This document provides an overview for a new teacher orientation session. It outlines procedural guidelines for the sessions, including signing in and out and procedures for late arrivals or early departures. 3. Learning Targets Know guidelines/procedural expectations for sessions and absences. Review of New Teacher (State of Michigan) requirements Begin to know one another and begin to feel comfortable sharing so that we learn together as a community. Share classroom management strategies – identify personal strengths and challenges. Share strategies to help build effective student and teacher relationships – reflect on personal strengths and challenges.

STANDARD PROCEDURES OF OPERATION Beginning of session: Sign-in Pick up your name badge – please wear it to help us learn each other by name! Pick up handouts on the registration table During Session: Cell phone on vibrate or off Avoid talking when others are talking Share in discussions and/or activities End of session: Clean up after yourself (pick up at your table prior to leaving) Sign-out at the end of the session (Blue form) Return evaluation form in the basket on registration table as you exit
