2. Determining the Prices of Products
With the coming of the global marketplace on the Internet, would Uniform Global
price become a reality?
Introduction:
What is the Price of a product? How is the price of a product determined? Why is

Pricing is one of the key functions of the finance as well a marketing department of
any company whether it is a manufacturing concern or a service provider. On one
hand, the finance department decides the margins and other costs involved in

During the initial years of e commerce, many predicted that the internet would lead
to a frictionless economy with lower search costs and availability of better
information over the internet. Generally people feel that if a product is purchased
online, they would be in a position to take advantage of the fixed price displayed
online which would in most cases be lower than the retail prices in the customer s
country. However, the headline price displayed is not always depict the full cost of
purchasing that product as the hidden costs are not mentioned. Hidden costs may be
shipping charges (postage and packing), tax liable on purchase.
Several efforts have been made to standardize the way prices are display and online
shopping websites have been very helpful in providing comprehensive details about
the cost of products sold online. Inspite of such efforts made, there are still some
unresolved issues concerning the local taxes which differ from country to country.
Ethnocentric pricing policy
According to this pricing policy the prices are set uniform across the world and the
importer absorbs fright and import duties. This is the simplest of all as no
knowledge of the competitors prices and market is required but the disadvantage of
such pricing policy is pricing does not respond to the market conditions of each
national market thus it does not help to maximize the company s
3. Roles Within The Organization s Governance Model
Introduction The Hospital Sisters Health Systems consist of four different
divisions within two states and have a total of 13 hospitals, along with a large
physician group. The organization was originally run by a group of nuns.
However, the nuns have formed a board to oversee the governance of HSHS to
ensure they continue to meet the high expectations and mission originally
designed by the founding convent in 1875. As the hospital system has grown the
governance board has also grown and now has several key members listed on its
organizational chart. Each of the roles is essential in creating uniformed quality
facilities throughout not only the divisions but the entire HSHS system. The
governance board assists in many areas, including HIT decisions and upgrades.
This paper will discuss the governance of HSHS, various roles within the
organization s governance model, the HIT decision making process, and an
example of HIT implementation within the HSHS EWD. Hospital Governance
Sister Bernadine Gutowski is one of a few nuns that belong to the Third Order of St
Francis. She works as a secretary within the Hospital Sisters Health Systems (HSHS)
and recently discussed with me the history of our organization and the changes it has
endured. HSHS was originally ran by a group of nuns that belonged to the Third
Order of St. Francis in 1875. At that time, they began serving the community by
nursing sick and poor people within their homes. Since then they have expanded their

4. Becoming A Living Organ Donor
Becoming a living organ donor helps to increase the amount of organs that can be
supplied to those who are in need of them. A living organ donor can be
distinguished into one of three groups: they are involved in a direct donation, giving
their organs to someone they choose such as a family member or a friend; they can
be involved in a non directed donationin which they give their organto a national pool
and it will be transplanted into a patient who is at the top of the waiting list; or a
living donor can be involved with a directed donation to a stranger and in this case,
the donor chooses to donate their organ to a specified person who they do not have
any emotional connection with. (Truog, Robert D). Many ethical questions come into
5. Minimum Wage Drawbacks
There are several positions highlighting the benefits and drawbacks of a minimum
wage policy. The policy behind the use of a minimum wage and the effects of an
increase in an established amount is debated every political cycle. The minimum
wage is the term for the lower legal limit of pay (hourly, daily or monthly) that an
employer can offer to an employee for their labor.
I will not be taking a position on the topic on way or the other.
First, we will look at the claim that a raise of the base pay for employees will cause
an increase in unemployment and job loss. For the side that support an increase in
minimum wages hold that the loss of jobs would be negligible. When looking at the
fast food industry in Minimum Wages and Employment: a Case Study of the Fast
Food Industry in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, Dr. David Card and Dr. Alan
Krueger found that when one state, New Jersey, raised their wages by $0.80, the job
growth mirrored Pennsylvania which did not raise wages (p.792). These findings
would support a conclusion that the minimum wage increase ... Show more content on

When compensation for work done is increased for individuals the satisfaction for
the job also increases, when renumeration is comparable to employ expectations
there is less pressure for a person to get minimal training and change positions
outside the initial company. A job being filled than vacated quickly is a burden to
employers due to cost of initial training and low levels of productivity from new
hires. However detractors of an increase in the minimum wage cite that a national
policy doesn t take into account the diverse socioeconomic regions of the United
States. a one size fits all approach to wages hurts the communities with a lower cost
of living by increasing the effects of inflation on goods and services provided in the
area (Biggs and Perry, A National Minimum Wage is a Bad Fit for Low Cost
6. The Buried Giant, By Kazou Ishiguro
Is having any type of memory important in our daily lives? If so, which do you
remember the most of? In Kazou Ishiguro s novel, The Buried Giant, Ishiguro deals
with a couple named Axl and Beatrice, who go into an adventure where they meet
other characters such as a young Saxon warrior Edwin. One theme that is constantly
brought upon in the novel is the relevance of memoryas a whole. Even though the
meaning of family is evident between the elderly couple, Beatrice and Axl, Ishiguro
generates a society and specifically for Axl, Beatrice, and Edwin where memory is
lost and dreaded, thereby creating the importance of memory signifying that we
should value others and what we remember by using abnormal dreams, remembering
thoughts that unite... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Since the cloak badger is tight around her symbolizes that Beatrice has a special
intimate connection with Axl, because she is wearing this garment that is physically
protecting her body. Therefore, Beatrice is implying that she cannot let go of him.
The caterpillar represents Axl who is crawling away from her instead of being with
her forever. As a result, Beatrice unconsciously fears that her husband may eventually
depart her. It is evident in this example, that memory has a connection with dreams,
by showing that we are able to incorporate values into people not only through a
conscious state of mind, but also unconsciously through dreams. Therefore, the dream
reinforces the anxious fear of not only losing someone physically, but also
mentally. In addition, the current memory between Beatrice and Axl brings them
together. Even though memory is not the greatest attribute of Axl, he tends to
remember some positive ideas he learned from others. Axl utters, The time I m
thinking of, you had on the green cloak, and it was some festival day, and this
same stranger, seeing I was your protector, turned to me and said, she s the loveliest
vision I ve seen so you be sure to take very good care of her my friend (Ishiguro 77

people, but only when it is remembered clearly. Considering that Axl does remember

7. The Obamacare A Kind Of Social Insurance Policy
United States (US) political deadlock seems to be an unbreakable problem. The
problem mainly comes from the relationship between two parties, the relations of
president and congress, and the voting system of the congress. Since US congress
and president controlled by two major political parties separately, gridlock seems
to be a certain problem in their terms of political responsibility. For instance,
president Obama announced his ambitious plan on health care issues. The
Obamacare a kind of social insurance policy by president Obama, also it is the
trigger of the gridlock at 2012. Political deadlock mainly comes from the differences
of ideology between two parties in terms of taxation, immigration, and others. This
paper analyzes the problem of the political deadlock in terms of controllability,
coalition.
Lack of controllability Mostly the political deadlock triggered by a debatable issue
or policy, such as Andrew Johnson s impeachment (1865), Civil Right Act (1957),
Bill Clinton s impeachment (1998), and Obamacare (2012). Debatable issue was not
the only trigger of political gridlock, political parties lacking controllability more
important than issues. Mostly, when the deadlock comes out, that was very few
deficits between both parties in the congress. In table 1, the democrat only controls
12 out of 51 seats in the senate, the controllability in the House of representative was
much better. They controls 80 out of 183, but the republican controlled other seats at
8. An Invisible Thread
Your book An Invisible Thread was very heartwarming story of a friendship that
has reached thirty years and brought life and hope to a hungry and desperate boy. It
s a very insightful story, which left me in tears many times. I loved the relationship
that grew with you and Maurice. Even though I would get sometimes confused,
you made it very easy to feel your emotions as well as his, telling the stories of your
childhood. This book will really made me stop and think about what kind of
person I am. I don t believe many people are like you. I don t think many people
would have stopped to help a young boy asking for money on the street. But I
would like to believe this book would help at least me consider being that kind of
person. You are the type of person I strive to be, kind, thoughtful, giving. Your
relationship with Maurice in fact did save his life. Anyone who reads this book can
see that. But the fact is, when... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

people wont give them money because people don t know if the homeless people

did you know Maurice was really poor? My favorite parts in the book were when
you talk about ideas such as destiny and fate. In doing so, you give us faith that
there is more to life than a little chance. It s a good book to read for those days
when everything is going wrong; you make us believe that there is always a way
out. Maurice was a street kid that came from a violent background, abandonment,
brutality, and starvation were normal for him. It is amazing how determined he
was to survive and start a good life for his future generations. This book accurately
shows this ugly side of life and most people pretend this life doesn t exist. I was one
of those people but now I know about this ugly life and I thank your for
9. The Sun is a Star in the Universe
A star in the universe, the sun is a giant nuclear fusion reactor. Combining hydrogen
to form helium, the sun generates a great amount of energy. Radiation from the sun
catalyzes or directly supplies most of the natural energy systems on earth. The sun
causes the air in the atmosphere to warm up, setting temperature differentials that
generate wind. Major patterns of winds are due to the earth s rotation about its axis
and the day night cycles of solar heating and subsequent cooling.
Earth is very different from the other planets in the universe in the way that the planet
possess complex systems that dissipate and maximize the use of the abundant energy
available from the sun that are missing on other planets. Life on earth is in general
an open system that is supported by these complex systems and the continuous flow
of energy from the sun. We as a part of the earth and these smaller complex systems
share a task of maximizing the use of this energy available to us in abundance.
Nations around the world are battling over the apparent scarcity of energy and
resources which could be termed as inability to use the abundant free energy that is
available to us.
The natural ecosystems on the earth are complex adaptive systems that use sunlight
to manufacture outputs that are used by other systems to survive. The plants process
the sunlight through photosynthesis (known as Photosyntherically Active Radiation
(PAR)) to produce oxygen that is used by the living organisms to

also found out that I tend to work better in a group because when i working in a

12. Critical Analysis Of Edward Scissorhands
Edward Scissorhands, directed by Tim Burton in 1990, features Burton s distinctive
style, themes and story elements. Moreover, it is influenced stylistically by the
German Expressionism; distortion of objects and bodies, such as the trimmed
hedges, Gothic elements, for instance Edward s castle or his clothes, and the music
played throughout the film, curves and crooked lines in the pathway of the
neighbourhood, and the Chiaroscuro lighting (low key lightning) in most of the
scenes. Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest), a local Avon door to door saleswoman tries to
sell her products around her neighbourhood, until she arrives to the old, abandoned
Gothic mansion in the outskirts of Spring Hopes. There, she discovers Edward

One of the most relevant arguments for claiming that the film is good enough to
recommend it is that the film has authorship personality; that is, throughout the movie
audience may realise that there are lots of Burton s characteristic features: such as
the visual style, contrasting the pastel colours (blue, green, orange, and pink) in the
houses of Spring Hopes, with the Gothic ones (mainly black) in Edward s clothes
and castle. It seems Edward is brought to the neighbourhood to show that there is
another valid lifestyle; the otherness has to be accepted even though it seems to be
too bizarre at first. Furthermore, the exploration of the otherness and the characters,
such as Edward, who exist outside the boundaries of normality is a topic that is
highly relevant, because it may show the audience that no matter how different a
thing is, all that it is important is that is good enough for you. Edward Scissorhands,
summing up, is a good film because it has an interior meaning, that is, it makes the
audience think outside the box, and extract a useful moral from the
13. Sweatshops In Developing Countries
Todays, when the citizenship is concentrated, sweatshop is becoming a striking
issue of controversies. Especially in developed countries, this problem is always
boycotted, but on the other hand it is an opportunity for people in underdeveloped
countries to change their lives. Although sweatshop is considered as a complex issue
with underpayment and underworking environment, they are beneficial to change
the old ideologies, economic growth, and fair working conditions. Firstly, women
choose to work in sweatshops in developing countries because this is their only
source step out of unavailable and unthinkable situation. Women in these countries
tolerated outdated beliefs, such as being restricted to domestic chores and relying
on their husbands. Their lives are always in a vicious circle that they want to escape
but do not know the right way, so working in sweatshops provide women not only
chance to create stable income, but also sense of their own independence. As the
writer mentions that with the small income from garment sweatshop, women in
Bangladesh can manage their finances, have their own choice in marriage and
having children (Sachs, quoted in Garyfalakis, para5). Moreover, they have chance
to go to school and gain their special skills. For example, earning $1 to $2 in
Indonesia or Bangladesh sounds unbelievable, but it can help a woman feed her kids
and restrict diarrhea disease (Kristof and Wudunn, 2000). Women in these countries
also admitted that even

15. Do Gods Appeal To Greek Gods
This quote is very introspective about deities. And it is true. Many gods in myths
and legends are not known to be kind. This is why people try to appeal to them in
sacrifices and offerings, fearing the gods wrath in the form of natural disasters and
sickness. The concept of deities was formed in order to explain unknown things, and
since people before could not predict natural disasters, they hoped that their worship
will stop the bad things from happening. Even now, people appeal to deities for good
fortune and to protect them, and many still fear punishment from their deities.
Many worshippers make sacrifices and offering to the gods. There are many religions
that call for human sacrifices, such as the Aztecs. Worshippers of Zeussacrificed
16. Use Of Communication And Its Effects On The World Of...
In the world of technological advances the earth has evolved into, people are
communicating more often and easier than ever. The modes of communication are
endless, including: text, email, social media, phone calls, letters, fax, radio, podcast,
and live via virtual video. Each one of these modes of communication opens a
window of opportunity for a person to demonstrate rude behavior or improper
etiquette. Have you ever been to dinner with a friend to catch up and found yourself
staring at them as they stare into their cell phone? In this instance, it is believed that
the person simply does not know they are being rude. Their rudenessis caused by
mere ignorance or the thought that it is socially acceptable now (LaBossiere 2008).
A means of communication is literally at one s fingertips at all times, it not only
distracts them from the world surrounding them, but the people they encounter. Cell
phones have become such a part of our daily lives that they are often the thing we
reach for the minute we wake up and the last thing we look at before going to bed
(Woollaston 2015).
It is estimated that people spend an average of five hours a day on their cell
phones. That s a third of the amount of time they are actually awake (Woollaston
2015). However, it has been found that there are other causes of rude behavior such
as a means of demonstrating superiority due to one s own insecurities or anxieties, a
person s level of stress, and prior victimization from those who have
17. Decay Of Decay And Decay
Introduction Isotopes are elements which have the same number of protons but
different number of neutrons and these elements have same atomic number but
different in atomic mass.because of their characteristic nature of producing
radiation and their energies. Isotopes are used in various areas like industries,
agriculture, medical field and research centers. They are decayed by emission of
energy in the form of alpha, beta (electron) beta plus (positron) and gamma rays.
(1) Types of radiation Alpha particles cannot be used for measurement from outside
the body because they are such low penetrating power. A sheet of paper stops alpha
particles. Beta particles have a modest penetrating power, thus they produce useful
results in the area of their release, and they can be distinguished by sensitive
counting tools. Block of wood stops beta particles. Gamma rays are highly
energetic, and they can be readily discovered by radiation counters used outside the
body. A thick concrete wall stops gamma rays. Radioisotopes are unnaturally
produced unstable atoms of a chemical element which have a different number of
neutrons in the nucleus, but the same number of protons and the same chemical
properties. May live for only minutes. Their existence is measured in halflives, how
long it takes for half of the isotope to disappear. (3) Radioactive products which are
used in medicine are called radiopharmaceuticals. They are different from other
medically used drugs since they
18. The Federal Reserve ( Fed )
The Federal Reserve (FED), is the central bank of the United States. It was created
by Congress to provide the nation with a safer, more flexible, and more stable
monetary and financial system (Federalreserve.org, 2016). The monetary policy of
the US is governed by the FED, which assist in regulating the supply and demand of
moneyin the market. Interest rates are a very important tool of monetary policythat
economists use to achieve the targets defined for the country s monetary policy.
Interest rates have a profound impact on the value of the country s currency, inflation,
export competiveness and imports into the country. Interest rates also impact the
inflow and outflow of funds into or out of the country. Due to their wide reaching
impact on the economy, if the Fed decides to raise the interest rates at the end of this
year it will definitely impact several aspects such as consumer financing, annuities
values, the NPV calculation, the WACC and corporate earnings.
Effect of rising rates on the following:
Consumer financing for big ticket items such as autos and homes
Rates on mortgages and other types of loans have been fairly low, creating more
access to capital for businesses and making big ticket purchases more affordable for
consumers. If the FED raises the interest rate it will have several effects on the
consumer. It will reduce their purchasing power and consumers shopping habits will
be influenced. The decrease in purchasing power leads to a decrease in
19. Walmart and McDonaldВґs Reaction to Employee Living
Wage
As we approach the holiday season an alarming new trend among top companies
has surfaced. In the past few weeks articles about how Wal Mart and McDonalds
have had controversial experiences between company and employees have come out.
Both companies simply do not understand what it is like for their employees to make
below the living wage, and the answer should not be to rely solely on government
programs such as food stamps. Before we actually look into what both of these
companies did, let s keep in mind that according to the US Census Bureau as of
2012, 46.5 million Americans are living in poverty (US Census Bureau, 2012). As
a country, we need to discuss poverty seriously, because it isn t a small problem, as
time goes on it s becoming an epidemic. McDonalds has had a lot of heated news
surrounding due to a recent comment the company released to their employees in
order to help with them getting out of debt. The company advised that employees

may not seem as appealing as they did. Selling some of your unwanted possessions
on eBay or Craigslist could bring in some quick cash (White, 2013). So the way
McDonalds is telling their employees to get out of the holiday debt is to return
purchases and it only gets worse. McDonalds also released a statement saying that it
would suggest that workers, visit the thrift store instead of the mall, use stale bread

Scrooge s Change in A Christmas Carol
Dickens combines a description of hardships faced by the poor with a heart
rending sentimental celebration of the Christmas season. The novel contains
dramatic and comic element as well as a deep felt moral theme. In the beginning of
the novel Ebenezer Scrooge is portrayed as a hardhearted and unsociable man.
However at the end of the novel we see dramatic changes in him as a trio of ghostly
visitations causes a complete change in him. Scrooges transformed from an
unpleasant and penny pinching character to a charitable kind man. The following

confronts Bob Crachit and complains about Bob s wish to take Christmas day off.
What good is Christmas, Scrooge snipes, that it should shut down businesses? he

Later that evening Scrooge returns home through dismal, fog blanketed London

22. The Issue Of Affirmative Action
On the contrary, supports of affirmative action feel that this law is still needed in
America to help places of higher education have more diversity which will benefit
companies in the long run and it also helps companies be more diverse and it helps
them thrive. In the past few decades the number of minorities and females in places
of higher education and companies have been rising at a slow rate. During 2012,
the health care industry was suffering from lack of medical personal in the medical
field; however, 16% of the U.S. population is Latino and 14% is African American,
these groups constituted only 9% and 7%, respectively, of the total U.S. medical
school enrollment in 2012 (Graces, paragraph 2). The rate of minorities enrolled
in medical school has been slowly rising over the years. Having minorities and
females in a company helps the company be more diverse while also giving the
company employees that can help the company thrive and be successful. Supporters
feel that this law benefits people who usually would not have a chance of attending
a place of higher education or be a part of a company an equal and fair chance.
Supporters of affirmative action feel that it is positive discriminationand that it
benefits places of higher education and companies not discriminate against females
and minorities. A significant, amount of court cases have been brought up to the
Supreme Court dealing with affirmative action. One important court case that deals

the winter blues typically sets in right after the holidays, when it s time to take
down your Christmas decoration, get back to work, take care of kids, and prepare
yourself for the upcoming year. That s because the vast majority of people find
that winter is an extremely difficult time of year to gather the strength to feel joy
and excitement about practically anything. Fortunately, a visit to any of your
favorite warmer climate destinations will have you forgetting about the slush, ice,
snow boots, and dark season in no time. So, if you find that you re unmotivated,
checked out, and heavy hearted, try to fight these feelings by taking steps towards
the light even in the darkest part of winter. That, of course, is easier said than done
for some people. If you and your family are in need of a winter vacation but if cost is
a major factor, consider one of these affordable and super fun destinations where
your money will go a lot farther. Dallas, Texas Some of you may have all heard
that everything is bigger in Texas and well, it is. Dallas isn t home to just the
Cowboys, Rangers, Mavericks, and Stars, it s also home to some of the

As a result, an increasing number of vehicles have sound proof design and acoustic
surrounding systems. However, when those in car appliances operate simultaneously,
it can be difficult for drivers to detect the approach of emergency vehicles such as
ambulances, police, and fire fighting trucks. This is one of the reasons why most
accidents between emergency vehicles and motorists happen at intersections [1].
Those collisions impede the emergency service travels from reaching the destinations
on time. In the United States, it is claimed that the most frequent emergency service
cases were about emergency vehicle crashes and patient handing mishaps [2].
Even though the emergency vehicles have implemented visual device, the visual
warning mechanism cannot take effect if the receivers are not facing towards the
vehicle. Many collision incidents indicate that drivers did not recognize the coming
emergency vehicles with flashing lights and they delayed the reflection of clearing
roads in urban area [3]. It is not constrained to elderly or hearing impaired drivers.
Therefore, the audible warning siren is important to prevent collisions which are
27. caused by drivers not responding to the sign of warning from emergency travel.
Due to the improvement of in car sound control design mentioned above, the siren
can be difficult to penetrate into the cabin of a vehicle when the distance is greater
than 8 12 m [4]. Tests were conducted to improve the audibility
30. Texting Vs Calling Research Paper
There is great controversy of the topic that includes the differences of calling and
texting. Although it is mainly an opinion based subject, there are many ups and
downs for both sides. Some advantages of texting include being able to talk to
someone in a quiet environment, people have more confidence in what they say, and
people can respond when the time in covenant. Advantages of calling incorporate the
ability to completely understand what they are saying, knowing that it is just
between you and this person, and is much easier to get more words across. Even
though these seem like great accommodations, there is a great downside to each of
these. The main fault of texting is texting and driving. Edgar Snyder backs this up by

31. Ventilatory Analysis
In this article, the authors emphasise the use of noninvasive methods of providing
ventilation to neonates as they were introduced to do away with the mechanical
ventilation techniques. De Winters and Vries claim that the use of noninvasive
techniques reduces the incidences of bronchopulmonary dysplasia in neonates, a
complication most common with standard ventilatory techniques. The article
discusses the best ways in which the modern noninvasive respiratory support
techniques should be administered to neonates. The authors argue that non intubated
continuous positive airway pressure (nCPAP) is beneficial to an infant in some
ways. It stabilizes the airways, increases the volume of the lungs and decreases the
effort required for respiration.
32. The Service And Practice Dilemmas Of Case Management...
Case management and Individualised services is a respectable, systematic service
providing extended support and guidance to people suffering from chronic and
deteriorating life problems in society. Based on research conducted through out this
essay, the notion addressed within the paper discusses the service and practice
dilemmas of case managementpractices. The paper contains the definition of case
management and how they deliver their services through an intervention process. It
further discusses evident social workers experiences and how conflicts within the
practice have impacted their attitudes and awareness s of their profession.
Furthermore it draws on the dilemmas of decision making based on confidentiality,
social justice, and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, case management is not always successfully implemented, and practitioners
often feel they are not given sufficient support (Gursansky et al. 2012).
In order to deliver good case management services case managers, need to start off
with building rapport and trust relationships with the client who is seeking
available services. Major clientele where case management approaches occur is
when case managers interact with individuals and families dealing with complex
circumstances. Therefore, there is a need for a large knowledge base in order to
deliver appropriate services the client needs. As a case manager it is important to
know that every client is different and there is a need for different skills when
implementing intervention plans. One of the roles of case managers is to match
client s needs, as accurate as possible to available services. In order to achieve or
meet the needs of clients, case managers conduct an intervention process that helps
identify the client s needs, strengths and weaknesses as well as identify their goals.
Generally, this is done in stages where the case manager begins to establish a
helping relationship and where informal or formal rules are agreed (Keegan, R
2015, pg.71). At this stage good case management services do not assume or ignore
any detail of the client s story or issue. They begin to determine the eligibility of the
client, their emergence and build rapport in order to

Presentation
I propose to add to a musical machine as the exemplification of an intelligent
music framework. A standout amongst the most difficult ranges inside of PC music
is genuine
time execution, and inside of this, joining machine listening systems to
incorporate some intuitiveness in the middle of client and framework. Whilst the
generative perspectives
of an intuitive framework can take into account more prominent comprehension of
human innovativeness
(Boden 1990), the logical perspectives can reveal insight into the intricate operation of
human discernment. This zone envelops such an extensive variety of computational,
subjective and social issues that the degree for exploration and study is verging on
unbounded.
Further, the part of the robot in today s general public is quick moving from that of
exceptionally
minimal human connection, to right on the bleeding edge as visit aides, household
partners,

Advancement of intuitive musical robots would test individuals
biases and limits concerning the situations in which we associate
with innovation and its advancement and level of contribution inside of our lives.
The prizes are clear when working with musical apply autonomy, as you can typify
all the upsides of advanced music whilst keeping up the lavishness of
acoustic sounds (Weinberg et al 2005). A musical accomplice not
35. Media And Media Violence
In the end, media violence, like all important things in life, has a middle ground.
Neither side is completely right, nor is either side completely wrong. It is all a
matter of proper usage and proper exposure to children. Now I won t tell parents
how to do their job. It isn t my business to tell them how to raise their child. But I
will say that it is important to note that every child is different. One may be mature
enough to understand that the actions in a certain movie or game are not good life
choices in real life, and others may be be extremely immature and unable to
understand how to act in the real world. But, again there is a middle ground. Do you
see where I am going? This isn t a matter of, it is bad. or, it is good. but a matter of
how do we use this properly? It is a lot like cars in that sense. We all know cars are
good, but does the number of car crashes that happen daily make it bad? No, of
course not! It is all about adapting how we use cars to prevent crashes. Tying media
to shootings and abuse is also absurd. Since many sane people intake tons of media
daily. And most all of those people aren t murderers. Probably a ratio of about 1000
murderers, to 7 billion okay ish people. Bottom line, media violenceand real world
violence are to separate things. Should we let kids watch certain things? Probably
not. But that is up to the parent, not the government to make laws against it. Media
violence almost always comes down to the parents. Maybe perhaps

This case study deals with improving customer satisfaction without changing the
support cost per call. The problem was resolved using a Six Sigma DMAIC
problem solving methodology. The basic equation of Six Sigma, Y = f(x), defines
the relationship between a dependent variable Y or the outcome of a process and a
set of independent variables x or possible causes which affect the outcome. In this
case study, Y is the new account growth, whereas x is the number of transfers, wait
time, and service. The Company The subject company is an IT Call Center, which is
in a highly competitive industry due to it being the fastest growing industry in the
world. With competition being so fierce, this creates low prices in the given market.
Subsequently, for an organization to maintain market share and profitability, it must
offer the best service in the market. The call center provides services to a variety of
customers such as online and telephone services. The responsibilities of a call center
are to handle questions from clients with problems. The company purchased industry
data from a clearinghouse, which gathers a variety of information about customer
satisfaction and call center technical and business performance. By comparing their
company to the industry standards, they discovered their customer satisfaction was
average or below the industry standard. The company s satisfaction rating is 73% on
a 100% standardized score, whereas the industry average is 76% and best in
37. Analyzing Blues Music
The Blues: Genre Analysis
The blues is a musical genre that originated among African Americans in the
Southern United States in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. From these humble
and provincial origins it has come to be appreciated all over the country and the
world, and has also spread its influence even more widely by way of its offspring, jazz
and rock. While the word genre is certainly appropriate, the blues can be defined more
specifically as a closely related set of melodies, harmonies, rhythmic patterns and
bar structures. Unlike many musical genres, the blues is very tightly focused in fact
it could be said without much fear of exaggeration that all blues songs are variations
on one song. Nevertheless, as time went on the blues lost some of its stereotyped or
formulaic aspect and loosened up its structure to encompass a variety of forms of
expression.
Basically, blues melodies are built around a major scale with fairly strong
pentatonic character. However, the third tone of the scale tends to be sung (or to
the extent possible, played) slightly flat (a blue third ), or to be bent from the
minor third up to the major third. Less often, the seventh and fifth tones of the scale
are given similar treatment. The harmony (provided by the guitar or piano in the
original solo format of blues performance) relies mainly on the I, IV, and V chords,
although some versions also make use of the VI and II. The typical progression
moves from the I chord to the IV, back
38. Internal Security Threat Regarding Employees
Part (i) Threat 1 a)Title: Internal Threats Employee threats b)Description of security
threatAn internal threat concerning employees is a wide ranging issue as it can
encompass various situations. The primary issue stems from an authorized,
nontechnical user or a system that can utilize the system without creating a red flag.
(Peltier, 187). c)Justification for inclusion with emphasis on risk and potential
damageThe internal threat is a primary issue as employees, statically, is the cause of
security issues. The information available to the employees can commit various
types of criminal acts from fraud, to insider trading, to breaking international laws.
There can also be issues with disgruntled employees, potentially if the employee is
only contracted or temporary. It is a common practice in large companies, especially
international companies, to outsource and contract work. This can create issues with
personnel if a contract is ended in an unexpected way. There is also an inherent
temptation with the information available, especially considering various white
collar crimes. d)Organizational responseAn organizational response would be to
create policies to deter internal attacks, which can be done in multiple ways. The
first method would require creating a training program to educate employees and
discourage such behavior. The second would be to create procedures outlining their
different levels of access that employees can have depending on their job
39. Letter From Birmingham Jail And Nonviolent Protests
Essay
Letter from Birmingham jail and Nonviolent Protests
In Martin Luther King Jr s Letter from Birmingham jail , King talks about his
imprisonment for his involvement in a nonviolent protest and defends his rights and
moral grounds for organizing nonviolent protest activities. In this essay, I will look at
his views on nonviolent protest and how they differ from todays violent protests. To
understand King s views on nonviolent protest, I will start by summarizing some of
the main points in his Letter from Birmingham jail . In spite of the fact that the
Letter is verifiably worried with justice all through, King likewise addresses the
question specifically at a few focuses. In actuality, he places that justice maintains
the poise of the human soul, while injustice conflicts with it. By talking about this
idea by and large, he builds up criteria by which to obscurely assault both
segregation and silence it. He at last suggests that the man who sees injustice and
does nothing to stop it is acting unjustly also. Taking after this thought, he contends
that laws must be permeated with an ethical sense so as to be just; as such, law and
morality can not be viewed as independent interests or areas. The best way to really
enact change and help humankind rise above its confinements is to act with as well
as grasp extremism . According to Mott, That this action had been termed extreme
King admits initially disappointed him. But King decides that if loyalty to good
principles
40. Linear Machines During World War I
At the end of World War I there were 4 different rotor based cipher machines
invented by four men Edward Hebern (USA), Arthur Scheribus (Germany), Hugo
Koch (Netherlands), Arvid Damm (Sweden) in four different countries within years
of each other. These types of rotor machines were used in World War II and
provided a strong encryption method while also making it easier for people to use.
The Hebern Rotor Machine invented by Edward Hebern was a mix between a
standard typewriter and an electric typewriter. Edward attempted to build and market
his machine and was confident enough in that prospect that he secured investors and
started a company called Hebern Electric Code. He was not able to sell his machine
though and it did not become ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These men realized that the Diffie Hellman method was exposed to people listening
to the exchanges man in the middle attack and capturing the prime numbers used
with the public keys given. With that information hackers are able to crack the code
leaving the encryption vulnerable. RSA allows a message to be encrypted
asymmetrically using the public key. It is based upon not having the ability to
factor the product of two large prime numbers. The public key consists of the
modulus and encryption exponent. The sender uses the receiver s public key to
encrypt the message which can only be decrypted in a reasonable time using the
private decryption key of the receiver.
Elliptic Curve cryptography is a method of encryption that involves the algebraic
structure of an elliptic curve. An important observation of an elliptic curve that is
drawn is that there is some horizontal symmetry. This allows for plotting from one
point to another, then bouncing from the second point down to the reflection of the
curve to get a value. The advantage with Elliptic Curve cryptography is that there is
no backdoor method to cracking the code and it is harder and takes longer than
factoring does with
41. Design Research Proposal
Research Design The research question for this research proposal is: is
participation in a Housing First program effective in preventing reoccurrences of
child maltreatment with families who have a history of housing instability? This
research proposal will examine the hypothesis: Families with a history of
instability will be less likely to commit child maltreatment when they are enrolled in
a Housing First program as compared to those who are not enrolled. A longitudinal
design study will be used to test the hypothesis and a purposive sampling method
will be used to recruit participants for this study. The participants will be randomly
divided into two groups. One group will be enrolled in a Housing First program and
the other will not... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The questionnaire will be pre tested among local college students who will then
provide feedback to the researchers.
Sampling
Families who are currently undergoing investigation or have been investigated within
the past year for child maltreatment in Pennsylvania will be asked to participate in the
study. Each person will be informed that participation is voluntary and informed
consent will be collected at sign up by the researchers. The ideal sample size for this
study would be 100 families chosen at random from a list of possible volunteers. The
sampling frame is families undergoing investigation for child maltreatment. The
inclusion criteria for the study is that the participants are being/have been
investigated for child maltreatment within the past year and are experiencing housing
instability. The exclusion criteria would include failure to partake in quarterly
interviews and observations. No one will be excluded from this study based on
gender, race, religion, and/or sexual orientation.
Ethics
This research proposal will be submitted to Marywood s Institutional Review Board
and they study will not be conducted until approval has been granted. A possible
ethical problem that may occur is that some participants will have access to the
Housing First program and the other participants will not. Another would be that
families may think they have to participate if they meet the inclusion criteria for the
study. To
42. Modern English Language
There are 6,909 languages spoken in the world today (Anderson). As of 2009, roughly
328 million people speak English as their first language, coming in third to Chinese
and Spanish (Languages of the World). This essay will describe the geographies,
politics, and arts that contributed to the evolution of the present English language, as
well as the different pronunciations, dialects, and varieties that have risen up
throughout the world. Several countries and civilizations influenced the English
language. In the nineteenth century thirty million people immigrated to the United
States of America (History: Late Modern English [c.1800 Present]). These included
Italians, Austro Hungarians, Russians, Germans, Norwegians, Swedes, and more.
Many times these immigrants would form their own communities in which they
would have a distinctive English with a strong ... accent and an idiosyncratic syntax
(History: Late Modern English [c.1800 Present]). During this time, the British Empire
spanned nearly twenty five percent of Earth, including Canada, South Africa, India,
Australia, and several other countries. Once colonized, the natives were taught the
English language and contributed some of their own words as well (History: Late
Modern English [c.1800 Present]). Through the colonization process, several varieties
of the English language were produced. Examples of the New Englishes were
Australian English, South African English, Caribbean English, and South Asian

43. Examples Of Alienation In The Metamorphosis By Franz
Kafka
Is there anybody in the world who wouldn t be afraid of being turned into a half
human half bug creature? There are some brave people out there, but no, there
most likely isn t anyone out there that wouldn t want to express even the slightest
bit of emotion. In the story The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, Gregor has a very
large fear of alienation after he suddenly turns into some sort of demonic looking
giant bug. He craves human attention, and so whenever he finds himself alone for a
period of time he begins to ponder why he s being isolated at the hands of his own
family. Throughout the book, there are many instances where the reader is reminded
that Gregor is struggling to deal with isolation and alienation, and as a result, this
leads... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the story, Gregor is very attached to his life before the transformation. He is very
attached to his family, and even more attached to anything that allows him to feel
like he s still living the same life that he used to have. This is evident in the lines
and is it not as if by removing the furniture we would be showing that we are giving
up all hope of a cure and are ruthlessly abandoning him to his own devices? I think it
would be best if we try to keep the room in precisely the same state it was in before
(Kafka 73). In these lines, you can see that Gregor is very attached to his
belongings. This attachment to his furniture is evidence that Gregor really wants
to go back to living just how he used to live, and it also shows that he is willing to
keep any trace of his past. His fear of alienation relates to the fact that his family is
slowly starting to ignore his presence more and more, and this causes him to
experience anxiety just thinking about how his family will no longer consider him to
be one of them. When his sister and mother come into the room to move his stuff
around, this is the moment when he realizes that he no longer has the ability to
communicate with other people. Gregor also struggles to come to terms with the
