Persuasive Essay On Internet
Writing a persuasive essay on the topic of the internet can be both challenging and intriguing.
The internet is a vast and multifaceted subject, encompassing various aspects such as technology,
communication, information dissemination, and societal impacts. Crafting a compelling essay
requires a deep understanding of these complexities and the ability to present a well-reasoned
argument.
One of the difficulties lies in navigating the vast amount of information available on the internet
itself. The irony of researching about the internet on the internet is not lost, as one must sift
through an immense sea of data to find credible sources and relevant information. Additionally,
staying updated on the latest developments in technology, online culture, and internet-related
issues is crucial to providing an informed perspective.
Another challenge is striking the right balance between acknowledging the positive aspects of the
internet and addressing its potential drawbacks. The internet has revolutionized communication,
facilitated global connectivity, and democratized access to information. However, it has also
given rise to concerns such as privacy issues, cyberbullying, and the spread of misinformation. A
well-rounded essay must acknowledge these nuances and present a nuanced argument.
The persuasive element of the essay adds an extra layer of complexity. Convincing the audience
to adopt a particular viewpoint or take a specific action requires not only solid evidence and
logical reasoning but also effective rhetoric. Crafting a persuasive essay on the internet involves
appealing to the reader's emotions, values, and sense of reason to encourage them to see the topic
from a particular perspective.
In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of the internet is a challenging but
rewarding task. It demands a thorough understanding of the subject, the ability to navigate vast
amounts of information, and the skill to craft a compelling argument. However, with careful
research, thoughtful analysis, and persuasive writing techniques, one can create an essay that
engages the reader and encourages them to consider the complexities of the internet in a new
light.

Research Paper On Mouthguards
A big question asked nowadays is Should my kid wear a mouthguard during sports?
Although mouthguards are not recommended, you should probably still wear them.
According to an article, mouthguards will significantly help prevent damage done to
teeth. This will help in the long run because if even one adult tooth comes out it can
be worth over $1000 and even after that you have to get a crown restoration which
again is worth over $1000. Mouthguards are a good way to protect teethfrom damage
but also a good way to prevent a lot of money being spent in the future.
No one has specifically shown that mouthguards protect people from concussions.
According to Goldberg ВЁIf there s one blow to the chin and lower teeth, hit the
upper teeth hard enough, yeah, it can cause a concussion, But a shot to the back of the
head? The mouthguards not gonna helpВЁ(Goldberg). Some people have always
been told that a mouthguard will prevent concussions from the back of the head but

However, even those participating in noncontact sports (for example, gymnastics)
and any recreational activity (for example, skateboarding, mountain biking) that
might pose a risk of injury to the mouth would benefit from wearing a protective
mouth guard (Alfred D. Wyatt Jr. DMD). Mouthguards are very helpful and can be
used to prevent related injuries to your lips, tongue, and soft tissues of your mouth.
Mouth guards also help you avoid chipped or broken teeth, Nerve damage, or even
tooth loss. Mouthguards are a good way to protect teeth from damage but also a
good way to prevent a lot of money being spent in the future.
A lot of mouthguards are uncomfortable, and this is because they are too bulky, or
they do not fit because they are loose. There are three main types of mouthguards,

The Implementation Plan For A New Outlook From Local...
The implementation plan indicates modifications made from the original plan, to add
local business owners. This modification will give a new outlook from local business
owners and benefit the community. For example, the local business owners can
anticipate damages from disaster and offer insight on the impacts during pre disaster
planning.
The implementation plan will support the community plan by; historical management,
prioritizing, and community support. By looking at Arkansas history of disaster,
strategies can be developed to decrease the impacts. In the past Arkansas, the federal
government has paid out disaster aid of over one billion and 120 million dollars. By
prioritizing tasks by the most important to the least important, Little Rock can better
plan to cover a total of 152,000 buildings.
By implementing these factors will increase community satisfaction and promote
community development; which will increase volunteers and community support.
Implementing these strategies and procedures will increase our communities chance
for survival and decrease the impacts of disasters. We need this modification in our
mitigation process within three months, since this will reduce potential lose and
increase community satisfaction.

St Anthony Research Paper
St Anthony was an Egyptian saint born in 251. He was born into a Christian family
who were very faithful and pious. Anthony grew up to be a respectful child, and he
was taught to be very obedient to his parents. As a child, Anthony was raised in the
Christian faith and was brought to church. He created a strong bond with God and
this caused Anthony to be very devout and faithful. These qualities lead St Anthony
to be a faithful person (Orthodox Church in America). St Anthony was a very
important saint due to his faithfulness that helped him and his many

St Anthony was tempted throughout his life, St Anthony stayed faithful to God and

Hemisphere is only slightly larger than that of Spanish speakers. By the year 2000
the number of Spanish speakers will be far greater than the number of english

American countries. One statistical example: If the figures on illegal Mexican aliens
are correct, that means that every year the United States adds another city the size of
Albuquerque and Tucson combined. Or, put it another way, it adds another state

The policy of most governments toward bilingualism in the home is and long has
been one of neglect. A few countries actively encourage it, especially if the
quot;second quot; (non community) language is the more important language in the
country or in the world, or if the quot;minority quot; (community) language is the
language of a group given special consideration under the law. Many countries, which
have recently been colonies, for example, encourage their young people to learn the

type is important in international trade and politics. However, we could find castles

1984 Newspek Language Analysis
The Newspeak Language
George Orwell s novel 1984 paints a disturbing picture about perpetual power
through the future perspective of 1980 s Oceania. Several types of people live in this
alternate universe including proles, Outer Party, and Inner Party. Winston Smith, the
protagonist, works in the media in order to rewrite history using a new language,
Newspeak. Ingsoc, the party, uses subtle distinction in order to control the people
with Newspeak by limiting vocabulary, which reduces the ability to make decisions,
and the poverty of the language is manifested in the city itself.
Newspeak is the official language of 1984 Oceania and was created for the
brainwashed people involved English Socialism. It limits their vocabulary and actions,

Big Brother and the Inner party reduced words from their vocabulary like bad and
replaced them with ungood or for an even worse description, double ungood or
doubleplus ungood. Winston s job, thought of as a historian by some, was to burn
the books containing these words. By using the slogans of slogans of, War is
Peace , Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength , the party eliminates all
words that describe rebelling; in order to stop the people from doing so. Any
person who is fluent in only the language of Newspeak will not even know what
rebelling means. Orwell describes Julia and the party by saying, In some ways she
was far more acute than Winston, and far less susceptible to the Party (153) . This
shows that Julia is way less likely to fall to the claims of the party than Winston is.
The most important phrase is Freedom is Slavery because it keeps the Outer Party
ignorant of the message that is being pushed out to and controlling them. Because of
this slogan, the Inner Party can spread any kind of information, true or false, and the
Outer Party would believe it because people lack the reasoning power to understand
Pros And Cons Of Government Assistance In America
For a very long time there s been the debate over government assistance in america,
admittedly there are plenty of pros and cons on either side of the argument, in this
case I believe that the pros outweigh the cons. America should introduce a universal
basic income as a replacement for all other government assistance in an effort to
reduce government bureaucracy, improve standard of living, reduce the wealth
gap, contribute to better working conditions and create social capital. Providing a
base income for all americans regardless of previous income would greatly affect
the standard of living in america. Replacing all other government benefits with ten
thousand dollars per year for all american citizens over the age of eighteen years
old. Say a person makes forty thousand dollars per year, they now have an extra ten
thousand dollars to add to that, enough to cover daycare or assist in daycare costs
for a single parent, or to allow someone who works three jobs to now be able to to
work two instead. It s no secret that ten thousand more dollars per year would be
helpful to anyone, but for some it could be the difference between living on the
street or not. Yes, ten thousand dollars is most likely not enough for someone to be
able to afford their own apartment, house, ect. Even so, living with a roommate is
preferable over living on the street. Having a roommate is the perfect... Show more

Implementing a UBI would be a smart choice, not only for the government but for the

capital, creating an efficient, effective society benefiting everyone

was reportedly ripped off repeatedly by construction contractors. They sold him

them right back to him. As a result, there were lengthy construction delays and the

The Amazon Rainforest is home to an estimated one third of all known animal

soybeans. ( Brazil Geography Introduction. N.p., n.d. Web. 4 May 2016.) While

Exposure to Violent Television Causes Aggressive Behavior in Children
Abstract: Studies of the aggressiveness in children in relation to the amount of
violent television viewed were examined. The results are discussed and a potential
solution is proposed which assigns responsibility for the control of television viewing
and its effects to parents and children.
Television is the most powerful medium the world has ever seen. Never before has it
been possible to communicate and so strongly influence millions of people at the
same moment right in their own homes. But its misuse has been felonious, and
society is paying an increasing price (Langone, 1984).

The on off switch is the ultimate defense, and parents wield it (Mortimer, 1994).
Parents do have a duty to protect their children from the effects of violent
television (Zuckerman, 1993), and one way that parents protect their children is to
teach them such moral values as honesty, courage, and self control (Browden,
1995). However, because the children are directly involved in this problem, and are
the ones who are watching and being affected by the violent television they are
viewing, They need to participate in the effort to resolve this issue. Parents cant do
it all by themselves; especially in these days of single parent and two career families,
parents just cant be with their children all of the time (Mortimer, 1994).
The questions that are to be addressed in this paper are the following: What is
considered violent television? What are the effects of violent television on children?
Who is responsible for the effects on children? How can we begin to resolve the
issue of the effects of violent television on children?
Several definitions of violent behavior in relation to the media have been put forth.
A violence index compiled for cable television programs defines it as a clear cut and
overt episode of physical violence hurting or killing or the threat of hurting and/or
killingin any context.
Steps Of The Ethical Decision-Making Model In Social
Work
Introduction In chapter 8 the text discusses the ethical decision making model and
how social workers should ask themselves if they see their self in an ethical
situation. There are eight different steps or questions that a social worker should
ask him/herself, those would include one identifying the problem or dilemma, two
Identify the potential issues involved, three Apply the relevant ethics code, fourth
know the applicable laws and regulations, five obtain consultation, six consider
possible and probable courses of action, seven explore the consequences of various
decisions, and might decide on the best course of action. As I began to read the
questions to make the best decisions in this situation I am going to go through each
step of the ethical decision making model and break down the case to make the best
and ethical decision that I could make as a social worker.
Step of Ethical Decision Making Model After reading the text for the first step in the
decision making model, I start breaking down the case as figuring out what the
problem is in the case. The problem in the case is that the husband has confessed to
you that he is involved romantically with another person and his wife isn t aware of
the situation. So the main problem in this scenario is that you the husband and wife
have been coming to you for help improve the quality of their relationship but while
doing this the husband has cheated his wife. The second step of the decision making
process is
The CSI Effect and its Implications in Forensic Science
Essay
The definition of forensic science is any scientific research, method, or theory
used to analyze evidence in an attempt to solve legal cases (Cho). In recent years,
there has been growing public interest in forensic science, arguably because of the
numerous television programs that glamorize its practices. This phenomenon is
part of what is known as the CSI effect, or the process through which devoted fans
of popular crime dramas develop unrealistic notions of forensic science methods,
practices, and their applications in real life cases (Mancini 544; Stevens 37; Ley,
Jankowski, and Brewer 52). The CSI effect has had more negative impacts on
forensic science and society than positive impacts, especially in regards to what goes

These scenes dramatize the lab technician s work and make it seem intriguing and

strong prosecutor s effect, as Mancini describes it, is one aspect of the CSI effect
referring to the expectations jurors who frequently watch crime shows have for
forensic evidence (Mancini 544). There are clearly many different aspects and
impacts of the CSI effects that can be positive or negative. There has been a lot of
research intending to fully discover the extent of the CSI effect television that has
found its impact to be negative. Of the multitudes of negative impacts of the CSI
effects, among the most prevalent are the unrealistic expectations that viewers
have of DNA and other types of forensic evidence in the courtroom. In Ley,
Jankowski, and Brewer s study, they analyzed a large sample of CSI episodes for
their content relating to forensic science. The study found that that in 94% of all
episodes in the sample the detectives used DNA evidence to solve cases. Also, in
88% of all cases shown, the
Kiss Vs Gnaw
When you look at the two art pieces; The Kiss by Rodin, and Gnaw by Antoni;
there are some similarities about the meanings of the works of art. However, their
background and history are different. These paintings were created in two different
eras and have different form and content. Furthermore, these works of art share
similar worldly and moral overtones. Respectively, these paintings have a
significant history and reverence. These two paintings created in different time
periods and different parts of the world have more in common than one might
imagine. The Kiss was acclaimed as a masterpiece when it was first displayed in
Paris, France in 1877, and today it is one of the most well known pieces of

In this work and many others, Antoni often confronts social issues such as
materiality and femininity. The Kiss is one of Rodin s most famous pieces of
work. The piece is carved out of standard white marble. In contrast, Janine Antoni
reached outside the traditional art materials and techniques, and the choices are
fundamental to the works content. The chocolate has strong associations with
love, as both a token of affection and a substitute for it. Lard summons up
obsessions with fat and self image, which in turn are connected to culturally
inflicted prototypes of female beauty, as is lipstick. Gnaw represents the gap
between the prettified, materialistic world of love and the private, more desperate
longing it feeds. The gnawed pieces of chocolate and lard resemble the base of
Rodin s statue after the couple has passed, and perhaps that is part of the message
too. The Kiss wants to persuade us that love is beautiful and that we are beautiful
when in love. However, Gnaw exposes the romantic illusions that works such as The

Significance Of The Hollywood Sign
The Hollywood Sign
The Symbol of a Land of Fantasy
Hollywood in Los Angeles, California could be called a Land of Fantasy and one of
its most famous symbols is the Hollywood Sign. It sits on top of Mount Lee in
Griffith Park and towers over Hollywood. The original sign was built in 1923 and
was done as a publicity ploy to encourage people to purchase homes in the
subdivision known as Hollywoodland located along Beachwood Canyon. One of the
promoters for the sign was Mack Sennet however the sign wasn t meant to last
forever, only for a year and a half.
The Hollywood Sign cost $21,000 to build and each of the letters was 30 ft. wide
and 50 ft. high. Studded with light bulbs the sign could be seen for miles around.
However there was the constant problem of maintenance and vandalism and finally
maintenance of the sign was discontinued in 1939. Late in 1944 the H. Sherman
Company became the owner of around 435 acres of land adjoining Griffith Park
including the sign. They took down the word land and now the sign simply read
Hollywood. In August of 1978 the sign got all new steel letters and stretches 450 feet

The article Thunder Bay Generating Station Stops Burning Coal, states that coal had
become 25% of the power capacity in Ontario, which is significant, as this area is
dominated by the vast capacity of nuclear power (CBC News, 2014). This value
makes it clear the impact coal power had on the overall production in Ontario, and
how much of a void this is to fill by other alternative sources. The purpose of this
report will be to evaluate Ontario s decision to eliminate coal fired power plants
through cause and effect analysis. To begin the pollution from exhaust gases are
assessed. This will be followed by the effect that burning this fuel source has as far
as extracting the material, and the by product that results from the burning. Finally
the loss of an industry will be addressed as it impacts a multitude of job areas
including power engineers, including those seeking employment upon graduation of
programs such as the Chemical Processing and Engineering Technology course
offered at Lambton College. The information borrowed for the production of this
report have been gathered from such sources as the Government of Canada, news
articles including the CBC, and other scholarly sources which will offer an unbiased
analysis.

History and the Last Man, and Huntington s book, The Clash of Civilizations and the
Remaking of World Order, pose two very conflicting theories on international
relations. In this paper I will summarize and compare/contrast the two theories. Both
theories, written since the fall of communism and updated since the first gulf war,
have been widely read, taught, praised and criticized

To understand Fukuyama s theory one must look beyond the specific words.
Fukuyama is not claiming that history has or will end and that occurrences of history
will cease to exist. He is saying that democracy is such a perfect and Idealistic form
of rule that no major change in political philosophy can happen in the future.
Historical occurrences will still exist, but they will be within the realm of the current
political philosophical thought. Fukuyama goes even further to prove his point by
showing that the new philosophies on government created since the oncoming of
democracy, (Communism, Socialism, etc.) have ultimately failed and democracy has
prevailed in its place.
In the Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, Samuel Huntington
argues that the primary political actors in the 21st century will be civilizations and
that the primary conflicts will be conflicts between these civilizations rather then
between nation states.
Huntington Writes:
It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not
be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among
humankind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will
remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the principal conflicts of global
politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations. The clash of
civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between
Shiloh Alternate Ending
Wake up, Soldier! shouted a man. The boy awoke with a start, knocking his drum
over in the process. He noticed people bustling about all around him while they pulled
on boots and helmets.
What s going on? he asked, still drowsy from his restless sleep.
The war is starting, boy. We need to get to Shiloh.
The boy tensed as the words hit his ears. He was going to war. He was going to be on
the frontlines of an actual battle, with guns and everything.
Well, Soldier? Let s get a move on! We re marching out of here at 0800, we should
get to the grounds at 1200.
The boy got up, positioning his drum around his neck and brushing off his sticks.
His eyes darted around trying to find the general, so he could get another pep talk
before risking his life. When he couldn t find the general he decided to pull on his
coat and join the huddle of other boys over by some barracks.
Drummer boy, eh? teased a soldier just a little bit older than the him. You couldn t

How Does Steinbeck Show Foreshadowing In Of Mice And
Men
Of Mice and Men In Of Mice and Men there are two main characters. There is
Lennie who has the brain of a 7 year old, but is really tall and strong. Then there is
George, he is really smart, short, and when he tells Lennie to do something he does it.
They are best friends and they stick together. John Steinbeckshowed foreshadowing
three times. The first way that Steinbeck showed foreshadowing is he told how
everytime Lennie got a mouse from is aunt he would kill it. Steinbeck foreshadowed
how Lennie didn t know his own strength. Everytime he went to pet the mouse sense
their necks are so sensitive he would pet them to hard and their necks would snap
The second way he showed foreshadowing was when he had George and
Hashimoto Thyroiditis Research Paper
Hashimoto Thyroiditis also known as Hashimoto s disease named after Hakarum
Hashimoto back in 1912, is an Autoimmune Lymphocytic infiltration of the thyroid
gland by antithyroid autoantibodies. It is highly likely for a person to develop
Hypothyroidism as a result of the autoantibodies attacking the thyroid and keeping
the thyroid from producing the amount of hormones our bodies need. As stated in
the Ear, Nose and Throat Journal Approximately 5% of the general population has
hypothyroidism, with Hashimoto thyroiditis the most common cause. (2) The
journal also goes on to say how women are affected disproportionately with a ratio
of 10:1. While there is not a definite cause of Hashimoto s it has been researched
that majority of people who have the disease have a family member who also suffer

Hashimoto s can take years to develop and can be associated with many conditions

Persuasive Essay On Reasons For Holy Wars
For centuries, people have lived under the influence of religion, believing in
person or people greater than themselves. Religion can be found in all corners of
the world, America, Europe, Arabia, and everywhere else. How it got there, may
be a much darker story though. War has been at the basis of all human life, guiding
us to a dark place filled with fear and death. We see it as the only means to an end,
and we have repeated this cycle for as long as we have been alive. Many religions,
such as Christianity, Judaism, and Muslim, are not justified for starting holy wars,
reminding us that people will believe that anything is right if it is under Gods name.

The washington post estimates that 1.7 million lives were lost in the Crusades, a
series of holy wars. Those are 1.7 million people who never truly finished their
lives, who were exterminated and slaughtered in the name of God. People may say
that through these wars land was achieved for the winning side and allowed their
empire to grow. That doesn t justify how many people were slain and tortured.
Additionally, both sides lost one way or another. Many lives on both sides were lost
and land was destroyed. The Washington post states, The Crusaders themselves
suffered; historians estimate that only one in 20 survived to even reach the Holy
Land. People may say that people did survive and yes that is true. After going
through war though, after seeing your friends die in front of you, you ask yourself,
Was it really worth it?
In conclusion, people will believe that anything is right if it is under God s name,

Essay Interpretations of American History
Interpretations of American History
The world is full of rich culture, diversity and experiences unique to each individual.
When determining the validity of historic accounts we must factor in that particular
historian s point of view, which should be characterized by ethnicity, idealogy,
theoretical or methodological preference. With these factors views of the past often
vary from person to person. In this essay I will be discussing the four different stages
that shaped the writing of American history over the last 400 years.
According to Couvares, the writing of American history has passed through four
stages: the providential, the rationalist, the nationalist, and the professional. The
providential stage took place during the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Bancroft believed that Anglo Saxons were racially destined to lead and spread
freedom across the globe. With the establishment of John Hopkins University, college
education became more common among middle class Americans, however only
wealthy white men still only had access to that kind of education. This new wave of
historians insisted that knowledge of history and physics were of equal importance.
The final stage of American history and progression according to Couvares, was the
professional stage. Professional scholars rose to prominence from 1910 1945. These
historians believed that modernity, industrialization, urbanization, and class conflict
had fundamentally changed society. Charles Beard argued that the constitution was
not the product of wise men intent on balancing liberty and order, but a clique of
wealthy merchants and landowners who wanted a central government strong enough
to defend their privileges against the unruly masses. (Couvares 77 2). Beard also
thought that many of the major conflicts in society were between economic interest
groups. Many critics found flaws in his idealogy, but at the same time it inspired them
to find answers to questions that plagued the people.
Over the past 400 years, these historians all had different stances on how they thought
to improve society. With the mix of cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities no two
viewpoints will ever be exactly the same. Couvares

Scott was owned by Dr. Emerson until Mr. Emerson s death when Scott was sold

the United States of America. Scott is a slave, owned by Mr. and Mrs. John

Dred Scott has presided residence in both Illinois and Wisconsin Territory,

meaning that no man nor woman can be private property of another. Because of
this, Mr. Emerson has no control nor jurisdiction over Scott. Mr. Scott resided in
free territory for several years, therefore, he must leave this courtroom as a free
man. Although slavery is not abolished in the South, it is abolished in both of the
territories that Scott visited during his involvement with Mr. Emerson, making it his
right to be free. It is of the slaveholder s duty to not enter the territories of Illinois
and Wisconsin expecting his slave to maintain in his possession. The responsibility
is left on Mr. Emerson and it is due to his ignorance that his slave will gain freedom
today. Slavery is prohibited in both territories, making it unreasonable that a man

Secondly, power poses the next hindrance for the Industrial Sector. The issues
related to power should be resolved as early as possible in the near future. Lack of
power is a big hurdle to the running of industries. Many states like Tamilnadu, Uttar

Comparative study of Literature and Intercultural understanding: Language and
Religion play a major role in formation of a culture. Literature is one of the medium

William Golding s Influence On Lord Of The Flies

English teacher in a small town in England to an author whose books altered the
mindset of its readers. Kids and adults have contemplated these words from Lord
of the Flies, Ralph wept for the end of innocence, the darkness of man s heart, and
the fall through the air of the true, wise friend called Piggy (Golding 202). These
deep rooted words from Lord of the Flies, a renowned book written by William
Golding, changed him from a locally known author in England to a Nobel
Literature Prize Laureate. He won the Nobel prize in 1983 for not only writing
many successful selling books, such as Lord of the Flies and Rites of Passage, but in
the words of the Nobel committee, he won ...for his novels which, with the
perspicuity of realistic narrative art and the diversity and universality of myth,

Mr. Ernest Hemingway s A Clean, Well-Lighted Place
Restlessness, sadness, or just transparent everyday life call it what you will,
exasperation and displeasure are very universal themes in the works of Mr. Ernest
Hemingway. In A Clean, Well Lighted Place, Hemingway submits a fairly
discouraged view of the world, alluding to the point that even people who are
joyous, young, and completely content will at some point in their lives end up
alone, drunk, and sad. By showing us three people in various stages of life (young,
middle aged, and old), Hemingway portrays that life grows progressively more
disappointing, until the only feasible options are suicide or drunkenness. An old
customer sits by himself one evening in cafe. The customer is deaf and enjoys the
night when the world begins to still. Two waiters watch him attentively because they

A Brief Look at Queen Elizabeth I
Many people, in England, believe that there has always been one queen to stand
above the rest. That queen was Elizabeth the 1st. She has made many
accomplishments during her reign. From a compromise about what religion England
would follow to defeating the Spanish Armada.
Elizabeth was born September 7, 1533 in Greenwich England. She was the daughter
of King Henry VII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. Elizabeth had a half sister
from the king s first wife, Catherine of Aragon, and also had a half brother from the
king s third wife, Jane Seymour. When Elizabeth was only two her father had her
mother executed for suspicion of adultery. When her father decided to have Elizabeth
s mother executed, he then stripped Elizabeth of her title as princess.
In 1553 Elizabeth s half brother, Edward, died at the age of nine. Shortly after,
Elizabeth s half sister took the throne. Her name was Mary. Mary caused many
problems for England. Mary believed that England should follow one religion and
anyone who did not follow this religion would be executed. Mary was Catholic. She
later got the nickname bloody Mary because she killed so many Protestants. This
caused a problem for Elizabeth because she was Protestant. Many people who did not
believe the Catholic faith thought that Elizabeth was the rightful ruler and plotted
against Mary. The leader of this plot was named Thomas Wyatt. He was organizing a
rebellion and soon Mary found out of this plan. She then had Elizabeth imprisoned in

Size of the sample group is needed to be specified properly due to the goal is to

can be resulted in terms of the reliability of the study, especially empirical study.
Therefore, how many samples can satisfy the target? In addition, a smaller sample size
leads to a higher error of the sampling when compared with a bigger size. Even if
an increasing of sample size can diminish the error, after it goes beyond some
point, an error cannot be decreased significantly (see figure 4.1). Furthermore, an

concerned, such as proximal and distal position of the femoral isthmus, intracortical
width at the lesser trochanter and proximal extremity of
Marketing Strategy For Soft Tea
There are times when I simply cannot decide between sweetened iced tea, and
unsweetened iced tea, but offering me a third option (that is most similar to one of
the sweetened levels for example, Вј sweet tea mixed with Вѕ unsweet) to aid my
decision making process has been a well documented marketing strategy for years.
Introducing a decoy (or dominated alternative) helps consumers narrow their focus on
the simpler choice. However, choosing sweet teamay involve giving up the fewer
calorie healthier for me option found in the unsweet tea, and this can cause conflicts
in my process that result in an absence of the decoy s intended benefit. Choosing the
sort of iced beverage I consume on a hot day has little significance compared to the

They were able to create choice sets that delineated, and consistently demonstrated the
attraction effect (decoy effect, or asymmetrical dominance). This was done by
presenting the target and competitor as equals, and in this way, the decoy showed
how its inclusion motivated choices, as well as positively supporting the target. The
attraction effect has been replicated hundreds of times over the past thirty two years,
and been conducted with different stimuli, in many different circumstances, and have
yielded multifarious explanations for its occurrence. Many explanations support the
Huber et al., study, and some even refute the existence of an attraction effect when it
is tested in these different domains.
Kim and Park (2005) analyzed the use of a decoy effect, and how it would influence
consumer choices on the target brand versus the competitor, and how the anchoring
cognitive bias influenced their choices. When consumers have a choice among
alternative brands they haven t considered, they will do a methodical comparison of
the items with the expectation it included a few characteristics they cared about
(Kim, and Park, 2005). Consistent with their hypothesis, they found that consumers
applied past judgement experiences to their

Marketing Strategies Midterm
1. The five types of customer needs are: Stated needs, Real needs, Unstated needs,
Delight needs and Secret needs. Define each and give an example for each.
Stated needs are wants that are expressed by the customer while shopping for a
product or service. An example of a stated need is when a customer wants to buy a
two bedroom condo.
Real needs are the underlying needs of those that are stated. In the case of the
customer that wants to buy a two bedroom condo, they want a condo that is
convenient with regards to proximity to work, friends, family and sources of activity.
Unstated needs are expectations that a customer associates with the product or
service they are shopping for in which the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several ways in which a company is able to conduct marketing research.
Some of these ways are more expensive than others, but if I were in charge of
marketing research for a small company that didn t have the necessary budget for
an extensive research project, I would approach it in the following three ways: 1.
Utilizing the internet The internet has the answer to anything at just a Google
search away. A company can use the internet to see how their competitors website
is set up compared to their own and what consumers are discussing about yours and
your competitors company via chat rooms, blogs and forums. The internet is a
wealth of information and it is available at a minimal cost. 2. Engaging top MBA
students to design and carry out projects This is not only a great way to get some
additional sets of eyes on a specific marketing situation facing a company, but it is
also available at the cost of just experience and visibility for the MBA students
involved. 3. Focus Groups I would lastly consider running a series of focus groups.
This is a great way to test different ideas to resolve a specific marketing situation
facing a company. Based on the results of the focus groups, you are able to determine
a direction for the marketing plan at yet another minimal cost.
5. What is Customer perceived value (CPV) and give an example of when the value
of a product or service did not match the cost you paid
Meaning Of Life In Things Fall Apart
The meaning of life. An age old question which many consider the answer to be
unknowable. Yet, it is still the topic of century long discussions. Chinua Achebe
stated in a 1994 interview with Eleanor Wachtel, a Canadian broadcaster, that the
meaning of life, the purpose, was to struggle . So that s my sense of the meaning of
life. That s really how I would put it, that we struggle, and because we struggle, that
struggle has to be told, the story of that struggle has to be conveyed to another
generation. You have struggle and story, and these two are quite enough for me. This
is our life s purpose. To fight, and to survive.
In Achebe s novel Things Fall Apartthe protagonist Okonkwo tried everything in his
power to avoid becoming what his father was in his eyes: weak, cowardly, and
effeminate. Because of this strong desire to show his masculinity, he took actions that
resulted in exile from his village, ruining his reputation and agitating his ego. As
Okonkwo lives out his banishment in his motherland, he discovers Christian
missionaries have gone to his old village and have converted many, including his son
Nwoye. Okonkwo had always seen his son as weak, fearing that he took after his
grandfather. When Nwoye took a Christian name, Isaac, his father viewed it as the
ultimate betrayal, which shows the extent of his hubris. Okonkwo then was unable to
incite an uprising, realizing that the importance of tradition in his tribe had ... Show

Was The Assassination of John Fitzgerald Kennedy a Conspiracy? On November
22nd, 1963 at 12:30 p.m in Dallas, Texas, one of the most horrific events in
American History took place. The assassination of John F. Kennedy. Crowds were
cheering as JFK was on a ten mile route that would pass through Dallas, Texas.
John Kennedy was in the back seat of a 1961 four door Lincoln Continental
convertible when this tragic event occurred. The driver took a left off of Main

A Critique Of The Theory Of Global Risk Society Essay
Introduction
Death is a part of life that nobody will ever escape; it is the last act we will perform
before we are physically no more. There are different cultures, religions, beliefs and
values that people have the opportunity of being a part of in their life, and nothing
reflects that more when someone dies. People have become more open about death,
dying and bereavement, where they are now influenced to broaden their horizons
about the options they can choose. The theory of modern and postmodern deaths
characterizes an individual s choice on how they choose to die and accept death and
explain new ways of thinking about death practices. Through personal experience of
death and bereavement modern and postmodern death will be analyzed. It will be
discussed through personal links and connections and explain whether and how it
validates and or offers a critique of the theory of global risk society.

When my mother died it was the worst experience of my life. I had felt that my
whole world was over and had no idea about how I was going to make it through
my life without her. It made me realize that every day was not guaranteed and that
people die without any notice. The first thought I had was that if she had been sick
or she had been elderly, maybe I would be able to cope better knowing I had time to
prepare my goodbyes or that I knew that she had lived a long and fulfilled life. The
fact she was killed in a motorcycle accident that was through no fault of
The Food Basket Brigade
Neosho is a very involved community and lends a helping hand to those in need.
Throughout our community, hunger has been an outstanding issue and several
churches and organizations have risen to the challenge of meeting needs of those
around. The Food Basket Brigade was started in 1988. Since its beginning, the effort
has collected and distributed more than 4 million pounds of food. (The Joplin Globe).
During the month before they deliver the food, several school organizations go out
around town and pick up all the food from people who have it set out, usually by
their mailboxes, and then they deliver it to The Newton CountyArmory. Back several
years ago, when I was in school, one of our extra credit works was to participate with

Representatives of other churches and businesses from around the area volunteer
their time to work at the kitchen. Others sponsor the meal, but can t spend the time
working. For me, the reason why it s important to be part of the chamber is to just
show that we are part of the Neosho community, Desiree Bridges said. We support
what s going on here and it s a great way for people to know who we are. The
purpose of the kitchen is to reach hungry people in the community. They can be any
kind of hungry, including spiritually, physically and emotionally.
Arvest of Joplin Missouri has started a 1 Million Meals campaign to help the local
area meet the rising demand of hunger. Arvest Bank in Southwest Missouri has

Molecular And Phylogenetic Characterization Of Mercury...
Molecular and phylogenetic characterization of mercury reductase gene (merA) from
newly isolated Bacillus sp.
Introduction:
Continuous discharge of industrial waste results in the increase levels of metal ions,
which are toxic in nature. Among plethora of metals, mercury is found to be more
toxic metals, whose metal ions are readily released from industries and
anthropogenic sources. Mercury is one of potent neurotoxin and is also toxic to
environment. The uncontrolled discharge of mercury as pollutant into water bodies
has arise the level of mercury from 20 to 100 times or even more from the
permissible limit of it.
The contamination has affected the marine population at large but few of bacteria
have found way out to tolerate such high concentration of mercury. Such bacteria
have been discovered way back in 1960 s by Moore, where he reported to found an
operon called as mercury operon or mer operon which is found to be integrated on
plasmid, transposons, etc., which harbors the efficiency to withstand mercury
contamination. Further various researches were made and it was found that mer
operon primarily have two genes called merA which encodes for mercury reductase
enzyme which breaks down inorganic form of mercury (Hg2+) to less toxic and
volatile form of mercury (Hg0), which is released in environment and the other gene
called merB which acts on organic form of mercury (CH3Hg+) to convert it into
Hg2+.Thus two major mechanisms are found to be associated with mercury
Compstat
Using Information and Information Technology in Policing
Information Technology (IT) is the technology side of an information system. In
order for police departments to be able to manage their resources in combating crime
in their areas they will have to adapt to new technologies. One of these technologies
is CompStat which stands for comparative statistics. CompStat made its first
appearance in 1994 in New York City. Since then many policedepartments have
implemented the CompStat system.
Once a police officer makes an arrest they have to fill out a report. This report must
be as accurate as possible because the information that is obtained from this report
will be entered into the CompStat system. The CompStat system has ... Show more

There are four basic principles that allow them to respond to crime faster. These
principles are timely an accurate intelligence, along with effective tactics, rapid
deployment, relentless follow up and assessment. These four basic principles have
to happen on a continuous basis in order for the whole system to be effective. This
is why management must play a key role in the use, and implementation of
CompStat. This is one of the main differences between private enterprise and the
public sector is the bottom line of positive returns. If a business implements an
unsuccessful strategy or provides an unacceptable level of customer service, it is not
long before it becomes a failed business. Much like a business, the bottom line with
CompStat is results. (Shawnee P.D. 2012)
CompStat has much strength in preventive policing. Some of these strengths are
being able to predict where and when crimes will be committed, and as a result of
this it allows police department to allocate the proper resources to deal with the
crime. This is very important because it saves time and money on these resources,
and allows for more effective policing. These strengths help the police departments in
other ways as well. Police departments have to operate inside of a budget, and this has
an effect on manpower, operations, and resources. CompStat will help them with their

Oh The Places You Ll Go Essay
The unpleasant disturbance from my mother s phone call awakes me in the morning.
I overhear her conversation with my grandmother in Spanish. My mother informs
my grandmother that I am having difficulty in learning English, since Spanish is my
first foreign language. She suggests purchasing Dr. Seuss book, Oh, the Places You

purpose of reading books. The vivid illustration and short sentences captivate me to
read the book. As the story unfolds, the main character travels to the Waiting Place, a
place where people can think and reconsider their choices in life. The author conveys
to his audience that people face hardships throughout life, but they can surpass their
obstacles with determination. Likewise, in my Waiting Place, I am conflicted with
two choices: to continue reading Dr. Seuss foreign language or to choose a simpler
novel. After reading Oh, the Places You ll Go! it encouraged me to further my writing

Evaluating The Potential Quality Loss Cost
To shorten completion time of construction projects, various researchers have
worked on time cost tradeoff to optimize project plans and resource allocation
keeping in mind no potential loss in quality. This paper discussed various research
findings in this area and summarizes methods and approaches found. Various
approach have been introduced such as The Potential Quality Loss Cost (PQLC) in
time cost tradeoff proposes linear programmingmodel preventing crashing of
activities beyond quality limits and bring practicality in planning. Another research
highlights using linear and integer programming algorithms for resource optimization
while scheduling of project, thereby analyzing potential time cost tradeoff. In a
different approach, researcher used fuzzy multi attribute utility methodology and
justifying it with computational analysis to provide an alternate solution to the
problem. A research focusing on principle of genetic algorithms, results in
development of VBA macro programs which uses the total project cost as an
objective function and accounts for project specific constraints on time and cost.
CE Database subject headings: time cost tradeoff, linear and integer programming,

If one were to look at human related variables, then the third most bird related
mortality variable would be transmission line collisions, which is responsible for
more than 16 million bird deaths (Calvert et al, 2013). The article by Calvert et al
(2013) suggests that there are other variables that contribute higher bird mortality
than wind power. The article by Pagel et al (2003) is a collection of reports by
industry on bird death by wind turbines, while the article by Calvert (2013) is an
estimation based on reports. Both support either sides of the argument, thus causing
more controversy.
Since the wind industry acknowledges that wind turbines have the potential to
harm or cause bird mortality, the industry has put in resources to resolve this issue.
Collaboration between TansAlta Corp. and the University of Calgary have found
a way to reduce bat mortality by 60% (Jones, 2013). They were able to achieve this
by studying the interactions between bats and wind turbines. They found that bat
mortality were not the result of external injury, but by lung damaged through a
drop in air pressure (Jones, 2013). The drop in air pressure was caused by the low
rotation frequency of the turbine blades (Baewald et al, 2008; Jones, 2013). This
finding has been supported by other research papers such as the one by Baewald et
al (2008) Barotrauma is a significant cause of bat fatalities at wind turbines. Their
findings were that 8% of bats had only external
Palestine And Palestine Of Palestine
Palestine and Israel have been in conflict since 1948 for the ownership of Palestinian
territory. When the Ottoman Empire collapsed, Palestine became part of the
administration of Great Britain after WWI despite British promises of a definite
Palestinian independence. During WWII, several Jewish people fled to Palestine due
to the Nazi persecution. Consequently, by the end of this war, there were six hundred
thousand Jews in Palestinian territory, which created a coexistence tension. As a
consequence, the United Nations divided Palestine in two equal sized regions: Arabic
and Jewish. Once Great Britain withdrew Palestinian territory, the State of Israelwas
created, and was seeking more territory. This became the cause of the conflict. As...

Since the beginning of the Arab Israeli conflict, a two state solution has been
implemented in order to appease the issue. However, after more than 50 years, the
world has realized that the conflict has only increased, and become worse and
harder to solve. On the one hand, there is the two state solution which consists in
splitting both nations in two different states. One for Palestine and one for Israel
side by side. The framework of the solution is set out in UN resolutions on the
Peaceful settlement of the question of Palestine, going back to 1974 (Abunimah
130) which is a document that stablishes the two state solution as a way to solve the
Arab Israeli conflict. And on the other hand there is the one state solution which is
also known as the binational state solution. Proponents of a binational solution to
the conflict advocate a single state in Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, with
citizenship and equal rights in the combined entity for all inhabitants of all three
territories, without regard to ethnicity or religion (Tilley 250). This solution was
presented on November 2007 and has been in discussion since then. However, after
the outburst of the war in the Gaza Strip in 2014, more people is starting to believe
it is the only viable solution for the issue.
Palestinians have had a real reason to fight all this time, their homeland for over a

Volleyball Is A Popular Sport Across The World For Both
Volleyball is a popular sport across the world for both males and females, whether
it be competitively or recreationally (Mitchinson, 2013). The objective of the game
is to send the ball over the net and have it land inside the opponents court.
However, to even start the game or rally, one must serve the ball from their side of
the court to the other side of the court. This then gives the teams an opportunity to
score a point. Therefore, serving is one of the most important skills in volleyball
since it is one of the few ways to continue to score points (Seminati, 2015). A type of
serve often is the overhand serve. This serve requires the subject to toss the ball with
one hand and contact the ball with the opposite hand above the head.... Show more

The players were tested using a ten camera motion analysis system. Markers were
placed on various spots on the body to assess movements at the pelvis, thorax,
shoulder, arm, and hand. The markers measure flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and
rotation of the trunk. For the upper limb, it measured internal and external rotation.
The players performed ten spike trials to various spots on the court. For these trials,
were then analyzed and Mitchinson concluded that there were no differences in the
range of motion (ROM) of the injured and uninjured athletes. This article is
important for analyzing the biomechanics of a volleyball serve because the motion
of the shoulder during a spike and a serve and almost identical. The article also gave
useful information on the sport of volleyball and the importance of having proper
shoulder movement to successfully swing (Mitchinson, 2013).
Elena Seminati, and other scientists, conducted a study on the shoulder range of
motion and humerus rotation in volleyball. The main purpose of the study was to
assess the performance/motions of the shoulder and use that information to determine
ways to avoid injury. The introduction of the research article gave crucial information
on the importance of having correct biomechanics to avoid injury. It stated that
shoulder injury is one of the most common injuries in volleyball. The study analyzed
21 volleyball, both male and female, that competed at the national level. Sixteen

Persuasive Essay On Internet

  • 1. Persuasive Essay On Internet Writing a persuasive essay on the topic of the internet can be both challenging and intriguing. The internet is a vast and multifaceted subject, encompassing various aspects such as technology, communication, information dissemination, and societal impacts. Crafting a compelling essay requires a deep understanding of these complexities and the ability to present a well-reasoned argument. One of the difficulties lies in navigating the vast amount of information available on the internet itself. The irony of researching about the internet on the internet is not lost, as one must sift through an immense sea of data to find credible sources and relevant information. Additionally, staying updated on the latest developments in technology, online culture, and internet-related issues is crucial to providing an informed perspective. Another challenge is striking the right balance between acknowledging the positive aspects of the internet and addressing its potential drawbacks. The internet has revolutionized communication, facilitated global connectivity, and democratized access to information. However, it has also given rise to concerns such as privacy issues, cyberbullying, and the spread of misinformation. A well-rounded essay must acknowledge these nuances and present a nuanced argument. The persuasive element of the essay adds an extra layer of complexity. Convincing the audience to adopt a particular viewpoint or take a specific action requires not only solid evidence and logical reasoning but also effective rhetoric. Crafting a persuasive essay on the internet involves appealing to the reader's emotions, values, and sense of reason to encourage them to see the topic from a particular perspective. In conclusion, writing a persuasive essay on the topic of the internet is a challenging but rewarding task. It demands a thorough understanding of the subject, the ability to navigate vast amounts of information, and the skill to craft a compelling argument. However, with careful research, thoughtful analysis, and persuasive writing techniques, one can create an essay that engages the reader and encourages them to consider the complexities of the internet in a new light. • 2. Research Paper On Mouthguards A big question asked nowadays is Should my kid wear a mouthguard during sports? Although mouthguards are not recommended, you should probably still wear them. According to an article, mouthguards will significantly help prevent damage done to teeth. This will help in the long run because if even one adult tooth comes out it can be worth over $1000 and even after that you have to get a crown restoration which again is worth over $1000. Mouthguards are a good way to protect teethfrom damage but also a good way to prevent a lot of money being spent in the future. No one has specifically shown that mouthguards protect people from concussions. According to Goldberg ВЁIf there s one blow to the chin and lower teeth, hit the upper teeth hard enough, yeah, it can cause a concussion, But a shot to the back of the head? The mouthguards not gonna helpВЁ(Goldberg). Some people have always been told that a mouthguard will prevent concussions from the back of the head but even the most advanced mouthguards cannot ... Mouth guards also help you avoid chipped or broken teeth, Nerve damage, or even tooth loss. A lot of mouthguards are uncomfortable, and this is because they are too bulky, or they do not fit because they are loose. There are three main types of mouthguards, Stock Rivera
  • 3. The Implementation Plan For A New Outlook From Local... The implementation plan indicates modifications made from the original plan, to add local business owners. This modification will give a new outlook from local business owners and benefit the community. For example, the local business owners can anticipate damages from disaster and offer insight on the impacts during pre disaster planning. The implementation plan will support the community plan by; historical management, prioritizing, and community support. By looking at Arkansas history of disaster, strategies can be developed to decrease the impacts. In the past Arkansas, the federal government has paid out disaster aid of over one billion and 120 million dollars. By prioritizing tasks by the most important to the least important, Little Rock can better plan to cover a total of 152,000 buildings. By implementing these factors will increase community satisfaction and promote community development; which will increase volunteers and community support. Implementing these strategies and procedures will increase our communities chance for survival and decrease the impacts of disasters. We need this modification in our mitigation process within three months, since this will reduce potential lose and increase community satisfaction. Winston Smith, the protagonist, works in the media in order to rewrite history using a new language, Newspeak. Winston s job, thought of as a historian by some, was to burn the books containing these words. By using the slogans of slogans of, War is Peace , Freedom is Slavery and Ignorance is Strength , the party eliminates all words that describe rebelling; in order to stop the people from doing so. Any person who is fluent in only the language of Newspeak will not even know what rebelling means. Orwell describes Julia and the party by saying, In some ways she was far more acute than Winston, and far less susceptible to the Party (153) . This shows that Julia is way less likely to fall to the claims of the party than Winston is. The most important phrase is Freedom is Slavery because it keeps the Outer Party ignorant of the message that is being pushed out to and controlling them. Because of this slogan, the Inner Party can spread any kind of information, true or false, and the Outer Party would believe it because people lack the reasoning power to understand
  • 9. Pros And Cons Of Government Assistance In America For a very long time there s been the debate over government assistance in america, admittedly there are plenty of pros and cons on either side of the argument, in this case I believe that the pros outweigh the cons. America should introduce a universal basic income as a replacement for all other government assistance in an effort to reduce government bureaucracy, improve standard of living, reduce the wealth gap, contribute to better working conditions and create social capital. Providing a base income for all americans regardless of previous income would greatly affect the standard of living in america. Replacing all other government benefits with ten thousand dollars per year for all american citizens over the age of eighteen years old. Say a person makes forty thousand dollars per year, they now have an extra ten thousand dollars to add to that, enough to cover daycare or assist in daycare costs for a single parent, or to allow someone who works three jobs to now be able to to work two instead. It s no secret that ten thousand more dollars per year would be helpful to anyone, but for some it could be the difference between living on the street or not. The results are discussed and a potential solution is proposed which assigns responsibility for the control of television viewing and its effects to parents and children. Television is the most powerful medium the world has ever seen. Never before has it been possible to communicate and so strongly influence millions of people at the same moment right in their own homes. But its misuse has been felonious, and society is paying an increasing price (Langone, 1984). Almost weekly the press carries some story about the harmful effects of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The on off switch is the ultimate defense, and parents wield it (Mortimer, 1994). Parents do have a duty to protect their children from the effects of violent television (Zuckerman, 1993), and one way that parents protect their children is to teach them such moral values as honesty, courage, and self control (Browden, 1995). However, because the children are directly involved in this problem, and are the ones who are watching and being affected by the violent television they are viewing, They need to participate in the effort to resolve this issue. Parents cant do it all by themselves; especially in these days of single parent and two career families, parents just cant be with their children all of the time (Mortimer, 1994). The questions that are to be addressed in this paper are the following: What is considered violent television? What are the effects of violent television on children? Who is responsible for the effects on children? How can we begin to resolve the issue of the effects of violent television on children? Several definitions of violent behavior in relation to the media have been put forth. A violence index compiled for cable television programs defines it as a clear cut and overt episode of physical violence hurting or killing or the threat of hurting and/or killingin any context.

Steps Of The Ethical Decision-Making Model In Social Work Introduction In chapter 8 the text discusses the ethical decision making model and how social workers should ask themselves if they see their self in an ethical situation. There are eight different steps or questions that a social worker should ask him/herself, those would include one identifying the problem or dilemma, two Identify the potential issues involved, three Apply the relevant ethics code, fourth know the applicable laws and regulations, five obtain consultation, six consider possible and probable courses of action, seven explore the consequences of various decisions, and might decide on the best course of action. As I began to read the questions to make the best decisions in this situation I am going to go through each step of the ethical decision making model and break down the case to make the best and ethical decision that I could make as a social worker. Step of Ethical Decision Making Model After reading the text for the first step in the decision making model, I start breaking down the case as figuring out what the problem is in the case. The problem in the case is that the husband has confessed to you that he is involved romantically with another person and his wife isn t aware of the situation. So the main problem in this scenario is that you the husband and wife have been coming to you for help improve the quality of their relationship but while doing this the husband has cheated his wife. Fukuyama s book, The End of History and the Last Man, and Huntington s book, The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, pose two very conflicting theories on international relations. Fukuyama is not claiming that history has or will end and that occurrences of history will cease to exist. He is saying that democracy is such a perfect and Idealistic form of rule that no major change in political philosophy can happen in the future. Historical occurrences will still exist, but they will be within the realm of the current political philosophical thought. Fukuyama goes even further to prove his point by showing that the new philosophies on government created since the oncoming of democracy, (Communism, Socialism, etc.) have ultimately failed and democracy has prevailed in its place. In the Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order, Samuel Huntington argues that the primary political actors in the 21st century will be civilizations and that the primary conflicts will be conflicts between these civilizations rather then between nation states. Huntington Writes: It is my hypothesis that the fundamental source of conflict in this new world will not be primarily ideological or primarily economic. The great divisions among humankind and the dominating source of conflict will be cultural. Nation states will remain the most powerful actors in world affairs, but the principal conflicts of global politics will occur between nations and groups of different civilizations. The clash of civilizations will dominate global politics. The fault lines between

With the establishment of John Hopkins University, college education became more common among middle class Americans, however only wealthy white men still only had access to that kind of education. The final stage of American history and progression according to Couvares, was the professional stage. Professional scholars rose to prominence from 1910 1945. These historians believed that modernity, industrialization, urbanization, and class conflict had fundamentally changed society. Charles Beard argued that the constitution was not the product of wise men intent on balancing liberty and order, but a clique of wealthy merchants and landowners who wanted a central government strong enough to defend their privileges against the unruly masses. (Couvares 77 2). Beard also thought that many of the major conflicts in society were between economic interest groups. Many critics found flaws in his idealogy, but at the same time it inspired them to find answers to questions that plagued the people. Over the past 400 years, these historians all had different stances on how they thought to improve society. With the mix of cultural backgrounds, and ethnicities no two viewpoints will ever be exactly the same. Couvares

The appropriate sample size can be resulted in terms of the reliability of the study, especially empirical study. Therefore, how many samples can satisfy the target? In addition, a smaller sample size leads to a higher error of the sampling when compared with a bigger size. Even if an increasing of sample size can diminish the error, after it goes beyond some point, an error cannot be decreased significantly (see figure 4.1). Furthermore, an optimal sample size can also save time and cost of study. Introducing a decoy (or dominated alternative) helps consumers narrow their focus on the simpler choice. However, choosing sweet teamay involve giving up the fewer calorie healthier for me option found in the unsweet tea, and this can cause conflicts in my process that result in an absence of the decoy s intended benefit. They were able to create choice sets that delineated, and consistently demonstrated the attraction effect (decoy effect, or asymmetrical dominance). This was done by presenting the target and competitor as equals, and in this way, the decoy showed how its inclusion motivated choices, as well as positively supporting the target. The attraction effect has been replicated hundreds of times over the past thirty two years, and been conducted with different stimuli, in many different circumstances, and have yielded multifarious explanations for its occurrence. Many explanations support the Huber et al., study, and some even refute the existence of an attraction effect when it is tested in these different domains. Kim and Park (2005) analyzed the use of a decoy effect, and how it would influence consumer choices on the target brand versus the competitor, and how the anchoring cognitive bias influenced their choices. When consumers have a choice among alternative brands they haven t considered, they will do a methodical comparison of the items with the expectation it included a few characteristics they cared about (Kim, and Park, 2005). Consistent with their hypothesis, they found that consumers applied past judgement experiences to their

Some of these ways are more expensive than others, but if I were in charge of marketing research for a small company that didn t have the necessary budget for an extensive research project, I would approach it in the following three ways: 1. Utilizing the internet The internet has the answer to anything at just a Google search away. A company can use the internet to see how their competitors website is set up compared to their own and what consumers are discussing about yours and your competitors company via chat rooms, blogs and forums. The internet is a wealth of information and it is available at a minimal cost. 2. Engaging top MBA students to design and carry out projects This is not only a great way to get some additional sets of eyes on a specific marketing situation facing a company, but it is also available at the cost of just experience and visibility for the MBA students involved. 3. Focus Groups I would lastly consider running a series of focus groups. This is a great way to test different ideas to resolve a specific marketing situation facing a company. Based on the results of the focus groups, you are able to determine a direction for the marketing plan at yet another minimal cost. 5. Chinua Achebe stated in a 1994 interview with Eleanor Wachtel, a Canadian broadcaster, that the meaning of life, the purpose, was to struggle . So that s my sense of the meaning of life. That s really how I would put it, that we struggle, and because we struggle, that struggle has to be told, the story of that struggle has to be conveyed to another generation. You have struggle and story, and these two are quite enough for me. This is our life s purpose. To fight, and to survive. In Achebe s novel Things Fall Apartthe protagonist Okonkwo tried everything in his power to avoid becoming what his father was in his eyes: weak, cowardly, and effeminate. Because of this strong desire to show his masculinity, he took actions that resulted in exile from his village, ruining his reputation and agitating his ego. As Okonkwo lives out his banishment in his motherland, he discovers Christian missionaries have gone to his old village and have converted many, including his son Nwoye. Okonkwo had always seen his son as weak, fearing that he took after his grandfather. There are different cultures, religions, beliefs and values that people have the opportunity of being a part of in their life, and nothing reflects that more when someone dies. People have become more open about death, dying and bereavement, where they are now influenced to broaden their horizons about the options they can choose. The theory of modern and postmodern deaths characterizes an individual s choice on how they choose to die and accept death and explain new ways of thinking about death practices. Through personal experience of death and bereavement modern and postmodern death will be analyzed. It will be discussed through personal links and connections and explain whether and how it validates and or offers a critique of the theory of global risk society. Introduction: Continuous discharge of industrial waste results in the increase levels of metal ions, which are toxic in nature. Among plethora of metals, mercury is found to be more toxic metals, whose metal ions are readily released from industries and anthropogenic sources. Mercury is one of potent neurotoxin and is also toxic to environment. The uncontrolled discharge of mercury as pollutant into water bodies has arise the level of mercury from 20 to 100 times or even more from the permissible limit of it. The contamination has affected the marine population at large but few of bacteria have found way out to tolerate such high concentration of mercury. Such bacteria have been discovered way back in 1960 s by Moore, where he reported to found an operon called as mercury operon or mer operon which is found to be integrated on plasmid, transposons, etc., which harbors the efficiency to withstand mercury contamination. Further various researches were made and it was found that mer operon primarily have two genes called merA which encodes for mercury reductase enzyme which breaks down inorganic form of mercury (Hg2+) to less toxic and volatile form of mercury (Hg0), which is released in environment and the other gene called merB which acts on organic form of mercury (CH3Hg+) to convert it into Hg2+.Thus two major mechanisms are found to be associated with mercury

The article by Calvert et al (2013) suggests that there are other variables that contribute higher bird mortality than wind power. The article by Pagel et al (2003) is a collection of reports by industry on bird death by wind turbines, while the article by Calvert (2013) is an estimation based on reports. Both support either sides of the argument, thus causing more controversy. Since the wind industry acknowledges that wind turbines have the potential to harm or cause bird mortality, the industry has put in resources to resolve this issue. Collaboration between TansAlta Corp. and the University of Calgary have found a way to reduce bat mortality by 60% (Jones, 2013). They were able to achieve this by studying the interactions between bats and wind turbines. They found that bat mortality were not the result of external injury, but by lung damaged through a drop in air pressure (Jones, 2013). The drop in air pressure was caused by the low rotation frequency of the turbine blades (Baewald et al, 2008; Jones, 2013). This finding has been supported by other research papers such as the one by Baewald et al (2008) Barotrauma is a significant cause of bat fatalities at wind turbines. However, to even start the game or rally, one must serve the ball from their side of the court to the other side of the court. This then gives the teams an opportunity to score a point. Therefore, serving is one of the most important skills in volleyball since it is one of the few ways to continue to score points (Seminati, 2015). A type of serve often is the overhand serve.
