My Philosophy Of Nursing Philosophy
My philosophy of nursing My own nursing philosophy arises from my Knowledge as a nurse,
personal beliefs and experiences, I have gathered throughout the years from my interactions with
diverse patient population and other healthcare professionals, while working in different setting
as a nursing in the health care. This also addresses nurse s ethics, goal and values as it relates to
my nursing practice. My Nursing Philosophy is based on five components: nursing, Person,
environment, holistic care and health. Person: One of the central concept in nursing care is
person or human being (McEwen and Wills 2007). My nursing philosophy focused on treating
each person as a unique individual that deserves to be valued and treated with respect, dignity,
compassion. Also deserves excellent service, regardless of their socio economic status, age,
religious preference, gender, spiritual condition, sexual orientation, physical condition and race.
Patient should be empowered as a member of a support system, they deserved to be involved,
educated and informed in all aspect their health care. Nursing attitude towards a person can
indirectly or directly affect a person in your care. Patient centered care is also very important in
nursing care, each nurse should provide care that is focused on the expectation, aspiration and
needs of each individual patient rather than the needs of the professionals or her agency. My ability
to perceive each patient as unique, has helped enhance my

What Is The Criminalization Of Black Immigration

Analysis Of Grace Paley s Life And Experiences Of Men And...
The author, Grace Paley, constructs short stories that illustrate the lives and experiences of men and
women living in New York City. This individual account captures the experiences of two Jewish
immigrants in the community where she was raised. Anxiety has a protagonist character that shows
apprehension about the probable destruction of the world. She confronts people that roam the street
to warn them about the danger they face and how to protect society. The panicky narrator, with
anxiety, tries to conserve society, therefore she alerts strangers of their wrongdoings, questions their
actions, and gives them advice.
The narrator s anxiety arises against the two men for the actions they display to their children;
which is our future generation. The lady and the two fathers have distinct views on how the
children should be treated. One father places his daughter from his shoulders to the ground
roughly after she makes him angry. Let s not go too far, said the young father. We could get
depressed. She WAS jumping around on my poor back and hollering Oink, oink the father pleaded
with the aged lady (Paley 833). Her concern is the father should not roughly place his child upon
the ground like he did, but the fathers have a diverse assumption on it. In the father s eyes, his
actions were acceptable for the actions of his daughter s movements on his shoulders. The father
felt his actions would prevent the daughter from demonstrating behavior like that anymore.

The oldest jumps in to anything involving her sister as a protector. At the current foster home
that only consists of the sister and the foster parent the oldest seems to be the one with the
issues. The younger one has adapted very well, in regular school grades are good and no
behavior or sexuality issues. The oldest however seems to have a problem with being told what
to do, having chores and consequences for her action. This all comes from her having to be the
mother for her siblings and no proper adult figure around. Both the foster mother and child are
doing counseling together and separate. I feel this is the best for them, this is where change
begins and a new life for them as well. The mother is still not complying with counseling. Not
answering the door or either saying she is too sick to talk so visits are cut short. But she says
that she does like the counseling sessions and wants to keep doing it. Mother still drinks and
says she does not see a problem. Still not working, house evaluation failed. Mother no longer asks
about getting kids back. I feel that she has given up and so has the CM. There was no changes in
the plan. Both older children were promoted to next grade they still visit with siblings and mother

Tale Of Two Cities Revenge
Humanity is a spectrum. There is no one person who is unequivocally bad or good. Every
individual is ambiguous, and merely has the strength of their character and the choices they make.
In some cases, these choices are influences by external factors that push fundamentally good
individuals to commit deplorable acts. One of the most interesting of these factors is the concept of
revenge, and the lengths to which humans will go in its pursuit. Throughout A Tale of Two Cities
,
Charles Dickens is deliberate in his portrayal of the deleterious effect that a desire for revenge can
have on even the most unimpeachable of characters, especially in the lives of Dr. Manette, Madam
Defarge, and Gaspard. The case of Dr. Alexandre Manettein regard to revenge... Show more content

Charles Defarge harbors resentment for the aristocracy and wants revenge against the disservice
that they do to the common people, as he grew up impoverished in a small town in France. This
hatred can be seen in the scene in which he interacts with the Marquis, when he throws the golden
coin back in the face of the embodiment of the nobility he so despises. It is this desire for revenge
that leads Mr. Defarge to become a leader of the Revolution, heading the charge to storm the Bastille
and leading the group of Jacques. It is common knowledge that revolution is bloody business,
and Mr. Defarge has no qualms spilling blood. In several points in the book, he is willing to
compromise his morals to further the ends of the revolution, even displaying Dr. Manette in his
most frazzled state to the Jacques to inspire passion for the revolution. Despite this clear ethical
ambiguity, he is something of a sympathetic revolutionary; Mr. Defarge is unwilling to cross
some lines that don t even exist in the mind of his wife. At one point in the book, Defarge speaks
to this idea: Well, well, reasoned Defarge, but one must stop somewhere. After all, the question
is still where? His wife s reply is merely: At extermination. A Tale of Two Cities is a classic piece
that explores many motifs through the lives of the characters it involves. The consequences of
the desire for revenge and how it introduces ambiguity to the lives of Dr. Manette, Madam
Defarge, and Mr. Defarge are masterfully played out in this literary work, in such a way that
gives warning and hope at the same time. The message is clear: we are all human, and we are all
in control. To what extent we allow the desire for revenge to control us is entirely in our

Notes On Gandalf And Sauron
#99
Gandalf and Sauron were driving 70 miles per hour down a desolate road at 2 am. Both men were
followed and stopped by state troopers Bilbo and Frodo outside of Sauron s home. Since deer
season started, Bilbo and Frodo were looking for hunters with illegal firearms and illegally shot
game. The police stopped Sauron and Gandalf in the driveway. In the process of speaking to
Sauron, Frodo smelled alcohol on Sauron s breath. Sauron agreed to take a sobriety test, failed
it, and was subsequently arrested. Gandalf left the vehicle, and Bilbo confronted Gandalf before
Gandalf could enter Sauron s home. Bilbo asked Gandalf if he could search the vehicle and
Gandalf agreed to the search. In the process of searching the vehicle Frodo and Bilbo find a
wallet in the glove compartment and a dead body in the back of the van. Upon the discovery of
the body, Frodo chases after Gandalf and arrests him inside the house. Inside the home, officers
find and seize evidence of drug trafficking and poaching. Following Sauron s and Gandalf s
arrest, Bilbo and Frodo realize the possibility that the murder was associated with a drug deal
gone wrong. The police obtained a warrant to search the home for further evidence of poaching
and discovered the murder weapon, more drugs, a cache of illegal weapons and child pornography
on a computer in the home. The majority of the actions by the police to obtain all of the
aforementioned evidence was justified, but there are shortcomings that require a

Snow Globes Lab Report
Snow globes are made of clear glass, a transparent sphere with a scenic view and a plastic toy
inside the globe. The globe must be shaken to actuate the snow so the white particles can fall
gradually to reach the base. When the marble (object used for this experiment) falls, it experiences
two external forces which are; the gravitational forceand the aerodynamic (fluid resistance) drag
of the marble, which affects the rate of the marble. As the marble is falling, the speed is increased
due to the gravitational force, which is pulling the marble downwards to the base of the beaker
until it reaches the terminal velocity, where both external forces are equal. However, there are
factors that can affect the marble s terminal velocity, such as... Show more content on

However, the results are completely different. The results shown in the table, the water and
cornstarch solution is most suitable liquid to use in the snow globes due to its thick viscosity
compared to other solutions. Hence, the marble traveled slower as it created more drag onto the
marble. Nevertheless, the water itself had low viscosity compared to other solutions because the
marble reached the base faster of the measuring cylinder. As a result, it created less drag onto the
marble compared to water and cornstarch solution. Therefore, the thicker the solution, the longer it
takes for the marble to reach the base of the measuring cylinder. However, if the solution has low
viscosity (such as water itself), the faster it the time it takes for the marble to reach the

The Groupthink Phenomen Is The Political System Of The...
The Groupthink Phenomena: Is the Political System of the United Stated Designed to Suffer the
Phenomena? The United States has long been divided by political lines. Individuals are
identified as either Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Left wing or Right wing.
Normal distribution of the population would put the majority, regardless of political affiliation
within the middle or moderate ideals. However the groupthink phenomena may be causing a rift
that abnormally pushes those moderates to more hardline political views. In the new book
Wiser: Getting Beyond Groupthink to Make Groups Smarter Cass Sunstein and Reid Hastie
identify how the groupthink phenomena is affecting our political ideals. Is the polarizing ideals
of our current two party system destined to be overcome by groupthink? Groupthink is not a
new phenomenon. The idea of groupthink originally was coined by William H. Whyte (1952) in
Fortune magazine: Groupthink being a coinage and, admittedly, a loaded one a working
definition is in order. We are not talking about mere instinctive conformity it is, after all, a
perennial failing of mankind. What we are talking about is a rationalized conformity an open,
articulate philosophy which holds that group values are not only expedient but right and good as
well (p. 114). Twenty years later, the topic was researched and provided a more in depth description
by Irving Lester Janis. Janis was interested on how the same group could develop a

The Argument In Favor Of Prayer In Public Schools
For many years, students in public education were familiar with prayer in school. However, after
this practice was challenged by parents in New York State, the Supreme Court ruled on June 26,
1962 that government endorsed prayer in public schools is unconstitutional. Many Americans still
disagree with this decision and believe in the importance of prayerin schools and that is the
constitutional right of every American. Some of the arguments in favor of prayer in public schools
are that it supports religious freedom in the United States, it acknowledges America s heritage, and
it offers benefits to all of society.
First of all, prayer in school supports the principle of religious freedom on which the United States
was founded. By banning school

Determining the Energy Requirements of an Individual
The determination of patients energy needs is important in the clinical practice since the balance
between energy intake and expenditure has important implications to the patient s health, as well as
underfeeding and overfeeding. However, identifying the patients energy expenditure and designing
adequate nutritional support for them can be a task, and measurements and estimative calculations
are currently used in the clinical setting for this purpose1,2. Determining the energyrequirements of
an individual may be difficult since many factors are involved such as age, gender, body
composition, physical activity, nutritional status, illness and the goals of the nutritional treatment.
As there are no methods which could involve all these factors, dietitians have to be careful and
carry a clinical judgement when determining these requirementsВі.
Energy expenditure is characterized by the number of kcal used by the human body per day. In
healthy individuals, energy expenditure can be divided into basal metabolic rate (BMR), thermic
effect of food and physical activity. In not so physically active individuals or hospitalized
individuals, the BMR is by far the largest component of total daily energy expenditure, accounting
for around 60 75% of total expenditure1,2,3,4. It s the energy required to maintain the organism
functions, temperature and survival and, in healthy individuals, it can vary according to differences
in body composition (fat free mass proportion), weight,

A second idea from Charles Q. Choi, Space.com (August 10, 2010) claims that Star Wars
has given people the idea of new Star Wars based technology. He states that the AT AT and

of making movies. He claims that in the old way of making fantasy movies it was usually a

Despite its continuous aging, the epic poem Beowulf is...
Despite its continuous aging, the epic poem Beowulf is still currently discussed in modern day
English courses, allowing the reader to unfold and discuss certain literary themes associated
throughout the epic poem. One arguable theme associated with the Anglo Saxon styled poem is
that if a great warrior can also be a prominent ruler of their land or not. A warrior is usually
associated with being victorious in challenging situations, automatically associating themselves as
being a great leader or king of a kingdom. However, heroic actions cannot simply determine a
great leader, but rather the character s traits unique to each great warrior which are needed to
produce a great leader. Traits such as: god like strength, courage to... Show more content on

However Beowulf displayed vital traits needed in a great leader. At his lowest point, Beowulf
still gave his all; never accepting defeat. Accepting a taunting task such as this swim requires
enough courage as is, but to carry threw and be victorious demands a great respect none can
share. This plays into being a great leader when faced with harmful conflict. During times of low
moral, many look directly to their leadership to gain motivation. With Beowulf having such great
strength and courage second to none, it would allow him to make decisions that would instill
confidence and motivation in his men, likely allowing victory to follow. Coinciding with
courage and strength, both loyalty and courtesy are two other key elements that lay at the core
of being both a great warrior and leader. Beowulf perfectly exemplifies these two traits in his
willingness to help Hrothgar and his current need for help. What proves his loyalty doesn t come
straight from his heart, but rather the past and Hrothgar s history with Beowulf s father. In order
to resolve a gruesome blood feud between the Wulfings and Ecgtheow, Hrothgar paid a sum of
money to settle their differences. Hrothgar explains, This man is their son,/ here to follow up an
old friendship (375 376). Although Beowulf has no obligation to Hrothgar, he understands the
sacrifice that was made for his father and is grateful for his past help. Therefore assisting in the

idea of women in factories for war production. The fact that we were building bombers seemed a
dubious contribution to the war effort to the people who knew about it. (p.83). The book went
on to say how Clara Marie s father worried about the girl s work being checked by men for
accuracy, as if they were not capable of doing good work by their selves. There was a great deal
of men who hated the fact that school teachers were working in the factories, they felt as though

Parentese Parentese
It is always exciting for every parent to have babies. It means extra company, extra fun, and extra
love. The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly
born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this
language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged
as Parentese.
Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over
exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial
expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly
understand social cues.
Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little
babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their
child.
Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers.
Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the
University of Wisconsin.
Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they
are addressing babies.
They speak more slowly, use shorter sentences, talk at a higher pitch and swoop their pitch up and
down more often than when they are speaking to other adults.
Babies are a curious bunch, and will do whatever with the

Andre Dubue psychological strategies came from his emotions of horrific events. Dubus went
through a terrible experience that changed his life forever. Even after he got over that he will be

able to reflect them on paper. Dubus focus was to let the people know what is real and that life
is short. People claim that the only way for someone to ease the pain is to take justice into your
own hands. When the system let someone release on bail for murder, the family becomes
devastated and angry. When Frank s father found out that Richard was released this made him
very angry. Matt s wife did not feel safe out in the public when she saw Richard. Matt knew that
he had to do something because Richard should not have been released. When a topic of this has a

Humans are complex beings. We have different motivations, goals, and aspirations, but what
influences us to having these goals and what motivates us to strive for them. Daniel Gilbert, in his

that we heavily rely on the acceptance of others. Our goals coincided with others because human

Description: Following the first public appearance of film in 1896 in London, England there were
numerous issues that arose; public safety and the content within films came to the forefront of
public concern. This led to local authorities such as The London City Council (LCC) possessing the
authority to decide all regulations and rules of film. This was the first form of censorship as we see
these local officials being able to ban films and later on decide what was morally acceptable within
film. In November 1912 the formation of the British Board of Film Censors ... Show more content

Step b: The annotation including word count:
Brown, the author of this specific chapter does an in depth coverage of the historical origins of the
British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). This chapter mainly dealt with the numerous conflicts
that the BBFC encountered during the silent era. The board was constantly challenged by groups
such as the London City Council (LCC) because of their firm belief that censorship should be
within their hands. Despite this the BBFC gained more legitimacy and control by 1924 following
the necessary interventions from the Home Office of England. Despite this Brown argues that the
councils continued to initiate disputes and in reality the BBFC faced even more issues surrounding
morality. Even though this book s central topic is the BBFC, it includes a substantial amount of
coverage on the presence of local authorities. The examples of each conflict between both groups
supports my thesis since it illustrates how key the role, local authorities play. Brown stresses the
importance of the conflicts that shaped the BBFC and how the board s battle for acceptance was
underpinned by the moral concerns of local authorities.

The Belief Of God, And The Faith
Many individuals question the belief of God, and the faith that so many people place in Him.
What is not recognized is that people place their faith in others and in things of this world on a
day to day basis. When we get into a car, a plane or a boat we trust and believing that this vehicle,
pilot and this captain is going to take us to the destination we are trying to reach, we think the
person behind the wheel has the power to get us there. It is not us who can take us to our
endpoint, but God who allows us to get there. There is no easy route to where we are going; no
gps can take us to the path of salvation. The only way to our endpoint, landing pad or treasure is
through Faith. Faith in the Father, son and The Holy Spirit. If someone felt in their heart that they
would like to accept Jesusas their personal savior, I know that He will welcome them with love,
mercy and opened arms and they shall be saved. His love, mercy, and Salvation are sufficient for all.
God s love is expressed in the bible in numerous ways. God has shown me His love in a number of
ways, and I am forever grateful of his ultimate sacrifice, His one and only son Jesus (John 3:16).
Love is an action verb. It is a decision and an act that can be performed to positively impact the
lives of others. The apostle John said, By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you
love one another (John 13:35) (Weider Guitierrez, 2013). Jesus carried the cross because of his
great love for us

The Between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With A Screen (...
The art world has been host to a vast menagerie of talent, intellect, and creativity for about as
long as human culture has existed. It has grown, developed, and changed just as humanity has.
Naturally, with such an impressively expansive history, various avenues of art are visited time
and time again by new artists. Artists seek not only to bring their own personal flavor and
meaning to timeless concepts, but to find new ways to approach them. While not every single
creator and craftsman can make such a great impact on art or the world, their efforts have given
birth to some truly magnificent and unique works. In an effort to create a more meaningful
understanding, as well a deeper appreciation, of the nuances, techniques, and design choices
employed in these attempts, a comparison will be made between Edouard Vuillard s Interior
With a Screen (1909 1910) and Henri Matisse s Blue Nude (Souvenir of Biskra) (1907). In this
essay, each artist s approach to the subject of the female nude will be closely analyzed,
compared, and contrasted, as will their styles of painting, handling of visual elements, and their
use of the principles of design. An interpretation of each work and what the artist intended when
creating it will also be provided. The analysis of these paintings will begin with Vuillard s oil
painting Interior With a Screen. This piece depicts a female nude placed in the interior a large and
furnished room; the woman appears to be slightly hunched over

The Nazi Party s Inner Circle Essay
How can ordinary people come to commit atrocities against defenceless victims? Hitler was an
evil man, or at least was prepared to employ evil actions to achieve his goals. There is very little
in literature to suggest anything contrary to this opinion. Most literature suggests that while
Hitler had some level of power over Himmler and the rest of the Nazi Party s inner circle, they
were also well aware of the extent and implications of their actions. Despite this, the atrocities of
the Holocaust were not carried out by these evil leaders, but instead were the actions of
thousands of ordinary people across Europe. In discussing how these people can be motivated to
commit atrocities, I will focus on Christopher Browning s analysis of Holocaust police battalions,
along with contradictory evidence. I will also compare the motivations of Hutu civilians in the
mid 1990s, and how their experience supports and undermines Browning s theory. Browning is
seen as a pioneer of Holocaust Studies, and his literature has drawn great respect and acceptance
from the academic world (USHRI 1996). As such, I will take Browning s theory as my hypothetical
explanation of how ordinary people come to commit atrocities against defenceless victims.
Browning believes that indoctrination , along with the pressing circumstances of a dehumanising
war , pushed ordinary men to commit atrocities of which they normally they would have considered
themselves incapable (Browning 1992). Browning s

Short Summary Of Pyotr Tchaikovsky
Pyotr Tchaikovsky was one of the most loved composers in Russia. On May 7, 1840, in Votkinsk
in the Vyatka region of Russia, Tchaikovsky was born to a middle class family and was the
second son of Lieutenant Colonel Ilya Petrovich Tchaikovsky, chief mine inspector of the
Kamsko Votkinsk mines and metallurgical. Not much is said about Tchaikovsky mother, but we
do know that she, Alexandra Andreyevna, was the second wife out of three, had an ear for music
and played the piano, she was able to speak two languages: French and German. The two had six
children together and one child from his previous marriage. At age four, Tchaikovsky composed
his first piece Our Mama in Petersburg , his father was impressed by the small composition, but
thought it was a phase. In 1844, the education of the young Tchaikovsky and his siblings was put in
the hands of Fanny DГјrbach, a twenty two year old French Governess. She noticed that young
Pyotr Tchaikovsky had different qualities from his brothers and sisters, he did not care about his
appearance, but he was very affectionate and had a big heart. Fanny DГјrbach claimed that young
Tchaikovsky would start tapping on the window pane, playing a tune he that would be trapped in
his head, she considered his obsession with music unhealthy. (Pg. 13. Tchaikovsky , Weinstock.). In

Welcome to the Windy City
Chicago, Illinois is well known to be the home of many shootings, and other heinous crimes.
However, Chicago isn t always plagued by sadness, and bullets; it also has some amazing traits.
Chicago is made up of 234 square miles of dazzling buildings that look as though they go upwards
for miles accompanied by a beautiful skyline that never seems to end; fun places to visit, and
exquisite food. This classy city of almost three million people is surprisingly most known for its
messy deep dish pizza and loaded Chicago style hot dogs (What is Chicago known for).

of the beauty that would surround me sets fire to my creativity. I love fall colors and smells, the
autumn season sends every one of my senses into frenzy. From the smells of coffee that people
are drinking, to the sounds of laughter, and chittering teeth from people who didn t dress
warmly enough. Seeing lovers hurriedly walking hand in hand, trying to get out of the chilly
weather, and the drip of the last night s rain as it slips from the leaves, you can even taste the air,
and how crisp it is. Though by late October and early November, temperatures start to drop, and

Peter Paul Rubens Massacre Of The Innocents
Religious imagery has been a staple in artistic culture throughout history. It has been used to
communicate ideals and concepts to communities while encouraging the worship of a holy being.
Often, it also represents certain important qualities of the artist responsible for the making. In terms
of Catholicism, biblical scenes have been painted, sculpted, and repeatedly represented artistically
in order to provide a strictly visual representation of what many believe is Gods word. The content
that is displayed in these works is often graphic in order to convey the intensity and importance of
what is being shown. It is important that viewers see and understand the brutality of certain sacred
events so as to educate themselves and to prevent themselves from committing or supporting any
correlated evils.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A particularly vivid scene is displayed in Peter Paul Rubens first portrayal of the slaughter of
many innocent civilians of Bethlehem. The Context of Peter Paul Reuben s Massacre of the

chosen to paint, through the obvious influences of the techniques used in the creation, and the
artist s intention when creating the piece. Each of these components speaks to who Rubens is as
an artist and as a person. An artist s work is an acceptable expression of their identity because
each piece is a reflection their beliefs, a reflection of their influences and who they look up to, and

Rhetorical Analysis Of Women s Rights Activist Mary...
In her book about education as a vehicle for social mobility of women in society, author,
philosopher, and women s rights activist Mary Wollstonecraft uses several rhetorical devices to
build her argument about women s roles in society. She uses a comparison and contrast expository
mode to help people understand the modern womans experience, especially as it differs from the
experience of men, appeal to pity to create an emotional connection with her audience, and
restrained diction to show how confined women are in society, all through an iconoclastic and
indignant tone.
She compares the few tasks that civilized women are able to perform with the wide variety of
tasks that men routinely perform in order to illustrate how little autonomy the modern woman has.
For instance, while a male soldier can march and counter march and manipulate the senate to work
for them, women do not have any of these opportunities. Men have so much more power; they
govern everything that goes on outside the house, and have a lot more freedom in what they do.
Even in a relationship, the man is responsible and the women is reduced to a cypher, she claims.
Furthermore, it is extremely difficult for a woman to get a job that pays enough so she can be
financially independent of her husband; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

situations were, even if this seemingly civilized society. Women s lives, she claimed, were marked
by degradation and servitude. Although, these traits could be hidden behind a facade of propriety,
women were still repressed and did not have the autonomy that their male counterparts did. In
current society, women are viewed as pitiful dependents, but they have so much more potential, she
argues. And through a concerted effort of all men and women, women can and should become
more integrated into society, she

1.According to industry analysts, acquisition can increase the company s global footprint, which
means it can achieve publicity on an international scale. It is conducive for Tata to increase the
company s business diversity across markets and product segments, which brings Tata advanced
technology, low cost engineering and design to the industry. Based on Market analyses,
acquisition is a fast way to bring the brand into a new market. The competitive advantage was the

Besides, from the experience the Nano has in the India market, we can clearly see the pros and
cons that fit with customers needs. But, there may be threats that come from strong competitors
like BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes. It is undeniable that the weakness of brand image for Tata and
new products and market buildings are also big problems. The cons for Tata are challenges from
other competitors since they share the risk with each other and unclearly market shares. The last
action Tata may choose is complementary strategic. Tata can grow a competitive advantage if they
purchase Jaguar and Land Rover. The pro in this situation is that it can bring the well known brands
emerging in the Indian car market an opportunity. Admittedly that offers Tata a high certification
across the global market within a brief period. The cons may have is partners fail to use their
resources in the market or inadequate contracts unsure creating value chain.
4. I think the diversifying strategic alliance is the best option for Tata, because we know in a long
way Tata Motorswere highly dependent on Indian markets. So in that way, it will be less
dependent on the Indian market. As a key to acquisition, if Tata purchase Jaguar and Land Rover,
it can bring separate market share reputation and more. In this case, Tata can avoid the damage to
brand image. Besides, Jaguar and Land Rover both can increase the design services and sourcing

Twitter In Presidential Elections
The introduction of media has significantly impacted the way candidates campaign during the
United States presidential debate cycles. While mainstream media outlets (i.e. televised newscasts,
radio broadcasts) have played an important role in providing live coverage of events in which
candidates spoke about their platforms, the purpose of the media was completely altered with the
introduction of social media, specifically Twitter. While journalism was meant to be an unbiased
practice, Twitter and other social media sites have taken on the role of a biased news source,

should see social media platforms, particularly Twitter, as a catalyst for future change. The use of

candidates, plenty of media exposure to a differentiated group of voters. Additionally, social media
grants candidates more time to directly communicate with voters on issues that they are particularly
passionate about. Furthermore, candidates have the opportunity to use feedback from social media
sites to predict future winners of the popular vote well before the election. The millennial

Feudalism During The Middle Ages
Feudalism is the military, social, and political system of the Middle Ages based on protective
alliances and land holding. The word comes from the Latin word feudum which means fief, an
estate of land. The feudal system was based off of the obligations and rights of people living
during the time. Landowners, also known as lords, gave their land in exchange for military
protection and other services. This granted land was called a fief, meanwhile, the person receiving
it was called a vassal. Feudalismnot only depended but also functioned on the control of land.
Without this two sided bargain feudalism would not become successful during the Middle Ages.

In Red Scarf Girl, I noticed one huge author s craft technique throughout the story. The author
used a lot of inner thinking. This makes sense, since the story is the author telling her own story.
The inner thinking really shows the main character s biggest conflict: her debating whether or
not she should stick with her family or take her own path and follow society. She is always
thinking about this and the two sides to it. Jiang doesn t know what is right, and she is always
thinking about that to herself. Another small technique I noticed was dialogue. In some books,
there s not a lot of dialogue but I really noticed it in Red Scarf Girl. This really helped to show the
two sides to Jiang s conflict.
When she s talking to say a Liberation supporter, the way they are talking shows how Jiang
supports that side. On the other hand, when Jiang is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

There is a lot of bad and inappropriate words used in this book. Throughout the story, many of

Summary Of Doing Nothing Is Something By Anna Quindlen
Deep in Thought The illustrious American author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Anna Quindlen,
wrote the article, Doing Nothing is Something , with the aspiration of reaching out to her

to explore your mind , is negatively impacting the creativity of our children and diminishing
family cohesiveness. Quindlen stresses that children in today s society are as over scheduled as
we are and that is saying something (Quindlen 82). Although it is recommended for children to
interact with others to build their social skills, it is essential for them to spend time in solitude
in order to shape and expand their mind s creativity; to find themselves and discover who they

The Scientific Systems Of Engineering Management
Introduction
Engineering Management refers to a specialized type of management which is primarily concerned
with the application of certain engineering principles to business activities or practice. In other
words, Engineering Management can be said to be a career which unites the technological problem
solving aspect of engineering and the administrative, planning, and organizational capabilities of
management to facilitate the efficient operation of activities within a sophisticated establishment
from the start to the end.
Primarily, Engineering Management focuses on the planning, installation, improvement, and design
of integrated systems of material, people, information, energy, and equipment. This is achieved
through utilization of specialized skills and knowledge in the physical sciences, social sciences, and
mathematical disciples. This knowledge and expertise are integrated into methods and principles of
engineering analysis and design (Haverila and Fehr 574). Through this incorporation, they can
evaluate, specify, and predict results that are likely to be obtained. The scientific systems in
engineering management are majorly responsible for designing, implementing, and developing
models to be used as the basis for evaluation and analysis of results. Comparative analysis is
achieved by taking into consideration the relationship that exists between engineering aspects and
the management duties such as organizing, planning, controlling, and leading. Moreover, these

is taken to be Rinehart. By wearing dark green shades and a big hat for a disguise, people in the
streets recognize him as the man Rinehart. Through their perceptions of him, the narrator sees how
Rinehart has taken on the conflicting identities of a lover, hipster, runner, pimp, briber, and
Reverend. He was a broad man, a man of parts who got around. Rinehart the rounder. (p.376).
Rinehart appears to be especially devious and deceptive, in reality; he has simply learned to adapt
to his environment. Two of the three leaders offer the narrator lifestyles that would help him gain
some recognition or benefits like Brother Jack and his brotherhood or Rinehart and the ability of
disguise. Ras doesn t necessarily offer a lifestyle to the narrator, and instead they become fast
enemies. The narrator develops different relationships with the leaders of the three brotherhoods.
Each of the leaders develops either a friendship or becomes an enemy except Rinehart who is

Developing a Christian Worldview of Spiritual Formation and Growth
Liberty University
Abstract
This paper looks at how spiritual formation and growth can develop through a person s lifetime.
The goal is to show how modern day human development theories relate to Christlike living.
Erikson s developmental theory and Kohlberg s moral development theory both give a guide to
maturity in a secular worldview. By looking at Jesus Sermon on the Mount, we can see God s
directions to living a Christlike life in a Christian worldview. It s also important to look at the
influence of the Holy Spirit in developing a person s spiritual life. By relating a worldly view of
personal development with god s guidance through scripture and the Holy ... Show more content on

stagnation is characterized by achieving meaningful work and possible a family (Berger). Finally,
Berger explains later adulthood, integrity vs. despair focuses on older adults trying to make sense
out of their lives.
Looking at these stages through a Christian worldview, these stages take on a different
spiritually relevant developmental outcome. Tate amp; Parker (2007) explain trust vs. mistrust
now can be characterized by the born again gaining trust in the goodness of God. Autonomy vs.
shame and doubt now focuses on one s ability to build self control and the willpower to resist
evil (Tate amp; Parker). The Christian worldview of the play stage can be characterized by an
individual s initiative to begin spiritual disciplines such as prayer, Biblical studying, and listening
for God s voice in their life (Tate amp; Parker). The industry vs. inferiority stage now focuses on
an individual s dedication to service within the Kingdom (Tate amp; Parker). In the identity vs.
identity confusion stage, a Christian worldview will focus on an individual s role in the body of
Christ (Tate amp; Parker). Tate and Parker describe the spiritual young adult stage as being
characterized by developing a close and intimate relationship with Christ. Tate and Parker admit the
final two spiritual stages, middle adulthood and later adulthood, are characterized by an individual
reaching spiritual adulthood and become spiritual authorities that begin mentoring those individuals

Goodman Brown Innocence
From Ignorant Innocence to Enlightened Corruption
Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in 1804, in the city of Salem in Massachusetts. His familial
ancestors were amongst the earliest settlers of the Massachusetts Bay Colony. One of Nathaniel s
grandfathers served as a judge in the 1692 Salem witch trials and had condemned twenty five
women to death. Nathaniel Hawthorn incorporates both his fascination and his horror at his family
s involvement in the witch trials and focuses much of his literature on the social history of New
England and the Puritans. In Nathaniel Hawthorne s short story Young Goodman Brown,
Hawthorne expresses his true feelings about the negative beliefs of the puritan religion through a
coming of age story, showing the loss of innocence that every Puritan goes through to reach
maturity. In the story, Hawthorn utilizes duplicity in his naming of the characters. The main
character s name is Young Goodman Brown, and is representative of the archetypal Puritan. In the
beginning of the story, Goodman Brown seems content to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Instead, the Puritan views are kept alive on public morality, in which each person keeps faith in
their beliefs, upon seeing that others are content to do the same. When Goodman Brown meets
up with the old man, he is surprised to also encounter the spiritual advisor Goody Cloyse, the
Minister, and Deacon Gookin. Upon arrival at the ritual clearing, he is horrified to see all of the
village s upstanding citizens participating in a ritual of the Devil. In the aftermath of Goodman
Brown s dream, he is no longer able to function in the Puritan society as he sees sins in every
villager and feels betrayed and

Essay On Health Care Surrogate
In addition to the PSDA, in 1993, the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State
Laws approved the Uniform Health Care Decisions Act (UHCD Act), which created a basic rule
for recognizing and honoring all kind of written or oral statement as an advance directive. The
goal of UDCD act was to ensure uniformity and consistency in the implementation of advance
directive across different states. Despite the adoption of the UHCD Act by several states, there
are still vast differences in the advance health care directive laws of the 50 states and the District
of Columbia. Apart from this, The Illinois General Assembly in 1991 passed the Illinois Health
Care Surrogate Act which applies to all medical treatment decisions. The Act provides standards
for making decisions about treatment for individuals who lack decision making capacity and who
and have not executed a durable power of attorney for health care or a living will ( www.isms.org).
In such cases the act allows family members, friends or guardians to act as a Healthcare surrogate.
The health care surrogate in consultation with the attending physiciancan make medical treatment
decisions on behalf of a minor or an adult patient who lacks decisional capacity. According to the
law, the order of priority in determining the surrogate decision maker is the patient s guardian,
followed by the patient s spouse, any adult child, parents, adult sibling, adult grandchild, and lastly
a close friend. While the federal laws like... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Duadi Azibo White American Psychology
Psychology can be defined as the study of the mind and behavior. Each individual thinks differently
and have different beliefs. Also, everyone has a different personality. Therefore, everyone cannot
have the same treatment. Reading the statement by Duadi Azibo, I agree with the statement White
American psychology may not always be wholly relevant or applicable in the analysis or treatment
of Blacks or African Americans. There has been discriminationbetween White Americans and
African Americans, so it would be immoral to use white psychology for the treatment of Blacks or
African Americans. To treat a person of color, one must first understand the struggles that African
Americans once faced. White Americans and Blacks or African Americans

Color symmetry Essay
Color versus Marketing Strategy
Why is Facebook blue? I do not know the answer; I think it should be complex but actually, it is
simple. It is because Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Facebook is red green color blind; blue is the
color Mark can see the best. Do not believe it? Not highly scientific, right? That may not be the
case for Facebook. In our daily life, colors actually affect our purchasing decisions. After all, sight
is the strongest developed sense in most human beings.
How do colors really affect us, and what is the science of colors in marketing? I am taking the
principle of marketing class now, as we strive to make improvements to our product Earthgrains,

For example, variations in value are used to create a focal point for the design of a picture.
Therefore, when we think about black, we always use the wrods definite, credible, strength,
powerful, precise, professional, and direct to describe it. When we think about green: natural,
organic, youth, nurturing, instructional, education and adventurous. When we think about blue:
credibility, clean, focused, medical, professional and power. There are so many distinctions
between different color feelings and their purposes in the corporate world. In view of this, black is
best for construction, corporate oil, financial, fashion and mining. Green is best for medicine,
science, government, recruitment and human resources. Blue is best for medical, scientific, health
care and legal.
When we are compelled to buy products, color has a major role. Why the KFC and McDonald s
the top popular fast food restaurants in the world? It is not only because of the quality of foods
and their reputation, but also related to their brand colors. Those two brands all use red as
background color. Why? Red invokes power. The most emotionally intense color, red stimulates
a faster heartbeat and breathing. If you are hungry and you see something in red at the same
time, you will feel more hunger than before. In fact, it has some psychological effect. But it can
make more people buy fast food first when they are hungry. Red is also the color of love. They use
red to grab

My Philosophy Of Nursing Philosophy My philosophy of nursing My own nursing philosophy arises from my Knowledge as a nurse, personal beliefs and experiences, I have gathered throughout the years from my interactions with diverse patient population and other healthcare professionals, while working in different setting as a nursing in the health care. This also addresses nurse s ethics, goal and values as it relates to my nursing practice. My Nursing Philosophy is based on five components: nursing, Person, environment, holistic care and health. Person: One of the central concept in nursing care is person or human being (McEwen and Wills 2007). My nursing philosophy focused on treating each person as a unique individual that deserves to be valued and treated with respect, dignity, compassion. Also deserves excellent service, regardless of their socio economic status, age, religious preference, gender, spiritual condition, sexual orientation, physical condition and race. Patient should be empowered as a member of a support system, they deserved to be involved, educated and informed in all aspect their health care. Nursing attitude towards a person can indirectly or directly affect a person in your care. • 4. Analysis Of Grace Paley s Life And Experiences Of Men And... The author, Grace Paley, constructs short stories that illustrate the lives and experiences of men and women living in New York City. This individual account captures the experiences of two Jewish immigrants in the community where she was raised. Anxiety has a protagonist character that shows apprehension about the probable destruction of the world. She confronts people that roam the street to warn them about the danger they face and how to protect society. The panicky narrator, with anxiety, tries to conserve society, therefore she alerts strangers of their wrongdoings, questions their actions, and gives them advice. The narrator s anxiety arises against the two men for the actions they display to their children; which is our future generation. The lady and the two fathers have distinct views on how the children should be treated. One father places his daughter from his shoulders to the ground roughly after she makes him angry. Let s not go too far, said the young father. We could get depressed. She WAS jumping around on my poor back and hollering Oink, oink the father pleaded with the aged lady (Paley 833). Her concern is the father should not roughly place his child upon the ground like he did, but the fathers have a diverse assumption on it. In the father s eyes, his actions were acceptable for the actions of his daughter s movements on his shoulders. The father felt his actions would prevent the daughter from demonstrating behavior like that anymore. The lady ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. Tale Of Two Cities Revenge Humanity is a spectrum. There is no one person who is unequivocally bad or good. Every individual is ambiguous, and merely has the strength of their character and the choices they make. In some cases, these choices are influences by external factors that push fundamentally good individuals to commit deplorable acts. One of the most interesting of these factors is the concept of revenge, and the lengths to which humans will go in its pursuit. Throughout A Tale of Two Cities , Charles Dickens is deliberate in his portrayal of the deleterious effect that a desire for revenge can have on even the most unimpeachable of characters, especially in the lives of Dr. Manette, Madam Defarge, and Gaspard. The case of Dr. Alexandre Manettein regard to revenge... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Charles Defarge harbors resentment for the aristocracy and wants revenge against the disservice that they do to the common people, as he grew up impoverished in a small town in France. This hatred can be seen in the scene in which he interacts with the Marquis, when he throws the golden coin back in the face of the embodiment of the nobility he so despises. It is this desire for revenge that leads Mr. Defarge to become a leader of the Revolution, heading the charge to storm the Bastille and leading the group of Jacques. It is common knowledge that revolution is bloody business, and Mr. Defarge has no qualms spilling blood. In several points in the book, he is willing to compromise his morals to further the ends of the revolution, even displaying Dr. Manette in his most frazzled state to the Jacques to inspire passion for the revolution. Despite this clear ethical ambiguity, he is something of a sympathetic revolutionary; Mr. Defarge is unwilling to cross some lines that don t even exist in the mind of his wife. At one point in the book, Defarge speaks to this idea: Well, well, reasoned Defarge, but one must stop somewhere. After all, the question is still where? His wife s reply is merely: At extermination. A Tale of Two Cities is a classic piece that explores many motifs through the lives of the characters it involves. The consequences of the desire for revenge and how it introduces ambiguity to the lives of Dr. Manette, Madam Defarge, and Mr. Defarge are masterfully played out in this literary work, in such a way that gives warning and hope at the same time. The message is clear: we are all human, and we are all in control. To what extent we allow the desire for revenge to control us is entirely in our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the process of searching the vehicle Frodo and Bilbo find a wallet in the glove compartment and a dead body in the back of the van. Upon the discovery of the body, Frodo chases after Gandalf and arrests him inside the house. Inside the home, officers find and seize evidence of drug trafficking and poaching. As a result, it created less drag onto the marble compared to water and cornstarch solution. The United States has long been divided by political lines. Individuals are identified as either Democrat or Republican, Liberal or Conservative, Left wing or Right wing. Normal distribution of the population would put the majority, regardless of political affiliation within the middle or moderate ideals. Is the polarizing ideals of our current two party system destined to be overcome by groupthink? Groupthink is not a new phenomenon. The idea of groupthink originally was coined by William H. Whyte (1952) in Fortune magazine: Groupthink being a coinage and, admittedly, a loaded one a working definition is in order. We are not talking about mere instinctive conformity it is, after all, a perennial failing of mankind. What we are talking about is a rationalized conformity an open, articulate philosophy which holds that group values are not only expedient but right and good as well (p. 114). Many Americans still disagree with this decision and believe in the importance of prayerin schools and that is the constitutional right of every American. • 11. Determining the Energy Requirements of an Individual The determination of patients energy needs is important in the clinical practice since the balance between energy intake and expenditure has important implications to the patient s health, as well as underfeeding and overfeeding. However, identifying the patients energy expenditure and designing adequate nutritional support for them can be a task, and measurements and estimative calculations are currently used in the clinical setting for this purpose1,2. Determining the energyrequirements of an individual may be difficult since many factors are involved such as age, gender, body composition, physical activity, nutritional status, illness and the goals of the nutritional treatment. As there are no methods which could involve all these factors, dietitians have to be careful and carry a clinical judgement when determining these requirementsВі. Energy expenditure is characterized by the number of kcal used by the human body per day. In healthy individuals, energy expenditure can be divided into basal metabolic rate (BMR), thermic effect of food and physical activity. In not so physically active individuals or hospitalized individuals, the BMR is by far the largest component of total daily energy expenditure, accounting for around 60 75% of total expenditure1,2,3,4. It s the energy required to maintain the organism functions, temperature and survival and, in healthy individuals, it can vary according to differences in body composition (fat free mass proportion), weight, ... Despite its continuous aging, the epic poem Beowulf is still currently discussed in modern day English courses, allowing the reader to unfold and discuss certain literary themes associated throughout the epic poem. One arguable theme associated with the Anglo Saxon styled poem is that if a great warrior can also be a prominent ruler of their land or not. A warrior is usually associated with being victorious in challenging situations, automatically associating themselves as being a great leader or king of a kingdom. However, heroic actions cannot simply determine a great leader, but rather the character s traits unique to each great warrior which are needed to produce a great leader. Traits such as: god like strength, courage to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However Beowulf displayed vital traits needed in a great leader. At his lowest point, Beowulf still gave his all; never accepting defeat. Accepting a taunting task such as this swim requires enough courage as is, but to carry threw and be victorious demands a great respect none can share. This plays into being a great leader when faced with harmful conflict. During times of low moral, many look directly to their leadership to gain motivation. With Beowulf having such great strength and courage second to none, it would allow him to make decisions that would instill confidence and motivation in his men, likely allowing victory to follow. Coinciding with courage and strength, both loyalty and courtesy are two other key elements that lay at the core of being both a great warrior and leader. Beowulf perfectly exemplifies these two traits in his willingness to help Hrothgar and his current need for help. What proves his loyalty doesn t come straight from his heart, but rather the past and Hrothgar s history with Beowulf s father. In order to resolve a gruesome blood feud between the Wulfings and Ecgtheow, Hrothgar paid a sum of money to settle their differences. Hrothgar explains, This man is their son,/ here to follow up an old friendship (375 376). The company part might be a bit of a challenge, as we know that all babies are not exactly born with the ability to speak right off the bat. Parents have since then learned to adjust to this language barrier by speaking to babies in this babble kind of manner that experts have even pegged as Parentese. Parentese is, in its simplest sense described by ParentingPassage.com, a way where parents over exaggerate words to babies, often also heightening pitch and even throwing in a few goofy facial expressions to attract even more attention. Along with their grabbed attention is how they slowly understand social cues. Talking to your babies, Parentese or what, is a way to start your baby s transition from little babbles to actual words. It is also quite useful when it comes to improving a parent s bond with their child. Some parents just have this instinctive drive to go ahead into baby talk, especially mothers. Research on this subject was done by Professor Jenny Saffran, who teaches psychology at the University of Wisconsin. Saffran explained, We ve known for a long time that adults change the way they speak when they are addressing babies. Brown (Ed.), Behind the scenes at the BBFC. (pp. 1 15). London, England: Palgrave Macmillan. Step b: The annotation including word count: Brown, the author of this specific chapter does an in depth coverage of the historical origins of the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC). This chapter mainly dealt with the numerous conflicts that the BBFC encountered during the silent era. The board was constantly challenged by groups such as the London City Council (LCC) because of their firm belief that censorship should be within their hands. Despite this the BBFC gained more legitimacy and control by 1924 following the necessary interventions from the Home Office of England. Despite this Brown argues that the councils continued to initiate disputes and in reality the BBFC faced even more issues surrounding morality. Even though this book s central topic is the BBFC, it includes a substantial amount of coverage on the presence of local authorities. The examples of each conflict between both groups supports my thesis since it illustrates how key the role, local authorities play. Brown stresses the importance of the conflicts that shaped the BBFC and how the board s battle for acceptance was underpinned by the moral concerns of local authorities. ... What is not recognized is that people place their faith in others and in things of this world on a day to day basis. When we get into a car, a plane or a boat we trust and believing that this vehicle, pilot and this captain is going to take us to the destination we are trying to reach, we think the person behind the wheel has the power to get us there. It is not us who can take us to our endpoint, but God who allows us to get there. There is no easy route to where we are going; no gps can take us to the path of salvation. The only way to our endpoint, landing pad or treasure is through Faith. Faith in the Father, son and The Holy Spirit. If someone felt in their heart that they would like to accept Jesusas their personal savior, I know that He will welcome them with love, mercy and opened arms and they shall be saved. His love, mercy, and Salvation are sufficient for all. God s love is expressed in the bible in numerous ways. God has shown me His love in a number of ways, and I am forever grateful of his ultimate sacrifice, His one and only son Jesus (John 3:16). Love is an action verb. It is a decision and an act that can be performed to positively impact the lives of others. • 25. The Between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With A Screen (... The art world has been host to a vast menagerie of talent, intellect, and creativity for about as long as human culture has existed. It has grown, developed, and changed just as humanity has. Naturally, with such an impressively expansive history, various avenues of art are visited time and time again by new artists. Artists seek not only to bring their own personal flavor and meaning to timeless concepts, but to find new ways to approach them. While not every single creator and craftsman can make such a great impact on art or the world, their efforts have given birth to some truly magnificent and unique works. In an effort to create a more meaningful understanding, as well a deeper appreciation, of the nuances, techniques, and design choices employed in these attempts, a comparison will be made between Edouard Vuillard s Interior With a Screen (1909 1910) and Henri Matisse s Blue Nude (Souvenir of Biskra) (1907). In this essay, each artist s approach to the subject of the female nude will be closely analyzed, compared, and contrasted, as will their styles of painting, handling of visual elements, and their use of the principles of design. An interpretation of each work and what the artist intended when creating it will also be provided. The analysis of these paintings will begin with Vuillard s oil painting Interior With a Screen. This piece depicts a female nude placed in the interior a large and furnished room; the woman appears to be slightly hunched over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. The Nazi Party s Inner Circle Essay How can ordinary people come to commit atrocities against defenceless victims? Hitler was an evil man, or at least was prepared to employ evil actions to achieve his goals. There is very little in literature to suggest anything contrary to this opinion. Most literature suggests that while Hitler had some level of power over Himmler and the rest of the Nazi Party s inner circle, they were also well aware of the extent and implications of their actions. Despite this, the atrocities of the Holocaust were not carried out by these evil leaders, but instead were the actions of thousands of ordinary people across Europe. In discussing how these people can be motivated to commit atrocities, I will focus on Christopher Browning s analysis of Holocaust police battalions, along with contradictory evidence. I will also compare the motivations of Hutu civilians in the mid 1990s, and how their experience supports and undermines Browning s theory. Browning is seen as a pioneer of Holocaust Studies, and his literature has drawn great respect and acceptance from the academic world (USHRI 1996). As such, I will take Browning s theory as my hypothetical explanation of how ordinary people come to commit atrocities against defenceless victims. Browning believes that indoctrination , along with the pressing circumstances of a dehumanising war , pushed ordinary men to commit atrocities of which they normally they would have considered themselves incapable (Browning 1992). In her book about education as a vehicle for social mobility of women in society, author, philosopher, and women s rights activist Mary Wollstonecraft uses several rhetorical devices to build her argument about women s roles in society. She uses a comparison and contrast expository mode to help people understand the modern womans experience, especially as it differs from the experience of men, appeal to pity to create an emotional connection with her audience, and restrained diction to show how confined women are in society, all through an iconoclastic and indignant tone. She compares the few tasks that civilized women are able to perform with the wide variety of tasks that men routinely perform in order to illustrate how little autonomy the modern woman has. For instance, while a male soldier can march and counter march and manipulate the senate to work for them, women do not have any of these opportunities. Men have so much more power; they govern everything that goes on outside the house, and have a lot more freedom in what they do. Even in a relationship, the man is responsible and the women is reduced to a cypher, she claims.
