This document outlines an activity to investigate how classroom ethos and physical environment can impact student understanding. Participants will read articles on creating a positive learning environment and discuss key components in groups. They will then prioritize these aspects using a Diamond 9 activity. Optional extension tasks include reading about visible learning and watching a video clip. Participants will create an action plan for their own classroom environment and evaluate their understanding of how environment impacts learning.
