Lyndsey Middleton is a PhD student at Edinburgh Napier University. Her research aims to create a framework explaining the development of innovative work behavior through workplace learning and the factors that influence this relationship. So far, her findings show that innovative work behavior can be conceptualized as a process of workplace learning and that mistakes in learning can lead to employee-led innovation. Her research also explores how organizational contexts and employee characteristics can influence innovative work behavior development related to workplace learning. Her next steps include quantitative data analysis to explore national innovation factors across Europe and case studies of organizations to investigate differences in innovative work behavior development.
