Personal statement
I have always had a passion for IT and have wanted to work in the industry since leaving 6th
form. After joining BT IT Services in October 2013 I have gained new skills and a greater
understanding for new technologies. As of June 2015 I became part of BT’s Managed
Compute team and have since gained over a years’ worth of experience in using the following
systems: HP Server Automation, HP Operations Orchestration, HP One View,
VMware/vSphere 5.5, Commvault Simpana, Zerto, Trend Micro Anti Virus, SCOM, SCCM and
many more. I strongly believe I am well on my way to becoming a top rate engineer and I

Current roles include:
 Responsible for the base builds for all new customer server instances
 Carry out post build QA checks so all instances are fit for purpose including:
 Ensuring user accounts are set up,
 Checking that all new builds are patched to the latest recommended level
 Confirm that successful backups have been taken using a Commvault backup
solution
 Running checks to ensure that the network configuration is correct and that each
server can communicate with its respective network/s as well as adding any required
routes.
 Using HP Server Automation to carry out day to day server admin tasks.
 Troubleshooting across various systems to ensure successful instance builds.
 Stick to strict SLA’s (48 hour turn around on all new server instances).
 Solely responsible for all modification requests for any live customer servers.
Manually administering virtual machines in VMware to edit the specifications as well
as being required to travel to various data centres for any modifications that are
required for physical builds.
 Heavily involved in many large customer projects including a recent migration project
for our largest customer, in which I have played a key role and have carried out most
of the migration tasks involved.

Interests
My current career related interests are based on the desire to become an engineer and to
achieve this I have already began to self-teach myself about many new technologies and
intend to put myself forward for as many examinations as possible.
My personal interests revolve around learning and applying new skills. My main passion is
music, everything about music, I am a self-taught guitarist and have spent the last six years
perfecting my skills. I now play in my own band composing pieces and producing my own
songs.
