2. Different locations and set ups:
In our teaser trailer we have 5 different main locations. Since it is a
trailer it is important to get as many locations as possible as the purpose
is to give the audience an overview of the film as a whole.
We have a mix of both interior and exterior locations, and the way in
which we have set up each one adds to the mise en scene and bring
what we want to achieve to life. The locations we have chosen to use are
all linked by the fact we are creating a teen drama/thriller. So we have
chosen these specific places to show to the audience that the film
revolves around the lives of teenagers.
The set up, establishes the differences between the characters. We have
also created an over exaggerated stereotype of a teen party.
3. College scenes:
We have two exterior locations in our teaser, both on site in the college. The first
one takes place on the benches, where our main characters are sitting. First we
see Nadia who is sitting alone. For the set p for this seen we simply needed to
film when it was quiet and people were in lessons in order for us to achieve the
look that Nadia is by herself as she has no friends.
This is then contrasted by the Alexa who sites on one of the tables up close to
Nadia but not next to her, with another one of her friends. This set up was to
enable the audience to see the relationship between these characters.
The second location is based outside the priory building, where it simply
establishes the college environment.
4. Bedroom scenes:
Because both girls in our trailer our shown in their bedroom, the mise en scene
for this was very important as we only had one bedroom filming space.
For Alexa's bedroom we decided to get as much red in the room s we could. This
is because this color is significant to this character throughout our teaser. As the
color red connotes to danger and Alexa is essentially the antagonist as far as the
audience knows. We also placed lots of different props around the room such as
placing makeup on the shovels and clothes on the floor.
For Nadia we decided to make her room much more simple and bare, this is to
reflect to the audience the type of person she is.
5. Party scene:
For the party scene we had to try and create something which
seemed realistic yet still be slightly over the top.
We used the living room space in castle field and transformed it into
a party by using light and props and later sound we will hopefully be
able to create the illusion that there are more than it seems.
