• Objective: to develop VCA algorithms that are suitable for big data

sensors/actuators ready to support sustainable transport

7. Aim and Objectives of the Project
• Recently, the concept of “Smart City” emerging to achieve more
efficient & sustainable cities
• The proposed project aiming to provide a bundle of components
essential to building such systems
• These components mainly including sort of embedded devices
organizable into collections of distributed sensors & actuators,
known in general as Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) within the
Internet of Things (IoT) concept
• Three categories of such devices proposed:
i. data analysis algorithms with especially emphasised category of Visual
Content Analysis (VCA) ones
ii. decision support algorithms to be used to implement management procedures
in selected areas of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)
iii. general principles, recommendations & specifications describing designing &
organising rules of efficient & sustainable ITS systems
