School 100 years ago was very different than schools today. Students had more strict rules, dress codes, and punishments. They also had more responsibilities like doing chores and farm work after school. The school day was longer and focused more on basics like reading, writing, and arithmetic. By age 12-14, most students stopped attending school to begin working on farms or in other jobs to support their families. Classrooms were also more sparse, using wood desks and books instead of current technology. Overall, school 100 years ago placed more emphasis on discipline, practical skills, and early entry into the workforce compared to today's schools.
The world is now termed as “Global Village” because of the advancement in technology. There have been so many changes bought up in education that has made it easy and accessible for every individual now.
This presentation will show the comparison of old and new system. It’s a brief presentation so for more details you can log on to http://www.papersville.com/

1. School 100
Years Ago
School a 100 years ago was very different
from the schools we have now. This
presentation is about the differences of
school now and 100 years back.
2.
3. School’s everyday life 100 years ago was always different in many ways
then now. A lot of students now would think, why do I have to go to
school and I wish I never did, well back then it was the opposite, many
were lucky to go to school and loved it because it was either school, or
work. School clothes, teaches, rooms, learning and homework always
had a more stricter and harder life but I won’t go explain all these topics
because there is more information of that later.. As for homework after
school there were many jobs children had to do at home plus the
‘Homework’. Like cleaning up helping the fathers with outside job, then
having to do homework. Lunches were different too because most
families would have to grow there own food and many rich people had
the money to buy some food.
4. That century ago most students would leave school
between the age of 12-14, to star working and most of
those jobs would be, being a farmer or to own a small
business. Just to keep going many of the desk 100 years
ago would be made out of wood, and they use to flip the
top up to store their books and essentials in.

5. School rules a century ago was very strict and always
had a serious punishment if broken for example like
getting hit with a ruler or having to sit in a corner for
a time with a hat on your head, which would be
humiliating you.
Most of the time the rules wouldn’t be broken.
The teaches would be very strict and a lot of
Them would be male teaches witch I think
be more stricter.
6. School uniform wasn’t that different then the uniform
in 2013. It was defiantly more stricter of the uniform
then now, most of the uniform from 100 years ago
covered up more of the body. Most schools would have
just a plain dress for the girls and just shorts and a top
for the boys.
7. As of today many of the things we learn from or of are technology
wise. As of 100 years ago they used books, today we defiantly dread
the word books or library and if you were from 100 years ago you
would be using books every single day for any information you
needed.
As for today you would always have a phone, ipod, computer to
search up information. Even white boards are starting to be
‘Interactive White boards' which helps us a lot. Even now pens and
pencils are different, because years ago they use to use ink pens, and
you would dab a pit of the pen in a pot or ink.
8. Some subjects from 100 years ago, are still around
but they use to have classes as called ‘the 3
R’s’, which meant reading, writing and arithmetic. As
for geography and all the one’s you have heard of
many of them we still use today.
