Analysis Of The Movie Trudy Chacon
TRUDY CHACON
Trudy Chacon, portray by Michelle Rodrigues, was a confident SecOps pilot for the RDA. Her
primary task was to pilot a Samson that was used for transportation and for battle. She lived in
Pandora when she first appeared in the movie and had already been serving for the RDA two years
when she met Jake Sulley. Shortly after she met Jake she was thrust into leadership role in the take
down of the RDA. Trudy also flew the trio to a temporary science station in the Hallelujah Mountains,
known as Site 26, when Dr. Augustine wanted to continue her research away from Hell s Gate and
military personnel (wikia.com).
Trudy met Jake Sully soon after he arrived at Hell s Gate in 2154. One day the two along with Norm
Spellman and Dr. Grace Augustine went on an expedition deep into a Pandoran forest. Trudy stayed
behind with Lyle Wainfleet to guard the Samson. During the expedition Jake went missing and she
helped search for him. As it became night Colonel Quaritch saw that it was too dangerous for Jake s
avatar and called off the search She joined Jake Sulley, Na ve and the Omaticaya clan.
When the RDA attacked the Hometree, Trudy refused to join in the assault and broke out of combat
formation to return to base just after the first salvo. Disillusioned, after refusing to fire on Hometree
her statement was, I didn t sign up for this shit. She then effectively switched allegiance in the midst
of conflict. Another example of her being a leader was when she was able to

Technology And Its Impact On The Medical Field
In the world we live in today technology is always advancing; having many great effects in our
personal lives and in the medical field, one of which being the technical advances on magnetic
resonance imaging (MRI). MRIs have been a great resource for us to use to help diagnose people in a
way we have never been able to before. A magnetic resonance imaging scan uses a large magnet, radio
waves, and a computer to create a detailed cross sectional image of the patient s internal organs and
structures, (Lam). Being able to examine patients in a noninvasive way and take pictures of what their
organs look like is a huge medical advance proving to us that we can help diagnose more people in a
less harmful way and are able to treat them faster and give them a better prognosis. But we cannot
forget what came before the MRI, which was nuclear resonance imaging (NMR). NMR is the key
piece to magnetic resonance imaging and if it weren t for the discovery of NMR and it s many uses we
wouldn t have MRI scanners. The evolution of MRIs has left a profound impact on the scientific
community, particularly in the field of medicine. Before bringing up the topic of MRI scanners it
would be useful to have some background information on the science behind it all. Starting with
nuclear resonance imaging, what it is, the discovery itself, and how it became relevant to the topic of
MRI scanners. NMR spectroscopy is the use of NMR phenomena to study the physical, chemical, and

Family Systems Theory Analysis
Family Theories
As an Advanced Practice Nurse there will usually be a certain course of action that takes place when a
patient comes in and describes a problem they are having physically, but there are many different
ways in which that patient will take that course of action. This paper will discuss two different
theories, the Social Learning theory and the Family Systems theory, with the intent that the person
may change the way they look at the prescribed action and why.
The Social Learning theory was created by Albert Bandura in 1971 and is an effective way to engage
all types of different people and help them to acclimate to the learning environment (Williams, 2017).
The social learning theory uses modeling as the focal point of the theory. ... Show more content on

Another weakness is that the social learning theory doesn t take into account that what one person may
perceive as a punishment, another may see as a reward.
The Family Systems theory is the second theory that I will be discussing. The Family Systems theory
created by Dr.Murray Bowen and Dr. Michael Kerr and states that the family is an emotional unit and
that the members of the family are connected emotionally (Haefner, 2014). In the Family systems
theory there are eight concepts that the author uses: triangles, differentiation of s elf, nuclear family
emotional process, family projection process, multigenerational transmission process, emotional
cutoff, sibling position and societal emotional process (Kerr, Bowen, 1988).
Within these eight concepts are different ways in which the family operates emotionally within the
unit. When the family is cohesive and cooperative the unit is secure, but when tension mounds, this
can lead to problems and the emotional connectedness of the family becomes stressed (Kerr, Bowen,
1988). The eight concepts in the Family systems theory can either be separate or interlocking
depending on the heightened tension and situation. Some common examples of the concepts
interlocking include: depression, alcoholism, affairs, or physical illness (Kerr, Bowen,

Ludwig Van Beethoven And Ludwig Van Beethoven s Nine...
Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and Pianist of
German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important figure in the change
between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven showed musical talent a
young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer Christian Gottlob Neefe were his
teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna and he taught him about composition.
During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing and this progressed until he was almost
totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped performing in public and chose to focus on
composing and during this time he wrote some of his best compositions. Beethoven passed away on
March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first
monument ever of a composer. The nine symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1.
Symphony No. 1 Symphony No. 1 was a dedication to Beethoven s early patron named Baron
Gottfried Van Swieten. Hoffmeister and Kuhnel of Leipzig published the symphony in 1801. The
symphony is in C major, opus number 21 and was composed between 1795 to 1801. Symphony No. 1
is influenced by Beethoven s teacher Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart but has features
that make it stand out as Beethoven s work. The opening of the Symphony took place on April 2,
1800, in Vienna. Performance of the symphony takes about 22 to 29 minutes. 2. Symphony No. 2
Symphony No. 2 is in four movements and was written between 1801 to 1802. The symphony is in D
major opus number 36 and is a dedication to Karl Alois, Prince Lichnowsky. This symphony was
written during the time Beethoven s deafness was becoming distinct and he was starting to realize it
may not be cured. Beethoven was residing in Heiligenstadt in 1802.The symphony was first
performed on April 5, 1803, in the Theatre an der Wien in Vienna. A performance can take 33 to 36
minutes. 3. Symphony No. 3 This symphony is in E flat major opus number 55. The symphony is also
known as Sinfonia Eroica in Italian or Heroic Symphony. The symphony is one of Beethoven s lauded
works. Eroica was composed between 1803 to 1804 and it marked

killing Shane in volume 1 because he didn t know how popular The Walking Dead would become

always a special prominence of each episode. By watching the TV series, the audiences understand
why he becomes Rick s opponent as the change is step by step than in the comics. The writers make
use of this chance to explore more with Shane and the audiences get to see him spiral rapidly out of
control. For instance, at the start of season 2 Shane leaves Otis, a neighborhood of Hershel Greene, to

What Is The Theme Of Poverty In Charles Dickens
England was rapidly becoming urban society. But in spite of wealth created by industrialization,
people still suffer from poverty. There are many factories but in a miserable state, low wages and
harsh conditions. Industrial Revolution creates a middle class (neither rich nor poor). The
irresponsible of practices of social institutions, as well as the evasion and abuses of responsibility by
individuals, a reality which expresses the general atmosphere of man s isolation and disintegration.
Some novelists, like Dickens has revealed the world of the poor class in his novels and reinforced his
novels with factual details [ that ] .. really shocked the novel readers. 20 of his time. The theme of
Poverty is one of the main problems that Charles Dickens focuses on and attempts to draw attention of
his readers to. Poverty is a serious and economic problem of English society of the late 19th century.
This is why Dickens, chooses it as one of the main themes of his novel and also tries to describe the
appearance of the poor people. They are not human but they look like animals. The man s face was
thin and very pale; his hair and beard were grizzly, and his eyes were bloodshot. The old woman s face

The crime against the child, 21 as Dorothy Van Ghent suggests is a theme which arrests Dickens s
attention as early as his second novel, Oliver Twist. What is to be noted in tracing Dickens s treatment
of this theme is that Oliver s suffering is primarily physical and external, but Dickens s later vision of
childhood suffering shows interest in human psychology. Alex Zwerdling maintains that, by the time
Dickens has written Dombey and Son, he has become more interested in the child deprived of love
than food and shelter.

Perks Of Being A Wallflower Analysis
In both Steven Chbosky and J.D. Salinger s coming of age novels The Perks of Being a Wallflower
and The Catcher in the Rye both authors successfully explore the idea of entering adulthood as an
outsider. The Perks of Being a Wallflower follows a fifteen year old boy, Charlie. Charlie has recently
lost his best friend Michael to suicide and is struggling to come to terms with his death. He is in his
freshman year of high school and struggles to fit in socially, until he meets a group of seniors who
take him under their wing and introduce him to a world he could never imagine. Written in the form of
a series of letters to an anonymous recipient, Chbosky allows the audience to have an in depth
perception of Charlies mind and his struggles with mental illness. Similarly, with The Catcher in the
Rye, the story is narrated by a young man called Holden. Holden is also known as an outsider who
struggles to fit in socially and struggles with mental health issues. Salinger explores the ideas of the
struggles of growing up in a contemporary world. The use of perspective, stylistic features, and
contexts help the authors to convey this idea. This report explores how the authors successfully use
these techniques.
PERSPECTIVE (what is the culture of the context? is this/behaviours typical of the contextual
culture?)
In both novels, first person narration is used in order to give an in depth perspective of the main
characters, Holden and Charlie. The Perks of Being a Wallflower is

Sexualization Of Women In The 21st Century
Will the sexualization of women in advertising campaigns affect the young generation of 21st century
Jaissie Ngan
Digital photography 2015
WRITTEN DISSERTATION
We have become a generation where we rely on certain aspects to help promote an advertisement. This
can range from racism, feminism, sexism, ageism and even possibly religion, homophobia; the list can
go on and on. This may concern very few people or many people; they may find it offensive or
disturbing.
Adverts have been around for hundreds of years, and have since developed hugely as technology has
enabled us to advance even more. Adverts have developed from illustration with text in the early 1700
s to large high definition photograph/illustration on billboard or TV advertisements with high
definition. (Adage, website, 1999) Advertising in the 21st century doesn t just stop at billboards and
TV advertisements. We have now gone onto using every space available to us to advertise, we are
surrounded by adverts, or even advertisements surrounds us. Its endless, everywhere we go, we see
adverts posted on a wall or on websites that we visit.
Shock advertising or the term shockvertising is used to draw the public attention to deliberately make
then stop and think about the advert they are seeing or have seen. This is where the controversy starts.
For shock advertising to work effectively it has to display something that is distressful or disturbing so
that the public will stop to look and think about at the

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Die Casting
1. Hot tear is an irreversible failure or crack formed in casting. It is commonly related to the
inadequate compensation of solidification shrinkage by melt flow with the occurrence of thermal
stresses. Controlling the right pouring temperature, prevention of rapid changes in section and
consistency in cooling rates can be done as remedies to this phenomenon.
2. Die Casting is a manufacturing process that can create geometrically complex metal parts by using
conveniently reusable molds that are commercially referred to as dies.
Processes:
 Clamping clean the earlier injection and then apply oil to ease the application of the next process
 Injection manage the temperature for the molten metal in the furnace in preparation for its delivery

7. A sprue ought to be tapered in order to minimize if not prevent the occurrence of vortex. It can be
used to scatter the kinetic energy of the dropping stream and avoid splashing and turbulence as the
metal is subjected to spinning in the runner.
8. Defects of die casting are as follows:
a. Shrinkage defects happens when thick metal hardens because of the unavailability of standard feed
material.
b. Gas porosity bubble formation present on the cast after cooling process.
c. Mold shift commonly happens at the final line when parts of the cast are misassembled.
d. Rough surface finish phenomena wherein too much fluidity of the metal is occurs and hard pouring
takes place.
Usage of proper mold of sad, perfect placement of feeders and uniform pattern alignment are ways on
how these abovementioned defects can be prevented.
9. Die Casting Advantages:
 Remarkable finished outcomes
 Accurate dimensional

Duty of Loyalty:
Definition:
It is a term of corporate law used to describe a corporate fiduciary s honesty to the companies interest.
https://www.google.com.pk/#q=duty%20of%20loyalty%20definition It is a most important duty of
fiduciary duty. The decision makers within the company should act in the interests of the company.
The easiest way to observe with this duty is not to engage in transactions that involve a dispute of
interest. We often call these self dealing transactions. The concept is that the directors are dealing with
the selves, and may not reach an agreement that is fair to the company. An alternative, that is accepted
in most countries because a flat ban on self dealing transactions can be impractical, especially for
smaller firms, is to have self dealing transactions approved by a uninterested decision maker. That
decision maker can be uninterested directors, uninterested shareholders or sometimes both.
In the United States, if a conflict of interest transaction is negotiated and approved by the uninterested
directors, in a manner that be near to arms length negotiations, including the right of the uninterested
directors to reject the transaction altogether, the transaction is accepted unless a

The Death Of Andrew Dickinson And Andrew Jackson Kills
Jackson and Dickinson were rival horse breeders and southern plantation owners with a long standing
hatred of each other. Dickinson accused Jackson of reneging on a horse bet, calling Jackson a coward
and an equivocator. Dickinson also called Rachel Jackson a bigamist. (Rachel had married Jackson not
knowing her first husband had failed to finalize their divorce.) After the insult to Rachel and a
statement published in the National Review in which Dickinson called Jackson a worthless scoundrel
and, again, a coward, Jackson challenged Dickinson to a duel.
On May 30, 1806, Jackson and Dickinson met at Harrison s Mills on the Red River in Logan,
Kentucky. At the first signal from their seconds, Dickinson fired. Jackson received Dickinson s first
bullet in the chest next to his heart. Jackson put his hand over the wound to staunch the flow of blood
and stayed standing long enough to fire his gun. Dickinson s seconds claimed Jackson s first shot
misfired, which would have meant the duel was over, but, in a breach of etiquette, Jackson re cocked
the gun and shot again, this time killing his opponent. Although Jackson recovered, he suffered
chronic pain from the wound for the remainder of his life ( Andrew Jackson Kills ). Andrew Jackson
was well known for his hot temper and his reckless ways. He was an honorbound man who was quick
to take offence, especially with any slur against his wife, he was the beloved war hero, and the
common people s man. Born in March of 1767, he

The style of cut string stairs I chose is in Victorian style as it s the most common historical style been

western world dating back as far as the 1830s. The exact stairs I propose to reproduce is the stairs

I plan on finishing these stairs in a spray lacquer finish. I think this type of finish would be best as its
hard wearing and easy to apply coat after coat. A spray lacquer finish is quick drying so it is does not
take long before many coats can be applied. Context and Rational Regulations in today s joinery
design can affect how some aspects of joinery cannot be exactly reproduced. The main area in joinery
were this is relevant is in stair design because for example older stair designs would have had bigger
risers which does not comply with modern regulations. This can take from the original look of the
stairs but to comply with regulations stairs are reproduced in measurements that comply with
regulations. However when replacing a traditional style windows it can be by regulation to replace it
with pieces of exact dimensions to keep with the previous style. Regulations on the design and
geometry of external joinery are the strictest area as and windows are considered the eyes of the
building. So essentially the reasons for regulations on stair design is due to that they have a everyday
practical use and need to be safe as a lot of accidents in the home are from falling down stairs. Another
main area where this has implications on stair design is the regulation with the gap between balusters

Discipline and Students with Disabilities Essay
Public Law 94 142: The Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975, now called Individuals
with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), requires states to provide free, appropriate public education
(FAPE) for every child regardless of disability. This federal law was the first to clearly define the
rights of disabled children to receive special education services if their disability affects their
educational performance. A parent of a special education student also has basic rights under IDEA
including the right to have their child evaluated by the school district and to be included when the

If these students were placed in a regular classroom, they were often functionally excluded, when no
support was provided for the child or the teacher. In addition, many students were misclassified
following inaccurate assessment, placement or tracking. These past practices have been deemed in
violation of a student s constitutional rights. As a result, IDEA now requires that the educational
program that is developed by the IEP team provide the child with opportunities in the least restrictive
environment (LRE). LRE is the most normal setting that is possible for the student. The team should
take several things into consideration when making this determination. First, they must compare the
benefits in the regular class and the benefits in the special class. The U.S. Court of Appeals
determined that the appropriateness of placement in the regular classroom is not dependent on the
student s ability to learn the same things the other students learn in the regular classroom. The benefit
of social interaction should also be taken into account. Second, consideration should be given to the
potentially beneficial or harmful effects that placement in the regular classroom may have on the
students involved. Finally, cost should be considered when determining the appropriateness of student
placement. On occasion, a parent may disagree with the school district s identification or

Different cultures tattoo for different reasons like, protection, rank in society, adornment of the body
and coming of age. Regardless of why people are tattooed, they have been tattooing since before the
birth of Christ. Throughout history tattooing has served many purposes. The earliest evidence of
tattooing was found in 1991 in the mountains of Austria. An Iceman was found, his bones dated back
to 3,300 B.C. which is over 5300 years ago. His skin had signs of blue tattoos. The scientists did not

Tribal tattoos have been used for many reasons. They were used to promote a relationship with a god,
and to help then get to the proper spirit world. Tribes also thought that tattoos would give them an
advantage when they arrive to the spirit world. Most of the primitive tribes used some form of tattoos,
scarification or body painting. For the Samoan men tattooing was a right of passage to manhood.
Typical the men were tattooed on the inner and outer thigh area to look like clothing. If a boy did not
have the tattoos they were not given the same respect as a man with tattoos. They could not speak;
they could not marry and were not allow doing certain jobs. When missionaries arrived in Polynesian
lands they tried to get the Samoans to refrain from tattooing because Christianity frowned upon it. The
missionaries wanted the Samoans to live by Christ word but instead they added it to their culture. To
this day tattooing is highly respected in the Samoans culture. In Tonga is where the Samoans and the
Polynesians tattooed. Tattooing was a way of life to the Polynesians, they were tattooing even before
the Europeans came to the South Pacific. The Polynesians and Samoans had some of the most skillful
and intricate tattoos in the entire world. The tattoos typically stood for their religious beliefs and for
warfare. Most of their tattoos were geometric shapes. They were tattooed in a way so they could

A Story Of A Story
I am who I am. I talk to each and every one of you everyday. I promise you that you know me well. I
will tell you a story that takes place in a particular town, where as strange as it was, no one left, and no
one entered it. It existed just as you and I did, breathing, living, and suffering. A scream escaped Rue s
lips, when she awoke from her dream, as her hollow gray eyes darted back and forth, confirming her
surroundings. Her arms ached from a memory of excessive pain from being beaten by her father in the
dark basement of her large home. She was beaten for being smart, silly, or kind with her friends she
had made, years ago. She wanted to be an author, but her father thought otherwise, and gave much
disapprobation towards her. He wanted her to become business woman. In fact, it was all she could
remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the
starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way
through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque
tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her
dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet.
In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled
drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over,
seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face
would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang
out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do
was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn
t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was
meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her
petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Rue, wait, I have a

Sankofa Identity Essay
In his 1993 independent film Sankofa, Haile Gerima worked to dispel Hollywood s negative
stereotypes and interpretations of the black experience. Gerima s consciousness of American race
divide and prejudice helped him create some of the themes in Sankofa, the biggest being African
American s self identity. Gerima saw that in the United States, a person s place in society was based
on the color of his or her skin, thus creating a negative relationship between African American s and
their identities. Gerima explores the theme of black self identity in Sankofa through three characters,
Mona, Nunu, and Joe, using each one to show how the different levels of awareness of African culture
can affect a person s life.
Gerima uses the character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nunu is a slave, who unlike Shola, is not born into slavery, but rather taken from Africa and forced
into slavery. This gives Nunu a different belief about her identity than Mona. Nunu is a proud African
woman who wants to go back to Africa. On the plantation, she is seen as the spiritual center because
she is still spiritually connected to her homeland. On the plantation, Nunu tells African stories to Shola
and the other slaves, and even says that someday they will fly in the air and be home. Nunu s character
is Gerima s way of showing the importance of knowing and being proud of ones identity. Despite
being taken from her home, raped, and forced into slavery, Nunu never forgets who she is and where
she comes from, something many Africans, both then and now, forgot. Gerima included Nunu in
Sankofa to show to African American viewers, both young and old, the importance of always
remembering where their African heritage. Gerima argues that because his place in American society
is defined by skin color and that Hollywood makes African Americans out to be the other, Africans not
only need to be aware of their heritage, but also embrace and be proud of

Final Reaction
In the beginning of this film, it appears these men were struggling to be truthful and honest. They
were making sure it was a safe place to do so. They all came to discuss their experiences and learn
from other men s experiences. As the film went on I was impressed by their ability to continue to talk
about the hard topics related to racism in our country. They all took many risks to explain their
experience and question when other members thoughts were inaccurate within the group setting. After
watching the rest of the color of fear I have seen a big change in everyone in the group, especially
David Christensen.
I believe that this film as a whole is so powerful and looks at many different perspectives of how
racism and oppression can affect everyone around us. As I mentioned before we all experience
privileges and oppression, but everyone experiences these in different ways as we learned when
reading about the addressing model. By the end of this documentary, we saw so many different types
of oppressions related to within group and between group differences. They were powerful messages
because they explained how both concepts influenced and allowed the cycle of oppression to continue
in our society.
The take home message I received is that racism and prejudice will not stop from having a few
discussions, but this can help to us as a society and as counselors to become more aware of these
concepts.

Summary Of Epilogue To Roslin s Room
Cersei stopped in front of Roslin s door and hesitated for a moment, debating internally whether it
would be better to just go back to her own room and think of some excuse to tell Roslin later or not.
She would probably notice that something was wrong with her mom if she saw Cersei. But despite of

Cersei inhaled and exhaled deeply to try to calm her nerves but it only made things worse, and this

Labor Market Flexibility
Labor Market Flexibility is, in theory, the prerogative of employers to hire and subsequently fire
workers without oversight, or the regard for regulation and/or influence of work unions (Marmot
Wilkinson, 2006). The thought process behind this idea is that firms are more likely to increase their
workforce, and that a greater portion of society can be employed. Through my experience in watching
the financial industry and business oriented Bloomberg News channel on Television, the model of
having less regulatory oversight and influences from outside sources brings down the operating costs
of companies and corporations, thereby allowing for greater investments by said firms, presumably, to
hire more people. As indicated by (Marmot Wilkinson, 2006), individuals with higher levels of job
insecurity are thought to be more enticed to work harder than others, so this labor market model would
be followed by an uptick in population wide productivity levels. This would thereby lead to an

Stereotypes refer to the beliefs that make up the characteristics, attributes, and behaviors of members
within a specific group (Whitley, 2016). While stereotypes can serve as a way to make quick
judgements based on what we perceive, they can negatively affect those who are stereotyped.
Stereotypes regardless if they are good or bad can create harmful consequences by attributing
characteristics to people that simply aren t true. Many forms of racism and stereotyping pertaining to
Asian Americans are often neglected and require further attention to have these issues addressed
properly (Tummala Narra, 2018). These neglected forms of racism can potentially affect the physical
well being and mental health of Asian Americans.

The Good Soldier
Wislawa Szymborska once said, In every tragedy, an element of comedy is preserved. Comedy is just
a tragedy reversed . Ford Madox Ford s, The Good Soldier, is an example of a tragedy with comedic
elements contained within it. Respectively, individuals respond differently to comedy. With that said,
It is completely subjective and can be entertaining for some while not amusing for others. Sometimes
comedy can even overpower the seriousness of the writing and damage the material, making a joke
out of it. The Good Soldier, is centered around what is not right with its characters, ultimately taking
away from the seriousness of Ford s writing. It still manages to tell a compelling life story of its main
characters, however, the comedy subtly and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is Dowell whose narration transforms Edward, Leonora, and Florence into tragic characters whose
fates we might feel sorrow. However, at each seemingly tragic moment, the narration seems to stop for
a moment and not take such a serious tone. An example of this would be when Dowell s wife,
Florence, commits suicide. As Dowell appears to be handling it surprisingly well and the reader might
question just how much Dowell was loved his wife. Often times, this close of a death can leave the
other spouse devastated, but Dowell does not appear to be at all. In fact his response is such: I felt no
sorrow, no desire for action, no inclination to go upstairs and fall upon the body of my wife (Ford 62).
Dowell s lack of compassion for his dead wife leaves the reader almost indifferent to the fact that
Florence committed suicide. If Dowell expressed more concern over the fact that his wife was dead,
instead of imagining other women whom which he can marry, perhaps then can the reader feel
empathy for Dowell and his tragic loss. How can a person, several hours after his wife s death, be

Fibromyalgia is hell on earth for the millions of those suffering around the world, and while there is
finally new research into this insidious disease, many questions remain unanswered. For instance
fibromyalgia was labeled as fibrositis, (First labeled by Gowers in 1904), and later rheumatism, etc,
until the American College of Rheumatology agreed in 1990 to diagnostic criteria, (11 or more
specific tender points throughout body.)
What causes fibromyalgia? The history of fibromyalgia is truly very sad as this disease although very
old has only recently received the attention needed to find the cause. Additional historical facts
regarding fibromyalgia include:
1) Historically fibromyalgia has been considered either a neuropsychiatric or musculoskeletal
condition.
2) Additional early names for fibromyalgia included muscular rheumatism, psychogenic rheumatism,
and neurasthenia among others.
3) The term fibromyalgia came from researcher Mohammed Yunis as a synonym for fibrositis, and
was first used in 1981.
4) In 1987 an article first used

Ige Antibodies Live On The Surface Of Cells
IgE antibodies live on the surface of cells that are specifically designed to be involved in the
inflammatory response, mast cells and basophils. Mast cells are found predominantly in your surface
tissues (tissues close to the external environment) such as in your skin and in the mucous membranes
of your nose. Once the IgE has attached itself to an allergen, it sets off a series of events within the
cells that lead to degranulation, which is the process that releases molecules from vesicles that
regulate immune responses. Amongst these molecules is histamine.
According to Nordqvist (2015), histamine causes effects on the body by binding to histamine
receptors. There are four types of histamine receptors, H1 H4, but the main receptor ... Show more

Another symptom caused by histamines, shortness of breath and asthmatic like wheezing, when
smooth muscles contract in the airways.
Antihistamines alleviate the effects of histamine on the body, hence their name antihistamine. Taking
an antihistamine drug such as Claritin, Allegra, or Zyrtec prevents these effects. The drug races to the
H1 receptor and competes with the histamine. The histamine cannot bind wherever the drug binds,
therefore the histamine can t cause any irritating effects. It s always better to take an antihistamine
drug before you come into contact with an allergen. That way the antihistamine will have a higher
chance of binding to to the receptor than the histamine does. Antihistamines usually don t have side
effects but drowsiness is one side effect that is hard to avoid. When an antihistamine crosses the BBB,
or blood brain barrier, that exists between the circulatory system and the nervous system to stop
random molecules from getting into the brain and causing untold havoc (U.S. National Library of
Medicine, 2002) drowsiness occurs.
The first generation of antihistamine drugs, such as diphenhydramine, crossed the BBB almost
effortlessly and once they had crossed it sedation would set it. However newer antihistamines, known
as second generation antihistamines, have been modified to prevent them crossing the BBB as easily.
However, a new study indicates that the newer generation antihistamines tested caused daytime

Heidegger s Experiment , some of the story is told from a third person point of view. This is
significant for one quote in particular, There was a healthful suffusion on their cheeks, instead of the
ashen hue that had made them look so corpse like (Hawthorne 3). This is significant because an
outsider is telling us there is a change. He has no bias in this situation, yet he notices a physical
change after they drank the elixir. This proves that this could not be a placebo effect, and that the elixir
is real. Another piece of vital evidence to support that the elixir is real, is that the four test subjects
plan to find the Fountain of Youth . They resolved forthwith to make a pilgrimage to Florida, and
quaff at morning, noon, and night, from the Fountain of Youth (Hawthorne 5). This shows that the four
test subjects want to feel young all the time. If the elixir was not real, they would not be so desperate
to find the source. The change that they felt was so invigorating, that they want it all the time. This
shows the true power of the elixir, further proving that it is real, and it

Rhetorical Analysis Of Dorothy Samuels Wrong On Gun Rights
The Second Amendment of the United States Constitution entitles citizens the right to possess and
bear arms; which has continually been an important issue for decades. Gun control is not just one
concern, but rather many, within a common category. One may consider gun control a crime issue,
while to others it may be a rights issue. Inside each and every issue, there are particular people who
want more gun control legislation, and those who want less. Dorothy Samuels does a phenomenal job
of portraying her stand on gun control through the use of ethos, logos, and pathos, in her article,
Wrong on Gun Rights . Samuels utilizes the rhetorical strategies in order to persuade the audience into
agreeing with her views. Dorothy Samuels view on gun control is illustrated in a handful of ways in
the article Wrong on Gun Rights . Her first important point informs and educates her audience of the
hazards of courts permitting second amendment rights as well as revoking bans on guns. This point
was also used to mention and elaborate on lawsuits involving the misuse of guns, which were handled
by the courts. Another significant point Samuels made was that US citizens should be advised of the

Virtuoso teams aren t similar because they play by a set of rules completely different like the regular

Dr. Allison Brennan touched on various topics about dynamics of social interaction during the process

focusing on what factors influence social development in an individual. Her research on cognitive

where participants collaborate with a friend and sometimes a non friend to answer given questions. To
differentiate interactive and independent effects, Dr. Brennan questioned if two people are superior in

  • 2. Analysis Of The Movie Trudy Chacon TRUDY CHACON Trudy Chacon, portray by Michelle Rodrigues, was a confident SecOps pilot for the RDA. Her primary task was to pilot a Samson that was used for transportation and for battle. She lived in Pandora when she first appeared in the movie and had already been serving for the RDA two years when she met Jake Sulley. Shortly after she met Jake she was thrust into leadership role in the take down of the RDA. Trudy also flew the trio to a temporary science station in the Hallelujah Mountains, known as Site 26, when Dr. Augustine wanted to continue her research away from Hell s Gate and military personnel (wikia.com). Trudy met Jake Sully soon after he arrived at Hell s Gate in 2154. One day the two along with Norm Spellman and Dr. Grace Augustine went on an expedition deep into a Pandoran forest. Trudy stayed behind with Lyle Wainfleet to guard the Samson. During the expedition Jake went missing and she helped search for him. As it became night Colonel Quaritch saw that it was too dangerous for Jake s avatar and called off the search She joined Jake Sulley, Na ve and the Omaticaya clan. When the RDA attacked the Hometree, Trudy refused to join in the assault and broke out of combat formation to return to base just after the first salvo. Disillusioned, after refusing to fire on Hometree her statement was, I didn t sign up for this shit. She then effectively switched allegiance in the midst of conflict. • 3. Technology And Its Impact On The Medical Field In the world we live in today technology is always advancing; having many great effects in our personal lives and in the medical field, one of which being the technical advances on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). MRIs have been a great resource for us to use to help diagnose people in a way we have never been able to before. A magnetic resonance imaging scan uses a large magnet, radio waves, and a computer to create a detailed cross sectional image of the patient s internal organs and structures, (Lam). Being able to examine patients in a noninvasive way and take pictures of what their organs look like is a huge medical advance proving to us that we can help diagnose more people in a less harmful way and are able to treat them faster and give them a better prognosis. But we cannot forget what came before the MRI, which was nuclear resonance imaging (NMR). NMR is the key piece to magnetic resonance imaging and if it weren t for the discovery of NMR and it s many uses we wouldn t have MRI scanners. The evolution of MRIs has left a profound impact on the scientific community, particularly in the field of medicine. Before bringing up the topic of MRI scanners it would be useful to have some background information on the science behind it all. Starting with nuclear resonance imaging, what it is, the discovery itself, and how it became relevant to the topic of MRI scanners. • 5. Family Systems Theory Analysis Family Theories As an Advanced Practice Nurse there will usually be a certain course of action that takes place when a patient comes in and describes a problem they are having physically, but there are many different ways in which that patient will take that course of action. This paper will discuss two different theories, the Social Learning theory and the Family Systems theory, with the intent that the person may change the way they look at the prescribed action and why. The Social Learning theory was created by Albert Bandura in 1971 and is an effective way to engage all types of different people and help them to acclimate to the learning environment (Williams, 2017). The social learning theory uses modeling as the focal point of the theory. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another weakness is that the social learning theory doesn t take into account that what one person may perceive as a punishment, another may see as a reward. The Family Systems theory is the second theory that I will be discussing. The Family Systems theory created by Dr.Murray Bowen and Dr. Michael Kerr and states that the family is an emotional unit and that the members of the family are connected emotionally (Haefner, 2014). In the Family systems theory there are eight concepts that the author uses: triangles, differentiation of s elf, nuclear family emotional process, family projection process, multigenerational transmission process, emotional cutoff, sibling position and societal emotional process (Kerr, Bowen, 1988). Within these eight concepts are different ways in which the family operates emotionally within the unit. When the family is cohesive and cooperative the unit is secure, but when tension mounds, this can lead to problems and the emotional connectedness of the family becomes stressed (Kerr, Bowen, 1988). The eight concepts in the Family systems theory can either be separate or interlocking depending on the heightened tension and situation. Some common examples of the concepts interlocking include: depression, alcoholism, affairs, or physical illness (Kerr, Bowen, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Beethoven s Nine Symphonies Introduction Ludwig van Beethoven was a composer and Pianist of German origin and he is one of the famous composers to date. He is an important figure in the change between the classical music to Romantic era in Western music. Beethoven showed musical talent a young age and his father Johann Van Beethoven and composer Christian Gottlob Neefe were his teachers. At 21, Joseph Haydn became his teacher in Vienna and he taught him about composition. During his late 20s, Beethoven started to lose his hearing and this progressed until he was almost totally deaf in his last years. In 1881 Beethoven stopped performing in public and chose to focus on composing and during this time he wrote some of his best compositions. Beethoven passed away on March 26, 1827. In August 1845, the Beethoven monument in Bonn was unveiled making it the first monument ever of a composer. The nine symphonies are one of his greatest compositions. 1. The decision makers within the company should act in the interests of the company. The easiest way to observe with this duty is not to engage in transactions that involve a dispute of interest. We often call these self dealing transactions. The concept is that the directors are dealing with the selves, and may not reach an agreement that is fair to the company. An alternative, that is accepted in most countries because a flat ban on self dealing transactions can be impractical, especially for smaller firms, is to have self dealing transactions approved by a uninterested decision maker. That decision maker can be uninterested directors, uninterested shareholders or sometimes both. • 14. The Death Of Andrew Dickinson And Andrew Jackson Kills Jackson and Dickinson were rival horse breeders and southern plantation owners with a long standing hatred of each other. Dickinson accused Jackson of reneging on a horse bet, calling Jackson a coward and an equivocator. Dickinson also called Rachel Jackson a bigamist. (Rachel had married Jackson not knowing her first husband had failed to finalize their divorce.) After the insult to Rachel and a statement published in the National Review in which Dickinson called Jackson a worthless scoundrel and, again, a coward, Jackson challenged Dickinson to a duel. On May 30, 1806, Jackson and Dickinson met at Harrison s Mills on the Red River in Logan, Kentucky. At the first signal from their seconds, Dickinson fired. Jackson received Dickinson s first bullet in the chest next to his heart. Jackson put his hand over the wound to staunch the flow of blood and stayed standing long enough to fire his gun. Dickinson s seconds claimed Jackson s first shot misfired, which would have meant the duel was over, but, in a breach of etiquette, Jackson re cocked the gun and shot again, this time killing his opponent. The U.S. Court of Appeals determined that the appropriateness of placement in the regular classroom is not dependent on the student s ability to learn the same things the other students learn in the regular classroom. The benefit of social interaction should also be taken into account. Second, consideration should be given to the potentially beneficial or harmful effects that placement in the regular classroom may have on the students involved. Finally, cost should be considered when determining the appropriateness of student placement. On occasion, a parent may disagree with the school district s identification or ... Regardless of why people are tattooed, they have been tattooing since before the birth of Christ. Throughout history tattooing has served many purposes. The earliest evidence of tattooing was found in 1991 in the mountains of Austria. An Iceman was found, his bones dated back to 3,300 B.C. which is over 5300 years ago. Tribes also thought that tattoos would give them an advantage when they arrive to the spirit world. Most of the primitive tribes used some form of tattoos, scarification or body painting. For the Samoan men tattooing was a right of passage to manhood. Typical the men were tattooed on the inner and outer thigh area to look like clothing. If a boy did not have the tattoos they were not given the same respect as a man with tattoos. They could not speak; they could not marry and were not allow doing certain jobs. When missionaries arrived in Polynesian lands they tried to get the Samoans to refrain from tattooing because Christianity frowned upon it. The missionaries wanted the Samoans to live by Christ word but instead they added it to their culture. To this day tattooing is highly respected in the Samoans culture. I will tell you a story that takes place in a particular town, where as strange as it was, no one left, and no one entered it. It existed just as you and I did, breathing, living, and suffering. A scream escaped Rue s lips, when she awoke from her dream, as her hollow gray eyes darted back and forth, confirming her surroundings. Her arms ached from a memory of excessive pain from being beaten by her father in the dark basement of her large home. She was beaten for being smart, silly, or kind with her friends she had made, years ago. She wanted to be an author, but her father thought otherwise, and gave much disapprobation towards her. He wanted her to become business woman. In fact, it was all she could remember from her childhood, and now as a 17 year old girl, she lives with her mom who has the starting stages of alzheimer s disease. Rue slipped out the habiliments of her bed, and made her way through the labyrinth of her home, to the bathroom. The wall were draped with red velvet arabesque tapestries, and the floors were always furnished. She went out to school that cold morning, tucking her dyed blue hair behind her ears. In class, she was bullied by Korra and Alex, for being timid and quiet. In math class, Korra stole her notes, and threw them out the window. She even accidently spilled drinks on Rue s clothes. During all this, Rue never said a word, she stayed as always hunched over, seemingly lifeless, until Alex started flirting with Eden. Whenever Eden was around, her dull face would light up, and cheeks began to glow. He d always read stories to her, whenever they would hang out, which made her feel like someone else, that she could be someone else. However all she could do was suppress the tears that began to leak out her eyes, when she sees Eden kiss Alex s cheek. Rue didn t have the power or strength to fight for what she truly wanted in life. She truly believed that she was meant to suffer. Once school ended, Rue began her journey back home, taking small steps with her petite feet. A familiar voice filled with great piquancy called for her saying, Hey! Gerima s consciousness of American race divide and prejudice helped him create some of the themes in Sankofa, the biggest being African American s self identity. Gerima saw that in the United States, a person s place in society was based on the color of his or her skin, thus creating a negative relationship between African American s and their identities. Gerima explores the theme of black self identity in Sankofa through three characters, Mona, Nunu, and Joe, using each one to show how the different levels of awareness of African culture can affect a person s life. This gives Nunu a different belief about her identity than Mona. Nunu is a proud African woman who wants to go back to Africa. On the plantation, she is seen as the spiritual center because she is still spiritually connected to her homeland. On the plantation, Nunu tells African stories to Shola and the other slaves, and even says that someday they will fly in the air and be home. Nunu s character is Gerima s way of showing the importance of knowing and being proud of ones identity. Despite being taken from her home, raped, and forced into slavery, Nunu never forgets who she is and where she comes from, something many Africans, both then and now, forgot. Gerima included Nunu in Sankofa to show to African American viewers, both young and old, the importance of always remembering where their African heritage. They were making sure it was a safe place to do so. They all came to discuss their experiences and learn from other men s experiences. As the film went on I was impressed by their ability to continue to talk about the hard topics related to racism in our country. They all took many risks to explain their experience and question when other members thoughts were inaccurate within the group setting. After watching the rest of the color of fear I have seen a big change in everyone in the group, especially David Christensen. I believe that this film as a whole is so powerful and looks at many different perspectives of how racism and oppression can affect everyone around us. As I mentioned before we all experience privileges and oppression, but everyone experiences these in different ways as we learned when reading about the addressing model. By the end of this documentary, we saw so many different types of oppressions related to within group and between group differences. They were powerful messages because they explained how both concepts influenced and allowed the cycle of oppression to continue in our society. Labor Market Flexibility Labor Market Flexibility is, in theory, the prerogative of employers to hire and subsequently fire workers without oversight, or the regard for regulation and/or influence of work unions (Marmot Wilkinson, 2006). The thought process behind this idea is that firms are more likely to increase their workforce, and that a greater portion of society can be employed. Through my experience in watching the financial industry and business oriented Bloomberg News channel on Television, the model of having less regulatory oversight and influences from outside sources brings down the operating costs of companies and corporations, thereby allowing for greater investments by said firms, presumably, to hire more people. Mast cells are found predominantly in your surface tissues (tissues close to the external environment) such as in your skin and in the mucous membranes of your nose. Once the IgE has attached itself to an allergen, it sets off a series of events within the cells that lead to degranulation, which is the process that releases molecules from vesicles that regulate immune responses.
