This document outlines the process and criteria for peer reviewing academic papers. It discusses turning in papers for peer review and evaluating them based on a rubric. The rubric includes reviewing the title, abstract, introduction, body, conclusion, sources, and general writing. For each section, it provides details on what should be included and evaluated.  Reflect the main idea of the manuscript

7. Abstract
 Brief (usually 150-250 words)
 Comprehensive summary
 Non-evaluative (report rather than
evaluate; do not include anything new)
 Describes the topic, scope, sources
reviewed, and conclusions

8. Introduction
 Gives a clear statement of the problem and
reasons for studying it
 Describes the scope and limits of the review
 Gives concise, appropriate background discussion
of the problem
 States how this work differs from or is related to
work previously published
 Is generally one or two paragraphs in length

9. Body
 Outlines what has been done before by citing
pertinent literature; semi-relevant literature should
not be included
 Organized in a logical fashion with clearly
structured subsections, including a logical flow
between subsections
 Analysis/critique of sources is evident
 Concepts and issues of various sources
synthesized, rather than individually reported

10. Headings (Subsections)
 Logical, consistent
 Define the “skeleton” of your work

11. Conclusion
 Summarize main points
