Modern medicine relies on inductive reasoning and probabilistic research rather than deductive reasoning from fundamental scientific principles. This leads to uncertainties and probabilities rather than logical conclusions. Drug development is focused on rather than understanding and reversing the root causes of disease. Evidence from clinical trials only shows uncertain benefits and risks of interventions rather than proving the scientific validity of reversing disease. True scientific medicine would be based on understanding disease causation and applying principles to restore health.

2. SCIENTIFICITY
• Scientificity refers to core rationality, precision , transparency and systematicity of
innate logics and principles of the concerned knowledge system.
• The term science originates from “ Scientia” in Latin which refers to a knowledge
system with characteristics of precision and certainity.
• Science incorporates knowledge which can describe, predict and control natural
phenomena with biological plausibility , cause effect relationship
• Science explains HOW and WHY of any natural phenomenon and therefore
scientific method must be the method to explore HOW AND WHY based on the
logics in science
• The objectives of scientificity are clarity and objectivity
3. RESEARCH
• Research is a systematic way to deepen the existing knowledge as well as to
improve the accuracy of application of knowledge .
• Research is an endeavour to build confidence in medical profession and for this
reason every medical professional is to be an honest researcher.
• Research is an endeavour to examine and verify truths in the phenomenon
subjected to study and what is explored as causal will have to be verified by other
researchers to approve or disapprove logics
• It is a misbelief today that medical research is only discarding old and discovering
new . Research can be to verify the logics of ancient or modern sciences in
contemporary situations and confirm truth.
• Research methodology is meant to be a systematic way to find out an ultimate
solution or paths to the solution for the problem.
4. THE RESEARCH PROBLEM
• The research problem to be addressed in Medical research is not deficiency of drugs , the
real problem is ailment in man .
• Hence in-order to solve the problem, the problem itself is to be made as prime objective
and not new drug development as any effective solution to the problem will emerge by a
deep analysis of the cause and circumstances of the problem itself in its unique
environment and not by serendipity drug molecule discovery.
• Settled science of man ( Ayurveda) possess fundamental logics to understand the nature of
disease , its cause mechanisms , its evolution and progress and methods of resolution back
to health.
• Scientific medicine guides the researcher to probe into the problem in its natural setting to
emerge natural solutions with or without need for medication
5. MODERN MEDICINE
• A compendium of probabilistic research data of drugs and interventions which are
intended to produce more benefits and less harm in the moment based on an
observational ( empirical study) in a limited population conducted for a limited
period
• The drug molecule/ intervention is the entire focus of study and neither the patient
nor the pattern of behaviour of disease in his body
• The objective of study is drug approval and not reversal of disease
• The statistical evidence of benefit risk of drugs is not at all a scientific (logical)
evidence to substantiate the intended effect of reversal of disease and emerging
health in the subject but yet it is projected as scientific evidence
• Original scientific evidence of solution is intended to be working to identify and
reverse the cause mechanisms of disease and emerge health in man.
6. UNCERTAINITY AND PROBABILITY
• As inductive reasoning is applied in Modern Medicine , scientific method begins
from unknown and sails through unknown ending up in uncertainity and probability
• Deductive reasoning in research ( General to specific) is possible only in
deterministic sciences like Mathematics, Physics and Ayurveda where fundamental
knowledge base for exploration of a natural situation/ phenomena of man/ universe
is available which comprises of theorems, laws and principles and not based on
unsettled theories and hypothesis.
• Aleatory (non reproducible results) and epistemic ( lack of established science to
guide) uncertainities are the main problem in so called scientific research of Modern
Medicine and hence logical conclusions are never possible.
7. CRITICAL APPRAISAL OF MODERN MEDICINE –
SUMMARY
• Modern Medicine is Medicine ( Drug – unknown) Applied and not Science ( of man)
applied to resolve a problem.
• The logics intended to choose drugs are masking , blocking, suppressing and altering or
supplementing and not quickly identifying , understanding and reversing the problem.
• “Do no Harm” is their motto but that is not possible by the above means as benefits by
sort of adjustment are always accompanied by risks and therefore not to be addressed as
treatment, rather only adjustment.
• Unethical application of unsettled drugs in man is encouraged in the label of “modernity”
but mere modernity does not necessarily mean validity in research
• Analytic reductionism in diagnosis and treatment is spoiling the integrity of body structures
and their interconnected functions to a great extent
8. CRITICAL APPRAISAL OF MODERN MEDICINE – SUMMARY
• Data collection, classification , analysis and interpretation of Trial and error
application of unknown drugs can only SHOW and not KNOW . Research is
originally meant to KNOW THE TRUTH and not merely SHOW SOME
UNCERTAINITY DATA . Inductive reasoning can never explore truth no matter in any
period.
• Evidence Based Medicine must be originally “medicine based on evidence” from
science which explains HOW , WHY, WHAT, WHEN and WHERE of the medicine in
the particular clinical situation of the individual subject and not “trial and error data
of the unknown drug” intended to do some adjustment ( blocking, masking etc) in
the population”.
• Scientific Medicine is Science Based Medicine/ Treatment and NEVER benefit risk
data oriented unknown compound / adjustment
