The Automotive Sector in Italy
The Automotive Sector in Italy I. Introduction: Sector Analysis Part A: Out of all the countries I have
visited in my life, Italy is definitely my favorite. Italy is located in southern Europe bordering
countries such as France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. With a population of over sixty million
people, Italy has a capitalist market with high GDP per capita and a well developed infrastructure.
According to the International Monetary Fund, it is the eighth largest economy in the entire world and
third biggest in Europe. After analyzing the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), the GDP of Italy
expanded by 10% in the fourth quarter of last year. From 1960 2013, the GDP growth rate averaged
63% per year. Their main industrial base is driven by producing high quality consumer goods. The
main sectors in Italy are tourism, iron and steel, machinery, textiles, food processing, shoes, clothing
(fashion), and one of the biggest being the auto sector. Italy joined the European Union in 1952, and
between then and now, their country has gone through growth rates well above 4%. However, after
1992, Italy s expansion rates fell below the European Union average. Ever since then, Italy s
government has been trying to revive their economy by increasing the amount of public spending. In
result, the public debt and budget deficit have attained unsustainable levels and the country has
recently gone through a tough recession. Now in 2014, Italy has actually returned to growth after

How Are Literary Devices Used In The Black Cat
The use of literary device is a vital part to Edgar Allan Poe s stories. They help show the meaning of
the short story and give information that is important to the narrative. Without any literary device it
will leave readers confused and wondering why certain things occurred. The Black Cat is a perfect
example of the use of literary device. Black cats have long been considered a symbol of bad luck, and
naming his story as such is a perfect example of literary devices. In The Black Cat, Edgar Allan Poe
uses point of view, imagery, and conflict to explain the human nature to act on impulse.
Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston Massachusetts, on January 19, 1809. When Poe was two his mom

self. Conflict is a problem or struggle between two opposing forces in a story, and the conflict in The
Black Cat is within the main character s own mind. The main character s decisions throughout the
story has a ...mysterious nature of the human (Stark). The main character grew up having a tender
disposition toward animals, but inevitably his true nature came out whereby ...the cause for the
aberrant behavior was human depravity and ...the perversity of the human heart (Stark). The reason
why the main character cuts the cat s eye out and subsequently kills it is that his internal despicable
nature was stronger than his childhood fondness of animals. Another conflict within the man is
between God s will and his own will. The choices the man makes can be thought of as odd reasoning
but also related to ...the mysterious relationship between divine providence and human volition
(Stark). He goes against God s will by drinking too much, torturing and murdering the black cat, and
with tremendous guilt in his soul he murders his wife accidentally when trying to murder his second
cat. His wicked human nature became stronger than his love for animals so that his choices would
haunt him and inevitably lead to his

Industrialization Of The Second Industrial Revolution
The Second Industrial Revolution, which reached its peak during 1870 to 1914, marked a significant
turning point in American history. Before this era of progression and industrial excellence, America
was on the verge of expansion like never before. From the vast amounts of land gained through the
Annexation of Texas in 1845, the British retreating from Oregon in 1846, and the Mexican cession of
Southwest territory guaranteed by the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848, (Engelman) America was
able to expand their territory and access new resources. Industrialization and factory growth in the
North was just budding and beginning to create economic success, along with spurring a rise of
urbanization and migration of foreign workers to America. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Other plentiful resources include coal, iron, oil, and ore (Pacheco). The utilization of these resources
led to a variety of new inventions. Using iron, one valuable invention that was created to make
agriculture more efficient was the iron bladed plow, created by Jethro Wood in 1819, that could plow
through all types of fields (Alchin). Perhaps the most important advancement was the development of
railroads, such as between 1863 and 1869 when the first transcontinental railroad was built using iron.
This railroad linked the east and west the Atlantic to the Pacific which was a true phenomenon during
this time (Alchin). Both these revolutionary creations, the bladed plow and the transcontinental
railroad, among many others, allowed the economy to prosper, due to the use of the natural resources.
The railroad increased efficiency and wealth for citizens nationwide, as this opened up new markets
for farmers, industrialists, and bankers who could now bring crops and cotton from the Mississippi
River Valley, wheat in the Midwest, and manufactured goods in upstate New York into a global market
based on credit (Engelman). Another significant reason why our economy prospered during this
revolution was the expanding labor force available to work in factories to mass produce products. The
opportunity to work in industrial factories attracted millions around the world, which lead to a
population explosion within cities, as almost 11

This type of technology has countless applications for personalized patient care and the study of the

reduce costs for the pharmaceutical industry in the manufacturing of their products (Stratasys II 1).
Initially we plan on selling two models of printers to service each of these two types of customers. For
the hospitals/clinics and academic researchers, we plan on marketing our Connex3 printer. We have

Manmade Disasters and Insurance Coverage
The problem at hand is the mitigation of man made disasters, and the lessening affect on humanity by
natural disasters. Many man made disasters are instigated by a natural disaster that a population is well
aware of, yet they choose to ignore the risk because they are not personally involved or think it will
not happen to them. Up to now the alternatives have basically focused on remediation by the
government after the fact. Somehow we have come to believe that if we build our house on a sandbar
that the government will make us whole when the hurricane washes it into the ocean. This is faulty on
so many levels. Government responsibility is an oxymoron in itself. In an article by James Payne, he
cites numerous incidents of the government being irresponsible and actually causing more damage to
the environment and populations because of mismanagement and poor oversight (James, 2010). There
is an inherent conflict of interest in hoping that your government will protect you since the
government requires funding and that funding can be hampered by restricting business and
construction. Your life and property becomes a risk the government is willing to take in exchange for
development and taxes. Insurance companies provide another alternative to this problem but they too
are hindered by governmental regulations intended to help people. Once again governmental agencies
have infringed on the private enterprise ability to resolve a problem. Left to their own devices

Similarities Between Shakespeare And One Flew Over The...
Despite the intended purpose of mental institutions helping patients, some hospitals may do the exact
opposite. In the novels Poppy Shakespeare by Clare Allan and One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest by
Ken Kesey the protagonists journey and conflict creates the notion that mental institutions are
ineffective and detrimental to patients well being. The beginning of each protagonist s story
demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the mental institutions, then reaching a pivotal moment,
McMurphy faces a downfall, whereas N s benefits her, and in the end both conflicts resolve to display
the unproductive and harmful effects. These novels also portray other characters who the mental
institutions affect negatively, including Dawn, Ellis and Poppy. In the beginning of each protagonist s
journey and conflict exhibits, the ineffectiveness of mental institutions as the authors describes the
protagonists situation. N s initial situation exposes the unproductivity and dehumanisation towards the
psychiatric patients: The way it worked at the Abaddon was the madder you was, the higher you gone,

New York s Jewish Museum
Crowdsourced Documentation September 16, 2016, Take me (I m Yours) took place at New York s
Jewish Museum, as its first ever exhibition made possible by the digital crowdfunding campaign via
Kickstarter. With a total $31,018 pledged, 340 backers helped forty two international and
intergenerational artists create 400,000+ artworks to be given away during this unconventional
exhibition, visitors are encouraged to participate, touch, and even take the artworks on view home
with them. Crowdfunding has become commonplace in the art world, but the Jewish Museum
launched its first Kickstarter campaign for a number of reasons, of course, in order to fabricate the
thousands upon thousands of artworks needed to keep the show fully stocked throughout its run. Also,
through Kickstarter platform, it creates a real Receive Me (I m Yours) dynamic for reaching a real
community around the museum, staging a online dialogue with its donors, eventually orchestrating a
unique network in which participatory behaviours translate the collective online vision into physical
space. Take me (I m Yours) aims to create a democratic space for all visitors to take ownership of
artworks, and curate their personal art collections, by subverting typical museum practices. Visitors
constantly transform the landscape of the galleries, bit by bit, through direct engagement, eventually
the exhibition will disappear entirely. (Museum, 2016a) Take Me (I m Yours) is an extremely radical

An Open Campus is a Bad Idea Essay
Wandering kids. Bumper to bumper traffic. Drug dealing. Is this the picture drawn when local students
have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be
allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb
local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime.
Truancy can occur among students if an open campus is accepted. If students have the privilege to
leave school for fifty whole minutes on their own, then they have the freedom to not come back. It
would break the trust between students and educators, and harsher rules would have to be enforced on
the open campus rule. Numerous students who decide to ditch the remaining periods would ... Show

Quietness is important to many people doing work in their homes and offices, and this can be
disrupted by groups of students walking around creating a stir. Lunch is possibly one of the most
praised recesses in a day because it is the longest break between work. Students who drive often go to
their favorite restaurants and diners for lunch. They can lead to an increase in traffic in the school and
neighborhood and mostly in the street with other student drivers. These recently inexperienced and
immature drivers are ordinarily involved in acts such as road rage and drag racing. Accidents can
occur with innocent motorists trying to get through the day. Disturbances can also consist of littering.
Students who usually roam the neighborhood and eat lunch do not properly dispose of their trash and
can simply through it anywhere. This waste becomes a displeasing mess and site for others to see what
an open campus can cause.
Numerous types of crimes can be committed if a school allows an open campus during the lunch hour.
Felonies usually occur during times when people are not at home. At lunch, students can have illegal
access to vulnerable houses if they choose to do so when they are wondering around in the streets.
This could lead to a crime increase among a neighborhood, and cause disputes and problems. Citizens
feel safe in their neighborhoods, but crime and robberies can make them feel uneasy. They would need
to purchase state of the art security

the primary intent of such a film to thrill and chill the audiences in turn. Jack Nicholson should be
applauded for taking his subject matter seriously and emerged with a perfectly tuned performance. He

menace easily dispelling fears that his facial prosthetics might be laughable to the viewers. As for

The First Charter Of Human Rights
The early Persian Empire was governed by Cyrus the Great. Cyrus was a brilliant, powerful, and
thoughtful Persian king that wanted to enlarge the Persian kingdom by conquering nearby lands and
then tried to unite them into one empire. Throughout Cyrus skillful leadership and strong military, he
was able to create a huge empire that lasted for more than two hundred years. Cyrus was very skilled
ruler that does everything the right. He take up a policy of toleration toward the people he goes
against. For instance, he accepted them to speak their own native languages, practice their own rituals
and religions, and stick to their own old ways. He had so many respected for those people that he
announced the first Charter of Human Rights. This charter was the one that set forth Cyrus goals and
policies. Since, he was a well respected man among the people that helped him create a peaceful and
stable empire for the people to live. Cyrus built was the one that built the foundation of mail system.
Then after his deceased, Darius built a communication network that connected to all the 20 provinces
which helped the Persian Empire tremendously. Unfortunately, Cyrus passed away and that created a
chaotic period under a delicate emperor that almost destroyed the Persian Empire. Afterward, Darius I,
became the ruler and he started building on what Cyrus had accomplished while he was the leader.

Walmart Strategy
Introduction
Wal Mart the world s largest retailer in 2006, next to only Exxon Mobil, with an 8.9% retail store
market share in the US and a global turnover of $312 billion, is the most famous example of a
successful retail strategy. However, Wal Mart s international operations spread across 14 markets
outside US, has been a mixed bag of experiences for the company. Despite Wal Mart s impressive
track record and strength, the question is, How can it stay ahead? given the rapidly changing retail
landscape, newly emerging markets and aggressive global competitors.

Corporate Culture
A strong emphasis on customer service, and highly motivated personnel (helped by a quasi religious
corporate culture) has been nurtured over the years. In doing so, Wal Mart ratcheted up its own overall
productivity — and made it impossible for any competitor to survive without emulating its template.
All the same its corporate culture has lent it a certain strategic complexity that makes it difficult to
emulate.
Economies of Scale
The scale of Wal Mart s operations has given it primarily two advantages:
Learning curve effect: Un matched expertise in retail business in the US has lead to very high
productivity levels. Years of trial and error with various store formats and distribution channels has
resulted increased organizational leaning and reduced operational costs.
Cash Reserves: This enables Wal Mart to respond to changes in the environment and competitor
moves very quickly. It also enables expansion plans with exactly causing a lock out since there is no
dearth of funds.

Earliest Memory Research Paper
I don t really know what my first memory is, but I do know that one of my earliest memories is me,

Walla Wine History
TITLE
Walla Walla, Washington: Wonderful Wines In The West
LEAD PARAGRAPH
It was not long ago when Walla Walla was known for their sweet yellow onions and not much else.
Wine changed all of that. What started in the 1970s as a test to see if grapes liked the same soil as
onions, has now exploded into a fine wine mecca. When Gary Figgins planted the first wine grapes on
his homestead in 1974 nobody knew just how big this wine experiment would turn out.
This sleepy town at the foot of the round and rolling Blue Mountains is quickly becoming one of
North America s premier wine destinations. The effects can be seen even for the casual first time
visitor to Walla Walla. Home prices have risen rapidly, excellent new restaurants keep adding to an ...

Green Rivers Shale Fig 14: Holy Cross Shale and Green river shale
Holly cross 1 to 2 % expansion that tell you that nothing really came out of the rock
Green river shale expends like 50 % the reason it expends hydrocarbon has to come out from the
inside to the outside the reason is its pore permeability and porosity. Green river does that by creating
cracks inside the rock. That s what fracking is Creating breaking from the inside process f creating.
Usually big company use explosive etc.
The difference between the Holy Cross Shale and Green river Shale is Green river shale is cracking
constantly expanding when is done is ashes is all soft.
IV Conclusion
Holly Cross Shale did not expand very much which means it is hardly cracking at all. Once cut in half,
it was still black; nothing in the inside came out that is much harder much denser does have low
permeability and probably small pores.
In Holly Cross Shale there is basically nothing substantial. I don t see any realease of ions, most of the
hydrocarbons are still in the rock. The few picks are nitrogen oxygen so we can conclude that with the
Holly cross shale is whatever is on the outside because nothing from the inside came out even after
heating up to 800 °

Examples Of Sanitize In Spotlight
In Spotlight, the filmmakers include a scene where one of the Boston Globe reporters, Sacha Pfeiffer,
is interviewing Joe, one of the survivors. Joe tells Sacha about his first visit to Father Shanley s house,
and how Father Shanley the two play strip poker. Joe says, Of course I lost. And things went on from
there. Sacha asks, What happened specifically? and Joe replies Specifically, he molested me. Sacha
continues, and says, Joe, I think the language here is going to be very important. We can t sanitize this,
just saying molest isn t enough. People need to know what actually happened. I will consider the word
sanitize in this paper, and why the filmmakers chose to use this word and film the scene like they did.

This definition is, to render more acceptable, clean up, as by the removal of undesirable, improper or

especially fitting. Sacha and the Spotlight team have been fighting to expose confidential materials,

The TH1 Response
The TH1 response is cell mediated and promotes inflammation while the TH2 response is an antibody
response and anti inflammatory. When excessive, the TH1 response can cause extensive tissue
damage. TH1 responses are characterized by IFN gamma production. IFN gamma produces
macrophage activity and causes B cells to create a coating of Abs. This creates a cell mediated
response. This is effective against invaders that are inside of the host cells. In a cell mediated
response, the APC phagocytizes the invader via macrophage, monocyte, or dendritic cell. Next, the
antigen enters the lymphatic system via lymph node. The APC presents the antigen to T cells where
the T cells recognize the antigen and cytokines are secreted to search and destroy ... Show more

You know (I hope!) that T cell recognition of antigen is MHC restricted, meaning that the TCR will
only bind antigen presented by self MHC molecules. Yet, this restriction is not dictated by the
genotype of T cell. How can this be? (10 points) MHC restriction means that T cells can only
recognize the Ags that are presented by their own MHC molecules. After an invader enters a cell, it is
broken down to an antigen and is brought to the cell to be presented to T cells by the major
histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I or class II. When T cells develop, they go through a
selection in thymus so that the TCR will not recognize self, meaning that the TCR will not recognize
and MHC that is presenting a self antigen. More in depth, immature T cells that are found to be able to
recognize invaders on self MHCs are kept, but others that will not be of any use or recognize self
antigens will result in programmed cell death. Because a TCR will only recognize certain MHCs and
not others, this is the definition of MHC restriction. The MHC restriction comes from the thymus that
you were born with rather than genes. This was shown through an experiment with transgenic mice.
They showed that the transgenic T cells matured in the thymus and went into the peripheral lymphoid
organs. This only occurred if the mouse had the same allelic form of the MHC recognized by the TCR.
If the mouse didn t have the match between MHC and TCR the T cells died in the thymus. This
showed that the

American Opportunity Tax Credit For Higher Education Essay
Introduction American Opportunity Tax Credit (AOTC) was part of the American Recovery and

The Problem With Subprime Mortgages And Minorities
The problem with Subprime Mortgages and Minorities
When it comes to buying a home there are a few things you need first. Of course you need money , but
what if you don t have the money but you want to get a home? Well you would apply for a loan, but
there are two loans you could qualify for and those two are known as prime loans and subprime loans.
There are far too many cases where there are well qualified people with the credentials to get a prime
loan but were denied, forcing them to settle for worse forms of credit such as subprime loan. The
problem is that it is unethical to even offer these subprime loans because of the debt that it puts

Analyzing The Metamorphosis Essay
Analyzing The Metamorphosis
Upon first reading The Metamorphosis, a person might think the author is a little strange for writing
such a story. It seems to defy anything rational, yet it has been regarded as a masterpiece in literature.
I, myself, still wonder how Kafka could write such a great story that is, in my opinion, extremely
bazaar and, well, weird. And that is putting it lightly. In the beginning of the story, Kafka abruptly
brings us into the sad life of a traveling salesman, named Gregor. When he wakes up in the morning,
the first picture that is painted is a round bellied sort of insect lying on its back with its numerous legs,
which were pitifully thin compared to the rest of his bulk, waved helplessly before his ... Show more

I found this dependence frightening and would probably make me want to turn into a bug, too. Kafka
was brilliant in not actually letting his readers know exactly what kind of bug Gregor was. It was
obviously intentional. When the book got published, Kafka was actually worried that the publisher
would want to illustrate a picture of the bug like creature. He wrote the publisher explaining that he
didn t want any pictures that depicted what Gregor might have looked like. I like this idea because it
really helps the reader of the story use their imagination. One of the worst things in the world is to
read a book, get a picture in your head of what characters look and act like, and in the end, flip
through pictures generated from another person s mind. In John Updike s commentary of Kafka s The
Metamorphosis, he alludes to Gregor maybe being a centipede instead of a beetle or a cockroach.
Though Kafka says Gregor has numerous legs , I do not necessarily think that means he has to be a
centipede. To a human being, numerous legs would be six legs as compared to our normal two legs.
Besides, never have I seen a centipede with a domed like brown belly . Also, a cockroach (which
would be a fitting choice) does not seem to match the description Kafka gives. I have concluded for
myself that the bug that Gregor has sadly

Zygote Vs Fetus
The first premise states that a fetus is an early stage in becoming a human. It all starts with conception.
When the sperm meets the egg, the combination is called a zygote. The zygote contains all of the
genetic information (DNA) needed to become a baby. Half the DNA comes from the mother s egg and
half from the father s sperm. The zygote then travels down the fallopian tube, in which, it forms a ball
of cells called a blastocyst. The blastocyst is composed of an inner group of cells with an outer shell.
The inner group of cells will become the embryo which is what will develop into a fetus. The fetus is
the stage of development up until birth. Of course, after birth you have an infant, then a toddler, then a
preschooler, then middle childhood, teenagers, and lastly adulthood. All of which came to be from a
mere zygote. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Every single human being body parts all share the same genetic code. If the mother and unborn child
were not different people, the fetus s cells would have the same genetic code as the mothers. If a man
kills a pregnant woman, he is convicted on two counts of murder. It is illegal to execute a pregnant
woman on death row because the child is a separate human being (International Covenant on Civil and
Political Rights: Article 6.5). As you can see, a Fetus is its own human Being. Premise three tells us
that all humans have the right to life. According to Appendix A: Universal Declaration of Human
Rights, Everyone has the right to life, liberty and the security of person. (Article 3) Being a

Essay On Conspiracy Theory
Conspiracy Theory Research Paper
Conspiracy theories are designed to make sense even though they are entirely false. They also get out
of control when they get a huge following of people that haven t put time into research to tell if the
theory is valid or not. When ridiculous conspiracy theories come up, they can be easily debunked. I
will go over multiple conspiracy theories and being to prove them wrong by breaking them down and
presenting facts that make these theories not possible.
The first theory is the Moon Landing conspiracy theory. This theory goes back to the Apollo 11 moon
landing. Theorists believe that the moon landing was all faked in an attempt to beat Russia in the
Space Race . Some proof they claim to have is when the astronauts are putting up the American flag it
waves, there is no wind on the moon . The flag is held up by a horizontal bar and simply moves when
it is unfurled and as the pole is being fixed into position by the astronauts the pole continues to vibrate
after the astronauts let go. This gives the impression of blowing wind on the moon.

Human Relationships-Frankenstein Essay
Mary Shelly s Frankenstein is book about the importance of human relationships and treating
everyone with dignity and respect. The main character of the book is Victor Frankenstein who is a
very intelligent man with a desire to create life in another being. After he completes his creation, he is
horrified to find that what he has created is a monster. The monster is the ugliest, most disgusting
creature that he has ever seen. Victor being sickened by his creation allows the monster to run off and
become all alone in the world. Throughout Frankenstein, Mary Shelley uses the theme of human
relationships to illustrate the bond that man has with other beings and the need for love and affection.

loved one and what it feels like to no longer see them and hear their voice. Mary Shelley illustrates
that this life is not the end, but there is another life where loved ones will be seen. Victor s mother is
demonstrating how special Elizabeth is to her and that she wants her to take care of the family and to
someday marry Victor. Later in the novel, Victor leaves for school. Victor s father tells him, I know
that while you are pleased with yourself, you will think of us with affection, and we shall hear
regularly from you. You must pardon me if I regard any interruption in your correspondence as a proof
that your other duties are equally neglected (33). After, Victor leaves for school to begin his studies he
becomes self absorbed in his work. Family is very important to Victor s father. Victor realizes that he
has become too involved in his studies and knows that it is unhealthy to behave in such a way.
However, he does not want to quit and begins to justify his actions. He suggests that if others had

Tony Robbins
The quality of your communication is the quality of your life Tony Robbins. How motivating. It
should be because Tony Robbins is a very famous and successful motivational speaker. This quote
couldn t be more true. Good communicators have a very successful life and in order to master
communication, one must understand communication theory. According to the text, Introducing
Communication Theory Analysis and Application, communication is defined as a social process in
which individuals employ symbols to establish and interpret meaning in their environment . There are
many different definitions of communication, but all communication definitions explain the process of
transmitting information, the framework of the information, and the effects of that information.
Understanding communication theory can be very rewarding and very beneficial to people s personal
and professional lives. It can help with public speaking, interviews, relationships, and so much more.
The world is always changing, which means communication is too. Taking a communication theory
class helps students make sense of the world around us, express our wants, needs and desires to others
in an appropriate manner. Employers are always looking for good communicators to hire.
Corporations are noticing how beneficial an effective communicator is for their business. According to

Taking a Look at Team Connor s Organization
FINANCIAL SUMMARY
As per our analysis of TeamConnor s financials we explored that the organization has been having
difficulty in maintaining a positive net income throughout the past three years. According to
TeamConnors financials, we observe that there is a misfit between their goals, stated in TeamConnors
Goals for the Future, and their financial capabilities. With the net negative income over the past three
years, TeamConnor has lacked in updating their goals to match with their current financial standards.
According to our projections, continuing at this pace with income decreasing and expenses rising, we
believe TeamConnor will be nearly $850 thousand in the negative. The goals of awarding more grants
with an annual increase of 46% through the upcoming years will not be attainable with the current
trend of income in the organization. With constantly growing expense like salary, professional service
expenses, and event costs, summing up to nearly roughly 45% of total expenditures at an estimated
growth rate of 30%, expenses continues to exceed the revenues each year. With a negative outlook in
the coming years with unrealistic goals, the change of strategic orientation is obvious and urgent.
PROPOSALS
As we carefully analyzed the current strategic orientation of TeamConnor organization we came
across some key issues that need to be addressed. According to the information provided, we believe
that currently the organization is having issues with focusing on their

How Did European Culture Affect Australian Culture
European settlement due to the effects of the removal of people from their very own traditional lands.
There are many ways through which we know that Australia was different in the past than what it is
today. Before the arrival of the Europeans on the first fleet, there were no use of horses or carriages,
not even a single building, no large farms to take care of and no foreigners travelled from different
parts of the world. Australia was a descent, unspoilt country where people respected each other and
took care of the environment, animals and plants around them. People never wasted food, they used as
much was needed. This ensured that there was sufficient food for further use or maybe when someone
needed it. Indigenous people were either hunters or gatherers. They male people hunted large animals
such as Kangaroos, turtles and emus whereas the female and children tried to hunt smaller animals and

1984 Love And Hate Quotes
Winston s emotions of love and hate are interchangeable and have no stable target because the Party is
able to control the exact moments in which these emotion are expressed; by torturing Winston and
forcing him to leave his emotions vulnerable, the Party is able to fully control the target of Winston s
emotions and make them authentic.
Emotions, especially hatred, become chaotic and unclear when the Party members are able to reveal
them. During the Two Minutes Hate while he is staring at Goldstein s face on the screen, Orwell
writes: Suddenly, by the sort of violent effort with which one wrenches one s head away from the
pillow in a nightmare, Winston succeeded in transferring his hatred from the face on the screen to the
dark haired girl behind him (15). Wrenches conveys how Winston is able to quickly transfer his hate
from Goldstein to the girl behind him, demonstrating how little the recipient of hatred matters. The
feeling of hate is so strong that the target has no importance, as long as the hatred is expressed. The
phrase violent effort highlights the feeling of urgency to release emotion during the Two Minutes
Hate. Any outward expression of emotion is condemned in the society, therefore the feeling of hatred
becomes uncontrollable and frantic. Winston ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Essay about Henry Purcell
Henry Purcell is seen as one of the greatest composers of the Baroque period and one of the greatest of
all English composers. His earliest surviving works date from 1680 and show a complete command of
musical composition. They include some fantasias for viols, masterpieces of contrapuntal writing, and
more contemporary sonatas for violins, which reveal some acquaintance with Italian models. Purcell,
in his time, became increasingly in demand as a composer, and his theatre music in particular made
his name familiar to many who knew nothing of his church music or the odes and welcome songs he
wrote for the court of three different kings over twenty five years.

A job that was given to many other trusted workers in the abbey as Westminster had no official
copyist. Purcell probably spent most that time copying post restoration works that were being created
at the time. This work as well as his normal workload as a choir boy would have acquainted him with
the restoration composers and given him insight into their work. He himself confessed to transcribing
the works of Byrd, Gibbons and Tallis into his own personal manuscript book.
Charles II had in his court a copy of Louis XIV s Vignt quatre violins du Roiand. This group of
musicians was to play for Charles much the same as the French model played for Louis. In 1677 death
came to Matthew Locke the then composer for Charles the second s twenty four violins (Westrup,
p.26). Purcell, the precocious lad he was, succeeded him at the age of only eighteen. This was a most
distinguished post for a musician and composer since Locke was one of the most respected composers
of his day.
No doubt there were some complaints of favoritism as Locke was an intimate friend of the Purcell
family. The duties of twenty four violins were principally to play at court functions wherever the king
was in residence; Charles II loved to listen before meal times. Charles taste in music did not extend
beyond that which was not readily intelligible 1 with a straightforward rhythm that he could beat time.

During the early 1900 s, Japanese women were shipped from their home in Japan to America, with

Japanese picture brides were delusioned, used as a loophole in the Gentlemen s agreement, and often

One thing that can come with not knowing your husband before you marry him is he could be awful.
In this day and age, we generally get to know a person, even before we decide to be friends with them,
much less marry them. So for some picture brides, their husbands were less than pleasant. In an LA
Times article by Sharon Yamato Danley, she explains that the Japanese picture bride Tamaki says that
her husband turned out to be hidoi ( dreadful ). Regardless, they remained married 50 years. Tamaki
went through years of unhappiness with her husband. Actually, a lot of brides went through a similar
situation. Danley notes that Picture brides faced grueling work and meager wages as laundresses, field
workers, or housekeepers, toiling hard to save enough money to hopefully some day return to Japan.
But few Issei women would return, except for brief visits. ( Japanese Picture Brides Recall ). Most
women stayed, living these terrible lives, just so that they would not disappoint their parents. The guilt
of leaving their husband was most times too great for these picture brides to get out of that situation.
Some just couldn t afford to go back to Japan. Being a picture bride traps these women in a life where

Peter Singer the Ethics of Internet Piracy
Proposition: Peter Singer suggests based on the article that it may be morally right to pirate under
certain circumstances. Evidence: One such circumstance is that people can no longer purchase out
certain print works, as presented within the article One marvel of the Internet is that some of my older
works, long out of print, are now far more widely available than they ever were before in pirated
versions . This shows that it could be beneficial to have works online for others to use when they are
no longer available in print. Another circumstance is presented when Singer claims that by reading the
pirated copy of a book sent from his colleague, no one was worse off due to the fact that it was not for
sale in digital form. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He suggests that if there was a low user fee, there would be less incentive to pirate. Therefore, there is
a solution to the argument he s presenting. Potential Objections: Authors will argue against Singer s
argument that pirated books are not entirely morally wrong because for many authors their work is not
paying off. Many might object and say that they are entirely wrong because it hurts them. Some
authors lose earnings when their books are pirated because that s all they have. Many do not have
other ways of earning money and if someone else is making money using their work it s even worse
for them. Such is the case with Kim Dotcom who was making money using other people s work. He
wasn t just sharing different works, he was earning money using works that didn t belong to him.
Assumptions: Singer argues that if legislation stopping piracy does not happen most creative people
will need to earn a living doing something else, and we will all be the losers. He s assuming that
without legislation, publishers/artists/authors etc. will continue to lose money from pirating of their
works but he has no real proof that this is true. He also makes the assumption that if there were a
cheap enough user fee, the incentive to use pirated copies would diminish, be he has no actual way of
knowing this. He only assumes this based on what he thinks it s the best solution. Information about
the context: Singer shares in his article that internet

How Is Hester Prynne A Heroine
The Scarlet Letter is a classic novel written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. It is set in puritan times around
the 16th century. The story tells of a women of the name Hester Prynne who commits adultery with a

Hester Prynne is a heroine and has many traits of being so in this book. I believe that she is a heroine

Beowulf s strength is beyond any of human comparison and has allowed him to accomplish tasks that
would have obliterated lesser men and gain renown throughout the world. Beowulf s boasts of his
strength are not to be received as prideful or egotistical but rather as a true representation of his power
as Beowulf always fulfils his boasts. When Beowulf pledges to vanquish Grendel, he does not take it

Military Service Deployment
What I learned in class that enriched my learning would be when we discussed the demands and
stressors of families impacted by military service deployment. I can understand how difficult this may
be because of the time being separated away from the service member. Also, the worriedness and fear
that goes on if their loved one will return back home safely from combat. These stressors not only
affect the family, but the service member as well. Moreover, it was interesting to learn about the
redeployment and post deployment stages that family members and the veteran go through. I learned
that when the service member returns, he/she might still be adjusting to coming home from combat
(Asbury Martin, 2012). Symptoms include feeling more detached,

What Is Co-Working
I think co working is a fantastic idea and would absolutely do it if I were in a position to do so! While
the separation of work and home is appealing, the major draw for me is the Good Partners mentality
that Spinuzzi mentions in his article. The notion of working collaboratively as partners and making
connections is intriguing because there always is the possibility that your day can shift in an instant. In
addition, the spaces described from modernist spaces with open plan rooms to a grand Victorian
mansion are inspiring environments where I would want to go work. Going to work wouldn t feel like
I am going to the office but rather going to a space where I am free to work.
Granted, my opinion is somewhat biased because I have a

I Am A New Jersey Girl
Could you see getting more out of life than what you had growing up? I couldn t see it, I thought that
this is what life had to offer. The smell of the factories, construction, and the air ports is what accented
the city. Newark New Jersey had so much excitement and entertainment right in front of you. You
didn t have to go anywhere and that is what made growing up there memorable. My parents decided
they were going to separate when I was six years old. My life had changed dramatically. Our stability
was effected as well as separation from my father and most of all trying to understand and out the
pieces together as a child .Growing up was developmental for me now as an adult I understand things
from both side. Growing up a Jersey girl is what made me.
Once my parents separated, my mother, sister, little brother and I left my grandmother s house to stay
with different relatives until my mother got it together. But our first stop was act my older sister s
house. It was different waken up somewhere different, waken up in a new environment, and new
retinues. Once we adapted to one living situation it seemed like it was time to move again. Once I
stated to get attached to my nieces and nephews it was hard for me to leave them and start over again
but I couldn t change anything. It seemed like my mother had it all together now. I had started a new
school, new setting new house. I was excited again happy to have my own space again. Things were
going great until it was time to

Book Review Winning the War of Words
One problem for someone trying to offer a defense of Israel despite the determined intellectual attack
on the country in recent years is that, while the assault is simply and easily understood; the defense is
harder to explain. To defame the country one simply needs to say colonization or apartheid , and add a
photo of a soldier manhandling a child, but to defend Israel requires an expansive understanding of at
least 100 years of history in both Europe and the Middle East, an understanding of how we have
reached this moment, and of what Israel s only choices are right now. Anyone trying to explain Israel s
case needs to be mature enough to make sense of this to people outside the ... Show more content on

Like many Israelis, she had her mind changed by the Palestinians repeatedly rejecting Israel s peace
offers and by their use of brutal terrorism. She writes that she noticed, what she had previously
regarded as legitimate criticism of Israeli policies was in fact something different, it was an ideology
disturbing in its intention and content. She concluded that this criticism wasn t about a two state
solution at all, but it only very thinly masks a deep and visceral hatred for the state and its people that
cannot be explained by mere criticism for the policies of some of its elected governments.
Things move so far and so fast in the Middle East that some of the pieces here already seem like
distant history just a year or two after happening and being written. If Iran, in 2013, felt that the
economic pressure and the credible threat of military intervention were to threaten its very survival, it
might, just as Assad did with the chemical weapons, go as far as give up the entire nuclear program
altogether. Before 2014 started was a relatively peaceful time. But of course, we know now that the
West will never make such a threat, that the mullahs will have their way, and that the Americans are in
retreat amidst the confused ruins of their policies as the Russians move in.
Wilf s views are particularly sharp towards the regional turmoil due to many in the West being

Strong response to Emily Andrews Why I don t Spare Spare...
Emily Andrews argues in her essay Why I Don t Spare Spare Change that it does more harm than
good to give money to beggars on the street rather than giving to an organization such as United Way
to help the needy, pointing out that one cannot be certain that one is giving to a needy individual and
that by giving to a charitable organization ones money is likely to be used wisely. I believe Andrews
has set up her essay well, her title alerting the reader of the topic, having an attention grabbing
sentence in the first paragraph starting with common phrases as poor but honest , and having a sense
of her audience, taking account of how her readers feel about her arguments. However, I do think that
she has made some problematic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Gender Bias In The Early Greek Culture
Gender Bias in the Early Greek Culture
It s important to know that discrimination is the unjust treatment of a person or thing based on age,
race, and or sexual orientation (CITE THIS). Discrimination is seen throughout the world s history in
forms of slavery, social inequality, racial bias, and gender inequality. Unfortunately, women in history
also faced discrimination by not having much of the same rights as men did. More specifically, when
looking at the history of the Greeks, one can clearly point out gender inequality in everyday life, law,
and even literature.
Athenian women were the subjects of bias in day to day life. A women s property was controlled by
her father until she entered an arranged marriage, usually at the age of fourteen. Her husband would
then supervise her and that was because it was believed that a woman could not act independently (
PAGE NUMBER). If they left the house or attended court they were accompanied by a male. They
didn t receive formal educations and couldn t act in plays. Women essentially couldn t do anything.
Women were seen as inferior to men and therefore were treated like such. This idea bled into the belief
that women should do things at home while the man goes off to work. Men were taking advantage of
women by stripping them from any potential power by controlling every aspect of their lives.
Although it may seem odd that women did not fight for their rights, many of them feared the
consequences for not obeying her husband,

Tesco s Marketing Pl Tesco
Executive Summary
As the UK market becomes more saturated over the years, Tesco will be in need of a new marketing
plan that will allow them to enter other markets.
Tesco attempted to penetrate the US market with its own shops and failed leading to a loss of $1.3
billion. Penetrating other markets may be better only if joint ventures are achieved, a prime example
of that is the joint venture with Tata (IB times, 2014a).
Even though Tesco are using more money than any other retailer with their marketing budget, Tesco s
marketing is deemed unsuccessful. Tesco have failed marketing their brand well, Tesco s clubcard
does not allow them to spend their marketing budget properly. Removal after using the data for Ansoff
s matrix may be the best option.

Building A Level Of Trust Essay
Building a level of trust between your business and your customers is vital, not only for how your
brand, but also returning customers. There are no shortcuts to making this work, it takes time and
patience, but what are the important factors?
Firstly, understand that e commerce acquires a lot of data. Simple newsletter sign ups may just involve
an email address, or a simple profile to be created. However, more and more retailers are collecting
further data, such as birthdays and location. The full checkout process will involve full personal
details such as billing/home address, delivery/work address and all card details and security number.
Even a phone number for delivery is sometimes required.
Ask yourself the question, do your customers know where you live? When your birthday is? Your
mobile phone number? It s extreme thinking, however, it puts into perspective the level of trust need
to purchase from a new store. Gaining, and more importantly, retaining your customer s trust should
be top priority when running an e commerce business. Here s how to make it, not break it.
1. Customer Service
Your customer service team is your front line of defence. They are your brand ambassadors. The point
of contact at the end of the phone when problems occur. Hire intelligently and treat them well. Great
customer service is rarely rewarded, however, bad service festers. With the correct resourcing your can
hire great brand ambassadors who are great with clients, but people who

The World Trade Center And Nicknamed The Twin Towers
On the New York skyline once stood a set of towers known as the World Trade Center and nicknamed
the Twin Towers. After the attacks on a normal routine morning in New York City, those towers were
no longer there. After several years of planning and designing, a new tower now stands and has been
labeled One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower. In the shadow of the recently
completed tower are two reflecting pools that were once the foundation of the fallen towers. During
the design process and upon completion a public opinion arose with some saying, building this tower
means the terrorists won. Others say it s a symbolism for rebirth and moving forward. After visiting
New York, watching the building process of the new ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Upon arriving in the empire state for the first time, our taxi driver goes on to tell us several facts about
a tower that is now only missing the curtain wall for the top fifteen or so floors. He recalls the tower
that when completed will be 1776 feet tall, becoming the tallest building on the New York City
skyline. A public concern he expresses is the trouble with leasing the top thirty floors, the cause being
a fear that racked the brains of many New Yorkers back in 2001. Later in the week, we made our way
downtown to the 9/11 memorials. At the time to get into this memorial involved a similar system to
how one would go through security anywhere in the nation. Well waiting in line, protesters lined the
street arguing about a tower that is already 80% completed. Inside the memorial, however, people had
the upmost respect for those who lost their lives that day. Other than the thousands of names that
surrounded the foundations, another site to see was the single tree that still stood after the attacks,
even with the millions of pounds of rumble that fell that September day.
Fast forward two and a half years to the third and most recent visit of mine to New York City. On this
February visit the city was experiencing one of the many snowstorms that occur on the East coast.
When arriving at the memorial for the

The Influence Of Napster s Contribution To The Culture Of...
Throughout the course of history there have been many technological advances that have made a
tremendous impact on human culture and the way our society functions. Inventions like the
automobile, television, and the internet have all contributed to improve the quality of living as we
know it. One major contribution to media and our culture was the development and rise of sound
recording. Since it s inception sound recording has evolved and adapted to fit our ever growing need
for media. Thanks to this reason it remains heavily integrated into our culture. As sound recording
developed, it pushed music, one of the oldest forms of media into a constant cycle of rebirth. As
popular forms of music and its artists begin to heavily influence our ... Show more content on

Not only did Napster take the concept of music sharing to a new level, it changed the way music was
listened to and how the music industry would begin to market popular music. With the internet
becoming a fully formed popular resource, Napster was a free online service that specialized in
sharing MP3 files over the internet via P2P (Peer to peer) file sharing. P2P allowed users to gain
access to music; which usually is paid content, by searching for a Host (the source of the content) that
would upload and distribute this content for free. This meant that everyone across the world who had
access to internet could find libraries of albums from various recording artists that they would
generally have to pay hundreds of dollars to listen to. What made this so appealing to the masses was
that they could access it all for free. This significantly impacted the music industry because it had no
official way to control such a vast network. Why would consumer want to pay for music when they
could find it for free? The music industry which essentially makes a profit from record sales believed
that this online service would cost them millions. Rather than the music industry making sales from
each record sold, one Napster user could purchase a record, upload it to the service and then hundreds
of other users could download it for free. Those hundreds of users no longer need to purchase the
record themselves because they have already gained access to

  • 2. The Automotive Sector in Italy The Automotive Sector in Italy I. Introduction: Sector Analysis Part A: Out of all the countries I have visited in my life, Italy is definitely my favorite. Italy is located in southern Europe bordering countries such as France, Switzerland, Austria, and Slovenia. With a population of over sixty million people, Italy has a capitalist market with high GDP per capita and a well developed infrastructure. According to the International Monetary Fund, it is the eighth largest economy in the entire world and third biggest in Europe. After analyzing the National Institute of Statistics (ISTAT), the GDP of Italy expanded by 10% in the fourth quarter of last year. From 1960 2013, the GDP growth rate averaged 63% per year. Their main industrial base is driven by producing high quality consumer goods. The main sectors in Italy are tourism, iron and steel, machinery, textiles, food processing, shoes, clothing (fashion), and one of the biggest being the auto sector. Italy joined the European Union in 1952, and between then and now, their country has gone through growth rates well above 4%. However, after 1992, Italy s expansion rates fell below the European Union average. Ever since then, Italy s government has been trying to revive their economy by increasing the amount of public spending. In result, the public debt and budget deficit have attained unsustainable levels and the country has recently gone through a tough recession. Now in 2014, Italy has actually returned to growth after ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Are Literary Devices Used In The Black Cat The use of literary device is a vital part to Edgar Allan Poe s stories. They help show the meaning of the short story and give information that is important to the narrative. Without any literary device it will leave readers confused and wondering why certain things occurred. The Black Cat is a perfect example of the use of literary device. Black cats have long been considered a symbol of bad luck, and naming his story as such is a perfect example of literary devices. In The Black Cat, Edgar Allan Poe uses point of view, imagery, and conflict to explain the human nature to act on impulse. Edgar Allan Poe was born in Boston Massachusetts, on January 19, 1809. The main character grew up having a tender disposition toward animals, but inevitably his true nature came out whereby ...the cause for the aberrant behavior was human depravity and ...the perversity of the human heart (Stark). The reason why the main character cuts the cat s eye out and subsequently kills it is that his internal despicable nature was stronger than his childhood fondness of animals. Another conflict within the man is between God s will and his own will. The choices the man makes can be thought of as odd reasoning but also related to ...the mysterious relationship between divine providence and human volition (Stark). He goes against God s will by drinking too much, torturing and murdering the black cat, and with tremendous guilt in his soul he murders his wife accidentally when trying to murder his second cat. • 4. Industrialization Of The Second Industrial Revolution The Second Industrial Revolution, which reached its peak during 1870 to 1914, marked a significant turning point in American history. Before this era of progression and industrial excellence, America was on the verge of expansion like never before. From the vast amounts of land gained through the Annexation of Texas in 1845, the British retreating from Oregon in 1846, and the Mexican cession of Southwest territory guaranteed by the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo of 1848, (Engelman) America was able to expand their territory and access new resources. Industrialization and factory growth in the North was just budding and beginning to create economic success, along with spurring a rise of urbanization and migration of foreign workers to America. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Other plentiful resources include coal, iron, oil, and ore (Pacheco). The utilization of these resources led to a variety of new inventions. Using iron, one valuable invention that was created to make agriculture more efficient was the iron bladed plow, created by Jethro Wood in 1819, that could plow through all types of fields (Alchin). Perhaps the most important advancement was the development of railroads, such as between 1863 and 1869 when the first transcontinental railroad was built using iron. This railroad linked the east and west the Atlantic to the Pacific which was a true phenomenon during this time (Alchin). Both these revolutionary creations, the bladed plow and the transcontinental railroad, among many others, allowed the economy to prosper, due to the use of the natural resources. The railroad increased efficiency and wealth for citizens nationwide, as this opened up new markets for farmers, industrialists, and bankers who could now bring crops and cotton from the Mississippi River Valley, wheat in the Midwest, and manufactured goods in upstate New York into a global market based on credit (Engelman). Another significant reason why our economy prospered during this revolution was the expanding labor force available to work in factories to mass produce products. The opportunity to work in industrial factories attracted millions around the world, which lead to a population explosion within cities, as almost 11 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Fortunately for us, Germany devotes 2.853% of its GDP to R D activities which is even higher than our home country of the United States which only devotes 2.806% of GDP (OECD II 1). Ultimately, after thoroughly assessing the economic situation in Germany we as a country firmly believe that we can be successful not just in Berlin, but the entirety of the country. Now that we have briefly examined what we will sell and who we will sell it to and analyzed the culture and economy of Germany. • 6. Manmade Disasters and Insurance Coverage The problem at hand is the mitigation of man made disasters, and the lessening affect on humanity by natural disasters. Many man made disasters are instigated by a natural disaster that a population is well aware of, yet they choose to ignore the risk because they are not personally involved or think it will not happen to them. Up to now the alternatives have basically focused on remediation by the government after the fact. Somehow we have come to believe that if we build our house on a sandbar that the government will make us whole when the hurricane washes it into the ocean. This is faulty on so many levels. Government responsibility is an oxymoron in itself. In an article by James Payne, he cites numerous incidents of the government being irresponsible and actually causing more damage to the environment and populations because of mismanagement and poor oversight (James, 2010). There is an inherent conflict of interest in hoping that your government will protect you since the government requires funding and that funding can be hampered by restricting business and construction. Your life and property becomes a risk the government is willing to take in exchange for development and taxes. Insurance companies provide another alternative to this problem but they too are hindered by governmental regulations intended to help people. Once again governmental agencies have infringed on the private enterprise ability to resolve a problem. Left to their own devices insurance ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Similarities Between Shakespeare And One Flew Over The... Despite the intended purpose of mental institutions helping patients, some hospitals may do the exact opposite. In the novels Poppy Shakespeare by Clare Allan and One Flew Over the Cuckoo s Nest by Ken Kesey the protagonists journey and conflict creates the notion that mental institutions are ineffective and detrimental to patients well being. The beginning of each protagonist s story demonstrates the ineffectiveness of the mental institutions, then reaching a pivotal moment, McMurphy faces a downfall, whereas N s benefits her, and in the end both conflicts resolve to display the unproductive and harmful effects. These novels also portray other characters who the mental institutions affect negatively, including Dawn, Ellis and Poppy. In the beginning of each protagonist s journey and conflict exhibits, the ineffectiveness of mental institutions as the authors describes the protagonists situation. N s initial situation exposes the unproductivity and dehumanisation towards the psychiatric patients: The way it worked at the Abaddon was the madder you was, the higher you gone, then they moved you down through the floors as you get better. New York s Jewish Museum Crowdsourced Documentation September 16, 2016, Take me (I m Yours) took place at New York s Jewish Museum, as its first ever exhibition made possible by the digital crowdfunding campaign via Kickstarter. With a total $31,018 pledged, 340 backers helped forty two international and intergenerational artists create 400,000+ artworks to be given away during this unconventional exhibition, visitors are encouraged to participate, touch, and even take the artworks on view home with them. Crowdfunding has become commonplace in the art world, but the Jewish Museum launched its first Kickstarter campaign for a number of reasons, of course, in order to fabricate the thousands upon thousands of artworks needed to keep the show fully stocked throughout its run. Also, through Kickstarter platform, it creates a real Receive Me (I m Yours) dynamic for reaching a real community around the museum, staging a online dialogue with its donors, eventually orchestrating a unique network in which participatory behaviours translate the collective online vision into physical space. Take me (I m Yours) aims to create a democratic space for all visitors to take ownership of artworks, and curate their personal art collections, by subverting typical museum practices. Visitors constantly transform the landscape of the galleries, bit by bit, through direct engagement, eventually the exhibition will disappear entirely. Is this the picture drawn when local students have fifty minutes of freedom during lunch to do whatever they please? Students should not be allowed to leave their school campus during lunch. An open campus would lead to truancy, disturb local businesses and neighborhoods, and cause crime. Truancy can occur among students if an open campus is accepted. When excessive, the TH1 response can cause extensive tissue damage. TH1 responses are characterized by IFN gamma production. IFN gamma produces macrophage activity and causes B cells to create a coating of Abs. This creates a cell mediated response. This is effective against invaders that are inside of the host cells. In a cell mediated response, the APC phagocytizes the invader via macrophage, monocyte, or dendritic cell. Next, the antigen enters the lymphatic system via lymph node. The APC presents the antigen to T cells where the T cells recognize the antigen and cytokines are secreted to search and destroy ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You know (I hope!) that T cell recognition of antigen is MHC restricted, meaning that the TCR will only bind antigen presented by self MHC molecules. Yet, this restriction is not dictated by the genotype of T cell. How can this be? (10 points) MHC restriction means that T cells can only recognize the Ags that are presented by their own MHC molecules. After an invader enters a cell, it is broken down to an antigen and is brought to the cell to be presented to T cells by the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I or class II. When T cells develop, they go through a selection in thymus so that the TCR will not recognize self, meaning that the TCR will not recognize and MHC that is presenting a self antigen. More in depth, immature T cells that are found to be able to recognize invaders on self MHCs are kept, but others that will not be of any use or recognize self antigens will result in programmed cell death. Because a TCR will only recognize certain MHCs and not others, this is the definition of MHC restriction. The MHC restriction comes from the thymus that you were born with rather than genes. This was shown through an experiment with transgenic mice. They showed that the transgenic T cells matured in the thymus and went into the peripheral lymphoid organs. This only occurred if the mouse had the same allelic form of the MHC recognized by the TCR. If the mouse didn t have the match between MHC and TCR the T cells died in the thymus. Of course you need money , but what if you don t have the money but you want to get a home? Well you would apply for a loan, but there are two loans you could qualify for and those two are known as prime loans and subprime loans. There are far too many cases where there are well qualified people with the credentials to get a prime loan but were denied, forcing them to settle for worse forms of credit such as subprime loan. The problem is that it is unethical to even offer these subprime loans because of the debt that it puts subprime borrowers in. Through my research I have gathered I have determined that well qualifying minorities, in particular blacks and Hispanics, have been denied prime mortgages based on race and prejudices, making them easier prey for less convenient loans such as subprime mortgages, which results in higher default and foreclosure rates amongst minority residences. Subprime loans A subprime loan is a loan given to people who generally have bad to below average credit and are charged with higher interest rates because of past credit history. It seems to defy anything rational, yet it has been regarded as a masterpiece in literature. I, myself, still wonder how Kafka could write such a great story that is, in my opinion, extremely bazaar and, well, weird. And that is putting it lightly. In the beginning of the story, Kafka abruptly brings us into the sad life of a traveling salesman, named Gregor. Kafka was brilliant in not actually letting his readers know exactly what kind of bug Gregor was. It was obviously intentional. When the book got published, Kafka was actually worried that the publisher would want to illustrate a picture of the bug like creature. He wrote the publisher explaining that he didn t want any pictures that depicted what Gregor might have looked like. I like this idea because it really helps the reader of the story use their imagination. One of the worst things in the world is to read a book, get a picture in your head of what characters look and act like, and in the end, flip through pictures generated from another person s mind. In John Updike s commentary of Kafka s The Metamorphosis, he alludes to Gregor maybe being a centipede instead of a beetle or a cockroach. Though Kafka says Gregor has numerous legs , I do not necessarily think that means he has to be a centipede. To a human being, numerous legs would be six legs as compared to our normal two legs. Besides, never have I seen a centipede with a domed like brown belly . Also, a cockroach (which would be a fitting choice) does not seem to match the description Kafka gives. The zygote contains all of the genetic information (DNA) needed to become a baby. Half the DNA comes from the mother s egg and half from the father s sperm. The zygote then travels down the fallopian tube, in which, it forms a ball of cells called a blastocyst. The blastocyst is composed of an inner group of cells with an outer shell. The inner group of cells will become the embryo which is what will develop into a fetus. The fetus is the stage of development up until birth. Many do not have other ways of earning money and if someone else is making money using their work it s even worse for them. Such is the case with Kim Dotcom who was making money using other people s work. He wasn t just sharing different works, he was earning money using works that didn t belong to him. Assumptions: Singer argues that if legislation stopping piracy does not happen most creative people will need to earn a living doing something else, and we will all be the losers. He s assuming that without legislation, publishers/artists/authors etc. will continue to lose money from pirating of their works but he has no real proof that this is true. He also makes the assumption that if there were a cheap enough user fee, the incentive to use pirated copies would diminish, be he has no actual way of knowing this. He only assumes this based on what he thinks it s the best solution. Information about the context: Singer shares in his article that internet ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story tells of a women of the name Hester Prynne who commits adultery with a man who is kept a mystery until the end of the book, and bears a daughter named Pearl. It follows the lives of the people in Boston, Massachusetts from the point of the beginning of Pearl s life, to the death of Hester. Though the books tells of the many scenes of Hester s life, I believe that through it all, Hester Prynne is a heroine and has many traits of being so in this book. • 37. Pagan And Paganism In Beowulf Written at a time when Pagan and Judeo Christian beliefs were both in the Scandinavian region, Beowulf provides a unique blend between the two, creating a vibrant and fascinating world full of monsters, magic sword, and mighty heroes who save the innocent. God plays an immense role in Beowulf as defender of men, giver of victories, and provider of Beowulf. What is unique about the God in Beowulf is He is not truly Christian or Pagan, but rather a blend created from the beliefs of the Celtic people. This God upholds righteousness and condemns immorality. He decides the outcome of battles through Fate and guides leaders decisions on vital matters. But the Lord was weaving a victory on His war loom for the Weather Geats (696 697). This clear ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Beowulf s strength is beyond any of human comparison and has allowed him to accomplish tasks that would have obliterated lesser men and gain renown throughout the world. Beowulf s boasts of his strength are not to be received as prideful or egotistical but rather as a true representation of his power as Beowulf always fulfils his boasts. When Beowulf pledges to vanquish Grendel, he does not take it lightly and tells Hrothgar and his wife, Wealhtheow, that ..I shall fulfil that purpose, prove myself with a proud victory or meet my death here in the mead hall. (636 638), showing that he is prepared to die, if needed, to defeat this hellish creature. Later that night, in his battle with Grendel, Beowulf showed his strength. The Captain of evil discovered himself in a handgrip harder than anything he had ever encountered in any man on the face of the earth... in all his days, he had never been clamped or cornered like this (749 752,755 756). Beowulf s strength surpassed that of even supernatural beings and allowed his to go on the offensive against a foe that had ravaged Heorot for years and thus allowed him to fulfill his boast. Beowulf power is brought out in his recitation of his deeds and again later actions against the mother of Grendel and a fire breathing dragon that threatens his home. I can understand how difficult this may be because of the time being separated away from the service member. Also, the worriedness and fear that goes on if their loved one will return back home safely from combat. These stressors not only affect the family, but the service member as well. Moreover, it was interesting to learn about the redeployment and post deployment stages that family members and the veteran go through. I learned that when the service member returns, he/she might still be adjusting to coming home from combat (Asbury Martin, 2012). Symptoms include feeling more detached, ... While the separation of work and home is appealing, the major draw for me is the Good Partners mentality that Spinuzzi mentions in his article. In addition, the spaces described from modernist spaces with open plan rooms to a grand Victorian mansion are inspiring environments where I would want to go work. One Eden Lenner Book Review Winning the War of Words One problem for someone trying to offer a defense of Israel despite the determined intellectual attack on the country in recent years is that, while the assault is simply and easily understood; the defense is harder to explain. To defame the country one simply needs to say colonization or apartheid , and add a photo of a soldier manhandling a child, but to defend Israel requires an expansive understanding of at least 100 years of history in both Europe and the Middle East, an understanding of how we have reached this moment, and of what Israel s only choices are right now. Like many Israelis, she had her mind changed by the Palestinians repeatedly rejecting Israel s peace offers and by their use of brutal terrorism. She writes that she noticed, what she had previously regarded as legitimate criticism of Israeli policies was in fact something different, it was an ideology disturbing in its intention and content. She concluded that this criticism wasn t about a two state solution at all, but it only very thinly masks a deep and visceral hatred for the state and its people that cannot be explained by mere criticism for the policies of some of its elected governments. Things move so far and so fast in the Middle East that some of the pieces here already seem like distant history just a year or two after happening and being written. If Iran, in 2013, felt that the economic pressure and the credible threat of military intervention were to threaten its very survival, it might, just as Assad did with the chemical weapons, go as far as give up the entire nuclear program altogether. Before 2014 started was a relatively peaceful time. But of course, we know now that the West will never make such a threat, that the mullahs will have their way, and that the Americans are in retreat amidst the confused ruins of their policies as the Russians move in. Emily Andrews argues in her essay Why I Don t Spare Spare Change that it does more harm than good to give money to beggars on the street rather than giving to an organization such as United Way to help the needy, pointing out that one cannot be certain that one is giving to a needy individual and that by giving to a charitable organization ones money is likely to be used wisely. I believe Andrews has set up her essay well, her title alerting the reader of the topic, having an attention grabbing sentence in the first paragraph starting with common phrases as poor but honest , and having a sense of her audience, taking account of how her readers feel about her arguments. • 45. Gender Bias In The Early Greek Culture Gender Bias in the Early Greek Culture It s important to know that discrimination is the unjust treatment of a person or thing based on age, race, and or sexual orientation (CITE THIS). Discrimination is seen throughout the world s history in forms of slavery, social inequality, racial bias, and gender inequality. Unfortunately, women in history also faced discrimination by not having much of the same rights as men did. More specifically, when looking at the history of the Greeks, one can clearly point out gender inequality in everyday life, law, and even literature. Athenian women were the subjects of bias in day to day life. A women s property was controlled by her father until she entered an arranged marriage, usually at the age of fourteen. Her husband would then supervise her and that was because it was believed that a woman could not act independently ( PAGE NUMBER). If they left the house or attended court they were accompanied by a male. They didn t receive formal educations and couldn t act in plays. Women essentially couldn t do anything. Women were seen as inferior to men and therefore were treated like such. This idea bled into the belief that women should do things at home while the man goes off to work. Men were taking advantage of women by stripping them from any potential power by controlling every aspect of their lives. Although it may seem odd that women did not fight for their rights, many of them feared the consequences for not obeying her husband, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tesco attempted to penetrate the US market with its own shops and failed leading to a loss of $1.3 billion. Penetrating other markets may be better only if joint ventures are achieved, a prime example of that is the joint venture with Tata (IB times, 2014a). There are no shortcuts to making this work, it takes time and patience, but what are the important factors? Firstly, understand that e commerce acquires a lot of data. Simple newsletter sign ups may just involve an email address, or a simple profile to be created. However, more and more retailers are collecting further data, such as birthdays and location. The full checkout process will involve full personal details such as billing/home address, delivery/work address and all card details and security number. Even a phone number for delivery is sometimes required. Ask yourself the question, do your customers know where you live? When your birthday is? Your mobile phone number? It s extreme thinking, however, it puts into perspective the level of trust need to purchase from a new store. Gaining, and more importantly, retaining your customer s trust should be top priority when running an e commerce business. Here s how to make it, not break it. 1. A public concern he expresses is the trouble with leasing the top thirty floors, the cause being a fear that racked the brains of many New Yorkers back in 2001. Later in the week, we made our way downtown to the 9/11 memorials. At the time to get into this memorial involved a similar system to how one would go through security anywhere in the nation. Well waiting in line, protesters lined the street arguing about a tower that is already 80% completed. One major contribution to media and our culture was the development and rise of sound recording. Since it s inception sound recording has evolved and adapted to fit our ever growing need for media. P2P allowed users to gain access to music; which usually is paid content, by searching for a Host (the source of the content) that would upload and distribute this content for free. This meant that everyone across the world who had access to internet could find libraries of albums from various recording artists that they would generally have to pay hundreds of dollars to listen to. What made this so appealing to the masses was that they could access it all for free. This significantly impacted the music industry because it had no official way to control such a vast network. Why would consumer want to pay for music when they could find it for free? The music industry which essentially makes a profit from record sales believed that this online service would cost them millions.
