School Structure And Family Influences
Education never really seemed to be priority in my hometown. Fresno, the 5th largest city in
California, is listed as the 8th least literate city in the US. I grew up in a part of town where less
than 75% of the residents age 25 and over received a high school diploma; less than 13% earned
a Bachelor s degree; and only 3% have a graduate or professional degree. It s surprising that I
even made it to graduate school after reading statistics like these. My objective is to reflect on my
school experience, and explore how culture, school structure and family influences contributed to
my successful completion of grades K 16, even when the odds were not in my favor.
I came from a working class family of six whose ethnicity was mixed my father, White and my
mother, Hispanic. My siblings and I all went to Slater Elementary School from Kindergarten to 6th
grade. The school was less than a mile from my home, and the community was made up mostly of
working and lower middle class families. The ethnic distribution of my neighborhood was 53.8%
Hispanic, 28.2% White, 9.3% Black, 5.5% Asian, and 2% mixed race. Coming from a mixed race
family had its own challenges. In addition to being a cultural outlier in the community, I was
always confused about who I was ethnically, and was forced to choose which one identified with
more (White or Hispanic) on standardized tests, or when participating with play groups.

1. What is Kraft Foods Inc. s corporate strategy? How has its corporate strategy evolved since its
independence in 2007?
Kraft has a strong global strategy. They found themselves operating in more than 80 countries,
which included 220 manufacturing and processing facilities and 228 distribution centers. Because
of the different regulations in each country related to food, they found themselves in need of several
different facilities for the manufacturing of their food products.

Kraft is clearly a strong competitor, as they remain one of the top contenders in each of their
industries. They are able to strongly differentiate their products from those of other companies to
capture a large share of the markets they participate in. They have a wide array of products that can
serve as subsituties for each other to keep consumers within their brands, but give them options on
which products to consume.

Anytime one is dealing with a transition in their life, there will always be the unknown. That s
exactly how I felt when retiring from the United States Army. After being with one career for 21
years of my life, that s all I really knew. I faced many challenges when dealing with Life after the

When I look up the meaning of metaphors in Webster it says a figure of speech in which a work for
one idea or thing is used in place of another to suggest a likeness between them. The Hours by
Michael Cunningham is enriched with many complex metaphors. While intertwining three different
woman s lives, Cunningham uses a wide range of metaphors to help mean something in one story
and tie into the next woman s story. Using deconstructive interpretation to investigate these
strategically placed metaphors can be difficult and exciting, yet challenging.
The flow of the novel starts as Woolf finds the opening line of her new novel: Mrs. Dalloway
decided she would buy the flowers herself. The flowers would proof an important metaphor in
the book. This thought of buying the flowers herself would link Woolf and Clarissa. Clarissa
states the same words to her lover in preparing for Richard s party. And yet the flowers would
reappear in Laura Browns life as her husband buys flowers for his own birthday. Flowers that
normally represent life and color ironically represent sadness and loneliness in this novel.

The relationship between the natural environment and human exchange is one that has been an
ongoing battle of overconsumption and a regulation on natural goods. Human interaction during the
Industrial Revolution spanning from the nineteenth and twentieth century has several contrasting
principles. In the nineteenth century, the excuse of overconsumption was for industrial economic
profit. Humans believed that over using natural resource was acceptable due to the belief that
natural resources were God s gift to man, and God would replenish the natural goods. However, the
overuse of natural goods results in smog, pollution, and water contamination which has various

consumption produced, but neglected the environment for their own social status and profit.

argument . I will be looking into the difference between the two philosophers who both believe in
God but have two different approaches on how they can both prove that God does exist. I would
