Daniel Perkis completed a foundation portfolio in media studies over several months. He drew preliminary drafts over the summer and began his log book in September, documenting his progress. Daniel produced a front cover, contents page, and double page spread for a school magazine. He researched conventions for magazine layout and took photos of models for the spread. After feedback and revisions, Daniel analyzed each piece in his evaluation and uploaded his completed portfolio to a blog.

Week Beginning Work Completed
Summer Holidays Began to draw out the hand drawn drafts for thr preliminary
tasks although it may not have all the convetions it needed it still
had the basic layout which helped me when I started to make it.
Monday 8th September Tuesday:Began be completing the parts of the log book that I
could complete.
Friday:I completed the log book, I did reseach on publishes of
music magazines.
Monday 15th September Tuesday:Here I started produce the front cover of my school
magazine( preliminary task), I also started to attempt the
contents for this.

2. Friday: Here I got models and took photos and then inserted
them onto my front cover and my contents page.
Monday 22rd September Tuesday:Here I made sure that I had all the codes and
conventions that I needed on my front cover.
Friday: I got feedback on what people thought and made changes
upon what was said.
Monday 29th September Tuesday: Here I started to draw out my hard draw drafts for my
front cover, contents and double page spread.
Friday: On this day I started to produce my front cover, contents
and double page spread, I only started by making the template.
Monday 6th October Tuesday: I then went into more detail on how I wanted the pages
to look I left the space that I wanted my main image to go.
Friday: After getting all of the titles in the pages were coming
together and all that is needed is the main image.
Monday 13th October Tuesday: Here I got models to allow me to take photos of them
this took a while as I had to get thr right photo.
Friday: I then upload this to my pages but I had to edit and get rid
of the background so that it didn’t look werid on the page if
anyone had spots I also tried to get rid of them.
Monday 20st October Tuesday:I then had to learn about all the codes and conventions
that need to be on a front cover page of a musicmagazine.
Friday: After reseach I had to put everything that I have learnt
onto the my front cover so that it will look at professional as
possible.
Half Term

3. Monday 3th November Tuesday: I then had to to the same I had to reseach all of the
codes and convetions that need tot be on the contents page.
Friday: Again after reseach I then put everything I had found out
and made sure I had it if I did then I added it.
Monday 10th November Tuesday: I then had to do the same find out about all the codes
and convntions abput a double page spread.
Friday:Once I have found everything I made sure I had it if not I
added it .
Monday 17th November Tuesday:I then had to make my interview for the double page
spread I interview someone.
Friday: I then had to put it on my double page spread and make it
look neat and professional.
Monday 24th November Tuesday: Here I released that the pictureI had for my double
page spread doesn’t fit in with the page.
Friday: So here I asked the models again and got more pictures,
Monday 1nd December Tuesday:I then asked for feedback for people
Friday:I then made changes to any feedback that was given.
Monday 8th December Tuesday:I then went to my evualtion and anylised my front cover
page.
Friday:I then anylised my contents page.
Monday 15th December Tuesday: I then anaylised my double page spread.
Friday:I went back over all the pages to make sure that all the
pages worked together.

4. Christmas Holidays
Monday 5th January Tuesday:Completing further analysis of the production work I
completed in my evualtion. Analysing speciflly conventions of my
front page, contents and double page spread.
Friday:
Monday 12th January Tuesday:As I had completed all the parts of my log book and
evualtion I began to put everything onto my blog.
Friday:Continuation of completing areas of my blog
Monday 19th January Tuesday: I now uploaded all of my work up onto my blog and
made sure that everthing worked.
