2. MY LEARNING
My learning is different than the students in 1913 because we use
laptops and phones to found out things. We work with 3 other
classes in integrated studies, we often work in groups and we
sometimes work with the older year levels. I have a lot of contact
with the teachers via their email and on edmodo, this means that I
can tell them about my homework and ask questions that I may have.
3. WHAT SUBJECTS ARE STILL
THE SAME NOW AND THEN
The subjects that are still the same are English, Maths, woodwork,
science, sport, history and art.
4. WHAT THINGS HAVE CHANGES
OVER THE 100 YEARS
The things that have changed over the years at Eltham High School is
the uniform because we have no uniform except for sports uniform, the
subjects such as metal work, drama, music, integrated studies, PE,
language and 3D art. We have extra activities like the volleyball program,
the volleyball completion, the debate team, the drama club, the swimming
club, the music program, choir and camps. For sports we have interschool
sports were you compete against other schools, there is swimming
carnivals, athletics carnivals and cross country.
5. WHY THERE HAVE BEEN
CHANGES IN EDUCATION
Education has changed because there has been lots of technology
invented. More people attend school because it is now compulsory,
however in 1913 only the wealthy people had the money to go to
school. The subjects have changed and now include those that teach
about life skills. Over the years the teachers have learnt many varied
teaching styles from sitting in rows looking at the teacher to sitting in
groups talking to each other.
6. WHY EDUCATION IS NOT THE
SAME EVERYWHERE IN THE
WORLD
Education is not the same everywhere in the world because it
depends if your country is poor or which state you live such as some
parts of Africa, Asia and Papua Guinea are too poor to afford even a
school or teacher let alone any books. Also schooling can be different
due to the different beliefs, cultures and religions in the world such as
in some Muslim countries they don’t allow women to be educated
after a certain age.
7. MY GOALS
My goals for high school are to get really good test results, get into
the volleyball/program, to learn some French words and count to 10
for the first term, make new friends, get to division in swimming, do
my personal best in everything, be on time for class , to get to district
or division for athletics, to be able to write a 1000 word essay by the
end of the year and finish off all the homework before the due date.
