1) Elias Howe invented the first practical sewing machine in 1846, allowing for mass production of clothing.
2) There are three main types of sewing machines: mechanical, electronic, and computerized.
3) Different sewing machines are used for different purposes, such as lock stitch machines for general garment construction, overlock machines for edging, and buttonhole machines for attaching buttons.

#Weft Knitting Machine - Weft Knitting Machines are used to make weft knitted fabrics by just a single yarn.
Types of Knitting Machines
#Warp Knitting Machine - Warp knitting is done by knitting in a zigzag pattern along the fabric area. weft knitting is done by knitting across the fabric, Warp knitting is accomplished by running knits through adjacent walls or columns.
2. Sewing Machine
• A machine with a mechanically driven needle for sewing or

• History of Sewing Machine
• In the early 1800s,clothing was made by hand, families sewed
their pants, shirts and dresses using a needle and thread. But
in 1846 Elias Howe changed all that,he came up with another
way to make clothes,he patended the frist practical sewing
machine. The sewing machine industry based on his original
invention made possible the mass production of clothing on a
much larger scale than had ever been possible with hand
stitching.
3. Types of Sewing Machines
• Each machine makes a basic running stitch the same way, with
two sources of thread. The top needle takes the thread down
into the fabric .It is caught and looped via the bobbin
apparatus and then pulled back up.The ‘‘feed dog’’moves it
along and the next stitch begins.Everything else is different.
• There are three types of machines mainly. They are
