INTRODUCTION
Monetary policy takes central part in discussions on how to promote low inflation and sustainable
growth in the economy. Monetary policy operates as a tool to reduce prices during inflation and
enhance growth in recession times. Its basic objective is improvement of price stability and
achievement of high employment levels in the economy. Thus monetary policy not only fosters
economic prosperity but also safeguards people s welfare.
An understanding of those mechanisms through which monetary policy affects economy is very
crucial for the successful undertaking of monetary policy. There exist a number of crucial channels
that have been identified in this context. These channels are;

The appearance of a person helps to make a positive impact. The way one looks and presents
oneself indicates the importance one attaches to one s presence or participation in the occasion. (p.

A uniform can identify a professional and implicate a certain level of trust and respect by a client.
However, in the field of dietetics and nutrition there is no particular uniform, therefore choosing
appropriate clothing attire to gain clients trust can be an issue. Therefore, it is identified that The
nursing, medical and communication literature shows that a professional s dress attire is relevant to
client professional interactions because it strongly influences client s perceptions of their
professional s characteristics (Heitmeyer Goldsmith, 1990; Nair et al., 2002, as cited in Cant, 2009,
p. 504). Hence, clothing and adornment can affect client/professional relationships.

4.1 Paralinguistics in Dietetics and Nutrition
Paralinguistics conveys meanings of the words used and not used during communication.
Paralinguistics: the properties of voices, separate from the words being spoken, that can convey
meanings (Eunson, 2012, p. 263). Mishra (2009) explains;

My Patient Is A 68 Year Old Indian Male Essay
My patient is a 68 year old Indian male. His health issues include hypertension, Type 2 diabetes,
hyperlipidemia, cellulitis, and insomnia. He has been in the facility for 3 years. My patient s
weight is 156 lbs. and there were no major weight changes for the time he has been in the facility.
My patient needs assistance with either wheelchair or a walker, is able to ambulate with or
without a device. He is not allergic to anything, therefore, no modification to the medication is
needed. The primary the patient is in the facility is because of a foot ulcer. The foot ulcer is

in hypertension, decrease preload, and afterload in cognitive heart failure. The only use for this is
when a person has mild to moderate hypertension. Precautions for those who should not take this if

A Passage to India, written by E.M. Forster, is a story of human relations between the British
colonists and the people of India. Dr. Aziz, a native Indian and main character in the novel, is
extremely frustrated of the way others think about these two cultures together. Some may say it s

novel there is a clear tension between the natives and the colonists that relate to both fictional and

A rite of passage is a public ceremony that marks, recognizes, celebrates or is believed to actually
cause a change in a person and her or his status, usually brought about or related to increasing age
(Peoples, Bailey). Almost every culture has rituals that signal a change in life. Marriage is one of the
most common rites of passage in any culture. Weddings and marriage ceremonies are clear
transitions from adolescence to adulthood. Some form of marriage is known to have existed in
all human societies. Its traditional function in most of these societies has been to stabilize sexual
relations and to unite a man and a woman in order to provide care for the young. In addition,
marriage has linked and allowed for economic exchanges between different kin groups and has
served as the primary coming of age ritual for women (Nelson). In America we are known for
throwing lavish ceremonies and expensive parties to celebrate the union between two people. I ve
attended quite a few weddings and participated in one during my lifetime thus far. Most weddings
