Writing an essay on the topic of "Best Essays" can be a challenging endeavor, primarily because
the subject itself is highly subjective and open to interpretation. The difficulty lies in navigating
through a vast array of perspectives, opinions, and criteria to determine what constitutes the
"best" essays.
One must grapple with questions such as: What defines excellence in writing? Is it originality,
clarity, creativity, depth of analysis, or a combination of these factors? Moreover, the concept of
"best" is inherently fluid and can vary depending on the context, audience, and purpose of the
essay.
Furthermore, delving into the realm of literary critique and evaluation requires a comprehensive
understanding of various genres, writing styles, and historical contexts. It involves engaging with
a diverse range of texts, from classical literature to contemporary works, in order to discern
patterns, themes, and techniques that contribute to exemplary writing.
Additionally, crafting an essay on this topic demands rigorous research, critical thinking, and
effective communication skills. One must meticulously analyze and evaluate multiple sources,
scholarly articles, and literary critiques to support their arguments and provide a well-rounded
perspective on what distinguishes exceptional essays from the rest.
However, despite the challenges, writing about "Best Essays" can also be an intellectually
stimulating and rewarding experience. It offers an opportunity to explore and appreciate the
richness and diversity of human expression through the written word, as well as to reflect on the
power of literature to inspire, provoke thought, and evoke emotional responses.
In conclusion, while writing an essay on the topic of "Best Essays" presents its own set of
difficulties, it is a task that invites writers to engage in a profound exploration of the art and
craft of writing. By carefully examining the qualities and characteristics that define outstanding

Achilles Romero Research Paper
Man Devoted to Making the World Better, Dies at 39. Achilles Romero, or just
Romero as he liked to be called, was a doctor, lawyer, politician, and writer. On
June 17 1957, the day of the election, Romero he met his childhood friend, Eddy
Brown, at New York City Hall when he was shot in the heart in the main hall by an
unknown shooter minutes after handing his friend a notebook. Romero was quickly
taken to St. Vincent hospital and was confirmed dead. Born December 23rd, 1908,
as a child Achilles discovered his passion for healing people as a child. After school,
he often assisted his single mother, April nГ©e Sanchez, who worked as a nurse at
St. Vincent s hospital. His father had left them when Achilles was young and

My Experience In My New School
Freshman year was a relatively complicated year for me. I made a big change by
leaving the school district I grew up in for a school that would challenge me
academically. This wasn t an easy transition to go to a new school that I had no
friends at in the beginning, but I knew it was the place for me to be. I put my faith
in hard work and in the reputation of a school I had only been to once. Although
this sounds like the recipe for disaster, it ended up being the formula for success
for myself. I knew that if I worked hard in everything and trusted in the process then
eventually things will work out. I knew I would be able to accomplish things I had
never done before because of this school. Most people would call me crazy for
enrolling at Cathedral Prep due to the fact that it is an hour and a half one way.
From the beginning of this adventure, my parents said, We ll try it the first year
and see if it s the place for you. From that very first day I fell in love with the
school and realized I would have to give all the effort I possible could to my
academics and athletics at this school in order to excel, a very different concept
from the school I had just left. I came in to a new school with a cross country team
I had never met and a coach I knew nothing about. Ever since day one, I put my trust
completely in my coach and his training plan to make me the best runner I could
possibly be. The very first racewe ran against the returning Pennsylvania State

Environmental Sociology And The Environmental Justice...
Environmental sociology began to emerge in conjunction with the environmental
justice movement. Environmental sociology can be defined as the study of how
human societies interact with their environment. One important individual, Dr.
Robert Bullard, acted as a key person throughout the environmental justice
movement. He served as a technical advisor on civil right lawsuits and is now a
professor at Texas Southern University. Because of his research dedicated to
environmental issues pertaining the African American community, he is known as
the father of environmental justice. Under the umbrella of environmental sociology it
discusses concepts such as environmental justice and environmental inequalities.

This can be shown in areas that are considered fenceline communities. These are
communities that are located directly in the midst of toxic pollution. Residents who
live in these communities often accept their conditions of their surroundings and
wait for disasters to happen. These disasters include chemical spills or toxic
contamination that can demolish their communities at some point. These
individuals are also put at a higher risk for possible terrorist attacks. Moreover,
residents who live nearby also suffer by having their wealth stolen through lowered
property values. To show example, in 1992 the National Law Journal found
discrepancies in the way the Environmental Protection Agency enforced its
Superfund laws (Bullard Wright 2012). In the same year Michigan s Department of
Environmental Quality signed off on permits allowing Genesee Power Station to
build an eighty million dollar incinerator for construction use. This incinerator was
built beside a predominately black low income neighborhood (Burke 2017). The
residents were forced to be exposed to particulate matter, carbon monoxide, lead,
and acidic gases. Being within walking distance from a chemical site would
eventually begin to affect their quality of life and health (National Research
Council). If disasters are to take place they are often blamed on natural occurrences.
This concept tends to be pushed by corporations who do not want to own up to
The Characteristics Of Insects
Insects can be found all around the world. There are many insects of numerous types.
Insects can affect other organisms in different ways. Some types of insects can be
beneficial to the life of different organisms. Other types of insects can be harmful to
organisms. There are many characteristics of insectsthat include the attraction to other
organisms such as humans, plants, and animals. The attraction to other organisms has
made humans want to find ways to repel insects. The repelling of insects can make
other organisms unaffected by these creatures. This means the organisms will not
receive any types of benefits or harm.
There are many different characteristics of the body of insects. Insects have the skills
and ability to make observations and communicate the things that are observed. These
organisms usually have six legs. Some insects use these legs for jumping. Other
insects use these legs for walking. Many insects use the legs for both jumping and
running. Most insects have antennas. The antennas are usually positioned on the head
of the insect. Around the body of the insect, there is an exoskeleton. An exoskeleton
is a hard shell that shelters the body. Insects usually have wings. The wings are used
to give the insects the ability to fly. The wings are also used to camouflage insects
from predators and protect the body. These are just a small number of details about
the body.
Insects can be attracted to many different things. Many of these attractions are to
Essay On Your Financial Roadmap To A New Home
Your Financial Roadmap to a New Home
So, it s time to buy a home. Many of you likely are ready to do so for very different
reasons. For one, you might be starting a family and need more space. Two, you
might be only months from retirement and long have been ogling a move to the
beach. Three, you might want to live closer to aging family members. Four, you
might be facing a big career transfer.
Or, maybe it s simply time to become a homeowner. You re done with renting. Weary
of stuffing a landlord s wallet each month rather than building equity in your own
place (What s equity? We ll explain later).
Whatever your motivation, the path to homeownership is primarily a financial one.

Other times, they re a pleasant surprise. Regardless, they all contain a three digit
score that will be similar to each other, and range somewhere between 300 (lousy)
and 850 (awesome). A credit scoreof 700 is considered good.
Make a Plan
You can t plan for a new home until you know your credit scores. Good, bad or ugly,
they re a huge barometer of your overall financial health and a good guide for what
you should do next.
Let s assume your three credit scores are okay, but not super fantastic. You can fix
them. Just realize it s not a quick fix. You ll need at least a year of on time, credit
account payments to establish a healthier credit history. Doing that requires planning.
Start with a little homework jot down all your monthly income. Track how much
goes to bill paying and how much to necessary expenses such as groceries and gas.
Next, track how you spend the rest of that monthly income on clothes, restaurants,
movie tickets and so on.
Then, what can you cut? Don t say nothing. Small actions such as brewing your
own coffee at home rather than patronizing a coffee shop every day add up big over
time. If you re eating out every other night, dial it back. Pack a lunch to take to work.
Trek through a couple months spending records and you ll soon know where you can
cut the financial fat. For now, plan to stockpile all the extras in a savings account.

How Much Pollution Is The Air
Zmoke Stack Abstract It is quite unfortunate how much pollution is in the air.
There s a ton of global warming in the atmosphere, and it is killing many arctic
animals such as polar bears. We hate to see how our world is getting more polluted
each and every day! So in order to protect and save the world from these to be born
tragedy s , we decided to come up with the Zmoke Pods. Zmoke pods will have the
following chemicals inside; Krypton, Hydrogen, Xenon, Helium, Neon, Argon and
Radon. These chemicals are known as Noble Chemicals, because they dissolve
into smoke, take out the toxic specifics in it, and turn it into fresh, clean air. (By
going into the smoke molecules making them go bye bye )We all think that this
idea will reduce global warming, and save arctic animals. (Like the polar bears
which are really cute!) Thank you, EcoBears Zmoke PodsWe are basing this
project on tide pods/misters/sprinklers. This is how our idea is going to work:
Next to the smokestack, their will be something known as the Zmoke box. Now
this box, has the magnificent Zmoke pods. These pods have the Nobel chemicals
inside which are. On top of the Zmoke box, there s a big red button. Once you press
that button, thanks to compressed air, all of the Zmoke pods currently inside the box
will burst, and shoot to the nearest opening. Which will be a tube. The Zmoke tube
will follow up the smokestack, and into
The Question of Being Essay
The Question of Being
Martin Heidegger attempts to answer the question of Being by appealing to the
terminology and methodology of Dasein, most commonly defined as existence.
Dasein is not simply any kind of existence, however, but an existence that is unique
from all other existences in that it asks the question of existence while existing in the
existence itself. In other words, one must first understand Dasein in order to
understand Being because Dasein is a kind of being that is concerned about its very
Being. Contrary to the popular opinion that in order to truly and clearly comprehend
any phenomenon, the subject which interrogates must necessarily stand outside of
the object of the interrogation, Being cannot be understood ... Show more content on

By claiming that Dasein always understands itself in terms of its existence, in terms
of its possibility to be itself or not to be itself (54), an existentiell understanding of
Dasein is to denote the existence of Dasein as either realizing or ignoring its
possibilities for being or not being; an existential understanding of Dasein differs in
that it neither realizes nor ignores its existences but inquires into its existence, the
being of Dasein, Being itself. It is an existential analysis of Dasein that will reveal
Dasein, and ultimately Being.
An existential analysis of Dasein reveals that Dasein tends to understand its own
Being in terms of that being to which it is essentially, continually, and most closely
related the world (58). That is to say, Dasein is to be found in its average
everdayness because it is concealed in the same way that the meaning of Being is
concealed. Heidegger maintains that in using the common word is, we no longer
know what we mean. The subject object logic which we use every day conceals the
true meaning of what existence really is. Therefore, one must apply this reasoning
to Dasein and find the essence of Dasein in the average everydayness by stripping
away all that is arbitrary and accidental in the world. One unfolds the true form of
average everydayness by identifying the world of Dasein, which is the human world,
or more precisely, the soul. Heidegger characterizes Being as the totality of beings.

The Historical and Colonial Context of Brian Friel’s...
The Historical and Colonial Context of Brian Friel s Translations
Regarded by many as Brian Friel s theatrical masterpiece, Seamus Deane described
Translations as a sequence of events in history which are transformed by his
writing into a parable of events in the present day (Introduction 22). The play was
first produced in Derry in 1980. It was the first production by Field Day, a cultural
arts group founded by Friel and the actor Stephen Rea, and associated with Deane,
Seamus Heaney and Tom Paulin.
As Deane asserts, the play is in many respects an intelligent and enlightening
metaphor for the situation in Northern Ireland. The aims of raising cultural awareness
and dispelling socio political apathy in the North were central to ... Show more

This culminated in the Rebellion of 1798, lead by Wolfe Tone and the Society of
United Irishmen, in which Hugh and Jimmy participated: The road to Sligo. A
spring morning. 1798. Going into battle (445). But, as these characters soon
discovered, the rebellion failed resulting in large executions and the passing of the
Act of Union in 1800. This piece of legislation, effective from 1 January 1801,
brought Ireland under the direct rule of the British Crown.
1823 saw the rise of Daniel O Connell (the only real person mentioned in the play),
a disillusioned veteran of 1798 who founded the Catholic Association. O Connell
campaigned for better civil rights and social conditions for the Irish people, hence
Maire reporting that he said We should all be learning to speak English (399). O
Connell believed that it was necessary to use the English language in order to allow
Ireland to progress in a quickly modernising Western world. In 1829, due to his efforts
in Parliament, the Catholic Emancipation Act came into force overturning the penal
laws.
It was at this juncture, when the play takes place, that Britain began to make deeper
inroads to Irish society and culture. An attempt to colonise the mind and the people as
opposed to conquering land through brute force. Translations is Friel s vehicle for
representing methods central to the colonial discourse of Imperialist aspirations. In the

The repair of DSBs
NHEJ initiates when the DSBs is first recognized by the Ku heterodimer, composed
of the Ku70 and Ku80 proteins and binds to the DSB in a sequence independent
manner and in doing so and protects them from nucleolytic cleavage [33, 34]. The Ku
heterodimer then acts as a scaffold to recruits number NHEJ proteins including DNA
dependent protein kinase (DNA PKcs) to the DNA ends. DNA PKcs is a nuclear
protein kinase that phosphorylates a number of protein targets, including Artemis.
Once phosphorylated, Artemis forms an active endonucleolytic complex with DNA
PKcs that processes the DSB ends to make them compatible for ligation [33, 34]. Pol

In the synapsis step, the Rad51 ssDNA filament (presynaptic filament) performs
homology search and DNA strand invasion on a homologous region of another
duplex, which results in the formation of a displacement loop (D loop) [40]. In the
post synapsis stage of HR the invading 3′ end of the D loop primes DNA synthesis
by a DNA polymerase, which extends the D loop enabling the second 3 single
strand terminal end of the DSB to base pair with it a process that is called second
end capture. Once captured the second end can itself prime DNA synthesis, and
the result of these DNA transactions is the covalent linkage of the recombining
DNA molecules via two HJs. Depending on how the HJs are processed to form
mature recombinant products three sub pathways of HR are distinguished. In the
canonical DSBR model the two HJs (doubleHJ/dHJ) can move along the DNA by a
process called branch migration, which extends or limits the region of DNA
heteroduplex formed by strand exchange catalyzed in the second step. Subsequently,
dHJ intermediate could be resolved by endonucleases such as the Mus81 Eme1
/Mms4 complex, Slx1 Slx4 and the GEN1/Yen1, resulting in the formation of either
crossovers (CO) or non crossover (NCO) recombinants depending on the orientation
in which each HJ is cleaved

Right alongside the fifth and largest planet in our solar system, Jupiter, orbits a
moon only about the same size as Earth s moon. On this moon, is an icy surface that
scientists are trying to uncover. Due to the presence of what they believe to be water,
there is the possibility of life on this moon named Europa.
In 1609, Galileo Galilei, using spyglass which allowed one to see things closer than
they appeared, made an early version of the telescope. With it, he observed the skies
in a way no one had before. He discovered the moon isn t perfectly globular, it has
craters, the Sun has sunspots, Venus orbits the Sun (contrary to widespread belief in
his time), and then he observed four stars around Jupiter ( Our Solar System ). Within

Anne Helmenstine states, The snow is red due to the presence of Chlamydomonas
algae ( Colored Snow ). It could be possible the algae here on Earth is linked to the
red ridges seen on Europa. Also seen on the surface of Europa are eruptions of water
vapor. Fecht writes about the Hubble images relating to the geysers:
Analysis of Hubble ultraviolet light images of the moon from 1999 and 2012 suggest
that subsurface water sprays out of the moon s south pole in two geysers that are 124
miles (200 kilometers) high, according to the study led by planetary scientist Lorenz
Roth of the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) in San Antonio, Texas. (2013)
This could mean that there is water underneath the surface of this moon, but what
else lies beyond? Doppler tracking data obtained during four flybys done by
Galileo (spacecraft) past Europa exposed the moon s axial movement of inertia,
suggesting a partial compression of material in the direction of Europa s epicenter.
Three layer models created by reasonable arrangements propose that Europa
contains an outermost water (H2O) layer and has a density close to 80 to 200
kilometers thick, a middle layer of a silicate rock mantle, and maybe a biphasic
material (Fe FeS) metallic core. Models created without a metallic core are steady
with the data but need high silicate densities. More credible models have a metallic
core thirty to fifty percent of Europa s radius in magnitude and a silicate mantle

These are the three strategies that the firm considered each and every strategy has its

Implementing this strategy will Improve operational efficiency of the firm.
Operational efficiency is inevitable for any organisation to grow their business. As

system it will provide extra motivation for the employees to achieve both the firms

Holden Caulfield Communication
The Catcher and the Rye by J.D Salinger argues for the importance of
communication and companionship. Holden Caulfield s journey beings with him
failing out of his 4th school Pencey, and from the very beginning and throughout
the book holden displays clear signs of depression, such as, social isolation, lack of
interest in almost everything, his inability to concentrate and thoughts of suicide.
You couldn t see the grandstand too hot, but you could hear them all yelling, deep

All you knew was, you were happy. You really were. One of the few people that
Holden liked was Jane Gallagher, she s the only person Holden talked to about the
loss of his brother and when he finds out Stardelator is taking her on a date he
thinks about the childhood he shared with her. He wants to go and say hi but he s
nervous and avoids it. What d you do? I said. Give her the time in Ed Banky s

know if Stradelator gave her the time Holden remembers Jane as innocent and is
scared by the thought of her losing her innocence and losing their connection.
When Stradlater avoids the question Holden becomes very irritable and turns
violent and attempts to kill Stradelator. . This next part I don t remember so hot.
All I know is I got up from the bed, like I was going down to the can or something,

Dr. Malcom Sayer s Awakening
Awakening is based on a true story of a neurologist named Oliver Sacks; he was
portrayed by Dr. Malcom Sayer that was played by Robin Williams. He is a
neurologist who moved to a new institution in 1969 and was able to make a
miracle to some patients who were catatonic. A boy named Leonard showed at the
first, it was confusing since nobody knew what was happening to him. His hand
kept on twitching and being stiff, he couldn t write properly because of that. Then
the scene changed and it was 1969. There came Dr. Malcom Sayer a neurologist

But the one actor who stood out was Robert De Niro as Leonard Lowe. The person
that he did as Leonard Lowe wasn t a very easy job because he has to act as if he
actually is sick. Leonard is always getting hurt; his voice isn t normal, and the way
his actions were in the movie. I m positive that Robert De Niro had a hard time
portraying his character. The way he acted it so well fascinates me and made me
realize that he is a great actor. In the movie, there are some parts that I didn t like.
It is where all the patients that were awakened became asleep again. That part
made me sad and also made me realize that all good things must come to an end
even if no one wants that. There were also parts that I liked for example; when the
nurse cursed and said that it s a miracle, also that time where Leonard has awoken.
Those events made me realize that miracles do happened in one s life when we
least expected it to be. Since the movie has a genre of the movie is drama, the rate

Limitations Of Standardized Test Scores
By the time a student has reached their senior year of high school, they have taken a
standardized test a great number of times in order to get the score to attend their
college of choice. A standardized test is any exam that is given and scored in a
predetermined, standard manner. The SAT and ACT are known as standardized
aptitude tests (Popham). SATstands for Scholastic Assessment Testand ACT stands
for American College Testing. The SAT was first given in 1926 and the ACT
followed in 1959. Students spend hours preparing and taking these tests only to find
out that their score was not good enough in order to go where they want to go. Many
students then get frustrated about it and settle for a college where they are not happy.
The weight of standardized test scores in the admissions process is unfair to
students. All students prepare for the test in some way or another. Some parents will
pay hundreds of dollars on test prep class and materials in hopes that their child will
succeed on the test and attend a top college. Students come from various economic
backgrounds, so parents may not be able to afford the test prep classes and materials
but they want their child to succeed and attend college where they want to go. These
students still deserve the chance to go to their dream school even though their parents
cannot afford the test prep. The children should not be punished just because of their
economic situation. A number of universities claim that the test scores help
The United States Code ( U.s. )
The United States Code (U.S.C.) establishes and governs the form, function, duties,
and responsibilities of the US Government . The foundational to US National
Security and foreign relations are based on the three titles in the U.S.C, namely, Title
10, Title 22, and Title 50; which govern US Armed Forces, the Department of State,
public diplomacy efforts, and national defense (American Security Project, 2012).
However, the National Security Act of 1947 was the first U.S. law on the conduct of
intelligence operations. The act established the Central Intelligence Agencyto collect,
analyze, evaluate, and disseminate foreign intelligence to assist the President and
senior US government policymakers in making decisions relating to national security
(Central Intelligence Agency (2013). This intelligence law help to define the roles of
policymakers, (Executive Branch oversight, and Congressional oversight) while
making decisions relating to national security; and also defined the scope and
functions of intelligence community. For instance, the President who is the head of
the executive branch and commander in chief has the authority to direct military
operations and intelligence activities against external threats resides in his
Constitutional executive and commander in chief powers (Wall, 2011).
However, Congress has an oversight power over the president intelligence collection
power and activities. Article I, Section 8, paragraph 18 of the United States

The American Public Education System
In American two out of three eighth graders can t read proficiently and for African
American and Hispanic students across the country dropout rates are close to 40
percent and those were just two of the many ways the American Education System
has failed its members. Education in the United States is provided by public schools
and private schools. Public educationis universally required at the kindergarten
through twelfth grade level. Budgets and policies are set through locally elected
schoolboards, who have jurisdiction over individual school districts. State
governments set overall educational standards, often mandate standardized tests for K
12 public schoolsystems, and supervise, usually through a board of regents, state
colleges and universities. Funding for public schools come from the state, local, and
federal government. However, with all the aforementioned points of intervention is a
new issue which only serves to reinforce my thesis that the American Public
Education System or APES for short is a static system in which over governing,
overcrowding, and forced assimilation have run rampant. In recent years the APES
has been undergoing a crisis in which academic performance has been falling behind
other countries such as Russia, Japan, and China in core subjects. While there seems
to be a lack of public knowledge about this pressing issue its precedence still speaks
volumes about what is currently happing within our country. In comparison to

Nondenominational Church
Begin here.... What did you think of the service? my dad asked as my family
packed into the van. My parents wanted to show us different types of churches
than the Anglican one we had attended for years. While we wanted to visit more,
we had suddenly found our next church before searching more than a month. We
believe that some denominations are more righteous while others not, but as long
as they are Christian I say that does not matter. Anglican and nondenominational
churches along with others do not matter as long as they have truly Christen
congregations. First, Anglican is a denomination where with the two in my town
have gone both negative and positive ways for me. A church here, Saint Mary s, is
not a church I agree with. I do not see it right to ring the bells at communion to
make the magic happen as my parent joked, or pray to Mary which I see as one of
the worst parts. Our previous church, Saint Patrick s, we loved because of the
people and how they explained the different parts of the service as not magical or
anything but just tradition and they also agree you should not pray to Mary but only
God. If in a church, they practice what the bible says not to do, then I would not
recommend that church.

As long as a church basically runs correctly with Christens in it, it is fine. With some
denominations, there could exist obvious problems. If the people do not believe that
Jesus saved them, then it shows, an obvious sign and people should not even define it
as Christen. The definition of denomination means a recognized autonomous branch
of the Christen Church. The denomination just means how that group worships, not
the individual churches, so any problem with the religion come from a single church.
The denomination does not matter as much as the people
Afghanistan Drug Trafficking
In western societies, families are living comfortable lifestyles, non threatening jobs,
and are blessed to witness their children growing up. However, in Afghanistan,
citizens are relying on opium poppy plants from drug dealers as their source of
survival, with the risk of endangering their family. Nevertheless, when there is a
discrepancy between the farmer and drugtrafficker, problems arise. In the PBS
documentary Opium Brides, families are left with the fate of sacrificing their own
children, in order to survive. Farmers in Afghanistan are reliant on opium plants to
provide stability in their homes, however the government is against opium. Most of
the countries economy is resulted from the production of opium; about 90% of
families in Afghanistan produce opium . Harvesting crops such as wheat or maze has
lower cash revenue than opium, and takes longer to grow1. Because other crops have
little results in economic stability, many families have no choice but to grow opium
crops. Although... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Afghanistan, opium drug trafficking is present. This form of organized crime is
the production of supply and financing of illegal markets in good and services4. With
opium being transported from Afghanistan, this unauthorized activity is dominant in
the state. Because drug trafficking is prominent in the region, there is an organized
threat legitimacy of the state4. Through money lending also being an illegal activity
present, the state is unable to protect its citizens against debt settling with children.
This type of money lending involves loaning families money with a high risk of using
their children as goods for trading4. Because of these two illegal acts of organized
criminality, traffickers in Afghanistan have the advantage over the state. Thus,
through transporting illegal goods and loaning money out to families, these drug
traffickers dominate and threaten the Afghanistan
Avoid Sensory Overload Advantages And Disadvantages

Satire In Animal Farm
Compare how George Orwell and the Cartoonist (image below) utilise satire to
communicate social issues and ideas. Both Animal Farm by George Orwell and the
Cartoon utilize satire to communicate social issues and ideas extremely effectively.
This is demonstrated by how they represent the rise and balance of power in society.
The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism to represent different societal issues
that occur in different historical settings. They both also used satireto demonstrate
language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal Farm
and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use
of symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal
Farm to shows how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He
carried a whip in his trotter. The whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the
beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control over the animals. Later in the
novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the audience how
the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of
the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to
control the other animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to
many different historical settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this
era. George Orwell also used the symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate
representation of the balance of power in society without directly talking about a
real life historical events which is a clear example of satire. The method that
George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon. The
Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the
politician who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was
leading the animals. The Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding
the government up to demonstrate how there is a balance of power. If the people
were not standing on the plank than the government would fall. This demonstrates
that the government only has power over the people because the people allow them
to which is a social issue that

The Abstract Expressionist Movement, By Mark Rothko
And...
The abstract expressionist movement, with artists such as Mark Rothko and Bernat
Newman were articulating a response to an apocalyptic era in which selfhood, not
to mention art, was dwarfed by the enormity of manifold historical cataclysm
including the Great Depression, the Second World War and the mass tension of the
Cold War. Clyfford Still, on the other hand objective was not to express the
relationship between the past, the individual or the organic life force embodied by
the art, but his answer was to internalize the awful forces outside until despair and
revelation occurred. It is through Clifford Still s development of jagged, vertical
forms, which he sets against vast reaches of space, and the tiny bits or threads of color
tracing through great vaults of color in his painting evoke a greater natural force that
operates within the inner self.
Spending most of his childhood on farms in western Canada and Washington State

nutrient that is needed to maintain both bone and muscle health and is essential for
blood vessel formation.1 A deficiency of vitamin c can result in diseases such as

Embracing Depression Essay
We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars. Oscar Wilde Perhaps I
feel compelled to write on the subject of depression because it is a selfish disease. It
seeps into every crevice of one s life; it refuses to be ignored, to be relegated to some
obscure cornerof the mind. Perhaps I m writing about it because of what I have
learned about my relationship with the disease. Perhaps the time has come when I m
readyto stop cursing the depression and start embracing it.
What I m about to say is terribly unfashionable, and I hope that you will forgive any
offense that it may cause. In all truthfulness, I m glad that I have lived with

that I should resist the attempts to heal the depression. A part of me believed that if I
let the medications and psychotherapy take the depression away from me, I would be
lost. Rather than seeing myself as a person with depression, I saw myself as a

I have finally reached the point where I can see both the horrors and the beauty of
depression. It is something that should be neither glorified nor reviled. I am able to
hate the illness for stealing away moments of my childhood while simultaneously
appreciating the insight it has helped me to gain. Had I not known the absolute
anguish it brought, I would not now recognize supreme happiness. Had I not
experienced the heartache of personal defeat, I would not find such succor in
emotional triumph. Had there not been times when I thought of

This was the main reason behind her migration. It is very strenuous to a woman in
a macho society, and an occupied country to be positive, have faith to be successful
and passes the march of life. Beside that, when she moves to America she was
facing a lot of actions of racism, and also her son. Fady s classmates started to
make fun of him, attack him just because he is a Palestinian migrant. Furthermore,
when she was not accepted in any job similar to her previous job at the bank the

maybe this is not a scene of full racism, but at least the banks were refusing her

The ownership claim in corporations is defined by the amount of shares owned and
can be easily transferred by selling off the shares. Because individual share can be

Betrayal in Malory s Le Morte D’Arthur
Malory Paper
Malory s Le Morte D Arthur isn t known to be classic just because of Arthur but
rather the themes of family, love, revenge, identity, loyalty and betrayal. As King,
Arthur is put in many situations that test the people he surrounds himself with.
Therefore, betrayal has become a reoccurring theme. Throughout the novel, people
are seen betraying each other. Betrayal has become familiar in a way to the
members of the round table, ultimately leading to it s demise. The acts of betrayal
occur in various forms, whether it be through adultery or just going behind the other
person s back. Regardless of how it happens it brings about serious disorder for all
involved.

The fact that Gwynevere is the King Arthur wife means that she is committing treason
by having her relationship with Lancelot. Yet again the novel Arthur is being betrayed.
The love that Trystrames and Isoud shared is talked about once again. But this
time is for a completely different reason. Now instead of the feeling of betrayal
coming from King Mark, it s coming from Trystrames. As a result of her deciding
to accept another man s love letters. Alas madame! The good love that I have lovyd
you, and many londis and grete rychesse have I forsakyn for youre love! And now
ye are a traytouras unto me, whych dothe me grete payne. (Malory 299) He
expresses the fact he feels like she betrayed his love for her.He even says that he has
forsaken great riches for her love and betraying their love has left him in pain.
Towards the end of the novel we see what Arthur s thoughts are about betrayal. The

(Malory 654) King Arthur is stating that committing is adultery is seen as treason and
the answer for that should be death. According to Breier, Malory was facing a moral
dilemma with respect to the love affair between Lancelot and Gwenyvere: on the one
hand, he claimed Lancelot to be the most virtuous knight in the Arthurian realm, and
on the other he relates for the first time in
Marx Vs Fanon
Following an extensive description of both Fanon and Marx distinct, yet similar
critique of their respective societal status quos upon time of writing, the focus of this
paper will shift towards each writer s philosophical explanation as to why their
assessment of both capitalist and colonial societies possesses logical reasoning.
Interestingly enough, Marx cites, the discovery of America, and the rounding of the
Cape, (Marx 718) as pivotal events in the the ultimate rise of modern industrialization,
revealing an intersection among historical materialists such as Fanon who configures
these events as the apply to the framework of post colonial discourse. With regards to

Central to Fanon s philosophy concerning the process of Decolonization rests the
mutual understanding among both groups that their positions are the result of
specific historic processes. Yet, under the oppression of the colonizers, the colonized
fail to empower themselves because the colonist, continues to fabricate the colonized
subject. (Fanon 826). This fabrication manifests in the colonizer s use of institutional
mechanisms such as education, incarceration and economic opportunity to
promulgate a collective identity in which the identity of the colonized remains that of
a people born less than their oppressors. Adopting this false identity, the colonized
community becomes, a sector of niggers, a sector of towelheads, whose, dreams of
possession, (Fanon 827) remain dreams until those colonized peoples are able to
empower themselves and overthrow the colonizer s systems of control. Like Marx,
Fanon seeks to deliberate the exact modes and methods by which the colonial system
retains power over the colonized peoples, their lands, and the resources which abound
throughout them. Unlike Marx, Fanon credits the direct subjectgation of countless
peoples from countless nations, tribes and languages to what race one belongs to.
(Fanon 827) The presupposition that the colonizer forever remains, first and foremost
the outsider (Fanon 827) further supports the philosopher s absolute means of
societal upheaval in that Marxist economic theories of oppression pertaining to the
bankers, customs house, and elsewhere fails to account for the sociological
justifications which the colonial system propagates
Advantages And Disadvantages Of Composites
1 CHAPTER. 1 COMPOSITES 1.1 Introduction A composite is when two or more
different materials are combined together to create a material which is superior and
unique and holding different properties than earlier. Light weight high strength
materials are essential in fabrication of aerospace structures like airframes, rocket
motor casings, nozzles and wings. The composites are the materials formed by
embedding fibers in the plastic that add characteristics like high resistance to fatigue,
anticorrosive, high tensile strength or stiffness with weight savings up to 25 45%
compare with conventional metallic designs. Composites possess greater reliability,
which are capable to meet the design requirements, easier to achieve smooth
aerodynamic profiles against drag reduction and high resistance to impact damage.
The capacity to tailor the fundamental material properties of a cover has permitted
new ways to deal with the plan of air flexible flight structures. The above
preferences make an interpretation of into aero plane as well as into the rocket
frameworks that can go with high speed under extreme warm condition amid reentry

Epoxies are widely used in primary construction composite materials for high strength
performance, adhesives, casting compounds, sealants, varnishes and paints as well as
laminating resins. Epoxies generally have higher values of fracture toughness than
polyesters and vinyl esters which may result in superior fatigue performance of the
laminates. There are two types of epoxies one with bisophenol A and another is
novolac type compositions are commercially available. These resin systems are
curable both at room and high temperatures. Epoxies are most suitable to prepreging,
filament winding and laminating
How Is Humor Used In Andy Weir s The Martian
NASA has been trying to survive on Mars for years, but in this novel, they already
have. The Martian is a science fiction novel about Mark Watney, a botanist for
NASA, is involved in a mission to Mars, until one day he is left behind on Mars with
limited supplies. Watney has to persevere through several challenges to get back
home, and try not to die in the process. The Martian is a very suspenseful book
written by the interesting author, Andy Weir, who uses humor to counter the drama.
Andy Weir has led an exciting and interesting science filled life, for instance, when
Weir was fifteen, he got hired as a programmer for a national laboratory
(BookBrowse), and later attended college at the University of California
(Lundquist). Space travel, orbital dynamics, relativistic physics, astronomy, and the
history of manned spaceflight are a few of Weir s interests, that he said inspired

The main idea is that Mark Watney gets stranded on Marswith no means of
communication, as shown in this quote; Everyone made it but me (Weir 4). This
is part of Mark telling the story of how he got stranded, and it lets readers know he
is completely alone. That is the main struggle for Watney, but he faces numerous
other huge challenges and technical issues, for example I m very lucky it hasn t

struggle to stay alive. The amazing use of suspense in this novel will keep readers

A Report On The Iphone 3g
On January 9, 2007 Steve Jobs gave a presentation where he introduced a widescreen
iPod with touch controls, a revolutionary mobile phone, and a breakthrough internet
device. He combined all three and introduced the iphone. The tech team kept working
on the phones for any tweaks they would get. On September 5, 2007 Steve Jobssaid
The surveys are in and iPhonecustomer satisfaction scores are higher than we ve
ever seen for any Apple product. We ve clearly got a breakthrough product and we
want to make it affordable for even more customers as we enter this holiday season.

It was hot. It was the iPhone 4. It was flat, chemically hardened glass
(aluminosilicate) front and back, with a stainless steel band that ran around the
sides, and it was 24% thinner than the iPhone 3GS. For the first time, Apple also
added a front camera, VGA resolution. While it was a boon to the profile pics and
selfies that were growing in popularity, it also allowed Apple to launch FaceTime
video calling. iPhone 4S plus iOS 5 plus iCloud is a breakthrough combination that
makes the iPhone 4S the best iPhone ever. While our competitors try to imitate
iPhone with a checklist of features, only iPhone can deliver these breakthrough
innovations that work seamlessly together. Like the iPhone 3GS before it kept the
same basic design as previous year s model. The iPhone 4S also kept the same
composition as the iPhone 4, with two layers of chemically hardened glass
sandwiched on either side of a stainless steel antenna band. As usual, it was meant as
the first iPhone for new customers, or an upgrade for iPhone 3GS customers coming
off contract (albeit a few months late). Although there were some who felt the
upgrade wasn t big enough or visible enough, reviews were generally excellent.
Apple senior vice president of worldwide marketing introduced the biggest thing to
happen to the iPhone since the original iPhone. Big as in tall. Big as in light. Big as
in LTE. Big as in the iPhone 5. iPhone 5 is the most beautiful consumer

The Lighthouse After School Program
Introduction The nonprofit organization that I chose to conduct research on is called
the Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is an after school program for middle and high
school students. I decided to research this organization because I have had a few
friends volunteer there and I have heard nothing but positive comments about it. I
really wanted find out more about the Lighthouse because from the little that I
already knew about it, I felt that it provided a safe harbor for our youth in Lincoln
and I think that type of organization is a great asset to the community. In this research
paper, I will discuss the history of Lighthouse, the mission and values of the
organization, programs and enrichment that is provided, projects that have been
beneficial to the community, financials, and last but not least, I will talk about the
staff and team at Lighthouse.
History The Lighthouse After School Program was created in the year 1990 by Peter
and Maureen Allman and Jim Perry according to the Lighthouse website
(Lighthouse, 2015). Pete Allman visited a similar organization called The Covenant
House while he was in New York City and when he came back to Lincoln he was
told by many that the community and city of Lincoln, Nebraska needed a safe place
where youth could go and hangout. With the funding from Woods Charitable Fund,
the Lighthouse was able to be set up in the Atwood House on 17th and G. After a
year at the house, the Lighthouse was moved to a different location across
Drugs, Morphine, And Vicodin
Codeine, morphine, and vicodin are some prescription drugs that one may hear of
for treating pain. What some people do not know is that in the early 20th century,
these drugs were very harmful because they were being made into others much
worse. Many of these drugs come from the same types of places and plants and are
also made in a similar way. Cocaine, morphine, and heroinstarted to be produced just
as often as the first opioid based prescription drugs and the only difference is that
these were much more addictive and dangerous. The introduction of drugs in
America caused a serious problem in the early 20th century that spread like a
wildfire. As these drugs began to worsen, President Nixon formed the Drug
Enforcement Administration (DEA) to combat these lethal drugs, as well as the
gangs and cartels distributing them.
In 1968, the Justice Department s Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs was
formed to try and combat the rise in illegal drugs. The agents in this department
were composed of previous agents from two separate departments, the Federal
Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) and the Bureau of Drug Abuse Control (BDAC). After
a few years, the Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (BNDD) failed to even
decrease the illegal drug usage slightly. The president at the time, Richard Nixon,
proposed a new offer to combat the war on drugs. The proposition passed and
President Nixon stated, In order to decrease the illegal drug problems in America, we
have to first stop

  • 3. My Experience In My New School Freshman year was a relatively complicated year for me. I made a big change by leaving the school district I grew up in for a school that would challenge me academically. This wasn t an easy transition to go to a new school that I had no friends at in the beginning, but I knew it was the place for me to be. I put my faith in hard work and in the reputation of a school I had only been to once. Although this sounds like the recipe for disaster, it ended up being the formula for success for myself. I knew that if I worked hard in everything and trusted in the process then eventually things will work out. I knew I would be able to accomplish things I had never done before because of this school. Most people would call me crazy for enrolling at Cathedral Prep due to the fact that it is an hour and a half one way. From the beginning of this adventure, my parents said, We ll try it the first year and see if it s the place for you. From that very first day I fell in love with the school and realized I would have to give all the effort I possible could to my academics and athletics at this school in order to excel, a very different concept from the school I had just left. I came in to a new school with a cross country team I had never met and a coach I knew nothing about. Ever since day one, I put my trust completely in my coach and his training plan to make me the best runner I could possibly be. The very first racewe ran against the returning Pennsylvania State Champions,
  • 4. Environmental Sociology And The Environmental Justice... Environmental sociology began to emerge in conjunction with the environmental justice movement. Environmental sociology can be defined as the study of how human societies interact with their environment. One important individual, Dr. Robert Bullard, acted as a key person throughout the environmental justice movement. He served as a technical advisor on civil right lawsuits and is now a professor at Texas Southern University. Because of his research dedicated to environmental issues pertaining the African American community, he is known as the father of environmental justice. Under the umbrella of environmental sociology it discusses concepts such as environmental justice and environmental inequalities. When racial and socially marginalized... Residents who live in these communities often accept their conditions of their surroundings and wait for disasters to happen. These disasters include chemical spills or toxic contamination that can demolish their communities at some point. These individuals are also put at a higher risk for possible terrorist attacks. Moreover, residents who live nearby also suffer by having their wealth stolen through lowered property values. To show example, in 1992 the National Law Journal found discrepancies in the way the Environmental Protection Agency enforced its Superfund laws (Bullard Wright 2012). In the same year Michigan s Department of Environmental Quality signed off on permits allowing Genesee Power Station to build an eighty million dollar incinerator for construction use. This incinerator was built beside a predominately black low income neighborhood (Burke 2017). The residents were forced to be exposed to particulate matter, carbon monoxide, lead, and acidic gases. Being within walking distance from a chemical site would eventually begin to affect their quality of life and health (National Research Council). If disasters are to take place they are often blamed on natural occurrences. This concept tends to be pushed by corporations who do not want to own up to

Some types of insects can be beneficial to the life of different organisms. Other types of insects can be harmful to organisms. There are many characteristics of insectsthat include the attraction to other organisms such as humans, plants, and animals. The attraction to other organisms has made humans want to find ways to repel insects. The repelling of insects can make other organisms unaffected by these creatures. This means the organisms will not receive any types of benefits or harm. There are many different characteristics of the body of insects. Insects have the skills and ability to make observations and communicate the things that are observed. These organisms usually have six legs. Some insects use these legs for jumping. Other insects use these legs for walking. Many insects use the legs for both jumping and running. Most insects have antennas. The antennas are usually positioned on the head of the insect. Around the body of the insect, there is an exoskeleton. An exoskeleton is a hard shell that shelters the body. Insects usually have wings. The wings are used to give the insects the ability to fly. The wings are also used to camouflage insects from predators and protect the body. These are just a small number of details about the body. Insects can be attracted to many different things. There s a ton of global warming in the atmosphere, and it is killing many arctic animals such as polar bears. We hate to see how our world is getting more polluted each and every day! So in order to protect and save the world from these to be born tragedy s , we decided to come up with the Zmoke Pods. Zmoke pods will have the following chemicals inside; Krypton, Hydrogen, Xenon, Helium, Neon, Argon and Radon. These chemicals are known as Noble Chemicals, because they dissolve into smoke, take out the toxic specifics in it, and turn it into fresh, clean air. (By going into the smoke molecules making them go bye bye )We all think that this idea will reduce global warming, and save arctic animals. (Like the polar bears which are really cute!) Thank you, EcoBears Zmoke PodsWe are basing this project on tide pods/misters/sprinklers. This is how our idea is going to work: Next to the smokestack, their will be something known as the Zmoke box. Now this box, has the magnificent Zmoke pods. These pods have the Nobel chemicals inside which are. On top of the Zmoke box, there s a big red button. Once you press that button, thanks to compressed air, all of the Zmoke pods currently inside the box will burst, and shoot to the nearest opening. Which will be a tube. The Zmoke tube will follow up the smokestack, and into
  • 8. The Question of Being Essay The Question of Being Martin Heidegger attempts to answer the question of Being by appealing to the terminology and methodology of Dasein, most commonly defined as existence. Dasein is not simply any kind of existence, however, but an existence that is unique from all other existences in that it asks the question of existence while existing in the existence itself. In other words, one must first understand Dasein in order to understand Being because Dasein is a kind of being that is concerned about its very Being. Contrary to the popular opinion that in order to truly and clearly comprehend any phenomenon, the subject which interrogates must necessarily stand outside of the object of the interrogation, Being cannot be understood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By claiming that Dasein always understands itself in terms of its existence, in terms of its possibility to be itself or not to be itself (54), an existentiell understanding of Dasein is to denote the existence of Dasein as either realizing or ignoring its possibilities for being or not being; an existential understanding of Dasein differs in that it neither realizes nor ignores its existences but inquires into its existence, the being of Dasein, Being itself. It is an existential analysis of Dasein that will reveal Dasein, and ultimately Being. An existential analysis of Dasein reveals that Dasein tends to understand its own Being in terms of that being to which it is essentially, continually, and most closely related the world (58). That is to say, Dasein is to be found in its average everdayness because it is concealed in the same way that the meaning of Being is concealed. Heidegger maintains that in using the common word is, we no longer know what we mean. The subject object logic which we use every day conceals the true meaning of what existence really is. Therefore, one must apply this reasoning to Dasein and find the essence of Dasein in the average everydayness by stripping away all that is arbitrary and accidental in the world. One unfolds the true form of average everydayness by identifying the world of Dasein, which is the human world, or more precisely, the soul. Heidegger characterizes Being as the totality of beings. He appeals to

The Historical and Colonial Context of Brian Friel s Translations Regarded by many as Brian Friel s theatrical masterpiece, Seamus Deane described Translations as a sequence of events in history which are transformed by his writing into a parable of events in the present day (Introduction 22). The play was first produced in Derry in 1980. It was the first production by Field Day, a cultural arts group founded by Friel and the actor Stephen Rea, and associated with Deane, Seamus Heaney and Tom Paulin. As Deane asserts, the play is in many respects an intelligent and enlightening metaphor for the situation in Northern Ireland. This piece of legislation, effective from 1 January 1801, brought Ireland under the direct rule of the British Crown. 1823 saw the rise of Daniel O Connell (the only real person mentioned in the play), a disillusioned veteran of 1798 who founded the Catholic Association. O Connell campaigned for better civil rights and social conditions for the Irish people, hence Maire reporting that he said We should all be learning to speak English (399). O Connell believed that it was necessary to use the English language in order to allow Ireland to progress in a quickly modernising Western world. In 1829, due to his efforts in Parliament, the Catholic Emancipation Act came into force overturning the penal laws. It was at this juncture, when the play takes place, that Britain began to make deeper inroads to Irish society and culture. An attempt to colonise the mind and the people as opposed to conquering land through brute force. Db Lab Report The repair of DSBs NHEJ initiates when the DSBs is first recognized by the Ku heterodimer, composed of the Ku70 and Ku80 proteins and binds to the DSB in a sequence independent manner and in doing so and protects them from nucleolytic cleavage [33, 34]. The Ku heterodimer then acts as a scaffold to recruits number NHEJ proteins including DNA dependent protein kinase (DNA PKcs) to the DNA ends. DNA PKcs is a nuclear protein kinase that phosphorylates a number of protein targets, including Artemis. Once phosphorylated, Artemis forms an active endonucleolytic complex with DNA PKcs that processes the DSB ends to make them compatible for ligation [33, 34]. In the synapsis step, the Rad51 ssDNA filament (presynaptic filament) performs homology search and DNA strand invasion on a homologous region of another duplex, which results in the formation of a displacement loop (D loop) [40]. In the post synapsis stage of HR the invading 3′ end of the D loop primes DNA synthesis by a DNA polymerase, which extends the D loop enabling the second 3 single strand terminal end of the DSB to base pair with it a process that is called second end capture. Once captured the second end can itself prime DNA synthesis, and the result of these DNA transactions is the covalent linkage of the recombining DNA molecules via two HJs. Depending on how the HJs are processed to form mature recombinant products three sub pathways of HR are distinguished. In the canonical DSBR model the two HJs (doubleHJ/dHJ) can move along the DNA by a process called branch migration, which extends or limits the region of DNA heteroduplex formed by strand exchange catalyzed in the second step. Subsequently, dHJ intermediate could be resolved by endonucleases such as the Mus81 Eme1 /Mms4 complex, Slx1 Slx4 and the GEN1/Yen1, resulting in the formation of either crossovers (CO) or non crossover (NCO) recombinants depending on the orientation in which each HJ is cleaved

On this moon, is an icy surface that scientists are trying to uncover. Due to the presence of what they believe to be water, there is the possibility of life on this moon named Europa. In 1609, Galileo Galilei, using spyglass which allowed one to see things closer than they appeared, made an early version of the telescope. With it, he observed the skies in a way no one had before. He discovered the moon isn t perfectly globular, it has craters, the Sun has sunspots, Venus orbits the Sun (contrary to widespread belief in his time), and then he observed four stars around Jupiter ( Our Solar System ). It could be possible the algae here on Earth is linked to the red ridges seen on Europa. Also seen on the surface of Europa are eruptions of water vapor. Fecht writes about the Hubble images relating to the geysers: Analysis of Hubble ultraviolet light images of the moon from 1999 and 2012 suggest that subsurface water sprays out of the moon s south pole in two geysers that are 124 miles (200 kilometers) high, according to the study led by planetary scientist Lorenz Roth of the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) in San Antonio, Texas. (2013) This could mean that there is water underneath the surface of this moon, but what else lies beyond? Doppler tracking data obtained during four flybys done by Galileo (spacecraft) past Europa exposed the moon s axial movement of inertia, suggesting a partial compression of material in the direction of Europa s epicenter. Three layer models created by reasonable arrangements propose that Europa contains an outermost water (H2O) layer and has a density close to 80 to 200 kilometers thick, a middle layer of a silicate rock mantle, and maybe a biphasic material (Fe FeS) metallic core. Models created without a metallic core are steady with the data but need high silicate densities. More credible models have a metallic core thirty to fifty percent of Europa s radius in magnitude and a silicate mantle

Limitations Of Standardized Test Scores By the time a student has reached their senior year of high school, they have taken a standardized test a great number of times in order to get the score to attend their college of choice. A standardized test is any exam that is given and scored in a predetermined, standard manner. The SAT and ACT are known as standardized aptitude tests (Popham). SATstands for Scholastic Assessment Testand ACT stands for American College Testing. The SAT was first given in 1926 and the ACT followed in 1959. Students spend hours preparing and taking these tests only to find out that their score was not good enough in order to go where they want to go. Many students then get frustrated about it and settle for a college where they are not happy. The weight of standardized test scores in the admissions process is unfair to students. All students prepare for the test in some way or another. Some parents will pay hundreds of dollars on test prep class and materials in hopes that their child will succeed on the test and attend a top college. Students come from various economic backgrounds, so parents may not be able to afford the test prep classes and materials but they want their child to succeed and attend college where they want to go. These students still deserve the chance to go to their dream school even though their parents cannot afford the test prep. The American Public Education System In American two out of three eighth graders can t read proficiently and for African American and Hispanic students across the country dropout rates are close to 40 percent and those were just two of the many ways the American Education System has failed its members. Education in the United States is provided by public schools and private schools. Public educationis universally required at the kindergarten through twelfth grade level. Budgets and policies are set through locally elected schoolboards, who have jurisdiction over individual school districts. State governments set overall educational standards, often mandate standardized tests for K 12 public schoolsystems, and supervise, usually through a board of regents, state colleges and universities. Funding for public schools come from the state, local, and federal government. However, with all the aforementioned points of intervention is a new issue which only serves to reinforce my thesis that the American Public Education System or APES for short is a static system in which over governing, overcrowding, and forced assimilation have run rampant. In recent years the APES has been undergoing a crisis in which academic performance has been falling behind other countries such as Russia, Japan, and China in core subjects. We believe that some denominations are more righteous while others not, but as long as they are Christian I say that does not matter. Anglican and nondenominational churches along with others do not matter as long as they have truly Christen congregations. First, Anglican is a denomination where with the two in my town have gone both negative and positive ways for me. A church here, Saint Mary s, is not a church I agree with. Our previous church, Saint Patrick s, we loved because of the people and how they explained the different parts of the service as not magical or anything but just tradition and they also agree you should not pray to Mary but only God. • 30. Satire In Animal Farm Compare how George Orwell and the Cartoonist (image below) utilise satire to communicate social issues and ideas. Both Animal Farm by George Orwell and the Cartoon utilize satire to communicate social issues and ideas extremely effectively. This is demonstrated by how they represent the rise and balance of power in society. The effect is achieved by the use of symbolism to represent different societal issues that occur in different historical settings. They both also used satireto demonstrate language and visual techniques to portray key issues in society. Firstly, Animal Farm and the Cartoon demonstrate the rise and balance of power in society through the use of symbolism. To utilize satire effectively George Orwellused symbolism in Animal Farm to shows how power can change people. This is shown by the quote He carried a whip in his trotter. The whip is the symbol of power as the whip in the beginning of the novel is shown as Jones s control over the animals. Later in the novel when Napoleon is using the whip again, it demonstrates to the audience how the power that he had at Animal Farm eventually changed him. The symbolism of the whip demonstrated how he began to abuse the power he had acquired to control the other animals. This abuse of power is a societal issue that can relate to many different historical settings, which is why Animal Farm is so relevant to this era. George Orwell also used the symbolism of animals to give a clear and accurate representation of the balance of power in society without directly talking about a real life historical events which is a clear example of satire. The method that George Orwell used to represent his ideas were also shown in the Cartoon. The Cartoonist used symbolism of the microphone, podium and suit to demonstrate the politician who is supposed to be leading his people just like how Napoleon was leading the animals. The Cartoonist also used the symbolism of the people holding the government up to demonstrate how there is a balance of power. If the people were not standing on the plank than the government would fall. This demonstrates that the government only has power over the people because the people allow them to which is a social issue that

Central to Fanon s philosophy concerning the process of Decolonization rests the mutual understanding among both groups that their positions are the result of specific historic processes. Yet, under the oppression of the colonizers, the colonized fail to empower themselves because the colonist, continues to fabricate the colonized subject. (Fanon 826). This fabrication manifests in the colonizer s use of institutional mechanisms such as education, incarceration and economic opportunity to promulgate a collective identity in which the identity of the colonized remains that of a people born less than their oppressors. Adopting this false identity, the colonized community becomes, a sector of niggers, a sector of towelheads, whose, dreams of possession, (Fanon 827) remain dreams until those colonized peoples are able to empower themselves and overthrow the colonizer s systems of control. Like Marx, Fanon seeks to deliberate the exact modes and methods by which the colonial system retains power over the colonized peoples, their lands, and the resources which abound throughout them. Unlike Marx, Fanon credits the direct subjectgation of countless peoples from countless nations, tribes and languages to what race one belongs to. (Fanon 827) The presupposition that the colonizer forever remains, first and foremost the outsider (Fanon 827) further supports the philosopher s absolute means of societal upheaval in that Marxist economic theories of oppression pertaining to the bankers, customs house, and elsewhere fails to account for the sociological justifications which the colonial system propagates

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Composites 1 CHAPTER. 1 COMPOSITES 1.1 Introduction A composite is when two or more different materials are combined together to create a material which is superior and unique and holding different properties than earlier. Light weight high strength materials are essential in fabrication of aerospace structures like airframes, rocket motor casings, nozzles and wings. The composites are the materials formed by embedding fibers in the plastic that add characteristics like high resistance to fatigue, anticorrosive, high tensile strength or stiffness with weight savings up to 25 45% compare with conventional metallic designs. Composites possess greater reliability, which are capable to meet the design requirements, easier to achieve smooth aerodynamic profiles against drag reduction and high resistance to impact damage. The capacity to tailor the fundamental material properties of a cover has permitted new ways to deal with the plan of air flexible flight structures. Many of these drugs come from the same types of places and plants and are also made in a similar way. Cocaine, morphine, and heroinstarted to be produced just as often as the first opioid based prescription drugs and the only difference is that these were much more addictive and dangerous. The introduction of drugs in America caused a serious problem in the early 20th century that spread like a wildfire. As these drugs began to worsen, President Nixon formed the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) to combat these lethal drugs, as well as the gangs and cartels distributing them. In 1968, the Justice Department s Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs was formed to try and combat the rise in illegal drugs. The agents in this department were composed of previous agents from two separate departments, the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (FBN) and the Bureau of Drug Abuse Control (BDAC).
