United States and the Soviet Union. A high degree of anxiety existed between the two superpowers and millions of citizens around the world were put to risk by nuclear arm race. The use of these nuclear weapons were exceedingly destructive and the consequences were so enormous that the protection of human rights were questioned. However the use of these weapons were merely to prevent their use by others. In other words nuclear weapons were devices of deterrence not warfighting. There was a mutual nuclear weaponownership with both states possessing nuclear weapons, therefore the odds of war dropped quickly. Both superpowers quickly came to the realization that nuclear war between the two countries could lead to a devastation effect on the world which concluded the cold war. I will focus on the first and second meditations in my attempt to show that, in his skepticism of the sources of knowledge, he fails to follow the rules he has set out in the Discourse on Method. First I claim that Descartes fails to draw the distinction between pure sensation and inference, which make up what he calls sensation, and then consider the consequences of this failure to follow his method. His goal is the betterment of the human condition. A useful metaphor for explaining the Cartesian system is the tree of knowledge .[3] According to Descartes the roots of knowledge are metaphysics, to which he applies himself in the Meditations. From the metaphysics grow the physics; for they are justified by the metaphysics; the physics are the trunk of the tree. From the physics branch off mechanics, medicine and morals, the fruits of which take the form of utility, that is, applied science, medicine, and applied ethics (on an interpersonal, or international level). The development of these fruits leads to the improvement of the human condition: freedom from pain, sickness and suffering through medicine, reduction of stresses on the body and freedom from physical labour through applied science (which makes our work easier), and freedom from anxiety and mental strain through the development of applied ethics (which helps us to avoid and resolve conflicts on many levels). Descartes uses a reductionistic method. In my criticism I will take up this method as well. Descartes can be criticized on the grounds that this may not be the best method, and is not the only one that has been proposed as appropriate to the task of justifying beliefs.[4] Descartes uses a first person method often called epistemic individualism, in which he takes up the position of an ... • 31. Oedipus Complex, Penis Envy, And The Tragedy Of Hamlet Although it may be a difficult idea to grasp, Shakespeare employed some of Sigmund Freud s concepts long before Freud himself was even a figment of his ancestor s imagination. Many scholars discuss Shakespeare s use of the Oedipus complex, penis envy, and many of Sigmund Freud s other famous concepts and while a proxy family may not be a Freudian concept specifically, it certainly enables them. Many of Shakespeare s works include a main character who has a strained relationship with their parent or guardian, but also included in the play is a parental figure, with some conceivably questionable actions or circumstances, and links can be made, through the text, indicating respectful relationships between these characters. There are many speculations to the cause, including, but not limited to, the idea stemming from Prince Hal s soliloquy in 1 Henry IV, 1.2.173 195, that in order for others to see or believe his best, they must first see his worst. Prince Hal s treatment of Falstaff leads one to question their relationship, introduced in 1 Henry IV. In this relationship one finds the notion that Prince Hal used Falstaff as a proxy father. The analysis of this concept will be based on textual scenes from The Norton Shakespeare and Orson Wellesfilm, Falstaff Chimes at Midnight. The first scene where readers see Falstaff as Prince Hal s proxy father is in Act 2, Scene 5 of 1 Henry IV. In this scene one reads Falstaff s telling of how he, Gadshill, Peto, and Bardolph were robbed after they had robbed the travelers. He tells Prince Hal that first there were two robbers, then four, seven, nine, and finally eleven. From the beginning of the play, readers can tell what kind of character Falstaff is; he was never endowed with great possessions, respect, or status like Prince Hal, so his stories were a way to get attention, even if it was because the others were laughing at his ridiculousness. As Falstaff s story becomes even wilder Prince Hal becomes more incredulous, not believing how exaggerated the story has become, and is evident in Welles Falstaff Chimes at ... These empires began as small city states, and grew to become the powerful empires we know today. The two civilizations shared many similarities, but had different opinions on government operations. • 47. Overview of Interrelated Aggregate Demand and Aggregate... Aggregate Supply Curve Variables One of the major facets and functions of modern macroeconomic and microeconomic theory are the interrelated aggregate demand and aggregate supply curves. This report will focus on the latter as well as the variables that are typically accepted to affect the aggregate supply curves. An example graph showing a hypothetical shift in the aggregate supply curve is included in the appendix of this report. Aggregate Supply Curve Summary As noted in the introduction, there are two major components to the subject of the aggregate supply curve that beginners must understand. First, the aggregate supply curve interacts with the aggregate demand curve to set an equilibrium price. In other words, given a certain amount of demand and a certain amount of supply, there is a equilibrium price where shortages do not occur but the supply on hand sells out entirely. If the price is set too high, then sales will plummet. If the price is set to low, the supply will drop too quickly and cause a shortage while at the same time yielding less revenue that what was possible given the supply and demand correlation (Elwood, 2010). The other, and very related, point inferred in the prior paragraph is that supply and demand set the price at which a good is sold, more often than not. If there is a glut of items on the shelf, prices will typically have to come down. If there is a massive amount of demand for a product, then prices will generally go as high as the market ... Oppenheimer was called on the carpet. And what happened next is every bit as unbelievable as the crime itself. Here is how the incident is described in American Prometheus, Kai Bird and Martin Sherwin s biography of Oppenheimer: After protracted negotiations, it was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
