This document discusses Net-Map, a participatory mapping tool for identifying change drivers in organizational networks. Net-Map helps make informal networks visible by having stakeholders map out who is involved in an issue, how they are linked, their goals, and their influence. The group process of creating a Net-Map stimulates conversations around a compelling question to make knowledge explicit. It is used to understand how influence operates in networks rather than just hierarchies, in order to examine vulnerabilities and identify key actors driving or resisting change.

Intent: Identifying change drivers in organizations
Solution: informal networks
• Where are these change drivers located?
• Unseen. Often felt
• Dynamic
Ever struck by whispering walls?
4. 4
• Whom do I…?
• How do I…?
• And importantly
• WHY do I…?

What is your compelling question?
Questioning is the key:
Internal change agents: Who influences Scrum
adoption in my organization?
External change agents: What is my entry point?

Stimulating conversations in any setting
• Stakeholder participation – revolving around
the compelling question
• Making knowledge explicit – qualitative
conversations are the heart of the method
