2. After doing extensive
keyword research, I was able
to come up with a few dozen
terms that people searching
for information in my niche
(in this case search engine
optimization) would be
looking for.

3. I also like to see which
keywords I'm already getting
traffic for... from inside my
Clicky traffic stats... and see if
there are any keywords I can
create a new blog post about.

4. Surprisingly, I was able to
build a list of keywords that
get thousands of searches
every single month but don't
have too much competition.

5. Yes, the keywords do not have
high commercial intent (people
looking to buy something) but
these searchers are interested in
my topic in general and if I find
some that do eventually convert
into subscribers and sales, I can
then focus on those keywords
even more.

6. I like to use the SENuke X Niche
Research Module to find these key
phrases (this tool has been updated
and I'm not sure if the new version,
SENuke XCr, still provides this
feature) because it gives you the
difficulty of the keyword depending
on the number of other web pages
that also rank for it.

7. I then create a quick audio file for
each keyword where I record
myself talking about the
keyword or answering the
question that it raises.

8. After that I try to leverage that
content into different medias as
quickly as possible so that I can
get links with it and also to give
the search engines what they
want, multimedia content.

9. This makes sense because text,
images and video all in the same
post provide a better user
experience that just one media
would. And after all, that is one
of Google's critical goals, to
provide the best user experience
possible while organizing the
world's information.

10. What I do is I take the audio files
and I have them transcribed, or
turned into text, using an
inexpensive but quality service
called Speechpad. If my wife has
some time to help I also ask her
to do the transcribing from time
to time.

11. I then create slides from the text
in a new Powerpoint
presentation.

12. Using Camtasia I record my
screen as I go through the slides,
ultimately creating a video
presentation.

13. I can then upload the video file to
Youtube and Vimeo which allow
clickable links in the description
field.

14. For an image to insert into my post I like
to save the Powerpoint slides as jpegs,
which will save each slide as an
individual image. I take the most
relevant slide, usually the title slide, and
use that one for my blog post (that now
contains video, text and an image).

15. For royalty free images I also like to use
office.microsoft.com/en-us/images.

16. We're not done with the image just yet. After
adding new media in wordress, remember to
change the Alt Text to a version of your main
keyword, aka an LSI version, (please don't use
the same keyword every time) and change the
image link (a field in Wordpress that will
originally contain the link to where the image
is stored) to a page on your website.

17. This will create an image link to your website
with the Alt Text as the Anchor Text. A pretty
sneaky little trick to get various types of links
to your website. And Yes, internal links also
count as links, not just external, inbound links
coming in from other websites.

18. The original audio file is not garbage.
We can then use that and upload it to
podcasting sites like podbeam.

19. If instead you created the text first and
then used Camtasia to record your video
directly, you can strip the audio from the
video using a free online tool that I found
at http://online-convert.com.

screenshot using Snagit
• Step 7: Upload PDF to Scribd

22. Extra Credit
• Create new posts on web 2.0 link wheel
• Social Network Links: using Links Alpha, when you hit
publish, a preview of your blog post will be published on
your social network accounts.
• If your YouTube account is connected to your social
networks, that will also get shared as soon as you upload.
• In Libsyn, once you create a new post that will get
published to your Facebook, Twitter and Blogger
accounts.
